Day #2 Blizzard 2011

The boys are outside again...they love the snow!! I don't know if they even realize how cold it is...they are bundled up and building a snow fort! I, on the other hand, am inside staying nice and warm. This morning I was inspired by the Pioneer Woman and my friend Lauri to cook egg-in-the-hole...and a little bacon (well really not a little-the boys ate a whole pound!)!!!! Then I really got creative and served their breakfast in pie tins...very rustic...don't you think? They loved it...and I love them!

Here is the egg...frying in the bread...with lots of butter!

I love a good snow day!!! The store is closed and the boys are out of school! Today Ty is even home with us!! I think everyone needs a day where time slows down...where family bonds...it just makes me happy!!! The boys woke me up early...ready for breakfast. (Of course they don't sleep in...especially when they can!)Then they bundled themselves up ready for some snow fun....since we are having a blizzard they only lasted about 4 minutes. I'm sure they will try to conquer the snow again...isn't that what a snow day is all about!!!

* Write A Handwritten Letter…Email and Texting is fun…but writing a letter and putting in the mail is golden…teach your kids to write letters…maybe you will get one in return!!!

* READ…Books, magazines, blogs, newspapers…Tons of wonderful information out there just waiting for you.

* Decorate A Room…paint…put up curtains…buy new pillows…hang pictures on the wall…give that room a different look…Be bold!!!

* Be A Listener… It’s nice to talk but listening can change someone’s life!!!

Fall Is Here!!!

I just love this time of year!!! The time has changed...the air is crisp and cool...the leaves are changing colors and falling from the trees...the boys start making their Christmas lists...there is a hustle and bustle in the streets...strangers start giving to strangers...it's just magical!!! I always look forward to November and December and relish in its joy!!! Ty took this picture last year of the boys...look at their sweet smiles...doesn't is just make you want to jump into a pile of leaves? I dare you...enjoy this season...it wants you to!!!

The other day I asked Wyatt to go clean his room. Most of the time this is a battle between us because Wyatt doesn’t like to tidy up…or his leg is “broke” but on this particular afternoon he accepted the challenge. When I went in to his room, I found his bed made (which is unusual) and all of his animals lined up single file!!! I thought it was so cute I couldn’t resist documenting the moment!!!

All you need is some darling leopard flats (I bought mine online at target…around $19 with shipping)…some sparkly earrings, a dab of hot glue and you will have yourself a wonderful pair of shoes!!! Ladies, this project is totally satisfying and you can’t mess it up…so get to creating!!!

Here are the supplies you will need!!!

A little pair of pliers might come in handy if you need to take the back off your sparkly treasure!!

Pamper Yourself!!!

What do you do to pamper yourself? Ladies…This is the time…you must do it!!! Take care of yourself, your soul… do some pampering! I find that women don’t create time for themselves…they’re busy taking care of everyone else--kids, husbands, grandbabies, parents, neighbors, girlfriends and friends…but to simply stop and make time for themselves…Never!!! So today I want you to slow down…breathe and think about pampering yourself!

Fix your favorite drink in a pretty glass…light a candle…wash your towels in a breathtaking new detergent…draw a bath… eat some ice-cream in an antique bowl…read a new magazine or book. These little moments will transform you!

You simply won’t believe the pleasure you’ll find, in taking time for yourself!!!

Family Game Night!!!

Friday night we decided to have family game night! Each of the boys chose a game to play...Wyatt chose Chutes and Ladders and Winston decided we would play Monopoly!!! We really had a great time...I think this could become a family habit!!! I truly enjoy spending time with my boys…they are growing up so fast! They each have such unique personalities…it’s really fun to watch them interact with each other and us! I love that they are comfortable in their skin…they are great kids!!!

Oh, if you haven’t been to the website Picnik…you must! It is a really fun place to edit your pictures…I had fun jazzing up our game night pics!

Laughing In Tampa!

This past weekend I went with some girlfriends to visit one of our dear friends, who moved to Tampa a year ago. We had such a great time! Lots of laughs, lots of eating, lots of laughs, lots of shopping, lots of laughs, lots of talking, lots of laughs…you get the picture. There is nothing like being with girlfriends…just letting loose and laughing. Deep…hurts in your gut…eyes watering…kind of laughing!!! Laughing is so good for the soul…I truly believe it is better for us then exercise…it feels so good!!! I don’t laugh enough but last weekend I laughed and laughed and laughed and it was AWESOME!!!

For over a year now, I have been searching the internet for a pair of cowgirl boots. I want some really bad, but I don't just want any pair...I want the perfect pair...well, girls I have found them. I want them...I need them....I must have them!!! They are perfect and would complete my bohemian/gypsy look that I sometimes throw together...I just haven't had the boots to complete the total package!!! Tell me what you think...do they make your heart race like they do mine????!!!

Don't you just love the hints of leopard in the worn leather? Oh, if they weren't over $300...do you think I can talk Ty into buying them for me...do think I should put a tip jar, on the counter, at the store-or is that over the top? What a girl will do for a stunning pair of boots!!!

Today I am getting my haircut…can’t wait!!! It is driving me crazy!!! I try really hard to like long hair but it’s just not in my blood. First, I don’t want to take the time to mess with it…Second, I am hot natured and it makes me sweat even worse then I already do (isn’t that lovely)…Third, I just don’t like it!!! Long hair always looks so good on others but I am just coming to terms that it is not for me!!! So I think I will get a bob!!! I love bobs…not to long…not to short!!! What do you think?

We are so lucky to have these two beautiful, intelligent and energetic young ladies show off our merchandise this year!! So without further delay….let me introduce you to Caroline Lawson and Haley Dean!!!

Caroline Lawson is a freshman at Ada Junior High. She’s very proud to proclaim that Jesus Christ is the number one priority in her life. Though she may struggle at times He is her all. She attends First Baptist Church and absolutely loves it there. Her family is amazing and is extremely important to her! Caroline enjoys school, takes her grades very seriously and hopes to achieve great things through her education! If you know Caroline, then you realize that dance is more than just her hobby. It’s a love. A love for dance, a love for the people and everything that surrounds it. The studio is practically her second home! Lastly, we can’t tell you about Caroline without mentioning her awesome friends that love and support her. To sum it up, she feels her life is nothing less than wonderful.

Haley Dean is also freshman at Ada Junior High. She’s very active but tennis and basketball are what she likes the most. Though she loves playing these sports and always tries her very best at them, she knows that she is playing for God. He placed her in those sports for a reason and that’s to glorify him. God ranks number one in her life and she admits that though she may stumble sometimes and let activites and everyday life get in the way, in the end, He is still her everything. Haley also attends First Baptist and loves her church. Her wonderful family plays a very important part of her life and she loves them completely! Haley feels her friends are amazing and are always supportive. She has high academic expectations for herself and strives to be involved in a multitude of activites at her school. Her life is great and she is living it to the fullest!
