Don't Get ESPN3.com? No Problem...

Don't get CSS? Having problems watching tonight's game? If you have a lame internet service provider that doesn't allow you to access ESPN3.com like mine, don't worry. There is still hope. All you need is a friend that can access ESPN3.com. Go over to said friend's house, and log on to ESPN3.com. First, verify that you can watch a live event. After that, create an ESPN.com account (don't worry it is free). After you have created your account and are logged in, click on the Remote Access Link. This will allow you to sync your account to remember that you are able to watch ESPN3 events. That's it. When you get back home, just go back to ESPN3.com and sign in to your account. If you can't watch events immediately, click on the Remote Access link again, and you should be golden!

Flea Flicker?

I've heard a lot of people saying Caleb King's fumble was on a flea flicker. I think this video proves that theory wrong, but I'll let you decide for yourself.

My opinion is Caleb never had the ball. When he realized this, he turned away from the oncoming defender to shield himself and attempt to regain possession.

As expected, Travis Leslie's latest highlight reel dunk was on Sportscenter's top ten plays. Unfortunately, John Isner was on the other end of a top ten play.

Thus far I've only tweeted on Isner's run at the Australian Open. It's been tough to say when he'd play so I haven't been telling many people to watch. However, tonight sets up perfectly. Isner plays Andy Murray in the first slate of matches for the day. What does that mean for us? It means his match will be on live tv at 7pm est. You can catch the match on the Tennis Channel if you have it. You can also tune in to channel 701 on DirecTV. If you don't have either, you can stream the match live on tennischannel.com.

In case you haven't been watching, John's been getting plenty of pub on ESPN as he's one of only two Americans remaining (Andy Roddick). Here's a nice piece from ESPN featuring the University of Georgia.

We sure could have used a guard of Sundiata's caliber at Mississippi State yesterday. Something tells me we wouldn't have turned it over 8 million times in the last five minutes with him on the court.

Schad says Reshad and Rennie are gone

Joe Schad just tweeted that Reshad Jones told him he's leaving for the NFL. He also says Rennie Curran is expected to do the same...whatever that means. While Schad was a little premature with the Willie Martinez firing story, he was eventually proven to be right. We'll see what happens here.

Sweet Dunk

While the Dawgs fell to St. John's at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night, we were treated with a nice alley-oop dunk from Vincent Williams to Travis Leslie.

Don't forget to come out and see the Dawgs play Illinois at Gwinnett Arena next Saturday. It's an easy game to make it to for the Atlanta crowd.

My Heisman Ballot

I was asked to do a Heisman ballot for The Blue Workhorse, so I figured I'd post it here. It's funny. When I started thinking it through, my ballot didn't turn out how I thought it would. So here goes...

1. Toby Gerhart - The stats just don't lie. He leads the nation in carries, yards, and touchdowns. He's also fourth in yards per game. Where would Stanford be without him? Probably not in a tie for 2nd in the Pac-10 and ranked 19th in the country.

2. Ndamukong Suh - Nebraska played for, and nearly won, the Big 12 title. Have you seen their offense? Enough said.

3. CJ Spiller - I initially wanted to put Spiller at the top. If I were a defensive coordinator, I don't think there is any single player I'd be more afraid of facing than Spiller. I dropped him because his stats were nowhere near that of Gerhart's, and because he plays in the Almost Considered a Conference.

I have to give an honorable mention to Mark Ingram. He hasn't had a Heisman season in my opinion, but I have a lot of friends that went to Alabama and they'd kill me if I left him off altogether.

We're officially going to the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, LA. I know a lot of people are disappointed by this, but Texas A&M could be a nightmare match up for us. Their offense does what we don't defend well. Jerrod Johnson has been a beast all year running and throwing (8 rushing touchdowns and 28 passing). With almost the whole defensive staff gone for the game, we've got our work cut out for us.

The Uniforms

People are making way too big of a deal about the dang helmets and pants. Let me start by saying this, you open the door for this criticism when you change the uni's. If you change them, you better win. Because if you lose, there will be idiots that think the uniforms lost the game.

While this opens the door for the criticism, the resulting criticism is generally lame. The most annoying thing I keep hearing is that the staff should have spent more time game planning and less time wardrobe planning. I suppose these people think the coaches spent the bye week in endless meetings debating whether or not to wear black helmets and pants. Give me a break! Richt said they had the helmets last year. My guess is it was Richt's decision and not much discussion was held on the matter.

The other annoying thing I hear is that Georgia is above this...Alabama, USC, and so on don't do things like this. Well, I've got some news for you if you think that way. We aren't above anything right now.

What you have to remember is these are kids playing in those uniforms. They think it's cool. Whether it gives them extra motivation or not, it's something that is fun to do for them. I thought it was cool myself.

The only complaint I have is along the lines of part of what PWD said. I'll quote him.

I think special uniforms should be worn by special teams. You beat the Gators, you can have a blackout against Auburn. You get a Sugar Bowl birth, you can have a blackout against Hawaii. You come into the Bama game undefeated with ESPN Gameday in attendance, then sure...a blackout is fine.

But 4-3 teams shouldn't get special treatment. They should just work harder. And by team, I mean coaches and players.

Now that I can agree with. The alternate uniforms should be a reward.

The crazy thing about watching that is it was a 5 point game with a little over 4 minutes to go in the 3rd. That run by Hardesty just broke our backs. The rout was on at that point.

I really want to be positive and say that the 2007 team got blown out by Tennessee for their second conference loss of the season and bounced back in a big way. I want to say that team only looked better because they had an easier non-conference schedule. They didn't open with Oklahoma State. Oh wait. Nevermind.
