193 Images captured at 36 Sec interval with the Nikon D800 and 24-70 f/2.8. Processed in Lr4 and converted to jpeg's prior to building a 38 Sec video in Pro Show Producer. This is my early stab at Time Lapse Photography. Live and learn. Remember to take off Auto White Balance so you can have a smoother transition. Select a middle image to set your RAW settings prior to conversion.

Sunset Time Photography

First attempts at time lapse photography. 120 Images converted into a 22 sec clip. Lessons learned include turning off auto White Balance on the camera. Images were captured in 45 Sec intervals, converted Lr4 to jpegs. Time lapse was set to .2 sec and built in Pro Show Producer. More to learn. Nikon D800 DLSR with 24-70 f.2.8

2012 Malfara Memorial Day

The annual Malfara family Memorial weekend picnic went without rain this year. Kate and Dennis manned the grill with a little mentoring by Lou. This year, the Sullivan, Kelly, Bulman's etc had the honor of quenching their thirst with some premium suds from Old Forge Brewing Company. It's a special order Ale that Chris managed to obtain just in time for our celebrations. Without a doubt this was truly a pleasant surprise and a great find that hit the spot for the men and ladies alike.

Images capture with the Nikon D800, Glass: Nikor 50mm f/1.4 and 14-24 f/2.8 while video snipets stem from both the D800 with the 50mm and the Flip video, Nino HD. Post processing tools include Adobe CS5, Lightroom 4 and Annimoto for the final short video slideshow which can also be viewed below.

Again we thank all those who have served our country and especially honor those that gave the ultimate sacrifice.

D800 Announcement?

Well now that the D-4 has been announced, folks are waiting to see if the D700 replacement is around the corner. The net is heating up with info and stats in hopes that a press conference will introduce the Nikon D800 in the next few days. Perhaps lucky 7 (Feb) will bring us some official news. Meantime here are some reads on the topic. Rumors are flying high.

· Bring out detail in highlight and shadows.

· Create photo books using automatic layouts or a custom design.

· Display images by location.

· Organize, view, and edit video clips.

· Use new local editing tools for white balance, noise reduction, and moiré.

· Ensure more accurate color in your prints and online images with soft proofing.

Nikon Introduces their New D4 Flagship DSLR

Nikon users will be happy to know the new D4 professional DSLR will be available come Feb. The D4 is expected to carry a hefty price tag of approximately $6,000 for the increased enhancements and incorporation of the latest technology. Here is Nikon's Press Release which explains the details and increased functionality of their Flagship DSLR Camera. I look forward to all the excitement and future deep dive reviews of the product.
