Hello Everybody! We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support. We understand how the economy has affected everyone’s pocketbook – and we are not exempt. Between the economy and the construction all around us we’ve had to make the difficult decision to close the store for the winter. We look forward to re-opening in the spring and hoping the construction is complete. We will be making some decisions on what we’re going to sell when we re-open. We plan on increasing our North Carolina Wine selection and continuing with local artists for sure. Everything else is up for consideration.

Hello Everybody! Our after Christmas Sale is here!!!  We have marked down almost everything in the store 25% to 75% off. We are Closing The Bean for the winter.   This week store hours are 12 to 6 daily and Saturday 9 to 4 pm.  After Saturday, we will be closed for winter.  We will be sure to let you know when we are re-opening.  Take advantage of this opportunity to stock up on your favorite items while we are still open.

 For all of our local egg customers, we have made an arrangement with our supplier, Don Raborn, and your order can be phoned in to the store at 704 992 1851 or to his phone at 704 361 4222.

Hello Everybody! Merry Christmas and Season’s Greetings to you all! We will be closed on Saturday – Christmas Eve. We still have a few Christmas Trees left – for $15.00 and Wreaths for $5.00. Tell us you read this in the Newsletter and we’ll knock another $5.00 off the Trees and $1.00 off the Wreaths. Even though we have only a few left – the trees are really nice and full, and fresh.

 The store has a lot of little things that are great for stocking stuffing – pottery, jewelry, handmade one-of-kind cards, ornaments, scented goat milk soap, jams and jellies and more. We also have Christmas decorations, cigar box clocks and a lot of other neat things. A lot of our items are on sale right now. We’ve put most of our inventory on sale for 25% to 75% off. This does not include our wine (although buy 3 bottles, get 5% off), or local art in the store on consignment.

 Next week, after Christmas, more items will be marked down so don’t hesitate to come in and check to see if any of your favorites have been marked down even more. We’d like to say a big Thank You to all our loyal customers who have supported us all year long – some longer than that! It has been nice to get to know you, most of all knowing you prefer shopping local when you can – and putting the freshest foods on your table. You all have been a wonderful gift to us – especially at this time of year

Hello Everybody and Happy Holidays. We have fresh cut Christmas Trees – all sizes – just $20.00. And our wreaths are only $10.00. The store is brimming with holiday cheer – beautiful Ribbon Wreaths, Christmas ornaments, Santa Dolls, and Christmas scented goat milk soap.

For your shopping convenience, we will be open Sunday December 18^th from 1 to 4pm. Our store-wide sale is still on and will go to the end of the year. The sale is 25% to 75% off. Even our Larry’s Beans Organic Coffee is on sale 25% off – which brings the price down to $6.94 a lb (makes a great gift for those coffee drinkers on your list). We also have our jams and jelly’s marked 50% off. You really should come by and check it out!

Our Christmas Show last Saturday was great and we want to thank each and every one of you for making it such a success. We also want to thank Southfork BBQ and Tavern Cheese Spread for coming out. Also, a big thank you to all the local artists that came out to sell their art. A good time was had by all!

Our schedule for next week will remain the same (12n to 6pm) except for Saturday December 24^th – we will be closed Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Hello Everybody! This Saturday from 1 to 5pm, we will be celebrating Christmas with you at our Annual Christmas Show and Wine Tasting. Come on in for wine and food tastings – the wine and cupcake sample is $1.00 each. We will have a number of wines to choose from, and delicious cupcake samples from Just Baked Cupcakes in Cornelius NC. We will also be selling wine by the glass for $5.00 and you get to keep the glass! Buy three bottles of wine – get 5% off. Other samples to try: Southfork BBQ Sauce with White Farms ground beef, goat milk cheese from Round Mountain Creamery, and Tavern Cheese Spread – all local.

 But that’s not all…

 Everything in the store is on sale with discounts up to 75% off! (with the exception of consignment art, and Christmas items) Our Christmas Trees are here and on Saturday ALL trees are $25.00 each. We have 5 to 6 ft, and 7 to 8 ft trees. You can’t beat the price. We also have a nice selection of wreaths for only $15.00.

 Fresh produce will be Pink Lady and Granny Smith apples, and Certified Indian River tangerines, navel oranges, and blood oranges.

 Local artists will be set up all around the store. You can get some Christmas shopping done. There will be jewelry, pottery, paintings, and ornaments, just to name a few.

Hello Everybody! Our After Thanksgiving Sale is still in full swing. Almost everything in the store is discounted from 25% to 75% off. This includes a lot local favorites. We’ve decided to have a large sale before Christmas so our customers can take advantage of the lower prices. Perhaps this is a good time to try out things you haven’t tried before – while the price is marked down. Please feel free to request items we don’t currently have – we’d love to know what you’re looking for.

 Our Christmas Trees are here! We have two sizes – 5 to 6 ft and 7 to 8 ft. The trees are hand picked by us from North Wilkesboro, NC and are priced at $30.00 and $35.00. We also have the wreaths for just $15.00.

 Next Saturday – December 10^th – we are having our Annual Christmas Show and Wine Tasting. Local artists will be set up around the store for your Christmas shopping. We will also be sampling out some local foods – grass fed beef – Southfork Barbeque Sauce – goat milk cheese and Tavern Cheese Spread. And of course, the Christmas trees and wreaths will be ready to load in your car or truck to take home and decorate.

Hello Everybody! Come on in for our After Thanksgiving Sale. Almost everything is marked down from 25% off, up to 75% off. Many of these items would be great little gifts. A lot of locally made items, such as jams and jellies are perfect for stocking stuffers. Many things are unique to this area and would make a great addition to a gift basket with local things in it. Come check us out. Our products make great Secret Santa, teachers, coaches, and instructors’ gifts. We also do gift certificates, which make a nice gift as well.

 You may want to buy fresh produce for the family. This season brings us greens, turnips, cauliflower, cabbage, eggplant, pumpkins, broccoli, tomatoes (still local) and fresh butter beans still in the pod. Not only do we have an array of artisan pasta, we have a wonderful spaghetti sauce and organic herbs and spices which make nice vegetarian meals. If you want to make a meat sauce or meatballs we have grass fed ground beef. All of our grass fed beef, pasture raised pork, and free range chicken is fresh frozen and sealed for maximum freshness and taste.

Remember, Saturday December 10^th is our Annual Christmas Show and Wine Tasting. We will also have some local food tasting. There will be local artists set up all around the store – perfect for some gift shopping. Plan on getting your Christmas Tree too – fresh cut from North Wilkesboro, NC. The event time is 1 to 5 pm. All the Butter Bean girls will be here to assist you putting gift baskets together or help you with recommendations for that special gift you have on your shopping list.

Hello Everybody! Today was FREE POPCORN for the kids. They come in small groups after school, mostly from Lake Norman Charter School as it is right across the street from us. We’ve been giving away treats randomly to them but Friday is free popcorn day for the kids.

Can you believe the Holidays are here already? Next week is Thanksgiving. We have a nice selection of North Carolina Wines to choose from. Stop by and pick up a bottle (or 2) for Thanksgiving Day. Our wine-of-the-month is Carolina Heritage. Any one of the varieties would go well with Thanksgiving, including the dessert wine – Blueberry.

 We will be getting our beautiful North Carolina Christmas trees soon. Some of you have bought your tree from us since we opened in 2007 – We thank you for your loyalty. Tell your neighbors and friends about us too. Beautiful trees – great prices.

 As we get closer and closer to Christmas we will have a lot of things from Local Artists. These one-of-a-kind gifts are perfect for many folks on your list. We can even take all the work out of it for you and make a gift basket up for you. Come in and see all the things we have.

Hello Everybody! We’ve got a couple of new products in the store. Local artist, Lena Gray, presents Ear…resistible greetings. Beautiful earrings made with sterling silver attached to a personal greeting card – very nice – and reasonably priced at $12.99. Our other new product is Southfork Barbeque Sauce made right in Lucia, NC. ‘It’s sweet tangy flavor makes for a good all purpose sauce. It has been used as a sandwich spread, dipping sauce, salad dressing, and marinate’. Come in and give our new products a try.

The Butter Bean’s Annual Christmas Show and Wine Tasting is scheduled for December 10^th from 1 to 5pm. We will have local artists showcasing their work, and freshly cut Christmas Trees from North Wilkesboro, NC. Also, we will be sampling local wine and food. The focus is LOCAL.
