Cole is so excited for his very first preschool Valentine party. We decided to make this one we found on pinterest:

but we decided to do it our way.

First here are all the supplies we needed:

We then painted the foam balls and stuck them on a kabob stick

we wrapped the box in cute valentine paper, (for a girl I think you could add ribbons)

I cut slits and just taped it right in the mouth

we made our teeth out just paper and taped it again.

we hot glued our eyes on the balls, and then made a small hole in the box.

and here are sweet Cole's valentine's. I can't wait til tomorrow! Who doesn't love a day dedicated to LOVE?

{Twisted Sister}

Isn't there a band called twisted sister? Anyways, this is the story of my adorable, yet high maintenance daughter Paisley who had to get her hair cut because of her twisting her hair. Paisley has always been just like her mama. I have always twisted my hair just out of habit and Pais started doing this very young as well. It started off just twisting it which was not a problem until it started progressing into her twisting it at night and she would wake up with a knot in her hair. I always could get these knots out but about a week in a half ago she started twisting it so hard that she was pulling out clumps of hair. This was not just a little clump it was a LOT of hair. Within about 5 days she had twisted out pretty much her entire left side (luckily it was at the base near the neck of her hair and not on top). I was terrified she was going to look like this:

I was at my wits end and didn't know what to do. We had tried to french briad the sides, hairspray, threaten, and I was running out of ideas. I called my sister, Chantel, also the hairstylist of the family and she told me to bring her up. She couldn't believe how much was gone and told me we needed to cut it.

And, we love it. She looks so adorable. Thank you "tantel". So after much thinking we decided that we should gel it at night so that she couldn't twist her hair and still put it up. I also made her a sticker chart, (seriously my kids love sticker charts) and when she doesn't twist her hair she gets to put a sticker on it when she wakes up. When the sticker chart is full she gets a prize. Yes, Cole and Pres also have this exact same incentive, we couldn't leave them out. But we are proud to announce the twisting has ended, and not we are just trying to grow back the missing hair on the left side. This little one gives me a run for my money! It's a good thing she is cute!

{Crock Pot Italian Season Chicken}

Anytime I find a good recipe I know I have to remember it and post it on here. This one is so super easy and delicious. I got this from my sister year's ago and just tried it a bit ago and it is delicious! Enjoy

ingredients:

2-4 frozen boneless skinless chicken breasts

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese (let sit out to soften)

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 pkg. good seasons italian dressing (the dried kind in the packet)

rice

stir the cream cheese, cream of chicken, and seasoning together in the crock pot. i actually start it on low and let them sit in there for about 30 min so the cream cheese is softer to stir. Add in the frozen chicken cook on high 4-6 hours.

Cook rice in rice cooker, or make mashed potatoes, and add chicken over the rice. We all loved this. Just wash the slow cooker out right after because it is a pretty strong smell. Hope you enjoy.

We went to get the twins out of their crib tent, and apparently they felt a need to refashion their current outfit. Presley (left) took one shoulder out and put her shades on (btw how cute are these glasses, childrens place Jackie O collection 2 for $6.00), and Paisley also took out one sleeve, put on shades, took off her pants, and turned her panties inside out. Do you think I am in it with these two? O boy, heaven say a prayer for this mommy!

{Sock Bun}

So I wore the sock bun yesterday and had many people ask how I did my hair like this. I officially thought I was the last person in the world that knew how to do this but apparently I am not, I wish I would have known how to do this earlier because it is so easy and looks pretty put together! Hopefully this helps!

Get a sock that preferably matches your hair color and cut off the toe.

Roll the sock into a doughnut shape

Put hair in either a high pony or a low pony

Put doughnut thru your hair pony and start to tuck the ends around the sock.

Start rolling slowly by adding the hairs inside the sock at the same time

Keep rolling and tucking hairs

And wala- the sock bun!

{Presley & Paisley 28 Months}

I haven't done an update on the girls in a while, and I have been wanting to for such a long time! Finally at 28 months this is what my little princesses are doing now:

Presley
-When you ask Presley to do something she says "O okay", which I love.
-Every time we drive by McDonald's she tells me that she needs a Coke. ( I have no idea where she got that from?)
-When the twins sit down to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner, if Paisley has a mess on her face then Presley goes to the rag drawer and will wipe Paisley's face off. It's adorable.
-She loves to wear hats and hates to have her nails, and toenails cut.
-She knows all of her colors and counts up to 10.
-Presley is truly a sweetie, and is always concerned about everyone else.
-Left handed.
-When Pres does something naughty and knows she is going in time-out she automatically takes off. She runs away and I always have to chase her down.
-Loves the show Caillou, and tells everyone that Cai is her boyfriend.
-A big problem starter. Will take a toy from someone just because she knows they want it.
-She says the same thing over and over and over until you repeat the exact thing she said.
-She always give us what we call the "play-by-play" of every situation.
-This is gross but she is our pooper in the tub! Appreciate ya little one!
-Presley is our worry wart
-She still has blue eyes
-Everything she wears, has or gets, she always wants to show nana
We love our Pip!

Paisley:
-She is our climber out of the bunch. She is small and can climb anywhere.
-Pais is always the last one at the table eating, she also pretty much eats anything.
-If anyone were to see this child's crib you would die. She has to take books, blankets, baby, baby bottles, and anything else she is persuading us to take to bed with her. This is why I nicknamed her our hoarder. She loves to just have stuff.
-On the contrary though she has extreme OCD and is a perfectionist. She has to shut all the doors in the house and will clean up any mess because she can't stand the mess. Even in books if someone is messy she will keep telling you that they are a mess.
-She is a girly girl. She loves to do her make-up with mom, get her nails painted, and have her hair all done.
-She is a big helper and absolutely loves her baby brother.
-Paisley always does her own thing. The other kids will be playing and she is just my little partner.
-She loves to do arts and crafts with mom.
-Still tells everyone No No all the time
-This girl is terrified of feathers, and lints.
-Loves to be held still.
-She is by far the easiest to please out of all my children.
-Paisley loves candy and always wants a little bowl of candy to munch on.
-She knows all of her colors, and numbers and loves to read books.
-If you ask her where dad is she says, "da da at work make, make, money" Exactly like that! Adorable
-When she is in trouble and you ask her what she did, she acts like she didn't hear you and will just say "what" over and over
Paisley we love you!

I love everything about having twins. They are such a blessing and I am beyond thankful and grateful for my two little partners. We love you girlies.

{Burlap Valentines Banner}

I love Valentines Day, but I think decorating for it can be a little tricky. That's why I incorporated my love for burlap with a little Valentine Love. This project only took about an hour from beginning to end and I LOVE the way it turned out. It gives my family room a little more spice to it. Now only a couple more things to give it the perfect outcome for Valentines Day without any cheesiness.

I used my Silhouette to cut out the banner template as well as the heart. And I started tracing and cutting.

Here is how I traced and cut.

I got this super cute fabric that is Valentine-ish and cut out cute hearts.

Next I used my trust glue gun to glue the hearts to it. I would suggest sewing a cute outline in white onto the heart, but I unfortunately don't have time!

I then just strung a little twine thru the burlap and hot glue gunned a little on the back of the burlap to the twine to make it stay in place.

Here is my cute new banner on my t.v. system.

And the finished product. I still have a couple more things to put on here but I love the way it is coming together! And for DIRT cheap. XOXO

{Teething Tips}

It seems that for the past 3 years we have had at least one child teething at all times, and right now is no exception. We have 3 teething at this second. We have 2 year old molars coming in as well as the regular baby teeth coming in for Cruz. I have had a lot of questions on how I deal with a teething baby(ies), so I decided I would compile a list that has really helped US out during the painful time of cutting teeth. Hopefully at least one can help make the experience less painful

~I think the biggest thing is to recognize that it is teething. A lot of times people will think you have to be a specific age to have a baby teethe, and this is not the case. All of my kids have been "early teethers" and luckily I was able to realize that it was teeth and not something else so we could treat the symptoms.

~What are the symptoms of cutting teeth? Drooling, not sleeping, crying, biting, chewing on everything, tender gums, not wanting to eat or drink even their milk, rash around the mouth, runny nose. When teething my pediatrician told me that they could run a light fever, but a fever is a source of infection, and teething is not a source of infection. So if they have a high fever, I would suggest calling and visiting your pediatrician.

~Medicate- Once again, talk to your doctor, but we have always used Ibuprofen as well as Tylenol and it has seemed to help. Orajel can cause temporary relief but my kids never really loved the whole mouth feeling numb. Others prefer Hylands teething tablets, although these have been back and forth ( personally I have never tried these).

~Frozen applesauce rag. I first found this idea on Pinterest, and it seemed to really help. You soak a little of a rag with water and then put a tablespoon of applesauce and then freeze it. My Cruz loved this and relieved his pain as well as gave him something sweet to suck on.

~Popsicle. I absolutely love the slow melt Popsicle's. They are a much smaller version and they melt so slow that I don't have a huge mess to clean up afterwards.

~Some parents find that rubbing a little pure vanilla extract on the baby's gums can soothe the crying child: this home remedy may work in three ways. First, merely rubbing baby's gums can ease the pain by creating opposite pressure; second, the alcohol in vanilla extract will create a warm sensation that is temporarily comforting. The third way this remedy may work is in the calming properties of vanilla itself. Vanilla is known as a soothing yet energizing agent that reduces anxiety and promotes feelings of well-being. Besides that, vanilla has long been used to cure stomach distress: a baby whose stomach is mildly upset from crying or swallowing large amounts of drool may find vanilla soothing to the tummy as well as the nerves. found via

~Teething necklace. These have become quite popular and they are perfect for the teething baby who bites on everything. You can find great ones here:

~Drool Rash. Since most babies teething is accompianed by drool, which sometimes can lead to a rash along their mouth and down their neck. I would suggest using lanolin, or if your child has really sensitive skin using an all natural lotion, like Made from Earth skincare products. Make sure to pat dry around the neck as well and dry well after you notice drool in the neck.

~Baby Toys. There are non-toxic organic toys specifically for baby to chew on. My babies would slobber on every toy they could reach, so it’s a relief to know that there are safe things for them to stick in their mouths!

So this past week did not involve any really getting ready to be quite honest. So i decided I will do a what i would have hoped to wear wednesday. Looks I love...

I just wanted to take a moment and write about my sweet 10 1/2 month old. When I found out I was pregnant, {again} I was terrified and wondered how on earth I was going to do 4 2 and under. This little boy has been the biggest blessing and we are so lucky that he decided to come when he did. He is a little angel baby.

Cruz truly is the best, and most happy baby that I ever have been around. He is a great sleeper and is such a mommy's boy. He constantly wants to be held and is completely and utterly loved by everyone. Dave and I always say I wonder how many kisses little Cruz gets a day from the 5 of us alone. He NEVER cries, and loves his siblings.

Cruz started crawling at 10 months and is quite happy with himself. Although he would prefer to be held still he is much more content getting where he needs to go when mom is busy with the other kids. He still says, "mama" all the time and is quite busy although he is sly and quiet when he is into trouble. He loves the back stopper on the walls for the doors, and still loves to have some of mommy's coke, (whoops)! He loves to eat and has NO desire to have baby food at all.

We LOVE his chubby legs. How could you not? He is very ticklish and gives kisses that usually turn into biting because he can't get enough of you. I think he looks like his mama but others think he looks like dada. Mom is completely obsessed with this little chunk, and he knows it.

He loves to walk with his juppy wings, and we were shocked that he didn't walk first before crawling. Cruz loves to giggle at anything his brother and sisters do and they still love their little buddy.

He truly melts every single one of us and can get whatever he wants from one of us. He has us all wrapped around his chubby little hands. He is constantly teething. He never cries or is sad from it but this kid has a mouth full of teeth; 7 teeth!

Now that he crawls he is constantly following mom around if not being held. Loves to clap and give 5's to everyone that will play with him. Cruz also is very good at doing "soooo big".

Cruz, we love you and cannot imagine life without you. We are so thankful for your sweet little personality every day. I can't believe you are almost 1! We all love you!

Sorry for being MIA this past week. I had a couple scary things that came up with this little princess Paisley. It all started Monday night. We took our kids to Carl's Jr. to go and have nuggies and play in the play place. While Paisley was up at the top, she started screaming. It was a scream so loud and scary that I climbed up there and got her back down. She was terrified. Her heart was pounding and her you could tell she was honest to everything scared out of her little mind. Dave and I brushed it off and realized maybe she just saw something that made her nervous.

Fast forward to Wedneday and she woke up and right away she started doing the scream again. Except this time I could see her and her reaction. It was almost like she was hallucenating. When she would do this she would scream and look straight ahead and was scared. After doing this 3 different times at 3 different locations I got nervous and called my mom. I told my mom that Paisley was acting weird and she kept looking at something when nothng was there and scream. The best word I could describe it as was hallucenating. My mom and sister Chelsea came over and brought lunch to see what they thought.

In between these little "episdoes" Paisley acted fine after she calmed down. My mom and Chelsea saw one epidsode when they were here and my mom said that it reminded her of when Jazmin (my sister with type one diabetes) goes low. Right away my mom said just watch her and keep an eye on her. She went down on for a nap and when she woke up the episdoes started becoming more frequent and more severe. Dave cacme home from work and right away she had one and this time she hunched over and held on to her right side. She wouldn't let go of her side and I had a gut feeling I needed to take her right then. This was about 4 pm. I called my doctor earlier in the day but he had not recieved my message yet and Dave called again. I didn't wait and just decided that this could be something serious.

The whole way up to Primary Children's she hunched over in her carseat and had her right hand over her right side. I called my mom on the way up there and she met me there. Chelsea who is a registered nhurse in the NICU also met me up there. At this point I knew it could be appendicitis but was not sure. We got up there and right away they took us back. After examing her and seeing a couple of epsidoes she was having they also decided that it was not appendicitis but they needed to do some x-rays. We were there for about 4 hours and they concluded that she has intestinal incepetion. This is basically when at any time the bowel in some way over laps itself. They think that she will grow out of it and we just have to continue to watch her and make sure she doesn't get backed up in the bowel area. We are on a maylax regiman and so far it has helped immensley. I asked why she was screaming and in a sense hallucenating and they say it proably was because of the severe amount of pain that it was scacrring her and she doesn't understand that it was her body, she believed it was something hurting her. Breaks your heart right? So we are thankful for the support of family and that it was nothing more serious. I am thankful we have such an incrediable children's hospital so close to our house. This could of been so severe and I am thankful that we were able to get this taken care of before something more serious. Thank you everyone for all the concern. I will be back this week in full force :)

Hi all you Imperfectly Perfect readers! I'm super excited to be here. Especially since Danielle and I are actually real life friends, not just blogging friends. We grew up in the same neighborhood, and even played on the same soccer team. I love it when I'm real life friends with my blogger friends too :)

I have always loved desserts. Not just eating, but making them too! However, recently I decided to sharpen my homemaking skills and make dinner more consistently...not the same five recipes over and over again, new ones! Gradually, cooking has become a hobby and creative outlet that I love, and MBR has given me the opportunity to share my experiences with you! I post lots of recipes so come swing by when you get a chance.

As a mom myself I know how difficult it can be to find time to eat breakfast let alone make it! I love Yoplait's Triple Berry Smoothie's you can buy in the store because they're so fast and easy, but they're a little pricey. So I started experimenting with some different ingredients and came up with an easy, homemade recipe that I love.

Total Recipe Cost: $4.35

Servings Per Recipe: 4 (1 cup each)

Cost Per Serving: about $1.08 each

My husband only likes Yoplait yogurt (picky right? haha) so this recipe could cost less then $1 each if you get a generic brand.

Yoplait Smoothie's cost $2.01 per serving (both prices include milk used)

That's $0.93 in savings!div>

Yoplait Triple Berry Fruit Smoothies

Ingredients

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 medium banana

1T agave nectar/honey

2-1/2 cups frozen fruit

Directions

Place yogurt, banana and agave nectar in a blender. Cover; blend on high until smooth

Freeze the yogurt in ice cube trays. 2 tablespoons of yogurt in each cube

Divide your frozen fruit into ziplock bags, 1/2 cup in each

When frozen, place 3 frozen yogurt cubes in each

Add 1/2 cup of milk or 3/4 cup orange juice into the blender with the contents of one bag and blend until smooth. Eat immediately. If it's not sweet enough you can always add a little more agave nectar.

Smoothies are just about the most versatile thing you can make so use your imagination! and stop buying those expensive packets from the store.
