This box was very easy to make by piecing paper together and holding the accordian sides to the box with ribbon through hole punches.

Used PDDU to help my son with this project on "Little House in the Big Woods". Popsicle sticks from the $ tree came in very handy, as did the pizza pan from the $ tree.

This album was made with Locker Talk and Cuttin' Up for the title. I used the bind-it-all to spiral bind it.

Used the pets stack from DCWV and my bind-it-all to make this. Cut "charlie" out with Cuttin 'Up and then ran it through the cuddle bug with the bubbles folder.

WIMG Screen Shots

For those of you who have a hard time figuring out what designs are where on the keypads, I created a word doc of jpegs of all the screen shots on WIMG. There are 2 screen shots per page so they are big enough to actually identify the designs.

Hope I've made someone's life easier!

Magnetic Chore Chart

I thought of this idea to make my own magnetic chore chart for my kids Don't look too close because it's not perfect. The back of the round magnets leave a little residue/stain on the paper when you play around with them too much. I used a cookie sheet from the dollar store and "cuttin up" with "George" to make the words and boxes.

Some tips if you are going to try this:

*Design out what you want on paper first

*Create one chart per child

*Cover the decorated paper with a clear transparency

*There is no good way I have found to adhere the ribbon on the sheet to support the weight of the chart so you can pop a small nail through the upper left and right corners to support it and use the ribbon (mine was duct taped to the back) just for decoration.

* Make sure you hang it in a spot where everyone will see it and the kids will return to often enough to move the magnets to "done" when they are finished.

Box with folded lid

Here is a box that I made since I only have the baby bug and I can't make one big enough to hold anything substantial. I got the idea after making the card accordian box from Dannie's Designs. I wanted to have a sturdier box and I came up with this.

Finished size is approximately 5" tall x 4" wide x 2" deep

Front side:

Cut paper (I used 2 pieces of cardstock spray-glued together) to 8" x 9"

Score at 2" on each side

With paper situated 9" side horizontal, cut the 2" horizontal score line on the bottom left and right.

Fold those squares in and glue down.

Fold the top scored section down toward the inside of the box so the front of your box has a finished edge.

Your box should now look like a front and it's time to make the back.

Back:

Cut paper (I used coordinating cardstock with the front, also 2 pieces of cardstock spray-glued together) to 8" x 11".

Score just like the front at 2" intervals all around.

With paper situated 8" side horizontal, add an additional horizontal score line 4" down from top of paper.

Cut the 2" horizontal score lines (3 on the left and 3 on the right).

Fold the bottom squares in and glue down.

This is hard to explain, but I'll try. The top square on left and right should be folded and glued down to the second squares in order to form the lid for the box.

Assemble the rest of the box by fitting the back of the box into the front of the box. You can attach by using sticky tape or, like I did, using eyelets.

The box can now be decorated and is sturdy enough to hold cards, paper scraps or whatever you can fit inside!

Picture Clip Holder

Here's a project I just finished. I found painted words (ie. "smile") on clearance at Michaels for $1 and I thought I could turn it into something fun. I glued mini clothespins with hot glue on the back of the word and then glued it on a piece of wood, The word wouldn't stand on it's own so my husband routed out a piece of wood and I glue gunned the word in the center. I then painted the "stand" and added some rub ons and a few cute cricut flowers. All you have to do next is add a picture and decide who to give it to! Below is one I made for Mother's Day.

Frame Cards

Here's one of my favorite frame cards. I've practiced with a few different ways of doing this and I found the easiest way to make the cut is to use thin paper for the frame overlay and gluing it to a thin piece of chipboard that I glued contrasting paper to. Even thin chipboard doesn't seem to cut really well unless you're using a fresh blade. I then made a second cut to add a little something to the girl, present and hat. I've looked everywhere for stickles but since I haven't had luck, I just used regular glitter glue and smeared it in with my finger.

Window Cards

Here's one of the first window cards I made. I cut a small piece of clear transparency sheet and glued it to the inside iof the card. I then used a small piece of glitter cardstock and glued it to the transparency. I covered the whole inside page with a piece of white paper so it would look finished. If you haven't tried the new glitter cadstock (comes in 4x6 stack, DCWV), you should! It has amazing colors and the glitter doesn't come off when you touch it.
