		Correct race details for Thursday&#039;s Ft. Rich Circuit Race:</p>
<p style="text-align: left">
		<strong>Race Description</strong>: This is a circuit race on Ft. Rich circumnavigating Bryant Army Airfield: route starts West on Ruff Rd, behind inspection area; right on to Tuma Rd; follow Tuma to Randall Rd, left on Randall; Right onto Davis Hiway; right onto Ruff Rd and follow it through Camp Denali back to Start line. (1 loop = 4.25)</p>
<p>		<em>This is the same course used in the 2009 Tour of Anchorage&nbsp;and the time trial in last month&#039;s Spring Stage Series&#8211;flat and fast and fun!!</em></p>
<p>		<strong>Parking/Staging</strong>:&nbsp; When you enter through the Ft. Rich gate you will take the first right through the concrete barriers&nbsp;(hopefully labeled Ruff Rd).&nbsp; Look for us staged down they way about half a mile on the lefthand side of the road.</p>

		<span style="font-size: 12pt">This note is going to those who have expressed interest in the&nbsp;<b>Special Users Emphasis Area</b>&nbsp;and those we believe who might be interested but have not responded to earlier inquiries.&nbsp; The Special Users EA includes those interested in traffic safety for:</span></p>

			<span style="font-size: 12pt">Bicyclists</span></li>
<li>
			<span style="font-size: 12pt">Pedestrians, and</span></li>
<li>
			<span style="font-size: 12pt">Motorcyclists</span></li>
</ul>

		<span style="font-size: 12pt">&nbsp;</span></p>
<p>
		<span style="font-size: 12pt">In the next few months, elements of the Strategic Traffic Safety Plan (formerly Strategic Highway Safety Plan or SHSP), such as&nbsp;<b>strategies, action steps, and performance measures&nbsp;</b>will be developed and incorporated into the update.&nbsp; Our Emphasis Area team will meet periodically (via teleconference) over the summer to work out these elements.&nbsp; Our effort will culminate in&nbsp;<b>Team Meetings #2, August 16-18 in Anchorage</b>, an in-person session where we&rsquo;ll hammer out the final details of the Special Users Emphasis Area update.&nbsp;</span></p>

<p>
		Course Objectives:</p>
<p>
		<strong>1) Learn to ride with confidence on the terrain of your choice.</strong></p>
<p>
		Whether you want to be ride down a gentle grassy slope, gravel trail, or you want to conquer sick dog gnarly, rooty single-track, we will provide instruction to meet your riding goals with better technique, and, hence, confidence.</p>
<p>
		<strong>2) Learn basic bicycle maintenance and field repair.&nbsp;</strong>You will learn basic bike maintenance to keep your ride as&nbsp;trouble free as possible from the outset. You will also learn how to make some basic repairs to your bike in the field.</p>
<p>
		<strong>3) Learn to ride comfortably.&nbsp;</strong>You will become more familiar with how your bicycle should feel and fit and what kinds of adjustments you can make to enhance your comfort and riding enjoyment.</p>

	Your Commitment<br />
	As an Anchorage Trail Watch Ambassador, you will agree to patrol a segment of the<br />
	trail system on an scheduled basis for at least 2 hours each week. You will be issued<br />
	a new Ambassador Safety Vest upon completion of the training. Wear it proudly while<br />
	helping make Anchorage&rsquo;s trails safer for everyone.<br />
	Trail Watch is a Municipality of Anchorage, Dept. Of Parks &amp; Recreation volunteer program.</p>

<p>	WE NEED RACERS!</p>
<p>	This Saturday &#8211; &nbsp;April 23rd, 11:00am<br />
	<span style="font-size: small">Kick the season off with us!</span></span></b></span></span></div>

	<strong>There are only 75 racers singed up so far! This is ABC&#039;s largest event of the season and this years goal is to sign up 120 racers.&nbsp;</strong><br />
	This&nbsp;is a great kick off race for the season and&nbsp;perfect practice for the Bike for Women and the Gold Nugget Triathlon.</p>
<p>	<strong>Help us start the 2011 season off with a strong race.</strong><br />
	Recruit, recruit, recruit your friends and family members to sign up!&nbsp;</p>

	<em>Remember, Registration is only $18 online and $25 on day of race. Online registration will close at 8pm Friday.&nbsp;&nbsp;</em></p>
<p>	Registration and check in on the day of race will start at 9:30 AM and end at 10:30 AM.<br />
	<em>Please come early and do not plan to sign up after 10:30.</em><br />
	<em>All racers must check in by 10:30 (even if you signed up online)</em>.<br />
	Registration will close promptly at 10:30 so we can post start lists, and prepare for 11am race start.</p>
