Trading Plan for Friday

Well I hope you all made money prior to the election, I took a break the week prior and resumed yesterday. SPY puts made some cash :D. At this point it's a tricky market, not worth taking new positions in until action points are hit. So if you're in cash, it was a smart move and a smart place to stay until some actionable moves happen. Let's look at tomorrow!

Trading Plan for Friday -

CYNO - Basing here below this resistance, next buy/add when clears on heavy volume. One can short if it breaks the ascending trend line.

NFLX - Also basing right below resistance (gray) and the 200d. When clears on heavy volume, go long.

AAPL - A normally resilient stock that looks like it may want even lower. Possibly a bounce here at the FIB 50% retrace. If it breaks this on heavy volume it's down to 500 pretty quick (slight support at 515ish)

GOOG - Hitting this next support. If/when it breaks on volume, it's very short-able.

SPY - Breaking the 200d on heavy volume. These are the next action points both ways. I will continue to take money off the table into the downward strength, and retake my position if it breaks the ascending trend line.

AEGR - This is a 5m chart, it's the most relevant. All of the support/resistance of the previous chart remains the same. When it breaks this descending trend line one can add

SPY - This green line is the next support before we test the 200d. If we get back near the red resistance line and look weak, I'll buy some puts.

AAPL - If we break this support then we're headed sub $600... If you're a bottom buyer this may be an ok entry with this support as a stop, good risk/reward

GOOG - If we break this support we're headed to $650... That said, good risk reward from here if it continues to hold I may dip my toes

ARNA - Looking like it wants to break down, volume lacking as it tries to hold a trend line. Though, wait for the break on volume for any action either way.

Liquidated most all of my positions last week, with $SPY puts and $CLF being the biggest positions I had going into the week.

LULU - This one is toast, breaking down on HUGE volume. Watch this next big support.

BIDU - With earnings coming up this is one to avoid, could go either way.. support/TL are the next action points on this one

IOC - Watch how this one acts when within this channel of support. Pretty strong with the 200d inside of it

OXY - If it breaks this support again, it's headed much lower imo...

AEGR - Breaking higher, looks like it may be close to taking a rest. Here are all of the major support/resistance areas for the current run

SPY - Breaking down on heavy volume, should test this support soon... I have a hunch we get back over the 50d once more though

ORLY - It's making up its mind here (looking like a downward spiral) if the market rolls over it's time for some shorts/puts.

SHLD - If it breaks this trend line on volume I'll be taking a short position

Trading Plan for Thursday, 10/18 -

ZGNX - Looking good, hitting this minor resistance area. Next buy/add when makes new highs on heavy volume.

SCMP - Holding the breakout, needs to keep above this support. Next buy add when clears the next resistance area (green line)

ZAGG - Getting close to decision time now... keep a close eye...

OVTI - These are the action points I'd be watching. Short on a break of the ascending trend line, long on the break of both the resistance (horizontal) and the descending trend line. All on volume of course.

SPY - This is the trend line I'm watching, if it breaks on volume I'll sell my calls and run with my tail between my legs... The more it looks like Mitt Romney will win, the more sustainable these gains will be, imo.

CLF - Held the break out, now clearing this next resistance area on good volume. Closed right near the HoD, looking good for more gains. Was underwater for a few days on this one, glad it ended up working out.

The Truth About Which Party is Better on the Economy?

Charts will be foregone tonight in order to explain to all of my followers the evidence supporting the idea that the Republicans are better on the economy than are democrats.

First you must realize that the president is no king here in america, he has to deal with the house and senate to get anything done. If the presidency belongs to one party but the house and senate belong to the other, the house and senate are calling the shots. In short who ever is controlling 2/3's or greater is getting their way.

You should all know by now I don't trust the main stream media in trading, nor do I trust them in political matters. I don't trust the right leaning media explicitly, but they've got a better track record than the MSM. What I prefer is MY OWN RESEARCH. I'm not afraid to spend some time finding the facts.

So here they are:

Dems took over 2/3 of the government in 07:
-Avg unemployment rate of 7.7% with a high of 9.6% (2010) and a low of 4.6% (2007)
-From the beginning of their stewardship to 2011 there was a loss of 4.3%.
-During this time GDP grew at an average rate of 0.55% with a high of 3.02% (2010) and a low of -3.53% (2009).
-There were two years of GDP contraction.

Republicans controlled 2/3 of government from 95 to 06.
-Average unemployment was 5.02% with a high of 6% (2003) and a low of 4% (2000)
-From the beginning to the end of their stewardship there was an improvement of +1.0%.
-During this time GDP grew at an average of 3.25% per year with a high of 4.87% (1999) and a low of 1.09% (2001)
-There were zero years of GDP contraction.

From 87 to 94 dems controlled 2/3 with an avg unemployment rate of 6.24% with a high of 7.5% (92) and a low of 5.3% (89) from the beginning to the end of their stewardship an overall improvement of +0.1%. During this time GDP grew at an average of 2.82% with a high of 4.1% (87 and 94) and a low of -0.26% (91), there was one year of GDP contraction.

From 1981 to 1986 reps controlled 2/3
-Average unemployment rate of 8.1% with a high of 9.7% (83) and a low of 7% (86)
-From the beginning to the end of their stewardship there was an improvement of +2.7%.
-During this time GDP grew at an average of 3.28% with a high of 7.19% (84) and a low of -1.98% (82)
-There was one year of GDP contraction.

It's obvious which sides policies are good for the economy. Theres been a trend here, reps hand over a good economy, dems destroy it, reps fix it, dems destroy it.

Trading Plan for Tuesday, 10/9 -

NFLX - Well it gapped over our next buy/add area if you weren't nimble enough to buy fridays short lived breakout (I wasn't). This grey line is our next buy/add area. The volume and price on this look good to test it.

RFMK - Bouncing off the 10d and holding above the 200d. Next buy/add when clears this descending trend line on heavy volume (at least double avg daily for a sub-penny).

SRPT - This single line is all that stands between this stock and $19. That said, would make a great short if it breaks on heavy volume, or one can go long with this line as a stop.

AAPL - This ascending trend line NEEDS to stay intact. If it breaks $618 is right around the corner and after that $600. Next buy/add when clears the descending trend line.

CLF - On the cusp of a buy point, a good FTD tomorrow on heavy volume will be great confirmation. These lines are the action points for longs and shorts. Long could see $45 quickly.

VLO - Holding this ascending trend line for now, a break of either is actionable. Volume says it breaks down...

DECK - This stock is broken until it can clear one or both of these areas (lines). May make a good short on pops.

IOC - This one is basing, as long as it holds the lower support it should be good in the long term. Next buy/add area when clears the descending trend line.

SHLD - Getting close to making a descision, a break either way on volume is actionable.

Trading Plan for Friday, 10/05

NFLX - This is the picture perfect setup. Nice breakout yesterday, even better follow through day as far as volume is concerned and at the precipice of breaking the next resistance. Once it gets through the green line, that's the next buy point.

BAC - Breaking this next resistance area on avg volume. Keep a close eye on this one, it could very well find its way back to $10 soon.

GOOG - Breaking out of this channel today to new highs, but the conviction (volume) is lacking, this one needs to be watched for a good FTD (Follow Through Day) for confirmation.

CNX - Nice move, almost 6% today. Here are my lines in the sand for longs and shorts on this one...

CPRX - Overall bearish for now (volume says it all), probably looking to fill that gap. If it can break through that upper line of this channel on good volume, it may be worth a look long.

SPPI - This one is holding on to the uptrend, A good risk reward long from here if comfortable with buying bottoms. I would consider a long when it breaks this green line (resistance area) on heavy volume. The lighter volume here near the trend line is good, means there aren't a lot of sellers at these prices. If it breaks the TL on heavy volume one could grab a few short.

NVDA - Nice breakout on decent volume. Watch for this one to break through the 200d on heavy volume, that's the next buy/add area.

PCLN - Looking primed for a breakout, when this trend line breaks go long.

NFLX - Nice breakout on heavy volume. Watch for a good follow through day tomorrow. Next buy/add when clears the $66 area.

MLNX - Needs to get back into this uptrend

GOOG - Continuing to base here after a monster run. Next buy/add when breaks this channel on heavy volume.

AAPL - Holding up better than I expected, volume is light though. Keep on watch.

ZAGG - Watch how this acts when it hits this trend line.

SAAS - Broke out on lighter volume again yesterday, but had a nice follow through day on heavy volume, confirming the breakout. More to come imo.

BAC - Heading up to test this resistance. Keep a close eye on this one.

ZAGG - Getting rejected here, keep these resistance areas and trend lines on watch

GOOG - Basing here after a monster run. A rest is good for this one. Still waiting to re-enter.

AAPL - Indecision on this one, doji candle today, I'm leaning bearish due to that downward curling 20d.

EXPE - Watch this resistance area and this trend line, a break of either on volume is an actionable move, of course long you need to watch the old highs as well.

S - Ouch, this one is toast. Avoid unless short or scalping.

FOSL - Nice little channel to play here, a break either way on volume will make a nice swing trade.

Recap - The market has enjoyed a nice pullback the last few days, but it's looking like it may be ready to continue upward soon.

Trading Plan for Thursday, 9/27 -

GMCR - At this next support, if the market is ready to go up this may get a nice bounce and break out again.

FOSL - Also near support. Watch for a similar bounce or rally.

LULU - Broke this support, but holding the 20d. Keep an eye on how it acts tomorrow, if it can get back over that resistance it may head for some new highs.

LVS - Next buy/add area when clears 200d on heavy volume

GOOG - 5m chart showing where I was stopped out (protect your profits) and where I'll buy back in tomorrow if it continues upwards. Yes I'll gladly miss out on a few $ for the security of cash.

AZO - Nice little falling wedge here. Be ready when it breaks out.

NFLX - Holding this support, but if it fails look out below... a break of the descending trend line would show some strenght, not much but some...

OVTI - See that red volume, it's still got room to go down much further. Weak hammer candle today so it may be near bottoming out. Not looking too hot though...

ZAGG - Breaking down further after a rejection at resistance and the 50d. This reinforces the tight stop if buying before the breakout, but I have a hunch this may bounce alright soon, just a hunch though...

CNX - Probably a good short, especially if the market fools everyone and continues downward.

S - This one is acting like it wants to continue higher, one can buy/add when it clears new highs on heavy volume

NOV - Keep an eye on this triangle, if it breaks on volume, play the break.

GLD - Keep watching this one, looks poised for more movement to the upside

LNKD - Holding above these old highs, getting ready for more imo

SBUX - Getting rejected initially, but keep an eye on this one. The moving averages and the trend line are the action points.

LULU - Holding up here, if this breaks on volume (either direction) its an actionable play

AMZN - Making a nice little base here, watch this area and play accordingly

MLNX - Holding above this trend line after basing for a few days. Clearing the 20d and filling the gap. Watch for a good Follow Through Day (FTD)

GCI - Making multi-year highs on awesome volume. Have to go back to 09 to see current resistance and what the initial buy should have been. This lower line is what the initial buy point was, the upper line is the next add area, and the next buy/add is when it clears 20 on heavy volume.

FDP - Textbook breakout with a nice FTD. Next buy/add when it clears new 52 week highs.

GOOG - This was our last buy point, continuing on up. Looking good for more gains. Not a time to buy/add until it bases again.

SBUX - Watch this trend line, volume says it'll get rejected for now, but with QE3 it may punch through. Shortable on a rejection buyable on a breakout with volume.

ORLY - Same as SBUX, keep a close eye on these two.

STX - Watch this triangle, a break on volume is actionable.

WFC - Good solid uptrend, these are the kind you buy on the pullback and use the trend line as your stop.

AMZN - Making a nice little base on base pattern here, looking good.

LULU - Nice little cup w/handle developing here. Keep a close eye on this one, gotta love the cup formation.

NFLX - Couldn't close over the 20d friday, but gave an alright effort. Next buy/add area when clears fridays highs (58.18) on heavy volume.

BRCM - This one looks a little iffy, it had plenty of volume but no price action. A lot of resistance at 37, which will be the next buy/add area.

LIFE - Good volume pushing back above the 20d. Next buy/add when clears this resistance on heavy volume

ROST - Trend line held firm, needs to hold above the 50d here. One could buy with a nice tight stop or wait for the 50d to hold and grab on the 20d break.

EQIX - Probably going to fill the gap here, keep an eye on this trend line, if it holds I may nibble a few long.

YOKU - Nice big price movement on heavy volume. Next buy/add when clears 200d on heavy volume.

CXO - Looking good since breaking out Thursday, Next buy/add when clears 104-105 on heavy volume.

LNKD - Making new highs on solid volume, gotta love these plays

LVS - Watch this one as it approaches the 200d. Next buy point when ti clears 200d on heavy volume.

VMW - Putting some nice gains on the board, clearing our next buy/add area on Friday. watch this one Monday for it to hold this breakout.

JIVE - Watch this one, short under this support, long over the 20d.

QCOM - Looking good, +2.50 since the initial buy point. Watch as it approaches this next resistance (our next buy/add area)

CRM - Looking nice since the initial buy point, next buy/add area when it makes new 52's on volume

BIIB - Making new highs on great volume, perfect setup.

CNX - Watch the 200d and this TL, you know what to do :)

BEAM - Watch for the break on this TL, may have a good short opp.

ORLY - Short continues to work well since breaking down on heavy volume Thursday. This one wants lower, much lower imo.

AZO - Breaking down wonderfully, much lower prices to come. Avoid unless short :)

Recap - Well today started out boring, but ended with quite a bang. Tomorrow will tell if these breakouts we bought can hold on to their gains! Well on to the trading plan!

Trading Plan for Friday, 9/14 -

NFLX - This is an interesting play, while new 52 wk lows were made about 5 weeks ago, this has put in a pretty good base. One could buy long here and keep a tight stop. The next real buy area is when it clears the 20d and/or the descending trend line on heavy volume.

MMM - Nice price action today, but really needs to get back over the 20d and that descending trend line. Trend is your friend, and the trend is down until it's not. Needs a higher high and higher low.

UTX - This one just break this downtrend. One can watch this one tomorrow for a solid FTD (follow through day) and go long. The volume is alright, not spectacular, but better than avg.

LF - This one is toast. Avoid the dead cat bounce at the 200d for anything other than a quick day trade.

BAC - This one really liked QE3. Probably headed back into the 10 area. Nice breakout through resistance.

CNX - Watch this one, it may finally be ready to get back above the 200d and this descending trend line, and when it does, it could be a hell of a run.

CRM - Today was a good confirmation day, continue to hold long , next stop is the 159-160 area, then on to new highs!

QCOM - A nice breakout day today on good volume. Watch for a good FTD

GS - It'll be interesting to see if this can hold on to the breakout. It was on fair volume, but not great. keep an eye...

GLD - Those dollars of ours keep losing value like crazy, gotta love QE3 lol

GMCR - A lot of angry people out there on this one. Hate all you want, but this one is holding on to the breakout and volume is melting as it consolidates... you know what that means don't you?

SWKS - This one looks like it wants to test this TL still... watch for a break on heavy volume.

ORLY - Well it broke this symm triangle on heavy volume... time to head lower

Recap -
Today was one of those days, some stocks looked promising and failed to deliver, it happens. One thing is for sure this business has its ups and downs. I ended green on the day but it wasn't a very good showing. Well onto the trading plan:

Trading Plan for Thursday, 9/13

BIDU - To the bull side, it needs to get back over 113 to be a solid long play. On the bear side, if it breaks below this lower support line (104.50ish) it will probably make new 52's. The 20d and volume say this is a bearish play.

SHLD - This TL is the line in the sand. The volume isn't great, but we'll take it.

PANL - A good chance this is a false breakout (volume) but keep an eye on it for a good follow through day (FTD)

SODA - This one may attempt to break out of its cage. Keep a close eye on intraday volume tomorrow if it does make the move.

LNKD - Definitely one to watch tomorrow, the light volume and holding price area after big gains says this wants to break through this resistance area. But until it does anything is possible. Price and volume will tell us what to do.

AAPL - Reclaiming the 20d on good volume after yesterdays loss. The 20d is your line in the sand for shorts and the high is the line in the sand for longs.

CRM - May make a good long if it can get a solid FTD tomorrow.

VMW - Holding up well, an ok FTD. Next buy/add when clears 99-100 on heavy volume

AZO - 375 is the next buy/add area on this one. The 20d is starting to perk up, keep a close eye.

GOOG - Bounced nicely off the 20d, expect to see the highs one more time.

KFT - Will it bounce? or will it break? watch this one closely for the break on volume or the bounce on volume.

BAC - Touching this old resistance and getting rejected hard. Watch tomorrow for confirmation of the rejection.

SWKS - Another that looks like it may be ready to break down, watch the trend line

Trading Plan for Wednesday 9/12 - Pretty good day today, AAPL and GMCR made plenty of cash for us. Here's what we're looking at for tomorrow:

AAPL - Classic double top, breaking down through the 20d on good volume. It's a pretty safe bet that this wants to try the 50d and possibly this old trend line. Good short opportunity for a swing trade imo.

GMCR - Holding above this resistance with some solid volume. Looks like it may want the 200d

BAC - In this channel, if it can break out it may make some more solid gains.

JIVE - Possible double bottom here, but I doubt it...

VMW - Breaking this descending trend line, but the volume leaves a little to be wanted. Watch for a good follow through day (FTD) and go long with a tight stop.

WDC - This one may hold up here. next buy/add when clears 20d and this resistance on volume.

PANL - Like I said yesterday, this one may be ready for a little rally. Watch the trend line.

DE - Keep an eye on this one, looks like it may be setting up for some movement to the upside

YUM - Watch for a shooting star or the like, otherwise this looks alright for a small long position

ORLY - Don't forget this falling wedge... she can move fast.

POT - This bad boy may be getting ready for some parabolic movement, keep on watch

Trading Plan for Tuesday, 9/11

GMCR - This one is looking good, the volume is picking up as it rises above the 20d and is testing this upper resistance area. One can nibble if it continues through this resistance on good volume.

SODA - Keep an eye on this one, volume is picking up and price is following. Next buy/add area when clears this descending trend line on volume.

ORLY - Nice little falling wedge patern here, keep on watch

YUM - This one may get rejected, but keep it on your watch list. Needs to clear this descending trend line on heavy volume.

ALLT - The old favorite, brought to you at $18. This one looks like it wants to test $30. One can nibble a few long if it breaks above this resistance tomorrow on heavy volume

PANL - Just keep this one on your watch list, if it can clear this descending trend line on heavy volume it may be worth a bite

APA - This resistance and the 200d are the next two buy/add areas. Watch the volume closely.

QCOM - This ones always been good to me, when it clears this trend line on heavy volume, go long

JIVE - Making new 52 wk lows, they usually continue that trend for a while, worth a short imo.

SPY - Watch how it acts around this old support area, then play accordingly

BIIB - Rock solid ascent, this one is a buy on the pullback with this ascending trend line as a stop

LNKD - This resistance area is the next buy point, once its cleared on heavy volume

AAPL - This one is at a decision point, if it breaks the 20d it will visit the 50d, and that's what volume is saying it wants to do. keep a close eye.

Wow, what a week! Had the perfect straddle Friday, covered all my short positions and all of my put positions, and all cash! Time to let the market work of this extremely oversold reading, and get capital moved around to maximize whatever comes our way next (probably more downside, but time will tell). On to what we are looking at this week!

All of the analysis below is subject to exclusion should the market bounce (I believe it will) and should be viewed as a longer term analysis.

Trading Plan for 5/21-5/25 -

AAPL - starting to look a little bit better (but still ugly). Big volume holding up above this next support line. This is one to keep on watch for how it acts... If it seems to hold up above this line or fridays lows, go long with this support as a stop. If it breaks on heavy volume, look to test sub $500.
ADBE - This one looks done, probably a good one to short on any pops
AMZN - Another good one to short on any bounces, once they start into the gap, they usually fill.
CNX - Nailed this one. Check my last post (and a few prior to that) volume said this one wanted new 52 wk lows, it's getting them. More to come imo....
GOOG - This one looks like it wants lower as well, watch for another break below this trend line on heavy volume and grab some puts.
JIVE - This one wants lower imo, breaking this support on heavy volume. If/when it breaks the TL on heavy vol, short.
K - Keep an eye on this one, if it breaks this triangle on heavy volume play accordingly...
LF - Could have a good bounce in it, filled this gap and rallied. If it clears the 20d on heavy volume one can nibble long.
ORLY - Stick a fork in this one, headed much lower.
SBUX - Avoid this one, it's headed to 49.50ish...
SPY - This is a 5m chart, I am watching this trend line to start a call play on this stock. IF it can clear this on heavy vol, it should have a good bounce for a few days. Of course, chances are high I won't be able to act on this since it will probably be an overnight gap that gets above this.
V - This one is filling the gap, next area to watch is when the gap is filled.
WDC - TOAST! If you've never seen tost, this is it.
WYNN - If this loses 100, I'll grab a short position. But this one looks like it should get a bounce first.
