Summer is finally here! It's time to put on your

Camps:

Can't afford to send your kids to camp

Recruit parents and other kids from

some ways to slash our grocery bill in half.

Grow your own veggies and herbs. If you don't have
a garden you can grow them in your kitchen if there's

My mom use to always tell me "Never go grocery shopping
when you are hungry." That's a surefire way to end up filling
your cart with stuff you don't need and it messes up your budget
plan.

This is one of my favorite ways to shop!
Do you have a bulk shopping club in your
area? Like Sam's Club, Costco's, or BJ's? If
you do it may be a good idea to become a member
especially if you have a big family!

Note:

Bulk shopping clubs usually charge a fee to become
a member. But it's worth it for all the money you'll
save!

Set a Budget:

Set a budget and stick to it:

Separate your food wants from your food
needs when setting your budget. Stick to your
budget so that way you won't over spend.

Last check around 2013 there were 13.1
million identity fraud victims. In fact my
daughters identity was stolen last year. So
that prompted me to write a blog post about
identity theft, in hopes of helping her get her
identity back! Maybe this can help you or
someone you know as well!

So let's get started!

Tip:

Get your free credit reports yearly(at www.annualcreditreport.com )

Tip 2:

Check your bank account twice a week.

Tidbit:

To track transactions, set up email or text alerts,
which most banks and creditors offer for free!

Tip 3:

Purchase identity theft protection!

Don'ts:

Don't conduct business on public wifi.
If you tap into free wireless at cafes,
libraries' or elsewhere, set up different
complex passwords for each of your
financial or personal accounts. Download

Don't:

Leaving financial documents visible is
most common sources of I.D. theft. Shred
unwanted mail, lock away statements that
you must keep. Put mail on hold when you

Allow access to your home technology.

through the technology in your house? Yes

Don't be careless when filling credit card applications.
It's tempting to sign up for store credit cards to get discounts
but it's best to use a digital option because leaving vital
information with a clerk can be risky.

Don't leave your credit cards lying around.

That people looking over your shoulder at the ATM
can snap a photo. They can also snap a photo if you
leave your cards lying around.

Cover up PIN pads and keep cards out of sight.

I love books, don't you? I've always had a love for
reading you can learn so much! I've tried Audiobooks
and Ebooks before but I prefer them the old fashion way!
So are here some ways you can get them for free or low
cost! You can also try audiobooks or ebooks this way.

Of course you can get books here but
the downside is their not yours to keep.
But you can keep them for weeks! You
can also recheck them out if you like!

Did you know?

That the library has book sales that
you can attend? Many times they will
hand out free or very low cost books
instead of hauling them back to the
storage room.

Get free Kindle books:

Do you have a Kindle or Nook?
Well if you do you will be happy to

What is coupon fraud?

Coupon fraud occurs whenever someone
intentionally uses a coupon for a product
that he/she has not purchased.

Coupon Fraud? Neither did we! So we've
decided to write a post about it! Found
some very interesting information! So here
goes! First some do's and dont's of couponing.

Do:

Read the fine print. Always make sure to
follow the terms and conditions printed on
a coupon.

Don't:

Scan or print more than the allotted number
of printable coupons a website allows.

Tidbit # 1

1. Coupons may not be transferred.
2. DND: Do not Double coupons
3. Limit one per household

That counterfeit coupons exist? Yes counterfeit:

Consumers can protect themselves from counterfeit
coupons by never paying money for coupons and using
only using coupons from authorized coupon dealers.

Tidbit# 2

Some signs of coupon scam:

1. Does it sound to good to be true?
2. Are there claims that there are no risk
involved?
3. Are there vague and hostile answers to
your questions?

Tip:

How is coupon fraud committed?

1. Disregarding the manufacturers stipulations.
2. Disregarding expiration dates.
3. Check for the code. You can go to

that it is not a copy or hasn't already been

Tidbit # 3

Don't dumpster dive for the Sunday paper.
It can be dangerous and you could be tresspassing.
Instead ask friends for extra copies, or buy more

Every year especially after Christmas I

go to the clearance section of the stores

and stock up on gifts for everyone in my

family! For upcoming birthdays, graduations,

anniversaries, and of course the next years

Christmas gifts! I have two daughters and

three granddaughters. I always make them

gift baskets for Christmas with the items I

get through out the year. They love em!

Speaking of gift baskets! You'll now see

plenty of gift baskets on sale everywhere

from pharmacies to department stores! If

it has seasonal packaging don't worry just

take them apart and repackage them! For

example if you a beauty Christmas gift set

for 50% off you can remove the packaging

and repackage it with say Valentine' packa-

ging! You could even put it in a heart shaped

basket if you like!

Tidbit:

Look for Hidden Bargains!

Of course Big Box stores will be

cutting prices after the holidays.

But what about stores like craft

stores and florist?!A lot of them

have some the best bargains on

seasonal decor and stocking stuffers!

Stores like Barnes&Noble, Lowe's'

and Old Navy will have everything

marked down 75% sometimes even

more!

Tip:

Head to the back of the store!

January is one of the biggest clearance

months of the year! (July is also a biggie)

Stores are unloading seasonal items to get

ready for spring! Every retailer has a clearance

section so look for display areas at the end of the

aisles as well as at the back of the store. for the

steepest clearance! You will be able to stock up

on toys,housewares, and clothing for up to 90%

Don't look over groceries!

Stock up on kids cereals, cookies, and snacks

that have holiday packaging. These items go on

sale after the holidays! I touched on this back in

I like to go after the candy clearance so that I can

practice on my Candy Bouquets!

That in January the best time to shop for Big

Ticket items is Saturday and Sunday because

sales people are more willing to negotiate because

they think people are more serious because they set

aside their weekend to shop!
