In the spring of 2018, our team rescued Koushila from a small tea shop. When our team found her in the shop, men sat around tables eating and laughing while this precious child washed dishes in a tattered bucket on the cold dirt floor.

The owners of the shop forced this little girl to sweep the shop’s dirt floors, scrub dishes, serve food, clean tables, and complete other duties without payment. Scolded and beaten daily by the shop owners, Koushila was also sexually assaulted by the repulsive and vulgar customers. Koushila worked long days with little food to eat and endured continuous physical and sexual abuse from the owners and their depraved customers.

When our team rescued Koushila from the horrors of the tea shop and brought her into a new life of freedom, her face glowed with a big, beautiful smile that radiated joy. Today, Koushila is free, and she will never again have to worry about abuse or slavery. She lives with a nurturing family where she is healing and growing in freedom. She loves coloring, skipping rope, spending time with her sisters, and playing with her friends. She is currently in sixth grade and enjoys going to school where she studies her favorite subject, language. Her dream is to one day become a nurse, so she can help people. Koushila is thriving in freedom and growing into a beautiful young lady with many dreams about her future.

Orphaned and alone, Saurav searched for work as a young child. With no one to guide him or protect him, he soon found himself trapped working in a brickfield alongside many other children. He quickly realized the horror of his situation; he had become a slave.

The heartless brickfield owners were cruel toward Saurav and the other children. They forced him to work exhausting 14 or more hour days making bricks in the scorching Asian heat. Not only did the slave masters force this precious boy to do hard labor, but they also starved him and beat him daily. Saurav labored and suffered at this brickfield for many years with no payment and no hope of escape.

When our team heard of Saurav’s abuse and enslavement, they rescued him and the other children from the brutalities of the brickfield in the fall of 2019. Finally free and safe, Saurav now lives in a supportive and loving home where he receives good meals, medical care, and an education.

When asked what he wants to be when he grows up, Saurav told the team he doesn’t know, but he shared that he knows he wants to be a good man. Today, Saurav lives in freedom where he will never again make another brick.

When Sony was a little girl, her mother passed away, and her father remarried a hateful and cruel woman. Her new stepmother constantly beat her and forced her to work from dawn until late into the night. Sony’s father never defended her or protected her from her stepmother’s daily abuse. She never received nurturing care, healthy food, or new clothing. Schooling was only a distant dream for Sony.

One day, Sony felt too sick to work, and her stepmother flew into a rage, brutally beating her. Sony cried, but no one saved her from her stepmother’s wrath. After enduring this abuse over and over again, Sony fled from her home at the young age of seven.

Sony worked at several places just to survive, but because of the abuse she suffered, she has difficulty remembering details of her past. She regularly visits a doctor who is helping her cope with the trauma of her past, so she can heal and thrive in freedom.

Before our team rescued Sony, she was working in a small restaurant from early morning until late at night. Among other restaurant chores, she cleaned tables, washed dishes, cooked food, and waited on customers. In return, she was given food and a place to sleep.

The restaurant owners and customers nicknamed her “Lati,” which means “one who cannot speak or hear well.” Because of this, the owners’ sons took advantage of Sony. Every night, Sony lived the same nightmare. The debased and abusive sons sexually assaulted this precious child and used her for their own pleasure. Since she couldn’t speak well, they knew she wouldn’t tell their parents, so they continued to violate her.

However, in February 2018, our team rescued Sony out of this darkness and brought her into a life of hope and freedom. Today, she is full of joy because she lives with a family who loves and supports her. Currently, she is learning how to read, and she loves to pray. One of her favorite things to do is go to church where she sings and dances with other children. Allowed to be a child again, Sony is flourishing in her new life and dreams about the possibilities of her future.

Before this precious child was trapped in slavery, Laxmi lived with her parents and younger brother. When Laxmi was seven, her father left home to marry another woman, which devastated the family. She never saw her father again. Abandoned by her father and, eventually, her mother, Laxmi resided with relatives who forced her to work long, exhausting days in their home. Overworked and unjustly treated, Laxmi also endured sexual abuse at the hands of one of her relatives.

Seeking freedom from her abusers, Laxmi ran away. She thought she found sanctuary when, in another town, a kind family welcomed her into their home, but the love and security she longed for was quickly ripped away. Members of the family violated her. Forced to flee again, Laxmi escaped the family and ran until she came across another town.

A restaurant owner hired Laxmi and offered the illusion of security by giving her good food, new clothes, and a comfortable place to sleep. After only a few weeks, the owner demanded that Laxmi not only work long, hard days but also sold her to vile customers for their pleasure where she endured physical and sexual abuse. If Laxmi refused any of the owner’s commands, the owner beat her.

In March 2018, while Laxmi planned to escape the restaurant, our team located and rescued her from the horrors of the restaurant and its brutal owner.

Finally breaking the cycle of revictimization, Laxmi doesn’t have to run anymore. She is finally free.

Today, Laxmi lives in a safe home with a family who loves, adores, and supports her. Enjoying school and the opportunity to learn, Laxmi dreams about her future and hopes to become a singer. Currently, she sings on the choir team at her church and performed in her church’s Christmas service. Full of joy, Laxmi is growing into a beautiful young woman.

Because of your support, Laxmi has the opportunity to heal, flourish, and live a life of freedom.

In September 2019, Isan was rescued from a hotel in Asia. Isan had been living and working on the streets when the hotel owners promised him a job and a better life at the hotel.

Once he arrived at the hotel, he was forced into labor slavery, receiving only $2 to $3 for an entire month of work. The owners scolded and beat him daily while customers sexually assaulted him.

When we learned of Isan’s tragic situation, our team rescued him from the hotel and brought him to safety and freedom. Now, he lives in a loving home where he receives proper food, medical care, and an education.

Isan enjoys going to school with other children and learning his favorite subject, English. He wants to learn karate, and he dreams of joining the army when he grows up.

Because of your support, Isan lives and thrives in freedom, grateful for the opportunity to be a child again.

As a little girl, Krishala left her home in the mountains to find work in a nearby town. Desperate to support her family, she accepted a job in a cafe/hotel. The owner, a woman, forced Krishala to work long hours in the hotel and took pleasure in rebuking and beating her daily. Subjected to the owner’s verbal and physical abuse, Krishala also suffered sexual assault at the hands of vulgar and brutal men while the owner profited. For two years, Krishala lived this daily nightmare until our team rescued her, along with other children, from the hotel owner’s and customers’ predations.

After Krishala and the other children were rescued, Krishala asked one of our operators a single question: “Are you going to love us?”

Longing for love and security, this precious young girl now lives with a nurturing family who loves and supports her. As she heals, Krishala is learning that she has immeasurable value and that she is greatly loved. Exploring who she wants to become, Krishala shared that her dream is to become a nurse, so she can help those who are hurting.

Because of your support, Krishala will never again be forced to service a customer or beaten at the whim of a merciless owner. She will never again be owned. Krishala is free to heal and thrive. She is free to live her hopes and dreams in the secure embrace of a loving family.
