<p><strong>GREAT QUESTION!!!</strong>   <em>&#8230;so good, I decided to make a blog post out of it.</em></p>
<p><strong>This was my response&#8230;</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;Hey Dr. Humiston,</p>
<p>Thanks for writing.</p>
<p>&#8230;because he&#8217;s showing you that &#8220;Value&#8221; is in the way the package or service  is presented the customer.</p>
<p>For example&#8230;which of these two scenarios looks more valuable in the eyes of a patient.</p>

<p>Mr. Jones, I looked at your exam findings and I can help you with your back pain. You need to be seen 3 X week for the next 4 weeks to get your problem fixed.  Any questions?</p>
<p>&#8230;oh, and by the way, here are some home stretches that you can do that will help you get better faster. I want you to do these at least 10 minutes per day, ok?</p>
<p><strong>OR</strong></p>
<p>Mr. Jones, I spent some very significant time last night going over your exam and x-rays.</p>
<p>After a very in-depth evaluation I have determined that  you do in fact have a problem I can help.</p>

<div>You need to be seen 3X&#8217;s a week for the next four weeks.</div>
<p>Over the course of your care, you are not only going to finally get rid of your back pain, but chances are, you are going to see a significant spike or increase in energy, you&#8217;re going to sleep better and you&#8217;re finally going to be able to play golf again without the worry of your back going out on you in the future or the fear of having this excruciating back pain for weeks at a time.</p>
<div>Mr. Jones, I spent quite some time last night preparing some very  specific home stretching exercises for you.</div>
<p>These stretches are extremely crucial to your quick and speedy recovery.</p>
</div>
<p>These exercises are unique to you and your problem, so please don&#8217;t share these with others in your family.  They are meant to help you an you only.  By doing these stretches, you&#8217;ll definitely see much faster improvement.  &#8230;but in addition to that, you are going  to be more limber than ever before and research shows that people who stretch daily have less arthritis as they get older and their life span is prolonged by as much as 2 years.</p>

<p>I know docs that give recommendations like the 1st example  (and they are either not doing too good, or they are just doing So-So)</p>
<p>&#8230;there is no &#8220;perceived value&#8221; in that first example.</p>
<div>&#8230;but do you see how your &#8220;perception&#8221; changed when you read through the 2nd example?</div>
<p>It&#8217;s all about how you &#8220;package&#8221; your product or service that gives it &#8220;high perceived value&#8221;.</p>
<div>
<p>&#8230;the higher the perceived value, the more patients will be willing to pay you and pay you handsomely.</p>
<p>Does that help?</p>

<p>So here&#8217;s the deal.  If you are not &#8220;Stacking The Benefits&#8221; in your ROF and giving your new patients the &#8220;perception&#8221; that the $3,000 they are about to throw is a GREAT Investment&#8230;.they you are going to lose people&#8230;every time.</p>
<p>I hope you take this practice building advice and implement it into your practice today.  It&#8217;s doesn&#8217;t matter what chiropractic coaching group your with, what Report of Findings your doing, Group Reports or Individual Reports&#8230;this is Marketing 103 and can be applied in any situation and in any industry.</p>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">We commemorate the tragic loss of <strong>3,000</strong> lives on <span style="text-decoration: underline;">9-11-01</span>.</span></p>
<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Very few seem to care if they are even aware of the <strong>60,000</strong> people who were <span style="text-decoration: underline;">killed by Vioxx</span>, according to Merck memos – AND – <strong>that’s just ONE DRUG!</strong></span></p>

<p><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">By the time the drug was pulled from the drug cartel’s shelves – the street level dealers/pushers (of the MD persuasion) racked up $12.5 Billion in sales.</span></p>

<p style="text-align: left;">I recently took a trip to Pennsylvania to see my family.  While I was there (Pittsburgh Area) we I decided to meet up with my very good friend Dr. Joe Tsai.  We decided to get our families together and go have lunch and do some shopping in the Pittsburgh Strip District. (Get your mind out of the gutter, it&#8217;s not that kind of Strip District! lol)</p>
<p>Anyway, before we left for lunch, we stopped by Dr. Tsai&#8217;s office so he could give us the Grand Tour!   I was AMAZED at how geared his office is for patient education, yet not &#8220;overbearing&#8221;!</p>
<p>The video above is footage I shot of his office&#8230;I know you will find it as valuable as I did.</p>

<p>I did some research recently to find out what type of advice people have taken that made a major impact on their career  In other words, what could be considered  the &#8220;Best Business Advice of All Time&#8221; ?</p>
<p>Well, after many long hours of research&#8230;I have come up with the best of the best!!</p>
<p>As for the criteria, I looked for advice that I believed would be most helpful to chiropractors. I tried to avoid the obvious stuff we’ve all heard a thousand times, and also eliminated public quotes, since this is about personal advice, not pithy quotes from famous people.</p>

<li>“You make choices based on what you believe in or what you fear. Guess which one makes you stronger?”</li>

<li>“Be like water &#8211; it will find its way no matter how big an obstacle is placed in front of it.”</li>

</ol>
<p>I would suggest you write these down and hang them somewhere that will allow you to look at them daily.  &#8230;because this is the Advice of Champions!</p>

<p>Look, I know that you probably get bombarded on a daily basis with emails from chiropractic marketers, coaches and practice management  groups all wanting you to sign up for their services or buy their stuff.</p>
<p>And it can get pretty overwhelming at times.</p>
<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1008" title="email-overload" src="http://chiropracticunderground.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/email-overload.jpg" alt="" width="167" height="161" /></p>
<p>Believe me, I get all their emails too.  &#8230;and the truth is, some of the stuff they are promoting is actually really good.   It&#8217;s stuff that will actually help you build a successful practice!</p>
<p>But on the Flip Side of that, there is also a lot of CRAP our there too!</p>
<p><strong>The single biggest issue I see facing both struggling  and successful chiropractors is TOO MUCH INFORMATION.</strong></p>
<p>Too many emails. Too many offers. Too much garbage.</p>
<p><strong>Now it&#8217;s time to limit the amount of information you&#8217;re receiving.</strong></p>
<p><strong>1. </strong>The first thing you need to do is unsubscribe from 90% of the newsletters you are subscribed to. This is NOT optional. If you want to reach your goals, you have to do this.</p>
<p>Simply read the emails you receive for a whole week.</p>
<p><strong>==&gt;</strong> Take note of the newsletters that actually help you, and provide real, actionable information. Those get to stay.</p>
<p><strong>==&gt; </strong>Take note of the newsletters that send you offer after offer after offer. Those have to go.</p>
<p>At the bottom of each email you receive from an AutoResponder should be an &#8220;unsubscribe&#8221; link. By law, it has to be there. So get<br />
rid of the newsletters that cost you money and add to your confusion.</p>
<p>It may be that you decide Dr. Carney&#8217;s Marketing Email Newsletter fits this description. If so, even though we hate to see you go&#8230; You need to unsubscribe.</p>
<p><strong>2.</strong> Now, get yourself a free email account. You can get one from Hotmail, AOL, or Gmail. This is going to be your &#8220;research&#8221;<br />
account&#8230; Used for newsletters ONLY. Unsubscribe from the lists you want to stay on, then resubscribe using the new email account.</p>
<p><strong>3. </strong>Only check this &#8220;research&#8221; account a couple times a week, tops. The goal is to clean up your main email so each time you check it, you aren&#8217;t getting sidetracked with garbage.</p>
