This is the final of the news paper AD , that they came up with and seem into have the aspect of woman in comics empowering them selves

This is the double pages spread for the A listing magazine created by Hannah today. (Below)

2010-04-20T08:45:00.000-07:00

These are just a few companies that i contacted to find about both news paper information and information about magazines, to date still waiting

The newpaper AD.

2010-03-24T13:36:00.000-07:00

This is the news paper advert that was created, tried to incorporate all elements that we missing for example the main subject in an image and seeing as in our documentary we highlighted the fact that wonder woman has been on of the longest struggling comic book characters thought it would be wise to use it connecting our production of
ancillary.

After speaking with my teach I can re-call her giving me a tip about human eye motion.
whilst research into this I found out that it was called Eye tracking, I found out that human eyes tend to read or view in Z pattens. SEARCH EYE TRACKING ON WIKIPEDIA

Example of eye tracking. This is the typical pattern of eye movement during reading. The eyes never move smoothly over still text and images.

The storyboards had to be uploaded in pictures because Google doc do not allow Powerpoint for some reason first i thought was because i did it on Microsoft Office 2010 but then found it's just the server so sorry the pictures are a but strange

Next Poster creation

2010-03-10T09:03:00.000-08:00

This is another draft of of the poster for women in comics

The final production

2010-03-03T05:54:00.000-08:00

This the final production of our documentary

2010-03-01T12:09:00.000-08:00

I finished the draft of the double page spread and i got some feed back aas to what to improve from what i heard. > change the background image > change layout >Change from mini stories to talk about the full documentary and try to keep try to find a better title.

In the News paper advert i have to link the visual to what is being advertised because when i asked people about what they thought they told me that they was not sure what product it was trying to promote.
However they said that they liked the simple background and the colours of the Logo so that might be something to keep in mind when designing in future.

Exclusive

2010-02-21T09:12:00.000-08:00

OK lets play spot the difference, and if you haven't seen it yet well the background image is different and it seems to compliment the news paper advertisement as they both relate to the same thing which is women in comics but lets see when the Teach things of this.

2010-02-21T04:07:00.000-08:00

I just recieved an Email of the draft of the double page spread in the Alisting magazine from Hannah and it look good me thinks, so thanks for that.

The Newpaper AD

2010-02-20T17:20:00.000-08:00

this is the first draft Newspaper advert that we came up with, in this we tried to add everything that we had taken from the research for example the simplisity , during my research i found that people tend to like advertistments which have direction example drawing the eyes from one place to another i also found that people don't like having mountains and mountains of text so i tried to make it as simple as i can with out loosing out any information about the program of what channel it is going to be Aired on.

2010-02-19T03:40:00.000-08:00

This was the first advert idea however on speaking to Hannah she suggested that it might be to complex as there are many areas that the eye has to focus on and that may prove to complex for the reader, she also suggested that the bottom where it was suppose to give info about the program and channel was complex and that " it is hard to read and make out " and so i will to my best to improve t eh over all appearance of it.

> After asking someone about it they said " there are too many places to look" and that it's to confusing for them because they have to be looking all over the place.

2010-02-17T02:44:00.000-08:00

So after doing bref research i found out that for an advert to be good it must have
- Simple and emotive text
-Emotive colours
-The image should go with the topic and back up the product being advertised
and so on..

Quick update

2009-12-04T11:02:00.000-08:00

i was given the task of searching for effective background music for our documentary production so i was thinking considering that our production is based on comics then i should search for rock music non copyright to mention and i don't think that tracks such as dance or upbeat music will work but i will search around on he internet until i find one

we also have filming tomorrow so hopefully it all turns out OK and the cameras don't pick up as much noise as they did before

More editing

2009-11-26T04:23:00.000-08:00

Today i started editing the interview half of the production and what do you know the computers are slow not to mention the fact that it takes forever to save and it does not add the effect to the clip. mmmm so my teacher told me to save the clip then restart the computer so i started to do that when the computer says NO! oh well lets hope that it wont do that again

Newspaper advert

2009-11-25T09:20:00.000-08:00

So i was having a look at Newspaper adverts and other adverts to check the conventions and this is what i found

. they all seem to have the subject in full view
. simple yet informative text
. the sometimes use words like we, everyone, us to create a group mentality
.seem to have emotive colours example yellows , or reds
. large eye catching text to catch the readers attention
.and the most simple thing of all is that when people faces are in the advert they always appear to be smiling i found out that this was to create an emotional response with the readers so hopefully in our newspaper advert we follow some of these conventions
( i know the music i create is not the best )

iNterview

2009-11-25T07:51:00.000-08:00

Yesterday we went filming at the comic book shop where we had to do an interview with the owner of the comic book shop or worker of the comic book shop well one of them, and it was ok we got most of the shots we wanted however im starting to think that the volume was to loud.

we started by taking the LOG ( London over ground ) to Kenton where we go off and caught the bus which took forever by the way

Kenton station on the Bakerloo line

As you can see when were arrived it was not that dark but it was getting there

finally picture of us in action however i turned the camera to focus and moved my hand rather then keep it to( infinite) where the photo's are taken instantly

editing today

2009-11-24T02:15:00.001-08:00

today we started editing for the first time which was good and so far what we have is really good m e thinks
we also have filming today at the comic book shop at 15:30 and lets see how it goes, we are returning back to the comic book shop to carry out the rest of the interview

Motivation level

2009-11-22T14:58:00.000-08:00

this is a level of how motivated i am during the production and our groups meetings and filming and we'll see what we can do to change that

Filming...

2009-11-21T13:27:00.000-08:00

View the shopping center in a larger map

click on the icons on the map to get interactive view of where we filmed and were based,to view the distance from school zoom out to get over view of london

we had filming to film parts of our media production which all and all went well however we encountered so any things that slowed us down i will go through them in a list

1. cars kept coming in our way over and over again
2. It started to rain
3.we had to do one show like 8-9 different times because we wanted to get it just right
4. our previous location we started shooting being told that we cannot shot there
5.no one wanted to speak on camera

this was the first location that we decided to shot but then being told that we cannot shot there.
this was the location where we were based until we were told we cannot continue to film

FILMING

2009-11-17T12:00:00.001-08:00

I JUST FINISHED COMING BACK FROM A FILMING TRIP AT THIS COMIC BOOK SHOP CALLED CALAMITY OVER ALL I THINK THE FILMING TRIP WAS GOOD BUT THERE WERE NO PEOPLE TO INTERVIEW WAS LIKE ONLY ONE MAN ( LOL :) ) BUT WE STILL MANAGED TO FILM A WHOLE LOT OF THINGS LIKE FILM OUT SIDE , INSIDE AND YOU PEOPLE KNOW THE REST BUT STILL IT WAS INTERESTING BUT COLD

AN EXAMPLE OF HOW MANY COMIC BOOKS WERE THERE AND COUGH CAUGH EMPTY IT WAS

STANDING FOR A PICTURE MOHAMMED IN THE BACK GROUND

THE STREET WHERE THE COMIC BOOK SHOP IS " no connection with Springfield from the Simpsons "

Mini assiment

2009-11-16T02:09:00.001-08:00

today i and my other class mate had a chance to look at each others blogs and research and planning so that we can get targets on what we should improve these include

. slowing down the speed of the slide show because one of the main issues that people had was that the speed was to fast and it some how made their eyes hurt.

.clearly label all items so that people could know what they were looking at and what each thing suppose to mean and represent

Re-do

2009-11-10T11:00:00.000-08:00

So i just finished making another slide show that we can hopefully use some of the ideas of in our final one , oh and KEYNOTE the music is not ours so unless we somehow get the labels backing to use this song we cannot use it in our final idea
