Prayer Request : Pray for www.GRNUSA.net Media Department. This department creates publications and brochures, and handles most of our printing needs. Pray that all the equipment functions well without any breakdowns. (GLOBAL RECORDINGS NETWORK makes audio recordings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. From the Amazon to the Himalayas our mobile missionary recording teams travel the globe in search of unreached people groups. Using local bilingual speakers, they record Bible stories that teach the basics of the gospel in the heart languages of the people.)

Country : Colombia
Prayer Request : Members of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) killed a pastor and his oldest son recently after the pastor refused to shut down his church or allow them to recruit his oldest son and daughter. The FARC guerrillas confronted the pastor three months ago because he had reopened a church located in a red zone. They told the pastor that if he didn't allow them to recruit his two oldest children he would have to close his church. When he refused to do either, they immediately killed the pastor and his son. The pastor's wife is now left to care for the couple's three daughters alone.

Country : Nepal
Prayer Request : Pastor "Michael" and his wife have been beaten, burglarized and threatened with death if they didn't leave their city, but God continues to provide for them as they serve in an area of Nepal where few Christians would go. Within a year of being called to the area, which is known for violence, the pastor had gained the respect of many in the town and had seen 10 people come to Christ. Soon, however, he began to face persecution by those opposed to his work. The pastor persevered through many difficulties, and a new believer recently contributed a large sum of money to help him continue his work in the church, which now has 150 members. Although the church faces great opposition, the pastor hopes to see it grow to 500 members. He said he has seen the love of Jesus transform the worst of offenders.

Country : Uganda
Prayer Request : Susan Ithungu was 13 years old in 2009 when she accepted Christ. The Ugandan teen stood up for her faith even though her father beat her and locked her in a room for six months with little food or water. She weighed just 45 pounds when she was rescued, and it has taken time for her to recover physically and emotionally. Susan is now thriving in her new boarding school and is in good health and spirits. She clings to her faith in Jesus, has hope for her future and shares her faith with classmates and peers. Her guardian, Dedra Biira, is doing well in her business and is able to help provide for Susan as well as her other children.
Prayer Request : Pray for Pastor Umar Mulinde. After spending more than two years in Israel receiving treatment for severe acid burns, Pastor Umar Mulinde was welcomed home to Uganda by his family and church on May 25. On Christmas Eve 2011, Pastor Umar was walking to his church when he was attacked by a group of Muslim men. One man poured acid on his face while others poured it down his back. The men shouted "Allahu Akbar!" (God is great!) as they ran from the scene. Pastor Umar lost his right eye in the attack and underwent extensive facial reconstruction at a hospital in Israel before returning home to Uganda. Pastor Umar said his recovery is "a turn of events for a wonderful testimony."
Prayer Request : Pray for Evangelist. An Laotian evangelist known locally as "The Jesus Guy," who often faces pressure from local authorities and police, said two policemen stopped to investigate the large gathering of Hmong people at his Easter service and ended up staying. Rather than trying to end the services, the officers were intrigued and remained for the duration of the evangelist's sermon about the death and resurrection of Jesus for the salvation and deliverance of all who believe. Although the officers declined the evangelist's invitation to stay, eat and talk further, one of the officers exclaimed, "Wow, Jesus talked pretty tough on sin, didn't He?"
Prayer Request : Pray for Members of Area's Only Church. A church in the predominantly Muslim area of Mafia, Tanzania, was burned down on Friday, May 9, just hours before a scheduled prayer meeting. Radicals had threatened the pastor, Ombeni Omari, and the church for the past two years. Pastor Omari, a Christian convert from Islam, escaped to Dar es Salaam with his wife and three children after learning of the attack. He had founded the almost 60-member church, the only Christian church in the area, and nearly all of its members were converts from Islam. Although the church building was destroyed, Pastor Omari said he will return to the area because the work he was called to is not yet finished.

Country : Algeria
Prayer Request : Pray for Believers Seek Safety of House Churches. Attacks on members of a church in Tizi Ozou have caused many members, especially families with young children, to begin attending house churches. On several occasions, radical Muslims have thrown stones at church members entering and leaving services. While the Algerian government requires churches to register, most house churches operate openly without interference from authorities. Algerian Christians are often persecuted by Muslim family members, and the church in Tizi Ozou supports several believers who were kicked out of their homes because of their faith.
Prayer Request : Pray for Families Fined for Illegal Religious Activities. Four believers were fined in late April after being caught holding unregistered religious services. Authorities had previously confiscated property, including a car, vacuum cleaner and other household items, from the Christians' families because they had refused to pay fines received in 2012 for the same offense. Uzbek authorities stated that the two families will have to pay the fines if they expect their property to be returned. Unregistered religious activities are illegal in Uzbekistan, and offenders are frequently fined several months' wages.

Country : Syria
Prayer Request : Pray for Christians Facing Increasing Dangers. Believers in Aleppo have asked for continued prayer, as tensions between army officials and rebel forces have increased since April 12. The city has been without electricity and water for days, and shortages of gasoline and food have caused prices to skyrocket to as much as five times the normal rate. A VOM contact said that while traveling to Aleppo, the bus he was in was stopped for five hours because of the danger of sniper attacks. "I know that we are living under a daily danger of mortars, but waiting for a bullet to go through the bus window to kill you is something different!" he said. Communion services leading to Easter were canceled as a result of the increased danger, but Good Friday and Easter services were held as planned.
Pastor Jose Dilson da Silva, a Brazilian missionary who has worked in West Africa for 23 years, faces a court hearing on April 8 in connection with the Christian conversion of a Muslim leader's son at a home for street children. The pastor spent five months in a Senegalese prison but was temporarily released pending final resolution of his case. Prayer Request : Pray for Family of Woman Killed for Faith. Mary Sameh George, a 25-year-old Christian who lived with her parents and sister in Cairo, was brutally attacked and killed on March 28 by pro-Muslim Brotherhood demonstrators. As she does each Friday, Mary was on her way to deliver groceries and other necessities to a poor family in the Ein Shams area when she was stopped by a group of protesters. When protesters spotted her gold cross necklace, they dragged her out of her car and repeatedly stabbed and choked her to death. Prayer Request : Pray for Christian Woman Attacked in Front of School. The wife of a Christian worker was violently attacked on Feb. 13 by three Muslim women who had discovered that she was a believer. One of the attackers has a daughter who attends the same school as the victim’s daughter, and the Muslim women attacked the Christian woman in front of the school after she dropped off her daughter. Although the Christian family has transferred their daughter to a new school, it is a difficult adjustment. Prayer Request : Praise God for Jailed Believer Who Led 14 to Christ. Vani, a 30-year-old widow, spent 15 days in jail after being charged with kidnapping and forcing a child to convert to Christianity. During her two-week stay, she witnessed to more than 70 women, 14 of whom became Christians. Vani was charged in connection with an incident in early February, when she helped a teenager and introduced her to some other believers. Vani was arrested after the girl’s parents reported her to police. While Vani was in jail, the jailer encouraged her to share the gospel and pray for the other women because he had seen dramatic change in those who accepted Christ. Prayer Request : We were thrilled that the young Chinese student who spoke with me about becoming a Christian made a profession of faith with our Korean student Andrew Park. Two weeks ago I spoke with him. Andrew went out to lunch with him after last week's Sunday morning service, and the young man has been telling many that he is saved, and plans now to be baptized. We pray for the salvation of another young Chinese man who has been drifting. A young Chinese girl who made a profession a few months ago but doubted her salvation has now received assurance of salvation; we pray for her to be baptized prior to her return to China in a few months. I met Muhammad Ali by divine appointment of God! . He is Muslim in background, and disturbed about the secular humanism of the University of Tennessee. He seemed interested in our Bible study. Please pray that he comes. His name is truly Muhammad Ali! I have to believe that God arranged it as a divine appointment. Liz's elbow: We are making progress - slow and painful, but progress - in physical therapy. Please pray that progress will continue. PRAY! 1. Salvation for N.D. and spiritual growth for two recent converts
2. Growth of the U.T. international ministry 3. Liz's arm to heal: a. Pain to go totally away b. Range of motion to be normal c. Bone to heal well Our continued ministry with the teaching and students at Crown College. Our preparation for 2 months plus in Suriname this summer. Bob & Liz Patton

Prayer Request : At about 8 PM an uncontrolled house fire burned 90% of the Bajao and Muslim Village of Isla Verde where we having been ministering for 12 years. In 3 hours the houses were gone, the Bajao church was gone, our preschool was gone and the neighboring Muslim areas were burned down as well. Praise the Lord that there have been no reports of fatalities!!! The main street near Isla Verse was filled with the new homeless, effecting between 6,000 to 10,000 people. We stayed until 1 AM when we could account for the Bajao we work with and found a place where they could sleep. About 1,500 Bajao are homeless. Today we have distributed water and have set up a first aide station. The Major of the city is involved and we are all waiting for his response with food, water, shelter and bathrooms. Our Computer Center was spared and is where we are offering first aide. We are secretly feeding some people in the Computer Center so as not to cause a riot. We have no idea where the Lord will lead the Bajao for re-settlement. We have to wait on the Lord, and the government before we can make any plans to rebuilt the church and school. Thank you for your prayers and may our Lord be with us all!! Patrick and Shari Bailey
Prayer Request : Father, we thank You for the resilience of this brother, and others like him, in the face of grave danger. We also thank the elderly man who cared enough to warn him. Although he is Muslim, we ask that You change his heart and bless him with salvation in Christ. We also ask that You call more Muslims in that area to salvation in Jesus. Lastly Father, we ask for Your protection over all Your people living in this dangerous region of the world that is hostile toward the gospel. May Your Spirit fill them with strength, boldness and courage as they serve You. In the blessed name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Prayer Request : Father, as we look at the world, and shudder at the thought of growing materialism among the worlds’ youth, we are grateful that Open Doors hosts these impactful programs in Vietnam. Giving You all the praise, we ask for these seeds, that have been abundantly watered, to grow into mature trees. And just as trees do, produce seeds for new growth. Father, we ask that there be an abundance of new trees sprouting up over Vietnam and beyond! Praying in Jesus’ name, where our hope and future lies, Amen.
Prayer Request : Father, our own faith is encouraged and strengthened by the news of the nuns’ release. Father, we thank You for watching over them while in custody, and we praise You for protecting them. We also pray that their witness of Your unfailing presence will ultimately bring their captors into a relationship with You. Lord Jesus, You are the Prince of Peace and our sure hope in times of trouble; draw them out of darkness and into the light of the gospel. In the name of Jesus who has overcome the darkness for all eternity. Amen
