Arsenal are they still a top four team?

With no trophies in the last six years are Arsenal the same power house everyone proclaims? Will Arsenal finish in the top four ithis 2011/2012 English Premier League season?

In the last two seasons they have slowly been losing and not replacing their seasoned players. Now that they have lost Cesc Fabregas and potentially Nasri Cesc who will fill the void in the midfield?

Dont forget about Gael Clinchy and Kolo Toure? Has Wenger lost his magic touch or is there more to the story that has made Arsenal FC become a feeder club.

Will Tottenham Hotspurs finally succeed Arsenal as the Super Team of North London? With the loss of Cesc Fabregas who will fill his shoes? Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey or the injury prone Tomáš Rosický.

Cesc Fabregas contributed 100 assists, 57 goals in over 300 appearances for Arsenal. He has had the highest assists percentage in the Champions League for the last 3 seasons.

I would love to see who Arsene Wenger brings in to fill the void? Who do you think Arsene will bring in to fill the void? Mata from Valencia?

I wish Cesc Fabregas the best of luck at FC Barcelona. It about time he starts winner big trophies actually any trophies.. lol. Forca Barca!

Beckham signs for spurs

Tottenham Hot Spurs boss Harry Redknapp revealed on Saturday that Spurs made an approach to take the LA Galaxy midfielder on-loan for two months.

Redknapp also revealed David Beckham singled out Tottenham Hot Spurs as the club he would like to join after the player had a conversation with the Tottenham boss' son, Jamie, about the possibility of a move.

Beckham is thought to like Spurs' attacking style butJamie Redknapp said on Sunday he thought a deal was unlikely. "I don't think it will happen,"

The American side LA Galaxy are also yet to decide whether to allow the former England captain to depart during their close season, having seen him play just seven times in 2010 MLS season.

Beckham picked up an injury while on-loan at AC Milan at the beginning of last year, effecting his season at Galaxy there after - a factor which could see the club deny the 35-year-old a move.

If you are in Cape Town for the 2010 FIFA World Cup Football and you are looking for pubs to watch all the FIFA World Cup action make sure you stop by the following two pubs in Cape Town. The first pubs name is Rascals in Harfield Village off Rosmead Avenue. I was at this pub last Saturday for the Manchester United vs. Tottenham Hotspurs week 36 game! The atmosphere in this pub on match day is electrifying. It does not take long before you are sucked up into the whole vibe of the place. The locals are very friendly; the walls are covered with English Premiership memorabilia and on every wall is a LCD TV.

Rascal is also famous for its Pizzas and also makes an amazing curry!! If I was an English fan travelling to Cape Town for the FIFA World Cup I would not miss up the opportunity to have a few pints here!

Wow.....what an amazing goal from Tottenham Hotspurs Danny Rose! Will he ever do it again?? Who cares!! This is why I love English Premiership football.... now and again you get amazing goals that blow your mind!!

That win is sure to help Spurs claim 4th spot in the Premiership league table, Tottenham Hotspurs play Man Utd this weekend and then Chelsea!! The next two games are very important for this premiership football club!! Hey lets be realistic....Manchester City have a better chance of qualifying for fourth spot!!

All I can say is the next few weeks of Premiership football are going to be very interesting....imagine if Spurs beat Manchester Utd and Chelsea FC that would make for a really interesting title challenge, you never know even Arsenal could have a chance if that happens!

Owen Hargreaves nears Premiership return

English Premiership champions Manchester United will soon have Owen Hargeaves back in action as he is near the end of his injury succubus!

The English Football international played his last match for the Premiership Champions in September 2008 and has since been plagued with injuries during his time at Manchester United.

Owen Hargreaves returned to Man Utd's Carrington training complex two weeks ago after a season of rehabilitation.

"It is difficult to say an exact date but I do feel I can see light at the end of the tunnel now," Owen Hargreaves was quoted saying.

"Coming back to Manchester was a big step. Having people from United around me also makes me realise I am getting closer.”

"I am coming back to have a massive effect and to play well and for us to win titles.”

Let’s hope Owen Hargreaves can make a full recovery and get some Premiership games under his belt and you never know we might see him representing the English Football team at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Juande Juande Juande........what has happened to the great hope from Spain????? When you arrived you had a CV to die for and now it seems that you will be leaving spurs with your tail between your legs! I must admit I think there is more to the picture Juande Ramos's bad start to the season!

Preseason Tottenham Hotspurs looked unstoppable and then out of the blue we they start selling all of there tried and tested strikers! Two very good proven premiership strikers out and one last minute buy Russian striker! Don't get me wrong Roman Pavlyuchenko is a good striker and I think he will prove his worth in time! Last season Spurs leaked goals and now they can't score anything. How the hell can a club go from one extreme to the other. You would think Spurs would do whatever it takes to keep their strikers from last season and not sell them but know they go and sell the only good thing from last season!!!!!!

I believe people should stop looking to blame Juande Ramos and start looking at the people upstairs. Spurs have been through something like eight managers since Arsene Wenger took over at Arsenal!

Managers need to be given time to shape and mould their players and not kicked out the door at the first sign of trouble, imagine if Man Utd fired Sir Alex Ferguson after his first season! Do you think Man Utd would be the same club that they are today? It really goes to show it you are patient and don’t expect greatness in overnight you will be truly rewarded! Juande Ramos was in charge of Seville for three year and won the UEFA Cup twice, the UEFA Super cup, the Copa del Rey and also piped Real Madrid to the Spanish Super Cup. Now all that was achieved in three years imagine if Ramos was give three years to shape Tottenham Hot Spurs! I will leave you with that thought in your head!!!

Spurs Boss Martin Jol has claimed that he would put a £30m price tag on Berba, so how much would you put on Benni £20m.........£30m? Anyway you look at it both player would fit into any premiership side without a problem. without a doubt Benni would have to be one of the the buys of the season and has quickly established himself as a top Premiership striker.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has hailed the 7-1 victory over Roma as the club's greatest European evening at Old Trafford.

The win gave United an 8-3 aggregate win and sent them into the Champions League semi-finals.

Wednesday's headlines may have been a tad on the predictable side, but the result and performance they were hailing was anything but.Shorn of several key players through injury and suspension, two successive defeats beforehand for the first time in 18 months, up against a Roma side full of attacking talent... Manchester United fans had every reason to be nervous beforehand.

But a dazzling display adorned with seven goals of bewitching quality left Sir Alex Ferguson purring that "in European terms, it was without doubt the greatest night I have had here".Little wonder given the statistics. I ask you the question, should he stay or go? Steve McClaren has managed the England for the last 9 games winning only 4 games, winning 3, losing 2 that leaves him with a 44.44% success rate.

The scary thing is that he has not even played against any good opposition. Who would you replace Steve McClaren with? Jose Mourinho maybe? I doubt that England would ever go for him! So who will be the next England manager, only time will tell.

For now McClaren’s job is safe at least until the next Euro 2008 qualifier in Estonia in June — despite another dismal display.

£10.9 million vs £30 million, who do you think was the better buy. Spurs are starting to get some really amazing players with huge potential on the cheap. With 18 goals in 38 games for spurs, and just as many assists Berbatov could well be one of the finds of the season.

Berbatov has firmly established himself as the first choice forward at the club; participating in all but one of the games he has been fit to play in, starting 12 of a possible 15 games and coming on as substitute for a further two of those. His experience in Europe is already reaping rewards for his new club. He has scored in each of the four UEFA Cup games he has played for Spurs, with his performances earning two man-of-the-match awards in the group stages against Besiktas and Club Brugge.

However, after a poor start to his first season at Chelsea, many people questioned whether Andriy Shevchenko was worth such a hefty transfer fee and there was speculation about Shevchenko's return to AC Milan. In January 2007 ex-Chelsea players had even suggested that Andriy might end up being the biggest flop in British football.

Despite the constant criticism from the media, Shevchenko has continued to work hard at Chelsea and has recently shown signs of beginning to find his feet in England. Shevchenko scored his sixth and seventh goals for Chelsea against Wycombe Wanderers in the Carling Cup semi-final on January 23, 2007 , and on January 28, he scored his ninth Chelsea goal in the 3-0 defeat of League 1 side Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

He continued his good run of form against Blackburn Rovers by having a total of 7 shots at goal, all on target and was praised by José Mourinho who said that it was his best game for Chelsea so far [10]. Shevchenko came on as a substitute for the FA Cup Quarter Final tie against Norwich City F.C., in which he scored his 10th goal of the season with a header in the dying seconds of the game. His 11th goal came days after, with a crucial equalizer against F.C. Porto in the UEFA Champion's League.

Larsson’s 72nd-minute winner confirmed Manchester United’s place in the last eight of the Champions League.
The Swede's goal was priceless as he leapt to the skies to power home a header, from the cross of Cristano Ronaldo.

When the Swedish veteran was subbed just moments after his 72nd-minute winner, the whole of the ground rose in acclaim – knowing this would be the last act at Old Trafford.

In nine starts, plus three as sub, the striker has scored three goals in three different competitions. His all-round play cannot be measured in such statistics but has been equally priceless. It has been that of a veteran schooled in all the fine arts of this game.

Larsson’s last match now for United will come in Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Middlesbrough.

To little to late! After an amazing first half display liverpool where unlucky not to be a goal up going into the second half, Barca never seemed get out of the starting block for this 2nd leg game and only have themselves to blame for being not of the Champions league.

Will Liverpool go on and lift the Champions league trophy? Only time will tell, but after last night display not many will argue that Liverpool have to be one of the favourites to win the tournament.

Carragher insisted beating reigning champs Barca eclipsed even their win over AC Milan in the 2005 final.

He said: “This has to be the best ever. I feel it is the greatest victory this club has ever had in Europe.

"Even though we have knocked them out they are still the best club side in the world, so beating them over two legs is a remarkable achievement.

With players like Carragher and Gerrad leading the way and the fans cheering them on it will be hard to stop them, lets hope they repeat the success of the 2005 final

It’s that time of the year again when bottom of the log team’s battle for valuable league point, fans bite there fingers to the bone in fear of the idea that there beloved team might be relegated and Spurs thumping the hammers 4-3. Yes thast right in case you think you miss read that WEST HAM 3, SPURS 4

Who would have guessed that after what West Ham did to the Spurs last season would revenge be so sweet by helping West Ham on their way to the Championship Division. I must admit I will miss them but not all is fair in football and I am sure we will see them bounce back.

2nd Cup KO in 4 days

Being a Spurs fan I am meant to hate Arsehole sorry Arsenal, but hey they do play great football time to time and they do have one of the best youth systems in the premiership.
So what happened in the Carling Cup final and the FA Cup against Blackburn (you go Benni- classy goal).For the last few years Arsenal have gone from a top two side to a top four side, people keep saying wait wait for the current squad to mature, I say enough is enough get off your tight asses and buy one or two experienced players when you sell someone like Viera you are meant to replace them. dah dah dah. well lets hope you guys return to form soon.

Henrik Larsson set to leave Man Utd next month.

The 35-year-old Swedish striker, who began his loan spell with the United in January, will return to Helsingborg on 12 March. He will surely be missed by the players and fans at United as he made a huge impact at the Club. With out a doubt you could say he was the best thing to come out of the January transfer window. Just another sign of Ferguson’s pure managerial class.
Larsson has scored two goals in eight games for United, including a strike on his debut against Aston Villa. He made an impact at Celtic, where he scored 242 goals in over 300 games after joining the Scottish giants in 1997, and found the net twice during the 3-2 defeat by Porto in the 2003 Uefa Cup final.
There was better luck in European competition for the Swede last season when he came on as substitute to help Barcelona beat Arsenal 2-1 in the Champions League final.
It is sad to have to say good bye to a player of his class, lets hope he continues adding to his amazing record in Sweden.

Larsson playing for Man Utd! Who would have believed this, the idea of Larsson playing in the premiership for Man Utd is out of this world. It is more like a dream come true for me as I am a HUGE Henrik Larsson fan. Not only has he proven himself for Celtic and Barcelona but now he is going to ply his trade in one of the greatest leagues in the world. He might be on the wrong side of 30, but I’m sure his skill and knowledge will rub off onto the young Man Utd forwards, which could only be a good thing for Man Utd.

Henrik Larsson trained with his new United team-mates on Monday after arriving in England at the weekend. He flew in to England on Saturday and then travelled with the squad to watch the Reds take on West Ham at Upton Park on Sunday. The Swedish striker, who joins the Reds in January on a two-and-a-half month loan deal from Helsingborgs, arrived in England on Saturday and traveled with the squad to East London.

The 35-year-old former Barcelona and Celtic forward will spend this week training in Manchester before going back to Sweden to spend Christmas with his family.

He will then return to England to prepare to play in what could be his debut for the Reds against Newcastle at St James' Park on 1 January. Larsson will be available for up to 14 games during his loan spell, which ends on 12 March; eight Premiership matches, up to four FA Cup games and the two Champions League last 16 ties with Lille.

With 6/1 odds against them who would have believed that West Ham would put a stop to Man Utd's 10 game wining streak and more so by a player (Reo-Coker) who had 22/1 odds for scoring the first goal. The look on Gary Neville’s says it all a look of pure amazement and disbelief as Reo-Coker smashes the ball into the back of the net. Well done Hammers what a way to prove your critics by claiming the sculpt of a premiership giant like Man Utd, lets pray that you don’t go down this season, with displays like that I am sure that will never happen.

Alan Pardew Fired!!!! What you got to be joking, but he is a really good manager! Well I hate to say it but if you read my post on the 14 November, you would have seen it coming from a mile away. Anyone who loses 11 out of 17 games in the begining of the season is a sure candidate to get fired. Hey dont get me wrong I like Alan Pardew, but with what is happening at WHU maybe it is time for a new manager (wait sorry he's fired). There are talks of Alan Curbishley taking over the regins, if anyone could lift WHU from the bottom of the table Iam sure Mr Curbishley can and I would even put money on that. Have you seen the amount of talent at WHU disposal Iam sure with Alan Curbishley in charge WHU could be finishing in the top half of the table come end of the season, lets hope.

If Man Utd ever needed a wake up call last night, it was Shunsuke Nakamura’s amazing 81st-minute free-kick that gave Celtic the opening and only goal of the match. Saha missed a penalty that would have almost guaranteed his team a place in the next stage of the competition, after Celtic keeper Artur Boruc made the save of all saves to send Parkhead on an ecstasy trip they will never forget. Final score1-0 to Celtic, this game will go down in the history books as one of Celtic’s greatest victories ever. You go boys!

So I ask my self one question who is this Shunsuke Nakamura and was his goal fluke? Let me see if I can answer these questions.

Nakamura is a playmaking midfielder usually employed by Celtic on the right hand side of midfield. He had previously been positioned in the centre or on the left hand side of the pitch, since he is left-footed.
He is known for his vision and touch, as well as being a free-kick specialist. Gordon Strachan rates him as one of if not the best free free-kick specialist in the world today.

He can create scoring opportunities for his teammates but is also more than capable of scoring himself. His former coach Steve Perryman has remarked that Nakamura is so talented that he "could open a tin of beans with his left foot"

Nakamura's ability to create opportunities for team mates and unlock defenses, as well as his accurate direct free kicks has made him a key player for his club and country. If Nakamura keeps on producing displays like last night it would be only a matter of time before we see this lad in the Premiership, Lets hope he signs for one of the emerging club like Portsmouth, where he would be guaranteed regular first team football.
