Death and taxes, two of life’s certainties, or so they say.
Well, with the California sales tax going up April 1 (boo !!), we want to help our loyal customers this month by offering a SALES TAX FREE week on all purchases.
That’s right. From Monday April 13 through Sunday April 19, Cookin’ Stuff will NOT charge ANY sales tax on any and all purchases in our store.
We’ll take care of Uncle Sam this round! Hey, maybe the new Prez will stop in.

Please take note, Cookin’ Stuff is adjusting Sunday store hours.
The store will be open from 11am to 4pm. The Monday thru Saturday hours remain the same, 10am to 6pm.

We’re stoked about our EASTER BUNNY BASH promotion which starts Thursday April 2 and runs until April 11.
With a minimum purchase of $15, shoppers get to grab an egg from our Easter Basket. Inside are certificates for terrific prizes. It will be an ‘EGG’citing and fun time at the store !!

Congratulations to Stella of Redondo Beach and Phyllis of Palos Verdes (see photo )both winners of the $100 gift cards Cookin’ Stuff awarded for February and March. The two winning entries were selected at random in monthly drawings. We appreciate people taking the time to fill out and submit the entry forms. The response was excellent.

Both Stella and Phyllis are long time Cookin’ Stuff customers and said they will use the cards with great pleasure !

South Bay’s BEST Cooking Store for 2008

For the third straight year Cookin’ Stuff was named South Bay’s BEST Cooking store by Torrance Daily Breeze.

Thousands of people mailed in ballots, published in the newspaper and for the first time were permitted to vote online. It’s great to be recognized by our loyal customers in the South Bay. After 35 years, we’ve developed quite a following.

We thank everyone who took the time to cast a ballot.

We pledge our best efforts to provide area residents with the widest selection of cookware, bake ware, gadgets and everything else that makes creating in kitchen so much fun. As always, it’s a team effort at Cookin’ Stuff.

My staff’s the best.

August Update

Hi Everybody,

Can you believe that we are in August already?
Where does time go? We are busy cleaning and getting ready for Halloween.

Come on in and see all the spooky stuff we have for Halloween. It’s just around the corner and will be upon us before we know it.

Picnic Pot Luck Recipe 2008 Recipe Contest Winners

Now for the big announcement.

The winner for this years Picnic Pot Luck recipe contest is…

Drum rolls please… Punch Bowl Cake by Kim Smyth.
This cake was/is so delicious. You make it the night before your picnic and it’s ready in the morning.

We had so many wonderful recipes thank you all for your entries. I will post Kim’s recipe online tomorrow.

Please try it and see what you think. Kim has a 10pc All Clad set on the way to her.

We also have a second and third place winner.

Rebecca Willmschen, with her Becca’s Macaroni Salad, and third place goes to Tara Hill with her Famous Chicken Salad.

Congratulations to all of you. Rebecca and Tara will receive a Silpat for all their baking needs this fall.
