It's the annual Newport Pig Cookin' Contest... Coming April 1st and 2nd, at the Newport Community Park. This is a popular event, so you don't want to miss it. Mark your calendars now. April will be here before you know it! For more information go HERE!

On April 1 - April 2, 2011, Folks will flock to Newport, NC for the 33rd Annual Pig Cookin' Contest. If you have ever had North Carolina Barbecue, you know just how Fabulous it is. Chefs from all around the area will gather to compete at the Newport Pig Cookin' contest ...Who will be the best this year? The Event offers much more than Pork...Funnel Cakes, Rides, Funnel Cakes, Music, Arts & Crafts, Funnel Cakes, Bake sales, and just plain ol' fun for the whole family.

Admission is free and Barbecue Plates are only $6.00 each. That of course, includes cole slaw, hushpuppies, and all the best fixin' around. Did I mention they will have funnel cakes? Serving begins at 11:00 AM on April 1st. The Contest is held at Newport Town Park Across the street from Newport Town Hall, located at 200 Howard Blvd. in Newport.
