“THE COWBOY KILLERS“

The Cowboy Killers was the main name we used while in Nashville – and sometimes around the Southeast – and even when Steve Toured Europe…but there’s other bands out there using this name – even though – Steve used the name first in commerce and hence owns the rights to the Band Name “The Cowboy Killers” ™

Steve Moore is sometimes in up to 2 or 3 Different bands all depending on the types of gigs and what’s happening at any given time!

HIS MAIN BAND IS:

Steve Moore & the New South

This band is usually 4 or 5 musicians – and we mainly play at private events are at larger shows when Steve’s Schedule permits:

The main musicians are as follows:

• Steve Moore – Lead Vocals, Guitar(s), Mandolin, Harmonica, Accordion, Banjo and Percussion
• Clay Barnes – Lead Guitars, Keyboards and Backing Vocals
• Roger Crimm – Bass Guitar, Guitar and Backing Vocals
• Adam Box – Drums, Percussion, and Backing Vocals
• Terry Baker – Fiddle, Mandolin,  Banjo, Keyboards, Guitar and Backing Vocals…

And Steve sometimes play in a 2-3 piece band called:

Rented Mule

Rented Mule is an OFF the CUFF band – we don’t rehearse, we don’t even have a set list! We just JAM!

We’re just a bluegrassy, folk, kind of rock band – usually a 2-3 piece with just Steve playing several guitars, mandolin, harmonica and tambrouine with his foot…
Terry Baker makes up the rest of the fretted or non-fretted instrument and either David Zettler or Adam Box on Drums – this is probably the MOST FUN – as you just never know what to expect next!   We just show up, plug in, and JAM!

Steve, you and the New South were rocking the place, i mean rocking the place and you jumped on some tables or the bar and started smashing that old guitar, sounds a little over the top now but i swear it was a perfect ending to a perfect show that night……..that was “a rock show”…..jupiter and mars were lined up just right……I used the words “over the top” but those were the wrong words….it was authentic and music nirvana ……you were in the zone……i remember thinking if he could bottle this, he would have the magic potion to carry him through his career……not just kissing your a**…..it was a special night!
