To all you conservative nutcases you feel you should be allowed to tell a woman what to do with her body, and that abortions should be illegal.

Here is report about a new study that shows unsafe abortions are on the rise. Because the thing you don't seem to understand with your religious nonsense is banning abortions isn't going to go away. It's only going to make women go to backroom doctors. Which I'm sure you wouldn't mind as it's okay to kill anyone as long as it's not an unborn child. But the backroom abortions also kill the child.

Obama Grows A Pair

Holy crap, it took him almost his whole first term, but President Obama has finally gown some balls. He ahs done two good things that involve standing up to big oil and coming out against Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House and the Protect IP Act (PIPA).
The Obama administration rejected the Keystone oil sands pipeline that would have been an environmental disaster and only resulted in making large oil companies more money.

And the SOPA and PIPA bills would have make it easier for record or other entertainment industries to shut down websites or blogs, like this one, if they disagreed with the contact that was being posted.

Good job Obama, nice that you finally started to remember who voted for you in the first place.

Paul Shin And Same Sex Marriage

In Washington State there is an attempt to legalize gay marriage via the legislature. As anyone who reads this blog knows, I am not gay, but I do support equal rights for all regardless if the debate is over race, gender, or sexual preference.

I've also posted in the past on my opinion of my state district 21 representative Paul Shin. Supposedly he is a Democrat, although I find that hard to believe based on the environmental damage he causes through all the pointless mailers he sends out. Whenever he is up for re-election I attempt to persuade voters to vote for his opponent, whoever that opponent might be.

According to The Stranger the legislature has 23 yes votes, 20 no votes, and 6 undecided or unknown. One of the unknown is my representative Paul Shin. I use the term representative loosely, as I've generally found him lacking in his representation of my political beliefs.

I've already e-mailed him urging him to vote in favor of gay marriage as I believe everyone should have the right to subject themselves equally to the misery of marriage.

I would like to urge others to do the same.

Romney Pay 15% in Taxes… The Poor Guy

I can see why all the republicans and tea-baggers don't want to increase taxes on the rich. After all it must be tough for people like Mitt Romney to pay a big old whopping 15% taxes while the rest of us pay up to 30%.

According to the republican mantra by reducing taxes on the rich it flows downhill to the rest of us. And when it comes to Mitt Romney flowing things downhill, it usually means outsourcing jobs overseas. And as anyone who has been on unemployment knows, you don't pay a lot in taxes out of your unemployment check.

Proving how he is just like one of us, Mitt Romney gets his shoes shined on the tarmac before boarding his jet. I can totally relate, because when I fly on my private jet, I like to have my overpriced leather shoes shined by some dude as well.

With the budget debates, many Republican congressman have attempted to strip the EPA of it's funding, while others have tried to get rid of the EPA all together.

Note: For the anti-EPA Republicans. The EPA was actually signed into law by a Republican president.

According to an article in the New York Times, 100 freelance photographers roamed the country in 1972 with a goal of "documenting 'the environmental happenings and non-happenings' of the decade."

So for the anti-environment people out there, here is some photographic evidence of why we still need the EPA and what would happen without government regulation of industry.

Santorum is #2 in GOP Race

In remarkable news of the GOP race to be president, Rick Santorum is now taking his turn in the spotlight. I've personally stayed out of the debate because republican politicians spend to much time catering to extreme right-wing nuts. But now that Santorum has a worked his way to the top 3, we have the potential for all the rest of the states to nominate him in the primaries as well.

Which we should do!

Thanks to equal rights activist Dan Savage, santorum is now a word to describe "The frothy mixture of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the by-product of anal sex" and how awesome would it be to have the by-product of anal sex running as the Republican nominee for president.

Overrated Movie List

Some movies deserve the hype they receive, while others just show that some people are idiots.

Avatar:
Yes the special effects were cool. But come on short attention span generation, the one dimensional characters, the predictable storyline, the cheese ball love story, this movie does not deserve to be the top grossing movie of all time. I'd rather watch Titanic again.

Moonstruck:
This Academy Award winning film is the best remedy for insomnia. I've attempted to watch it three times, and have fallen asleep every time.

Scarface:
People love this film for reasons I will never understand. Overacted, unbelievable, and totally overrated. Just like Al Pacino's career.

Lost in Translation:
I did actually like this movie, but I didn't love it. And I've talked to many people who just loved it. Anytime anyone says it is their favorite movie of all time, I kind of want to kick them in the twat.

The Kings Speech:
Yawn! Need I say more.

Unforgiven:
This is another one that I liked, but couldn't force myself to watch again. When the movie came out, people were talking about how it was going to revive the western, and how it was Eastwood's best movie, and the Academy Awards were all about this movie that year. I love a good western, and this was not a good western.

District 9:
I like the idea of this movie, and everyone else liked the movie. But come on, Aliens with super awesome technology that they don't use on us because they are addicted to cat food and end up living in a South African ghetto.

Dances With Wolves:
Excluding Field of Dreams and Bull Durham, has Kevin Costner ever done a decent movie? No, yet he has a career which included a film of him hanging out doing nothing.

2001: A Space Odyssey:
Another snore fest. Apparently the angry chimps at the beginning are the same who actually always talk about how this is a fantastic, intellectual, well made sci-fi flick .

Fargo:
Liked it, didn't love it. Don't feel the need to parody the accent after watching it, and for sure, don't want to watch it again.

Fox News Makes You Dumber

A new study done by the Fairleigh Dickinson University, polled 612 people to find out that people who watch Fox "pseudo" News actually know less than people who don't watch the news at all. Yes that's right, Fox News actually makes people dumber. And all this time I thought people watched Fox because they were already dumb. This could also explain why people in this country are getting dumber as well, since Fox is the most watched cable news channel.

The poll showed that people who watched Sunday morning news were the most informed with people who listen to NPR being the second most informed.

Republicans Vote to Raise Taxes for Middle Americans

Lame Football Penalties

I was watching Monday night football this week and watched one of the players get a penalty for taunting. Maybe I don't watch enough football but that was the first time I witnessed someone get a penalty for taunting, which made us watching the game that football has to many lame ass penalties.

I can understand penalties such as unnecessary roughness and other ones that might cause injury, but come on taunting!?! That's part of the fun of playing sports is taunting your opponent.

Some Other Lame Penalties:

Equipment violations - If they want to play without a mouthpiece, let them.
Running Into the Kicker - Come on! It's football, the point is to hit people.
Illegal Celebration - The players don't mind it, the fans don't mind it, in fact the only people who have a problem with it are the ones who made the rule.

Not Hot Geek Girls

Why is it that there are no hot geeky girls? Just because a girl is hot throughout high school, why does she have to be a dumb cheerleader instead of a hot chess club girl?

These are questions I've pondered recently after a co-worker sent this dating site to a few people- Geek to Geek.

I'm not looking, but figured I'd go check out the site anyway. I found in Seattle, between 25 to 35 that all geeky women spend most of there time sitting at home playing video games eating chips and ice cream. I shouldn't say all, because there were a couple that looked good, but for the most part, spending all night sitting in front of your computer isn't good for the hips. Now, I'm sure this post will offend a few out there, but it's true. Of the profiles I looked through the girls were overweight, ugly, or both. Mostly both.

And unfortunately this has been my experience personally as well. When I'm out meeting women, the hot ones tend to be so uninteresting that I can barely stand to talk to them long enough to take them home for the night, let alone have a relationship longer than one night with them. And the geeky girls, unfortunately, just the opposite. Super interesting to talk to, but I have a hard time finding myself desiring them even with the lights off.

So geeky ugly people out there, a dating site had been created just for you so check it out. And if there are any actual geeky and hot girls out there, let me know ; )

Have you ever been to the movies and had some jerk talk on their cell phone, or to the person next to them throughout the movie? Exactly, we all have. And when that happens don't you feel the urge to strangle that person? Yep, had that feeling also.

Well, a man in Seattle actually did what we all have wanted to do. Someone else was talking, hand a ringing phone, and being a total ass to everyone else in the theatre and this man attacked the asshole. The problem of course is the world we live in. Instead of being praised and rewarded for trying to strangle the loud man at the theatre, this guy got to experience some quality time with the police.

Divorced Groom Sues Photographer for new Wedding

Been unemployed since 2008? Bitter, divorced, and can’t come up with a reasonable way to make some money? Solve all that with an easy to file lawsuit.

Todd J. Remis was married back in 2003, his wife has since left him and moved back to the country he ordered her from, yet for some reason he feels the need to sue the photographer who shot his wedding stating that the photographer missed some key shots. Not only does he want the cost of the wedding photographs to be reimbursed. He wants the photography studio to pay to re-create the wedding, at a cost of about $48,000 dollars.

Just to reiterate. They are divorced. The wedding was back in 2003. His wife currently lives in another country, and the husband doesn't even know where she is. Yet, this douche-bag wants the photography studio to pay over 50 grand.

As a photographer, I always make sure to include in my contracts that we are not liable for lost shots, or other things beyond our control such as bad lighting. I would assume this photographer has something similar in his contract. So it's bullshit that are system allows this guy to sue this photographer, forcing the photographer to spend a ton of money defending himself.

Further proof of what is wrong with people in this country and our judiciary system. Not only that we allow such a lawsuit but that the judge is allowing it to move forward.
