We had a great Memorial Day Weekend camping trip and had a lot of fun out in nature.  We also enjoyed getting out of the elements now and again at the C7 Bar in Quincy (go C7 Junkies).   There are a few film festivals you may be interested in.  The Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), the Seattle True International Film Festival (STIFF), and the Stranger's Amateur Porn Film Festival (HUMP).  Also, be sure to check out http://siff.hollywoodreviews.com for interviews fresh from SIFF.  Looking for something to do this weekend?   The Georgetown Music Festival and the Pike Place Market Street Festival are a couple of things to consider.  A little further out, you may want to mark the calendar for the Fremont Fair on June 17 and 18 and the Seattle International BeerFest June 30th through July 2 (great way to finish off Gnomedex, eh?).

Go Seahawks!  The Hawks beat the Redskins this weekend, so it seems appropriate to do a little sound seeing from outside the stadium where folks were tailgating.  Additionally, the corresponding video is also available to view here. 

While tailgating, I recorded a song that really got me amped up. The song is called "Seahawks - All You've Got" and was written and performed by Keith Sexton (also known as "the Blue Rose") who I happened upon in front of the Seahawks Exhibition Center just before kick-off.

Wow, this was a busy week so this episode is a recap of all that's been going on.   I am in Leavenworth today for the Christmas lighting festival and it's cold!  We checked into the Bavarian Lodge  and Wendy is decorating the little in-room Christimas tree.

In this episode, we chat with a few of the brewers that were at the Winterbrew fest on Saturday.  I chat a bit about watching the Seahawks game at the local Hooters on Monday night and I give you a tip on what kind of wings you need to try if ever at a Hooters.  

The CrapMonkey Podcast was able to chat briefly with the band, Rasputina on Monday night when they performed at Neumos.  They are touring to promote their a Radical Recital album and they are an awesome and unique Cello band.

It's been a while since I've done a podcast as things have been pretty hectic lately.  I went to Leavenworth's Octoberfest last weekend.  I hung out with a bunch of great folks, but unfortunately, I have not had an opportunity to do much with that video footage yet.  Stay tuned!  After we listen to a DVD Weekly top sellers list, we talk a smidge about the new video Ipod (interesting article by Mark Cuban ).   We also get a bit of advice from Phu Ni Gai.  If you have a portable device with Internet access, you have to check out Gada.be (brought to you by Chris Pirillo).  Stuart and Louise Maxwell (active members of the Seattle Podcasters Group) have started their Real Estate Podcast so check it out if you are looking for a home!  There are a couple of great commercials floating around the net.  One is a Guinness spot and the other is a parody commercial for the Ipod Flea . 

The other night we enjoyed a performance by Come and Go at the Tractor Tavern in Ballard.  They were kind enough to give us an interview and allow us to play a song.  I also play a live tune by Jeff Fielder recorded on the iriver earlier that evening.

Tuesday Night was our Seattle Podcaster's Meetup at Pyramid Brewery and Alehouse.  The attendees at this months Meetup were Derek Downs of High Time for Haiku , Stuart Maxwell from Seattle Real Estate Talk, Matt May of Staccato Music , Andrew Wong, and Kevin Maude.  We recorded some conversation about podcasts and the future of podcasting and it is included in tonight's show.  During our conversations, we discuss podcatchers like Net News Wire , and our favorite podcasts.  Among our favorites are Al Franken, TWIT (This Week In Tech ), The Podcast About Nothing, The bitterest Pill, On The Media, and Lucky Bitch Radio .

Well, the weather is finally cooling off around here and I can manage sitting in the computer room and recording a podcast.  I updated the CrapMonkey website and blog this weekend.  On the blog, you may now subscribe to MSN alerts and be notified when the CrapMonkey blog is updated.  I also added a Windows Media player feed to the blog and will occasionally switch out the featured video (for now the Quiet Riot Metal Health cover is featured).  

The Seattle Podcasters Meetup Group's next meeting is on Tuesday, Sept 6th at Pyramid Brewery.  We will be chatting about podcasts, having beers and perhaps recording the discussion for this podcast.  Also, be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday Sept 24th, Pyramid Brewery's 21st birthday party featuring Eddie Spaghetti and opener Jeff Fielder (tickets will be going on sale soon). 

This weekend I attended a beer tasting with a local group called the TawdryToasters. Munchner Kindl, El Jefe  (the boss), and Schwemer were my favorites.

Tonight the Schockow brother's treat us to a DVD Weekly Top Sellers list and I recap my busy week.  Saturday was the Motley Crue concert and Tuesday Aug 2nd was the Seattle Podcaster's meetup group at Pyramid.   Both were a good time (but for different reasons of course).  I captured several interviews with Motley Crue fans in the beer garden and I play those for you in today's show.  My friend Scott shot me an email regarding a very cool DV capture program called DVRack.  This is worth checking out for anyone into video production.

Well, it's Friday the 13th and I am hanging at the house and drinking a Guinness.  Tonight we listen to a little bit of beer news (courtesy of All About Beer) as well as a DVD top sellers list from the Schockow Brother's of the DVD Weekly Podcast .  Todd Cochrane of the Geek News Central Podcast just wrote a book about Podcasting (the first book on the topic to hit store shelves.  It is available on Amazon.com, and of course, I already ordered a copy.  The Smoke Shop is the Victim of tonight's restroom review and Agony in June by Sunday Morning Music is the song tonight (only 11.99 at Amazon... buy it with the podcasting book and you'll be eligable for free shipping!).  For some reason, I get on a rant tonight about what to call video podcasts (hint: Video podcasts) and I yap about how ready for camping I am.  I also put in a plug for the Seattle Podcasting Meetup Group , so come on out if you can.

It's a very short podcast tonight.  I am starting to feel healthy again, but Wendy is now down for the count.   We listen to a very short song called Story to Tell, by Sunday Morning Music and review the restroom at the Reading Gaol.  There's a new business in Seattle called Soundscapes Northwest  that picks up your CD's and burns them to .mp3 or .ogg for you.... hmmm.   Also... do guys host parties intended to sell stuff to their friends, or is that a woman thing?

That's it... no beers... no websites... nothing. 

(by the way... in closing the show I mistakenly reference the song "Captain Howdy" by Twisted Sister as "Call for Street Justice."  While these songs are two parts of the same story, they are indeed different songs.  The CrapMonkey deeply regrets this error... perhaps nearly as much as I regret having watched Strangeland... the movie Dee Snyder made based on these songs).

Welcome to my long slow Saturday show!  Today I take a behind the scenes look at CrapMonkey podcast via a Windows Media Screen Capture session.  Sorry, the live screen cap knocks the wind out of my PC so this show feels like it moves in slow motion!

I use Mixcast Live to record the podcast, then I use RSS Editor to edit my RSS feed to include the new podcast.  Following the edit, I upload the mp3 and the xml file to the webserver useing Ace FTP Pro.  Once, the file is on my webserver, I use ping-o-matic to tell feedburner and a host of other sites that my RSS feed has been updated.

Finally, I use feeddemon to aggregate the feed and add it to my Windows Media Playlist.

It's been a few days since I've gotten a CrapMonkey podcast out because I've been sick.  Not sure what I came down with, but it's not fun... it's the opposite of fun and I have been spending all of my spare time sleeping. 

Tonight I'm keeping this short so I can go to bed (no music I'm afraid).  We listen to a preview for the David Duchovny movie House of D and check out the website Squizzle.com, an archive of (among other things) some great clips from television and beyond.  We also listen to an old commercial featuring Max Headroom because I just had the realization that this guy (played by Matt Frewer) was an 80's version of Jim Carrey.   Now would be a perfect time to bring the Max Headroom character back for the big screen starring Jim Carrey.   The clip is located here, watch it yourself and tell me if I'm wrong.

It's Wednesday (early in the AM) and it's been a pretty fun night.  I played a little craps in the Imerial Palace and then went for a nice dinner at AJ's Steak House in the Hard Rock.  After dinner, we rolled over to a party in the Foundation Roomof the Mandalay Bay.  It's a great place in the top floor of the hotel with a view of the strip to die for (this is seriously a better view than what you get from the Voodoo lounge in the Rio).  Jack and I had a cigar and some drinks and had some great conversations with folks (including a great conversation with a fellow named Leanard, a Maintenance Evangelist).   Don't miss this one folks... we actually get to singing about maintenance so check it out.

Chinatown is playing at the Northwest Film Forum this week today (Friday) and on Thursday the 21st.  We also listen to a segment that Wendy and I recorded the other night at the Bit Saloon in Ballard.  Finally, we listen to the preview for the upcoming documentary, Enron, opening April 29th at the Egyptian Theater in Seattle.  Whew... happy Friday!
