This little old man came up to me and said hello. His eyes were leveled with my breast, so of course, he kept looking at them. He asked where I worked twice, and I told him twice I go to school. I told him I lived at the building down the street. He asked if I was single. Then he asked," It's been long time without a boyfriend?". I said a few months. Then he asked to be my friend, and of course, how do you say no to a little old man. He told me he was from Vietnam. He must have been at least 60 something. He had the light color ring around his pupil.

What is really funny, is that a friend of mine is usually with me when I am walking on Colfax and notices that men think I am a working women. In this case, I had casual work clothes on. They do not like to help with issues and treat certain customers better than others. They are so concerned with trying to get more money that they end up loosing new and current customers.

My friend was called and was convinced to sign up for Comcast service. He was scheduled on a Tuesday but they didn't show up. So the company rescheduled him on a Saturday. The tech came but visited another apartment then stated to his Comcast that my friend was available. So I helped he get rescheduled for another Saturday with a $20. Today's visit the tech comes and doesn't even try to see if he could get any channels manually. He just said to the customer "I can't help you because your tv doesn't work right, you need a remote, and we will hold your account for a month". I know that he could have made it work, but he clearly looked in a hurry and wanted to leave.

Companies like this one should consider what they do to each customer because you never know it that person is related to corporate or someone they know. I have worked for Dish Network before and know that the customer only needed to get channel 3. The tech could have easily found that channel manually, because I have had to tell customers over the phone how to do it, and started the service. Now that is one less customer that would have been paying with a messed up tv but would have still been giving the company their money.

As a note to some people using cable companies as their primary source of television, I cut the cord because of this same company and realize that I could just pay for what I want without installation fees by use of the internet for other television content and an antenna.

Be Treated Different

Today on my way back from the plasma, when I saw this guy, Santiago, and he was asking home i'm doing. Then he started complimenting me saying that I was holla-able, and may he she holla. I have two friends that came from this comunity and both are living in their on place. There are certain rules in the Homeless community that can not be broken because it can be considered disrespectful. I lost one friend over some delicious meat because I broke an unspoken rule from that community.

I will start with my closest friend, who will be called Will for this story. Will and I have been friends for about 4 years. He is Gay, is employed, and pays his own rent. Will and I have a mutual sharing relationship. Whomever has more money pays and the other wull catch up whenever. He loves to eat so he is always trying to feed me, not just fast food but the best that he would eat. Will works a lot and doesn't spend the quality time like we used to. Sometimes I see him once a week but we always have fun.

My other friend we will call Joe. Joe and I have known each other about 3 years but never really talked much until the last couple of months. He has his own place but hustles for money and he doesn't pay rent. He makes just enough for his habits per day a fast food meal. Don't get me wrong he can make a good amount if it was routine but he is content with the minimal. We became close fast but that was ok with me because he has intelligent conversations most of the time. Joe pays for me when I participate in habit activities or a little food here and there.

I had started spending a lot of time with Joe, almost daily so I decided I would take the weekend off. I left him Friday afternoon to shower and get myself back on track. Will called after he got off work and wanted to meet up. I found out that he was bringing meat to eat. It was smoked and still warm. I bought dessert and we started the night. He left his food to help a friend but when he returned he was to tired to eat so he went home. Joe continuously called and texted all night. Normally Will doesn't like to reheat the meat so I was thinking about giving it to Joe.

The next day mentioned it to Joe that I might bring the meat but his response was,"call when you are leavin". I agreed but after he hung up some one came over. I then realized my phone was gone. I contacted Joe online, told him about phone and not wait on me plus Will contacted me and might want his meat. That's when the s**t hit the fan. Joe started talking about the third time and I should just be with Will. He went on for a while. This is still all online msgs. Joe mentioned that if I gave it to him it can't be Will's and im taking it back now. Keep in mind that I said I was thinking about it plus I hadn't left home. He ended with, "I don't want 2 c u. Please throw away anything you have of mine".

The Homeless community unspoken rule is if you offer something to someone you can't give it to someone else. In this case, I had explained the circumstances prior to mentioning the though. It should have been clear that there was a possibility that Will might return but it was unlikely. It should have also been clear that I was taking a break so there was a possibility I might not visit. Unfortunately, all Joe thought if was that he wanted the meat and I deprived him of his right. It is said that a person who could provide his own meat would rather server a relationship than consider that talk about the misunderstanding. I believe that the environment and community of the Homeless warrants a certain mentality to survive. Some people accept it a means to an end, so that when they leave they can leave it behind. Unfortunately, some people accept it as a way of life and believes that it will also work in regular societies. Please consider this when you think of the Homeless community.

Glover Jones singing on 16st Mall in Denver, CO

Here is a guy that loves to sing and would sing for you. The real problem is that once you get there it is hard to come out. People look down at you which lowers your self-esteem. You don't have income so it always seems like you are begging. I didn't have any. I them realized that ma aube he needed help with his homeless situation. I asked where he was called can camped. He said 10 blocks down. I referred him to Jeffco Action Center but he said he couldn't walk that far. I continued offering places like The Rescue Mission but he was trying to get back to Aurora. His sister wouldn't accept him in the drunken condition. I then suggested a few free rehabs to get him sober but of course, he said he could get sober on his own. I finally realuzed that he has the desire to change but wasn't willing to do what wad needed. Some intelligent homeless alcoholics might turn themselves around. type='text'>Not Being Homeless

We you leave the homeless lifestyle you start to become less associated with the environment. You start to look down at the people not helping themselves and want to pass them by as if you are better than them. I don't want that to happen. I believe if I start to focus on helping at least one a week, then work my way to one a day, I will remember that I came from this place. I flew a sign few minutes one day to help a friend but felt bad after seeing someone I knew driving by in a car. There are some people that sit on the corner by my street that I know have a place of their own. I want to help them but as long as they are begging for money I don't feel there is much to do to help. I want to start reaching out to them to explain there are groups, resources, and a better way to earn money. I hope this blog lets people know where I am now in my life and where I would like to be. I am a bit crazy sometimes because no matter how you try to remove yourself from your life you must change it to make things type='text'>Not Homeless Anymore

I have finally got a place to live. I have been worrying about lots of people on the streets as well as my self. I feel left out when I don't go to the library. I normally go to the library see all the homeless people that I used to hang around with. I sometimes talk to them. I was there last week to actually help one friend with a resume. She needed a resume and I let her use my computer. While doing that I ran into a friend that is homeless that I describe as the sensitive talker. The sensitive talker what upset about another homeless person that is usually rude and talks trash to him. I told sensitive talker to not let it get to him, but he said it did because this time the guy snapped at him then threatened him. I told sensitive talker that sometimes people are going through things that we don't know or understand and they take it out on us for no apparent reason. Sensitive talker just went on and on about it, then finally got upset about his best friend talking to the guy about it and not sharing the information. He went on about his best friend and of course started crying. Finally, he stopped then left to go to his computer upstairs. I then check on my friend with the resume and she was still doing it. I then went looking for another friend but found the odd couple, that is what I will classify them as for the purpose of this blog. The women in the odd couple has a place but the man doesn't. The women has a mother that has some kind of condition that may be cause black outs and loss of memory. Her mother is older, maybe seventy. I advise to get her help or let your mother live with you and your man. Her mother can't stand her man and doesn't want to live in a facility that would help her. I talked for about 45 minutes. Then finally, I gave them information from online to help them and told them to ask if they needed more to let me know. I went back to my computer and the girl with resume was done and waiting for me to return. Then another friend came over and we usually have fun, I am going to classify him as sassy. So sassy and I were talking when sensitive talker came over again to talk some more about all the stress and things on his mind. He was supposed to be on his way out, his best friend was waiting and he just felt he could just wait until he was finish talking. Sassy, aware of what was about to happen, felt the sudden to go to an appointment. I wanted to see my friend the country genius but he doesn't stay around all the time. I can only see him occasionally. I hope things are well with him. I miss talking to people that I don't have to explain things too or need detail for. I feel that there are too many people I spend time with that are not intelligent but that can not be true. I think I need to just look for friends that want more and have morals with goals.

Start a non homeless adventure!

<div class="separator" A friend of mine had called. When I called him back he said him and his boyfriend had got into a big fight yesterday and he asked me to come over. I said yes because I was going to sleep out. I went over, eat some food then took a nap. His boyfriend came in, dropped off somethings then left. When I woke up I went to the store to get dinner. I came back to his place cooked dinner then his boyfriend decided to gather things for their party that was supposed to happen yesterday. We ate then I got my things together for a shower and bed. It had been about two hours since his boyfriend said he was on his way when he called again to say he wanted me to stay at the boyfriend's friends place. She was going to be because she had to get up early. She was there from the first call. Now that it is almost midnight I have to pack up and leave. I might have stayed at that woman's house but its really to late. So I got on the bus and left. My friend called me after I was half way to my destination. When I got to the transfer center I caught a second bus. I got off the bus and realized that I should rude this bus to keep warm. I walked to the bus stop. On my way a drunk started trying to talk to me. When I told him I was good he said no you're not and called me bitch. I walked fast hoping he would leave me alone but he caught up with me and came directly to me. He kept offering me money, insulting me, and drinking his beer. He used nigga and nigger. He said he was a drug dealer. He said he didn't like black girls because they use him. But of course he wouldn't stop talking to me. Finally he went to a corner spot to relieve himself, he kept talking to me and got mad at me because I wouldn't look at him, so I walked away and the bus came on time.

Crazy Friday Night

I was spending the night at a friend's house but I wanted a snack for the night. I wanted some cookies with milk. I waited until my friends came out of their room about 8:45pm, then left to go to the store. After I got off the bus, there was a women trying to walk fast. We kept up together until I reached to store parking lot. In the parking lot was some young men. The young men threw down a liquor bottle which scared me, but I continued to the store. In the store I forgot what I was at the store for. I remembered I need some hot chocolate to replace at my friend's house from my use. After I walked to the bus stop I saw a gay guy with a friend. They were talking about the straight one losing his transfer. All of a sudden a guy walking by with a look of an angry gang member. He turns around, comes back to circle the bus stop and ask the to guys what gang they were in and when the didn't respond he walked away with yelling he was "Northeno" something. A few minutes after that some guys across the street were pushing over patio furniture that was outside of a building. Finally the bus came before something else happened. I then went back to my friend's house and had my cookies and milk.

Little Indian

A man that lost his parents when he was little and his will to live. He now lives at the shelter. He has a best friend that is very sensitive. He was not nature or loved. He now gets love from his best friend.
