Hey everyone!

I'm so excited to be a part of Operation Write Home's annual Memorial Day Blog Hop!  There are literally over 100 individuals and companies participating in this weekend's tribute to our troops.  We remember.  We are thankful!

For my card, I chose to make a card to send TO one of our heros via the AnyHero Mail program.  If I had my way, it would go to someone in the navy, in part because it just fits, and in part because my daddy served in the navy.  So, I have a bit of a soft spot for them. :) 

I began with a Kraft card base and a few strips of patterned paper from Authentique's Glory collection.  That darling image is from the Aye Aye Captain set from The Cat's Pajamas.  I die-cut the circle, air-brushed the background with my B32 (sky) & B39 (water) Copic markers.  I stamped the image in Memento Espresso Truffle, colored it with Copic markers, hand-cut it, and popped it up with Dimensionals.

We all chose one of OWH's sketches as a jumping off place.  Here's the sketch I chose:

Inside the card, I added a couple more strips of patterned paper, stamped the images in Kraft ink, and stamped the sentiments in Electric Red ink.  The sentiments are from a retired set from MFT.

Happy Friday, friends!

This week the Flourishes design team is focusing on a couple of fantastic masculine sets.  I chose to work with What a Catch, and some rich papers from Bo Bunny's Mama-razzi collection.  The dark brown card stock layers are from the Rich Browns Color Made Easy Collection.  The die-cuts are from the Tailor-Made Classic Keyhole die set.  A strip of stitched brown grosgrain divides the papers.  I balanced the card with a couple of Candies on the top left, and one of my son's fishing lures on the bottom right.  A bit of twine serves as a rustic fishing line.

I stamped the image on Classic Ivory card stock with Memento Espresso Truffle ink, cut it out by hand, and colored it with the following Copic Marker Collections:

Inside the card, I added a couple of strips of patterned paper, stamped the fish & "Dad" in Ranger Rusty Hinge Distress Ink, and stamped the sentiments in Ranger Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
