Lashem - Double Trouble Mascara - Review

I while back I got the chance to try out the Lashem Double Trouble Mascara, I'd not heard of Lashem before but my lashes can use all the help they can get for sure. I really dislike mascaras that clump or give you that "spider leg" look, I want the nicely separated non clump look when I do my makeup.

Pros: It didn't clump on me and I did notice it separated my lashes nicely and made them look longer/fuller. The formula didn't bother my sensitive eyes like some mascaras can, I also don't notice flaking as much with this like other brands. I did notice it is very easy to remove it, with some mascaras I find I have to almost "scrub" my eyes to remove them.

Cons: I don't find any cons with this, I feel like for it not being a drugstore brand the price isn't a huge deal and I love the fact this doesn't clump on me and feels nicer as well as doesn't irritate my eyes.

Pros: You can use one coat or two to add a little or a lot of extra sparkle. DBP, Toluene & Formaldehyde Free, this is a plus for me because I try to stay away from them. The formula is nice and I had no issues applying any of them. The price is nice considering the fact it's possible dupes for the high end brands that cost twice as much.

Cons: I didn't find any cons with these nail polishes, all performed well and the effect is gorgeous.

I've been dying to try the Haute Flash Lipgloss, every time I went to a store I would check to see if they had them. I wasn't able to find them at the places I looked, I was excited at the chance to try these out and I cannot wait to try them out. I know they said they compare and are dupes to some of the MAC Dare to Wear Lipglass, I only own Gimmie That! but I can't wait to compare the two.

I will have more product photos as well as swatches posted sometime this weekend, so far I can say the smell is very nice and does remind me of the pleasant smell of a MAC gloss which is really nice.

My Husband is a Sneak...

So on Tuesday night the husband took me to Best Buy to purchase me an iMac, before that however he said he would rather buy me a cheeseburger over spending that much (he loves to save money, it's like leveling in a video game to him lol).

Anyway he decided instead to deny me a cheeseburger and actually buy me the iMac, needless to say I was excited because I'm always stealing his to do my tutorial editing on. Anyway we proceeded into Best Buy and waited patiently for like 10 minutes for someone to help us only to find out they did not carry the better one in stock.

Long story short I was denied both a delicious cheeseburger AND the iMac... it was a sad night and I finished it off by saying "Noooooooooo!! Denied!" and laughed that it was a night of "Fail". Anyway we had planned on heading off to the Apple store on Saturday instead which is an hour drive from our house. I was disappointed in waiting but didn't mind greatly because I knew I was going to have it eventually.

So anyway yesterday the husband comes over to me at work and says he's leaving for the day because he's feeling really sick, his face was red and he really did not look well at all. So I go about my day and patiently wait for the night to be over so I can get home to take care of the husband. I also had no ride home because we currently only have one car which normally isn't a huge deal since we work at the same place. Currently we have one of our friends living with us and he also works at the same place we do so he ended up come back to work to pick me up.

On the way home he advised me that we had to stop at a restaurant and pick up the food my husband had ordered for himself, we picked up the food and on the way home he told me how sick my husband looked and that he had been sleeping the whole day. So I got home took the food into the bedroom to check on the husband then proceeded to walking into the computer room and put my things on my desk like I normally do.

I walked in noticed the my desk was all straightened up and in my chair there was a bouquet of flowers and a note on my desk. Mind you the lights were out and only the hallway light was shining in so I couldn't really see things too well. I glanced over the note and smiled and starting saying how sneaky the husband was for getting me something early. He proceeded to tell me to go look again so I walked in and he turned on the computer room light and I FINALLY noticed that I had a brand new iMac sitting on my desk lol.

My husband is really sneaky, he actually had changed his schedule so that he was working a half day and working on Saturday instead and he went out to the Apple store and bought it! I have the sweetest husband and I'm so happy to have him. :)

MAC Cosmetics Haul

I haven't been as active in ordering from MAC Cosmetics, mainly because I own so much already from them I've been dabbling with other companies. Also the fact most of their collections they release are Limited Edition so I save for what I really want/cannot live without from them because otherwise I'd be broke!

Recently I got excited about the new collection Vera that was releasing, mainly because the Crushed Pigments (Butterfly Party to be exact) are colors I absolutely love! I ended up placing an ordering as soon as it was available to me.

Anyway onto the pictures!

I was sad when I opened up my package because Sunday Afternoon Face Powder did not survive the trip and exploded all over everything.

As you can see it was no longer recognizable and what was left was just a huge mess. I immediately contacted MAC about this and they told me they would send out a replacement right away with 2 day shipping. That is one thing I give MAC is that I've never had any issue if there was a problem with my order, of all the times I've placed one (about 20 or more) I've only had 2 problems.

I did take the powder and repressed it into something... I'm not quite sure what it is, it's almost like a hybrid highlighter/blush. Anyway I'll have swatches and more product photos up soon and hopefully should receive my replacement Sunday Afternoon Powder before then.

During Black Friday Sugarpill had a sale so I of course told the husband he had no say in the fact I was ordering a pretty decent haul from them. I ended up getting most of the things I don't own with the exception of some (I really need to get Tipsy, Magentric, Magpie, Asylum, Decora, Hysteric, and Starling... darn the budget!!). I already own all of the pressed powders which I absolutely love along with some previous Chromalust I bought!

Recently Sugarpill released 19 eyelash sets, I don't own any of their eyelashes mainly because budget and when I do have extra funds to order I go for the eyeshadows. I really do need to at least get one pair next time I can place an order.

I cannot wait to see what they release next!

Price: $12.00 for 4.5 grams (Chromalusts), $12.00 for 4 grams (Pressed Shadows).

Pros: All the shadows are pigmented, the price is reasonable for the amount of product and quality you get, the packaging is cute which is always a plus and gives Sugarpill it's own personality that is very much in line with the owner Shrinkle a.k.a Amy. The products are always very well packaged, I've ordered 3 or maybe 4 times now and never had anything damaged. The customer service is outstanding like when I first ordered (which was when they first opened) my Burning Heart palette had an issue with Buttercupcake, it was really soft to the touch so much that it would dent it with my fingerprint and I couldn't swatch it easily. I contacted them to ask if this was normal and they immediately sent me out a replacement Buttercupcake. Anyway this Pro part is getting really long winded but I cannot say enough good things about this company!

Cons: Nothing, I can truly say this is a company I 100% adore! They excel at everything they throw out there, they know how to handle customer service issues, they know how to promote their products, the packaging is great, and this is a Cons area but omg I'm turning it into a Pros area lol.

Would I order again? Heck yeah!!! I will order until I own everything!!! I would recommend them to anyone especially if you love bright colors and quality products!

Wet n Wild 2012 Color Icon Single Shadows - Review

Recently when I stopped by my local super market I came across some new Wet n Wild Color Icon Singles. I only grabbed 5 of them but I believe they had a few more then that to choose from, I know they had a pink one as well as a white one.

The ones I bought were not in any special packaging although I know some places have these singles packaged with an eyeliner pencil. The ones I purchased cost me $1.89 each at my local Meijer's, I'm not sure how much they are selling other places however.

Price: $1.89 at my local Meijer's, I believe the price is the same most place or close.

Pros: I LOVE these single shadows, the pigmentation is amazing, the shades are gorgeous, the price is fantastic, and Panther is one of the darkest black shadows I have ever come across! If you see these at your local store definitely grab them (especially Panther and Stagedive!!).

Cons: Honestly I don't see any cons to these shadows, the price is right, the pigmentation is right, the only thing that someone might not like is the normal powdery texture of some. I did not however really notice any to be powdery in the ones I grabbed.

Would I purchase again?: Absolutely!! These shadows are great for the price, the pigmentation is there, the quality is there and I cannot stress how dark Panther is!! I mean look at them with no base and one swipe!

Glamour Doll Eyes Valentine Set 2012 - First Look

On January 15th Glamour Doll Eyes released a Valentine's Day Set, this set was Limited Edition (60 total released). I stalked the website per usual and was lucky enough to get one of them, this set sold for $26.

I still have the Halloween Set 1 to swatch along with the Holiday Set 1 and 2 to swatch (still really behind).

The difference for this set from the other ones released is this one included a tower of shadows, mini pink Control Freak, mini Foil Me, mini Lip Gloss, and Eyelight.

So a while back around October (yes I am that far behind!) I placed my first order with Geek Chic Cosmetics. Geek Chic is a home based Indie company that specializes in making products inspired by... well Geek stuff of course.

The shadows and other products they make are named with such inspirations as Video Games, Card Games, Sci-Fi Shows, Books, ect. So to sum it up this company specializes in channeling your inner geek (or outer in my case)!

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush - Review

Last week I stopped at my local Walgreen's to pick up the Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-Hour Eyeshadows and I happened upon these new Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush. I don't own a TON of blushes really since my collection consist of mainly eye products but I thought the shades looked pretty so I grabbed two of them.

They had these blushes for Buy One Get One 50% Off which is why I picked up two of them, they retail there for $6.99 so I got the second for half off that.

Pros: I found this is very lightweight feeling, it is buildable, it does seem to melt seamlessly when I apply it. It also doesn't bother my sensitive skin, ome people have said it's not very bendable but I personally had no issues with this.

Cons: Honestly I found no con for this blush, I really love how it feels and looks on my skin. I have heard that the pigmentation may not be enough for darker skin tones though, I personally can not put this as a con because I haven't been able to test that aspect out. They have 10 different shades of these ranging from pink, coral, to brown tones.

Would I purchase again?: Absolutely!! I love these blushes, the way it feels on my skin and shades I picked up look great on my pale skin as well. I plan on trying to purchase the others when I can talk the husband into letting me splurge.

Recent Makeup Hauls and Wins... Someday I Will Catch Up!

This is just a post of recent stuff I've gotten or had luck enough to get.

To start off I just got a package from a Giveaway I won, I think it's funny because a couple days before I found out I won the Giveaway I was about to purchase the Urban Decay Naked Palette but decided to hold off due to funds.

I'll have a post on each of these palettes along with an First Look post stating where I won it (seriously love the site because of all the great posts for reviews, products, ect!).

When the Husband and I went grocery shopping on Monday he let me run a muck in the beauty section and I walked past this other display they had with a TON of stuff. I was in a hurry so I think I missed a few things. I ended up grabbing 5 of the new eyeshadows though, I'll be sure to post swatches and reviews shortly.

Somethings that weren't from this store but from Walgreen's on a display sort of like this that I picked up as well.

Also not from this display from that particular store but this is what the display looks like, I actually got two from my local Walgreen's for Buy One get One Half Off Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blushes.

And again from Walgreen's for Buy One get One Half Off, Maybelline Color Tattoo 24-Hour Eyeshadows.

And last but not least I went back to my local Sephora to see if they had anymore of the Kat Von D Metal Orchestra palettes but when that was a bust I impulse bought the Benefit Hervana Blush.

A week or so ago I stopped at my local Walgreen's to get some things and of course I went browsing the makeup department. When I turned a corner on saw this end cap display for the new Wet n Wild 2012 collection.

I of course had to pick up a couple things, I wanted to grab some of the lipsticks but for some reason I decided to wait to grab them.

Anyway here are the things I picked up!

I picked up the lightest shade of Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana, retails for $3.99.

I also grabbed a Juicy Lip Balm in Raspberry, retails for $2.99.

I'll have a review and more swatches when I've had a chance to really test these outs.

Adore Me Intimates - Review

Adore me Intimates is basically a monthly membership to buy lingerie and have it hand picked for you to fit your profile. You start by creating a profile and taking a quick survey or test about what appeals to you in the department of intimates.

I found the site easy to navigate, the showroom that was picked out for me after taking the quiz was very accurate on items I personally would pick out and it matched my personality 100%. Once I had done the quiz the Showroom was ready for me the next morning.

The cost per set is $39.95 and includes free shipping, I placed my order on December 6th, 2011 later in the evening and got my shipping notice on December 8th, 2011. I received my order on December 12th, 2011 so shipping was fast. It was shipped USPS.

My outfit came package in a cute little white box with the company name printed on the top, the item was neatly wrapped in pink tissue paper and sealed with a sticker as well which added a nice touch to the whole thing. The outfit itself was definitely as described on the website and was exactly what I like in my intimate items.

The fit was very accurate to the size and the product itself is very nice quality, there are a ton of choices on the site and you can choose items outside your showroom as well.

What is Adore Me? In their words:

"We are different than other lingerie brands because Adore Me is a subscription based eCommerce website, that offers women a personalized selection of lingerie, picked by professional Stylists each month! Price is a steal at only $39.95 per lingerie set, free shipping, free exchanges."

According to the site if you wish not to purchase an item in a month and avoid the monthly $39.95 charge, all you have to is opt out of that month on the site. If you are charged the $39.95 in a month because you say forgot then you can apply that amount towards a future purchase within 12 months.

Pros: Showroom selected for your personality each month, $39.95 per set with free shipping, tons of outfits to choose from.

Cons: The only con I could think of for this is the fact you have to call to cancel the membership, sometimes I don't have time to call and would just like the option to cancel on the site itself. Other then that the fact I can use any built up credit within 12 months for future purchases kind of makes up for any "forgetful" moments I might have.

Would I join again? I am definitely going to try them out again! Currently I'm not able to splurge on this but I would love to try it out again and I've already got my eye on a January outfit in my showroom that I really want! Just need to see if the husband will let me splurge eventually lol.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Kit - Review

Quite a while back I was sent the Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Kit for Eyes and Brows, this wasn't the first time for me owning an Anastasia Beverly Hills kit though. I had actually gotten a kit a long time ago and used it to groom my brows, I stopped using it for a bit because I actually gave it to my mother who didn't know how to shape her brows properly. She had mentioned she wanted to try and get them to look nicer so I gave up my stencils to her.

Anyway onto the photos!

The kit comes with 5 different stencils for 5 different brow sizes and arches, a brush for putting the powder through your brows, brow wax for holding the brows in place, 2 shades of brow powder, and 2 shades of eye shadow. It also comes with instructions on how to groom your brows.

I used the Medium Arch stencil to shape my brows, I really love this kit as it is easy to use and keeps me from having to pay someone $15+ to shape my brows for me.

Price: $39.50 for the kit at Anastasia Beverly Hills

Pros: Allows me to shape my brows without paying $15+ for someone else to do it for me each time. Comes with instructions and everything you need which makes an easy to use kit. The price is reasonable considering I can use it multiple times and last a long time.

Cons: The only con I could see is this kit only comes in Blonde or Brunette, when I dye my hair black I like to use an extremely dark shade for my brows. It would be nice if the kits came in a darker range of color. This really isn't a huge deal for people who like to have a more natural brow shade so I wouldn't necessarily say it's a reason not to buy it as I still love it for shaping my brows.

Would I order Again: Absolutely!! I love the fact it's got everything I need for a perfect brow and I don't have to shell out money every time I want to clean up the growth!

Dinair Aibrush - Limited Edition Fuchsia Leopard Print Compressor

So I still have to do my airbrush review on the new compressor style (thanks to the holidays, sickness, and my Dad being admitted to the hospital with heart failure I've been behind on everything).

I have to say I love the changes in the compressor from the old one, it's a huge difference in how quiet it is now compared to the old model! I love the fact the airbrush makeup looks great and like my own skin and that I can build it up without it feeling like a mask.

Anyway right now Dinair has a Limited Edition Fuchsia Leopard Print Compressor, if I didn't already own two of them I'd for sure be purchasing this! I was actually considering buying it anyway because it's so cute!

Also if you haven't checked out their site they currently have a payment plan to make it easier to purchase! The payment plan breaks the balance of the kit into 6 payments over the course of 6 months! So if you've ever wanted a kit but just can't shell out the full amount right off this is definitely a great way to purchase one.
