Loren Coleman: The Man Who Catalogs the Impossible

Loren Coleman is one of the most respected names in cryptozoology; not because he chases monsters, but because he documents them. For decades, Coleman has tracked sightings, patterns, and strange events with the precision of a scientist and the curiosity of an explorer.

He founded the International Cryptozoology Museum, wrote dozens of books, and uncovered patterns in sightings that most people overlook. Coleman doesn’t claim every creature is real; he simply says the evidence deserves investigation. From Bigfoot to lake monsters to unexplained disappearances, he’s spent his life cataloging the mysteries the world tries to ignore.

He has written articles and books on cryptozoology and other Fortean topics, including over 40 books on the subject. Coleman has carried out fieldwork throughout North America regarding sightings, trace evidence, and Native peoples' traditions of Sasquatch and other possible cryptids. He appeared on NPR to discuss the death of anthropologist and fellow cryptozoologist Grover Krantz.

Whether you believe in cryptids or not, Coleman’s work shows one thing clearly: the world is stranger than we think.

NEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAPTURING BIGFOOT FILM: THE DISAPPEARING HAT AND PISTOL

2026-10-25T17:06:02.747-05:00

NEW QUESTIONS ABOUT THE CAPTURING BIGFOOT FILM:

THE DISAPPEARING HAT AND PISTOL

New questions about the Capturing Bigfoot documentary have been raised by Todd Gatewood, who noticed something unusual in the alleged recovered footage.

The disappearing hat and pistol.

Looking at the images of the horse and rider, the rider's hat appears to change or suddenly appear. There are also questions about an object that looks like a pistol, which seems to disappear and reappear.

We sometimes see these types of inconsistencies in AI-generated videos. However, motion blur, camera angles, and poor image quality can also produce strange visual effects.

I've suspected from the beginning that the supposed recovered footage could be AI-generated, but I have several other questions about this documentary.

*Where is the footage of Bob Heironimus actually putting on or taking off any Bigfoot suit?

*Why wasn't the alleged recovered footage presented as a clear, direct digital transfer in the documentary? Why show it over someone's shoulder as it plays on a screen?

*If Bob Heironimus is the person in the alleged rehearsal footage, what independent evidence identifies him?

*What about Heironimus's previous statements and the details of his story that have reportedly changed over the years?

*Where is the physical costume?

*We're told the original "Patty suit" was burned. But what about the supposed rehearsal suit? Was it the same costume? If so, what evidence establishes that?

And there are other questions.

I'm not claiming that the disappearing hat and pistol prove AI was used. But I do believe these apparent inconsistencies deserve a closer examination.

I've questioned this documentary from the beginning, and nothing I've seen so far has convinced me that the alleged rehearsal footage is authentic.

The filmmakers of Capturing Bigfoot are making an extraordinary claim, so the burden of proof rests with them.

Until the original footage is made available for independent examination, I believe there are plenty of reasons to remain skeptical.

Capturing Bigfoot: Five Questions the Alleged Test Footage Needs to Answer

Capturing Bigfoot: Five Questions the Alleged Test Footage Needs to Answer

By Thomas Marcum | TCC Research

Yesterday, I shared some of my thoughts about the new documentary Capturing Bigfoot and the allegedly discovered test footage that supposedly proves the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film was a hoax.

Since then, I've spent a little more time looking at the images and watching some of the footage being circulated.

And guess what?

I'm still not convinced, but maybe.

Now, before someone jumps on me, let me make something clear. I have not watched the entire documentary. I'm simply looking at the footage and images that have been made available and giving my opinion based on what I see.

I've been researching Bigfoot for nearly 30 years, and I've seen plenty of supposed evidence, hoax claims, confessions, and everything in between.

This is certainly not the first time someone has claimed to have finally exposed the Patterson-Gimlin film.
But this time, we supposedly have some long-lost test footage.
Okay, fine. Let's take a closer look.

I have five questions.

1. Where Did This Footage Come From?

This is probably my biggest question.

We're being told that this footage was filmed before the famous Patterson-Gimlin encounter in October 1967.

But how do we know that?

Who originally owned the film? Where was it stored? Who discovered it? Is there documentation showing when it was filmed?

Has the original film stock been examined by independent experts?

And perhaps most importantly, is there a documented chain of custody?

According to claims, the original suit was burned, but they kept the test footage that could bust the hoax?

Just because footage looks old doesn't necessarily mean it is old. As someone who works with video editing, film restoration, and visual effects, I know firsthand that footage can be altered to give it an aged appearance.

I'm not saying that's what happened here.

I'm saying that if you're going to claim you've uncovered footage that exposes one of the most famous films in Bigfoot history as a hoax, you need to establish exactly what that footage is and where it came from.

Until then, it's just another claim that needs to be investigated.

2. Why Doesn't the Creature Look the Same?

This is something that stood out to me almost immediately.

Yes, the figures in the alleged test footage resemble Bigfoot. They have dark bodies, long arms, and generally ape-like appearances.

But that doesn't mean they are the same figure seen in the Patterson-Gimlin film.

In some of the newly released footage, the creature appears extremely bulky through the shoulders and upper back.

To me, it almost looks as though someone has stuffed a considerable amount of padding underneath a costume.

The back seems rounded and oversized, and the upper body looks unusually heavy compared with the legs.

Then there's the rump.

In the original Patterson-Gimlin footage, Patty has a fairly distinctive lower-body structure. The buttocks, thighs, and overall body proportions have been discussed and analyzed for decades.

In this alleged test footage, the rump looks different to me. It appears less defined, and the transition from the lower back into the legs doesn't seem to match what we see in the original film.

The head and shoulder proportions also appear different in some frames.

Now, I understand that camera angles, lighting, movement, and poor image quality can affect how something looks.

But if we're supposed to believe this is the same costume, shouldn't there be some convincing anatomical similarities?

I'm just not seeing enough of them in these images.

3. What's the Story With the Horse and Rider?

Here's something else I noticed.

The alleged test footage includes a horse and rider, much like the circumstances surrounding the original Patterson-Gimlin film.

I watched that portion several times and stopped the video to examine it.

Something about the clothing worn by the rider caught my attention.

To me, it looked more modern than what I would expect from the mid-1960s, but I could be wrong.

Now, I'm not a clothing historian, and I certainly wouldn't claim that the clothing proves anything based on the brief footage I've seen.

But I think it's worth examining.

What kind of clothing is the rider wearing? What about the pants and boots? Can any of the clothing or riding equipment be identified and dated?

I realize that some western clothing styles have changed very little over the years.

Still, if someone could positively identify an item that wasn't manufactured until after 1967, that would raise some serious questions about the claimed age of the footage.

On the other hand, if everything checks out as period-correct, that's useful information too.

Either way, it's something that deserves a closer look.

4. If This Was a Test, Where Is the Connection to the Original Film?

Let's say, for the sake of argument, that the alleged test footage really was filmed in 1966 or 1967.
Let's also assume that someone was wearing a Bigfoot costume.

What does that actually prove?

It would prove that someone filmed a person wearing a Bigfoot costume.

But how does that establish that the same costume was used in the Patterson-Gimlin film?
Was it the same location? The same people? The same costume?
Is there documentation connecting the footage directly to Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin? Can the costume itself be identified? (I know some of these answers are in the film)

If the claim is that this was an early prototype, then where is the evidence showing how that prototype became the figure we see in the 1967 film?

Those are important questions.

A general resemblance isn't enough for me.

There needs to be a direct, verifiable connection between the alleged test footage and the original film.

Without that connection, I don't see how anyone can reasonably call it definitive proof of a hoax.

5. Is This Really New Evidence, or Just Another Attempt to Cash In?

This is where my skepticism really comes into play.
For decades, we've heard people claim they were involved in hoaxing the Patterson-Gimlin film.
We've heard stories about costumes, confessions, and supposed inside information.
Some of these claims have involved the same individuals who have been part of this controversy for years.

And yet, here we are again.

Another documentary. Another supposed revelation. Another claim that the mystery has finally been solved.

And this time, the HD rental is listed at $19.99 on Amazon.

Now, that's my opinion. I'm not claiming to know the filmmakers' intentions. They may genuinely believe they've uncovered something important.

I also understand that documentaries cost money to produce. I've made plenty of them myself. I know the time, effort, and expense involved.

There's nothing wrong with filmmakers trying to earn money from their work.

But when you're marketing a film around the idea that you've finally exposed the Patterson-Gimlin footage as a hoax, the evidence needs to live up to that claim. Maybe it will and does.

And from what I've seen publicly so far, I'm just not convinced, yet.

My Opinion Remains the Same

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.

The Patterson-Gimlin film is not the entire Bigfoot subject.

It's an important piece of Bigfoot history, and I personally believe there is something significant about that footage.

But even if someone eventually proved beyond any reasonable doubt that the 1967 film was a hoax, it wouldn't change what I've experienced in the field.

I've spent nearly three decades researching this subject.

I've examined tracks, investigated reports, spent countless hours in the mountains, and had sightings of my own.

I know what I've seen with my own eyes.

No documentary is going to change that.

I'm always willing to examine new evidence, even when it challenges something I believe. That's part of being a researcher.

But evidence needs to stand on its own.

I haven't watched the complete Capturing Bigfoot documentary, and perhaps it contains additional information that answers some of these questions.

If it does, I'll be interested in examining it.

But until then, I'm not ready to accept that a few pieces of allegedly rediscovered footage have finally solved a mystery that has been debated for nearly 60 years.

Ho hum. More debate.

Show me the evidence. Show me where it came from. Show me how it connects to the original film.

Then maybe we'll have something worth talking about.

Until then, I'm still not convinced.

Note: These observations are based on publicly circulated footage and still images. I have not watched the complete documentary. My comments are opinions and questions about the evidence presented publicly, not conclusions about the filmmakers' intentions.

Capturing Bigfoot: Does the Alleged Test Footage Really Expose the Patterson-Gimlin Film as a Hoax?

Capturing Bigfoot: Does the Alleged Test Footage Really Expose the Patterson-Gimlin Film as a Hoax?

By Thomas Marcum | TCC Research

Some images from the new documentary Capturing Bigfoot are finally coming out. Supposedly, the film exposes the famous 1967 Patterson-Gimlin Bigfoot film as a hoax through some recently discovered footage.

I've been looking at some of the still frames being circulated, including comparisons between the original Patterson-Gimlin footage and the allegedly discovered "test" footage.

I'm not convinced.

I have not seen the movie, but just looking at these still frames, I do not find them convincing. While the figures are similar, there are some noticeable differences that I think deserve attention.

Differences Between Patty and the Alleged Test Footage

Head and Facial Structure

One of the first things I noticed was the difference in the head and facial structure. In some of the alleged test footage, the creature appears to have a more rounded, almost gorilla-like head. The facial features also appear different from those of Patty in the original 1967 film.

Patty has a distinctive head shape and facial profile that do not appear to be clearly duplicated in these newly released images.

Shoulders and Upper Body

There also appear to be differences in the shoulder structure and upper body.

The figures in the alleged test footage seem to have a somewhat different shoulder-to-head ratio. In some frames, the shoulders look more squared off, while Patty's upper body has a more distinctive contour.

Of course, camera angles, lighting, and image quality can affect how these features appear. Still, the differences are noticeable.

Legs, Thighs, and Body Proportions

This is one of the more interesting differences to me.

In the original Patterson-Gimlin film, Patty has a heavy lower body, with pronounced thighs and gluteal contours. These are features that have been discussed and debated for decades.

The figures shown in the alleged test footage do not appear to reproduce those same proportions convincingly. Some look straighter through the lower torso, while others have a different overall body shape.

Hair, Fur, and Surface Detail

Another difference is the apparent texture and detail.

The original Patterson-Gimlin footage shows anatomical contours and a relatively close-fitting hair or fur appearance.

The alleged test footage appears less detailed, and some of the figures look considerably shaggier or bulkier in certain areas.

Granted, the quality of the images makes a definitive comparison difficult. But that works both ways. If the images are too poor to establish the differences conclusively, they are also too poor to establish that the figures are identical.

Next image.

In another frame from the alleged test footage, the figure appears unusually bulky through the shoulders and upper back, almost as if heavy padding has been added beneath the outer covering. The rump also appears noticeably different from Patty's in the original Patterson-Gimlin film. Patty has a more defined gluteal structure and heavier lower-body proportions, while this figure looks comparatively top-heavy. Although image quality and camera angles must be considered, these differences raise questions about whether we are looking at the same costume.

Where Did This Test Footage Come From?

This brings me to another important question.

How do we know when this alleged test footage was actually filmed?

There is really no way for someone looking at these released still frames to know whether the footage was created in the 1960s, more recently, or even specifically for the new documentary.

I'm not saying that is what happened. I'm saying the age, origin, and authenticity of the footage need to be independently verified.

If the filmmakers are going to claim that this footage exposes one of the most famous and controversial films in Bigfoot history as a hoax, then the evidence needs to be strong enough to support that conclusion.

Simply showing footage of someone in a Bigfoot costume is not enough.

There needs to be a verifiable connection between that footage and what Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin filmed in October 1967.

The Same Old Claims?

Another thing that stands out to me is that we seem to be hearing many of the same old claims we've heard for years, often involving some of the same people.

The Patterson-Gimlin film has been debated for nearly six decades. There have been numerous claims of hoaxes, confessions, costumes, and supposed explanations.

Yet the controversy continues.

I'm certainly open to examining new evidence, but repeating old allegations alongside newly presented footage doesn't automatically make those allegations true.

New evidence should be evaluated on its own merits, regardless of which side of the debate it supports.

My Opinion Has Not Changed

Ho hum. From what I've seen so far, this is not a smoking gun.

It does not change my opinion of the Patterson-Gimlin film or the Bigfoot subject at all.

I've spent nearly 30 years researching Bigfoot. I've investigated sightings, examined tracks, conducted field research, and had experiences of my own.

I know what I have seen with my own eyes.

Even if someone eventually proved beyond doubt that the Patterson-Gimlin film was a hoax, it would not erase my personal experiences or the many other reports and investigations that have nothing to do with that particular film.

The Bigfoot subject is much bigger than one piece of footage.

Will I Watch Capturing Bigfoot?

I have not watched Capturing Bigfoot, but I probably will at some point.

However, I will not pay $20 to watch it. That is for sure.

The film is available on Amazon, and the HD rental price is currently listed at $19.99.

For anyone interested in watching it and forming their own opinion, here is the link:

Watch Capturing Bigfoot on Amazon

For now, I'm simply not convinced by the images that have been released.

If the documentary presents additional compelling evidence, I'm willing to examine it. But based on these still frames, I don't see anything that conclusively proves the Patterson-Gimlin film was a hoax.

Similar is not the same, and allegations are not proof.

Thanks
~Thomas~

The Geneva Giant: Mysterious Creature Reported in Kentucky

2026-10-19T08:57:14.855-05:00

The Geneva Giant: Mysterious Creature Reported in Kentucky

Geneva, Kentucky — 2011

A mysterious, towering creature reportedly spotted in rural Kentucky became the subject of multiple eyewitness accounts in 2011. Dubbed the "Geneva Giant," the unidentified figure was described as standing seven to eight feet tall and covered in long, black hair.

One of the most startling encounters was reported by Jason Skaggs, who claimed to have seen the creature while riding his motorcycle along Trigg Turner Road in Geneva, Kentucky, on July 18, 2011.

According to Skaggs, the creature suddenly crossed the roadway directly in front of him.

"It crossed the road, from left to right, in 2 or 3 steps," Skaggs recalled.

What happened next was particularly unsettling. Rather than disappearing into the surrounding woods, the creature reportedly stopped just beyond the roadway and remained standing.

Skaggs wasted little time getting away.

"I just gunned it and drove by as fast as I could on the other side of the road," he explained.

However, this was not the first reported encounter with the mysterious figure.

Several months earlier, around March 12, 2011, two young boys were reportedly fishing at a nearby pond when they experienced something they would not soon forget.

One of the boys, 12-year-old Kaleb, stated that they heard an unusual noise coming from the opposite side of the pond. When he looked toward the sound, he reportedly saw a large, upright, hair-covered figure standing across the water.

Kaleb estimated that the creature stood between seven and eight feet tall and was covered in long, black fur.

The descriptions raised an intriguing question: Could both encounters have involved the same unidentified creature?

Although neither sighting established what the witnesses actually encountered, the reports added to Kentucky's long history of alleged Bigfoot activity.

From a quiet fishing pond to a sudden encounter along a rural roadway, the stories surrounding the Geneva Giant remain an interesting chapter in the region's unexplained folklore.

What do you think the witnesses encountered? Could a large, unidentified creature have been roaming the Geneva area in 2011?

Historical Bigfoot report — 2011

The Economic Impact of Bigfoot Festivals

2026-10-06T16:40:12.951-05:00

The Economic Impact of Bigfoot Festivals

Bigfoot festivals have become a surprising economic boost for many towns across the United States. What started as small gatherings has grown into major tourism events that bring in thousands of visitors and generate significant revenue.

Local hotels often book up weeks in advance. Restaurants see increased business, sometimes doubling their usual weekend numbers. Vendors travel from multiple states to sell artwork, books, crafts, and Bigfoot‑themed merchandise. Some festivals even bring in food trucks, live entertainment, and guided tours, all of which contribute to the local economy.

In towns with limited tourism, Bigfoot festivals can be one of the biggest financial events of the year. They attract families, researchers, outdoor enthusiasts, and curious visitors who might not otherwise travel to the area. Many festivals also partner with local parks, museums, or historical societies, creating additional revenue streams.

The economic impact goes beyond the festival weekend. Increased visibility often leads to repeat tourism. People return to hike local trails, visit nearby attractions, or attend future events. Some towns have even created year‑round Bigfoot shops or museums to capitalize on the interest.

Bigfoot festivals show how folklore and local history can become powerful economic tools. They bring communities together, support small businesses, and help rural areas thrive.

Why Small Towns Host Bigfoot Festivals

2026-10-05T15:49:00.943-05:00

Why Small Towns Host Bigfoot Festivals

Across the United States, small towns have embraced Bigfoot festivals as a way to celebrate local history, boost tourism, and bring communities together. Many of these towns have long‑standing stories of sightings, unusual encounters, or regional folklore that goes back generations. Hosting a festival gives them a chance to highlight that heritage.

Bigfoot festivals often start with a simple idea: a town wants to celebrate something unique about its area. Maybe there was a well‑known sighting decades ago. Maybe the region has dense forests, rugged terrain, or a history of unexplained events. Over time, these small gatherings grow into annual traditions.

Local businesses benefit from the influx of visitors. Hotels, restaurants, shops, and vendors all see increased activity during festival weekends. Some towns report their highest tourism numbers of the year during Bigfoot events.

These festivals also give researchers and eyewitnesses a place to share their experiences. Many include presentations, Q&A sessions, and panel discussions. People who have kept quiet about sightings for years often feel comfortable speaking up in these environments.

For many communities, Bigfoot festivals are about more than the creature itself. They’re about identity, storytelling, and celebrating the outdoors. They bring people together, create memories, and help preserve local folklore.

The Biggest Bigfoot Festivals in the U.S.

2026-10-04T13:14:35.457-05:00

The Biggest Bigfoot Festivals in the U.S.

Bigfoot festivals have grown from small local gatherings into major annual events across the United States. Today, some of these festivals draw thousands of visitors, feature nationally known speakers, and bring in significant tourism revenue. Here are a few of the largest and most well‑known Bigfoot festivals in the country.

The Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival in Tennessee has become one of the biggest in the Southeast. It features researchers, vendors, live music, and eyewitness panels. Attendance has grown every year, with people traveling from multiple states to take part.

The Ohio Bigfoot Conference at Salt Fork State Park is often considered one of the most respected Bigfoot events in the country. It regularly sells out, bringing in well‑known researchers, authors, and speakers. Salt Fork itself is a hotspot for sightings, which adds to the draw.

The Oregon Bigfoot Festival taps into the Pacific Northwest’s long history of sightings. Oregon and Washington have some of the highest numbers of reported encounters, and the festival reflects that with guided hikes, educational booths, and family‑friendly activities.

The Whitehall Sasquatch Festival in New York celebrates one of the most famous East Coast Bigfoot encounters — the 1976 Whitehall sighting witnessed by multiple police officers. The town has embraced its history, and the festival continues to grow.

The Honobia Bigfoot Festival in Oklahoma is known for its campfire storytelling, local history, and strong community involvement. It’s one of the longest‑running festivals in the central U.S.

These festivals aren’t just about Bigfoot. They’re about local culture, outdoor adventure, folklore, and community tradition. And every year, more towns join in.

THE RISE OF BIGFOOT FESTIVALS IN AMERICA

2026-10-03T10:26:41.927-05:00

THE RISE OF BIGFOOT FESTIVALS IN AMERICA: A LOOK AT HOW THEY GREW

Bigfoot festivals have become one of the fastest‑growing types of community events in the United States. Twenty or thirty years ago, you’d only find a handful of small gatherings, usually local meet‑ups, a speaker or two, maybe a booth selling cast footprints. Today, there are dozens of Bigfoot festivals across the country, many drawing thousands of visitors.

The growth didn’t happen overnight. It started slowly in the late 1990s and early 2000s, when interest in cryptids began rising again thanks to documentaries, books, and early internet forums. Small towns with long histories of sightings began hosting events to celebrate their local stories. These early festivals were modest, but they laid the foundation for what would come next.

By the 2010s, Bigfoot festivals were popping up in states with strong sighting histories: Washington, Oregon, California, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Attendance grew each year. Vendors began traveling from state to state. Researchers and authors started appearing as guest speakers. Some festivals added live music, food trucks, guided hikes, and nighttime “expedition” walks.

Today, Bigfoot festivals are held in nearly every region of the country. Some attract over 10,000 visitors in a single weekend. They bring in tourism dollars, support local businesses, and give communities a chance to celebrate their history, folklore, and outdoor culture. Many festivals now include educational booths, footprint casting demonstrations, eyewitness panels, and presentations from well‑known researchers.

Whether someone believes in Bigfoot or not, these festivals have become a part of American culture — a mix of folklore, science, outdoor adventure, and community tradition. And every year, more towns join in.

Have you ever been to a Bigfoot festival, or does your area host one?

THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST

2026-09-29T17:49:55.127-05:00

THE ENFIELD POLTERGEIST: A LOOK AT ONE OF THE MOST DOCUMENTED HAUNTINGS IN HISTORY

The Enfield Poltergeist case took place between 1977 and 1979 at 284 Green Street in Enfield, North London. What makes this case stand out is the sheer number of credible witnesses: police officers, neighbors, journalists, photographers, social workers, and investigators. Over 1,500 incidents were documented. This wasn’t a one-night scare. It was a two-year ordeal.

The First Night

The haunting began when Peggy Hodgson, a single mother, heard her daughters Janet (11) and Margaret (13) screaming. When she entered their room, she saw a chest of drawers sliding across the floor on its own. The girls were pressed against the wall, terrified. Peggy pushed the chest back, but it moved again as if someone was pushing from the other side. That moment marked the start of the activity.

Police Involvement

Two police officers responded to the home. While inside, they witnessed a chair slide several feet across the floor without anyone touching it. They inspected the chair and the floor, found no explanation, and filed an official report stating the event was unexplainable. This remains one of the few paranormal cases with documented police testimony.

The Voices

One of the most disturbing aspects was the “Bill” voice — a deep, gravelly voice that came from Janet. Her mouth barely moved, yet the voice spoke clearly. It claimed to be a man named Bill who died in the house. Years later, a man named Bill Wilkins was confirmed to have died there, matching details the voice gave. Speech experts said Janet’s vocal cords could not physically produce that tone for long periods without damage. She suffered none.

Levitation Events

Multiple witnesses reported seeing Janet lifted off her bed, thrown across the room, or suspended in mid-air. A Daily Mirror photographer captured images of Janet airborne. Skeptics claimed she was jumping, but the photographer insisted he saw her levitate. Neighbors also witnessed her being lifted and thrown by an unseen force.

Object Movement

Throughout the two-year period, objects moved constantly. Toys flew across rooms, spoons bent, books fell off shelves, marbles shot across floors, and furniture tipped over. Investigators noted that objects moved in ways that defied normal physics, including sudden acceleration and changes in direction mid-air.

Knocking Patterns

Knocking sounds were heard throughout the home. They responded to questions, formed patterns, and came from walls, floors, and ceilings. Investigators asked how many people were in the room, and the knocks answered correctly. These knocks were loud enough to shake the house.

Investigators

The Society for Psychical Research sent Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair to investigate. They spent hundreds of hours in the home documenting voices, levitations, object movement, temperature drops, knocking patterns, and Janet’s trances. Grosse stated he had never seen anything like it. Playfair later wrote a book calling it one of the most extraordinary cases in psychical research.

Janet’s Trances

Janet often entered trances where her eyes rolled back, her voice changed, and she seemed unaware of her surroundings. She answered questions she shouldn’t have known the answers to. Doctors examined her and found no neurological or psychological disorder that could explain her behavior.

Skepticism

Some skeptics claimed the girls faked certain events. Even Janet admitted years later that a few incidents were staged, mostly out of boredom or to test investigators. But even skeptics agree that many events were impossible for children to fake. The police chair movement, the knocking patterns, the voice, and the levitations remain unexplained.

The End of the Case

By 1979, the activity slowed. Janet was evaluated at a psychiatric hospital, but no abnormalities were found. The family eventually moved. Janet later said, “It wasn’t all fake. Some of it was real. I couldn’t control it.” She never sought fame or money from the case.

Why This Case Still Matters

The Enfield Poltergeist remains one of the most documented paranormal cases in history. It involved police officers, journalists, photographers, neighbors, and investigators who all witnessed events firsthand. With over 1,500 logged incidents, it stands as one of the strongest multi-witness cases ever recorded.

Feral Humans in Appalachia?

2026-09-22T12:08:25.178-05:00

Feral Humans in Appalachia?

People online keep talking about “feral humans” living deep in the Appalachian Mountains. I've seen the stories, videos, and posts just like everyone else. According to some versions, these are primitive, almost animal-like people living hidden in the mountains, sometimes in caves or abandoned mines, stalking hikers and surviving completely outside normal society.

I've spent most of my life roaming these mountains. I've encountered and investigated some genuinely strange things over the years—Bigfoot sightings, ghost activity, unusual structures, and I even saw a large black cat with a long tail. So I'm certainly not somebody who believes there are no mysteries left in these mountains.

But the whole “feral human” thing? I just don't see it as viable.

Now, could someone live deep in the mountains away from society? Absolutely. People live off-grid. Some people are extremely private. There have always been hermits, survivalists, and people who simply want to be left alone.

But that's very different from the stories circulating online about hidden populations of primitive, animal-like humans living generation after generation in the Appalachian wilderness.

These mountains can also be extremely unforgiving. Every year, even prepared hikers with gear and experience can get lost, injured, or require rescue—and tragically, some never make it back home.

Appalachia has always been a place filled with folklore, strange encounters, and stories passed from one generation to another. Today, social media can take an unusual encounter or creepy story and turn it into an entire mythology almost overnight.

Someone encountering a strange person in the woods? I can believe that.

Someone secretly living off-grid in an isolated hollow? Certainly possible.

An unknown population of “feral humans” roaming the Appalachian Mountains, hunting people?

That's where I have a hard time believing the stories.

There are enough REAL mysteries in these mountains to keep us busy—Bigfoot, ghosts, unexplained sounds, strange lights, unusual stone structures, and generations of Appalachian folklore.

What do you think?

What is eDNA? The Simple Explanation Everyone Needs

2026-09-20T17:19:02.669-05:00

What is eDNA? The Simple Explanation Everyone Needs

You’ve probably seen the term eDNA popping up in news stories about rediscovered animals… but most people don’t actually know what it means.

Here’s the simple version:

⭐ eDNA = Environmental DNA

Every living thing - animals, insects, even microbes - constantly sheds tiny bits of DNA into the environment.

That DNA ends up in:

• dirt

• water

• snow

• sand

• leaves

• even the air

Scientists can collect a sample of the environment (like a scoop of soil or a bottle of creek water), run it through a lab, and detect what species have been there recently.

No tracks needed.

No photos needed.

No body needed.

Just the DNA they leave behind.

⭐ How eDNA Works

An animal walks through an area.

It sheds skin cells, hair, saliva, or waste.

Those microscopic traces fall into the environment.

Scientists collect a sample (water, soil, etc.).

They run it through a machine that reads the DNA.

The machine compares it to known species.

If something doesn’t match anything known, it gets flagged as “unknown.”

That’s how scientists recently rediscovered animals missing for 60, 80, or even 100+ years.

⭐ Why eDNA Is a Game‑Changer

eDNA has already been used to:

• rediscover De Winton’s golden mole (missing since 1936)

• confirm rare fish species still exist

• detect endangered animals in places no one expected

• track wolves, bears, and mountain lions without ever seeing them

It’s the most powerful wildlife detection tool we’ve ever had.

⭐ And here’s the big question…

If eDNA can find animals thought extinct for a century…

If it can detect species hiding underground or deep in forests…

If it can identify creatures without ever seeing them…

Could eDNA one day confirm something like Bigfoot?

The technology is already being used in some areas, and the results are interesting.

What do YOU think?

Is eDNA the future of cryptid research?

Loretta Lynn’s Haunted & UFO Experiences

2026-09-19T14:12:05.739-05:00

Loretta Lynn’s Haunted & UFO Experiences

Loretta Lynn, born in Butcher Hollow, Kentucky, spent her whole life talking about ghosts, strange lights, and unexplained mountain activity. Growing up in the Appalachian hills, she said the nights were full of stories… and sometimes, the stories came to life.

Her childhood home sat in a hollow where the mountains pressed close, and folks believed the land itself held memories. Loretta claimed spirits moved things in the house, touched her, and made noises when no one else was around. Doors would creak open, objects shifted, and she’d hear footsteps walking across empty rooms. To her, these weren’t “ghost stories”; they were part of everyday life in the hills.

Later in life, she talked about seeing bright lights in the sky that shifted, hovered, and moved in ways no aircraft could. They weren’t planes, weren’t helicopters, and weren’t anything that made sense. People in Eastern Kentucky had been seeing those same lights for generations: glowing orbs drifting over ridgelines, flashes that vanished without a sound, and silent objects that hovered like they were watching.

Loretta always said the mountains held secrets, old ones, powerful ones, and that some people were simply “born close enough to see them.” In places like Butcher Hollow, the supernatural wasn’t entertainment. It wasn’t a hobby. It wasn’t a trend. It was woven into the land, into the stories, into the lives of the people who grew up there.

In Appalachia, the supernatural isn’t a campfire tale.

It’s part of the land.

Part of the culture.

Part of the history.

Do you think the mountains hold more than we know?

A Giant Millipede Thought Extinct Since 1897… Found Alive!

2026-09-17T16:05:16.563-05:00

A Giant Millipede Thought Extinct Since 1897… Found Alive!

Scientists on a 2023–2024 expedition in Madagascar just rediscovered a creature no one had seen since 1897: the Giant Millipede Spirostreptus sculptus.

This massive, armored millipede can reach nearly 10 inches long, with a dark, plated body built for burrowing deep into the forest floor. For 127 years, it vanished from science. No sightings. No specimens. Nothing but old records and speculation.

Researchers found it during a massive biodiversity survey in one of Madagascar’s remote rainforests — the kind of place where sunlight barely reaches the ground, and the soil is thick with centuries of decay. They weren’t even specifically looking for it. The team was cataloging insects, spiders, and other invertebrates when they uncovered a creature believed to be “lost” for over a century.

The rediscovery shocked biologists. A species this large, this distinctive, and this ancient managed to hide in one of the most studied ecosystems on Earth. It survived quietly, unnoticed, in pockets of forest so dense and untouched that even modern expeditions rarely reach them.

Finds like this remind scientists, and the rest of us, that the world is still full of mysteries. If something this big can disappear for 127 years…

imagine what else is out there, still hiding in the dark, waiting to be found.

Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Ghost Stories

2026-09-16T16:39:17.423-05:00

Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Ghost Stories

Dolly Parton grew up in the Smoky Mountains, and she’s always said those hills were full of spirits, strange happenings, and things you couldn’t explain.

Her childhood home sat deep in the mountains, surrounded by old stories passed down through generations: tales of shadows moving on their own, voices in empty rooms, and lights drifting through the trees at night.

Dolly talked about hearing footsteps when no one was there, seeing figures out of the corner of her eye, and feeling the presence of something watching from the woods. She said the Smokies were alive with stories… and sometimes the stories stepped right into real life.

Neighbors in those days told the same kinds of tales; ghostly figures drifting along ridgelines, strange lights hovering over the valleys, and whispers that carried through the trees long after dark. In the Smokies, people didn’t question the supernatural. They accepted it the way you accept the weather: part of the land, part of the life, part of the mountains themselves.

In Appalachia, the supernatural isn’t a campfire tale.

It’s part of growing up.

Part of the culture.

Part of the land.

Ever heard ghost stories from the Smokies?

The Oldest Bigfoot Reports Go WAY Back

2026-09-13T20:48:43.966-05:00

The Oldest Bigfoot Reports Go WAY Back

Most people think Bigfoot sightings started in the 1950s… but the truth goes much deeper.

Long before the Patterson–Gimlin film, long before the word “Bigfoot” existed, Native American tribes across North America were describing large, hair‑covered beings living in the deep forests and mountains.

Different tribes had different names:

• Sasq’ets (Coast Salish)

• Ts’emekwes (Lummi)

• Choanito (Yakima)

• Stone Giants (Iroquois)

• Skookum (Chinook)

These weren’t campfire stories; they were treated as real animals, real beings, and sometimes even real neighbors.

Some tribes described them as:

• shy forest guardians

• dangerous giants

• watchers of the mountains

• or simply another creature sharing the land

The deeper you go into the old stories, the more you realize something important:

People have been seeing “Bigfoot” long before the modern world gave it a name.

Do you think these ancient stories were describing the same creature people report today?

George Knapp: The Journalist Who Dragged UFOs Into the Mainstream

2026-09-11T12:24:31.718-05:00

George Knapp: The Journalist Who Dragged UFOs Into the Mainstream

When people talk about UFO disclosure, whistleblowers, or the modern wave of UAP reporting, one name always comes up: George Knapp.

For more than 30 years, Knapp has been one of the few journalists willing to dig into the UFO subject with real investigative muscle, long before it was “safe” or mainstream.

Knapp didn’t just report on UFOs…

He changed the landscape of how the media covers them.

The Lazar Connection

Knapp was the reporter who first brought Bob Lazar’s claims to the world in 1989.

He didn’t just run the story; he spent years verifying details, interviewing witnesses, and digging into government records. Whether people believe Lazar or not, Knapp’s coverage turned Area 51 from a rumor into a household name.

Skinwalker Ranch

Knapp was also one of the first journalists allowed inside Skinwalker Ranch, documenting strange activity, interviewing scientists, and co‑authoring the book Hunt for the Skinwalker.

His reporting helped turn the ranch into one of the most studied paranormal hotspots on the planet.

Award‑Winning Investigations

Unlike many UFO personalities, Knapp is a legitimate investigative journalist with:

• multiple Peabody Awards

• multiple Edward R. Murrow Awards

• decades of mainstream reporting experience

He brought credibility to a topic that was often dismissed or ridiculed.

The Bridge Between Whistleblowers and the Public

Knapp has interviewed:

• military pilots

• intelligence officers

• scientists

• government insiders

• and witnesses who stayed silent for decades

He’s one of the few reporters trusted by people who claim to have seen things they can’t explain, and one of the few willing to put those stories on the record.

A Legacy of Asking the Hard Questions

Whether you agree with every case he’s covered or not, George Knapp has done something few journalists ever dared to do:

He treated the UFO phenomenon as a real mystery worth investigating, not a joke.

And because of that, the entire conversation around UFOs changed.

What’s your favorite George Knapp investigation - Lazar, Skinwalker, or something else?

The Most Overlooked Bigfoot Evidence: The Sound Reports

2026-09-06T12:48:10.795-05:00

The Most Overlooked Bigfoot Evidence: The Sound Reports

Everyone talks about footprints and blurry photos…

But some of the most compelling Bigfoot evidence comes from sound.

Witnesses across North America report:

• long, echoing howls

• deep chest‑rattling roars

• wood knocks

• whoops

• and strange whistles

Many of these sounds don’t match known animals, and some recordings have been analyzed by audio experts who say the vocal range is beyond human capability.

The famous Sierra Sounds recordings, for example, show:

• vocal cords longer than a human’s

• pitch changes we can’t physically produce

• and communication patterns that look like language

Even hunters, rangers, and biologists have reported hearing things they can’t explain.

If Bigfoot is real, sound might be the best evidence we ever get — because a creature that avoids cameras might still give itself away with a single call in the night.

Have you ever heard something in the woods you couldn’t explain?

Thanks

The Bob Lazar Mystery: 35 Years Later

2026-09-05T16:34:23.726-05:00

The Bob Lazar Mystery: 35 Years Later

It’s been more than 35 years since Bob Lazar first claimed he worked on recovered craft at a facility called S‑4.

And here’s the strange part:

His story hasn’t faded; it’s grown.

Lazar described:

• a gravity‑based propulsion system

• a craft that could distort space‑time

• nine different discs stored in underground hangars

• and security protocols that matched later whistleblower accounts

Even more interesting?

Some of the things he talked about in the late ’80s, like Element 115, didn’t exist publicly at the time, but were later confirmed to be real.

People still debate his credibility, but the impact is undeniable.

Lazar’s claims helped push UFOs from fringe curiosity to mainstream discussion.

What part of Lazar’s story stands out the most to you?

Something Strange in the Sky – April 26th, 2026

Something Strange in the Sky – April 26th, 2026

On a Sunday night, between 9:30 and 9:45 PM, I saw something in the sky that didn’t match anything I’m familiar with. I asked around to see if anyone else noticed bright lights or odd movement during that time, but so far I haven’t heard from anyone locally who was outside. I did hear from two other witnesses in Harlan County who saw something very similar about an hour before I filmed it that night.

The object wasn’t there the next night, and I’ve now had time to go through all the videos I recorded. After reviewing the footage, I put together a short clip that shows the object as clearly as possible. I also pulled the above still frame from one of the videos. Sometimes cameras create patterns when filming extremely bright objects, but was this thing bright enough to trigger that effect? And it wasn’t behaving like a plane or drone. I own drones for making my films, and this was not a drone.

It was low, silent, moving, dimming at times, and eventually drifted away slowly until it disappeared behind the trees. It made absolutely no sound.

This sighting was filmed on April 26th, 2026, and the short video is now ready. I hope I can provide more updates in the future.

Here is the video

Bob Lazar: The Man Who Changed UFO History

2026-09-03T06:24:26.490-05:00

Bob Lazar: The Man Who Changed UFO History

Whether you believe him or not, Bob Lazar is one of the most influential figures in modern UFO history.

In 1989, he stepped forward, claiming he worked at a site called S‑4, near Area 51, where he said he helped reverse‑engineer non‑human technology.

According to Lazar, the craft he saw didn’t fly like anything we know; it bent space, used gravity as a propulsion system, and operated on an element that wasn’t even officially recognized at the time.

His story sparked:

• decades of documentaries

• countless interviews

• renewed interest in Area 51

• and a massive shift in how the public views UFO secrecy

Whether he was a whistleblower, a visionary, or something else entirely, one thing is certain:

Bob Lazar changed the conversation forever.

Do you think Lazar told the truth… or is his story something else?
