Are the Crystals Calling Us?

"I've got to have that crystal, it just calls me!" Crazy as it may sound, it happened to me, repeatedly.

In my first story, I've told you all about how I got into crystals. Fast forward to more than a year since that incident, I'm still here, crazy about crystals and loving every minute of it.

If you're reading this, and chances are you're a fellow crystal collector (read: addict. haha) like me. You go to a physical store telling yourself to buy just that black tourmaline because you badly need protection but ended up buying citrine, red garnet, rose quartz... You know how it goes, right?

I still remember the first time I went to the house of Ate Bel, owner of the page Inner Healing and Peace. I went there to attend a workshop and get the crystals I've reserved but ended up going home with a ametrine quartz and raw ammonite among others.

But the craziest "call" I've got was with a Ganesh clear quartz statue. I've reserved it online but I did not bought it yet at first because my crystal fund for that month was depleted (Yes, I do have a crystal fund). Next time I went to Ate Bel's house, I decided to leave Ganesh again but I literally cannot get up my sit and go! Long story short, Ganesh went home with me.

Is it real?

That's the question, is it not? Are our so called callings real or just a way for us to justify buying more crystals? After all, if we put it that way, who are we to not buy these beautiful crystals? Most crystal lovers tell me that we are attracted to crystals with metaphysical properties that we need.

For example, I once bought a relatively expensive crystal because I want to attract a better career for myself. My psychic friends even told me that I have no passion for what I was doing that time. But fast forward a couple of months, I have a new job. A job where I can do what I love best, which is to write.

My takeaway?

It all depends on us. Are we going to be lured by the calls we sense from the crystals or will we just put it as our subconscious wanting the crystals so much that it feels like its calling us?

The Awareness

I can't believe I've been into crystals more than a year ago. Who would have thought that in this logical, realistic and scientific person lies a believer? I know, too many adjectives. The writer in me is cringing but hold on, my journey might resonate in you and all these adjectives will be worth it.

So let's start at the beginning which I called The Awareness period.

December, 2014

Exchange Gift. My monita wanted a jade crystal so I searched far and wide the Internet for cheap crystals locally. But instead of just buying for her, I ended up buying for myself too. These are my first purchase:

Rose Quartz

Green Aventurine

Rose Quart. double terminated pendant. I think most of us crystal lovers started with this love crystal.

White Moonstone. 10mm bracelet. I have a hormonal imbalance and through countless websites and inquiries to crystal sellers found out that this is ideal for me to use.

I think these are a lot for a first timer especially since I have no idea how to use these crystals. For the longest time I just hoard crystals that "calls me", as we crystal lovers would like to call.

So this is the first step of my journey. It's like finding a river and testing the water, not yet plunging into the deep end but enjoying the sensation of water swirling on my feet. It's quite a sensation I tell you. One that keeps me from buying more crystals, and wanting to learn what is beyond owning these beautiful rocks.
