Episode 29: Cutthroat Caverns Detailed Review and Interview, Adepticon 2009

Episode 29 is massive. We just had so much to squeeze in. But if it helps, think of it this way.: The D6 Generation is not a 4 hour show released every two weeks. Itâs really just a two hour weekly show released bi-weekly. :-)

In this episode we interview Curt Covert, the man behind Smirk and Dagger games and creator of Cutthroat caverns. Curt gives us a lot of great insight into what it takes to start a game company and some of the pitfalls one should try and avoid. Later in the show we dive into the details of Cutthroat Caverns and give an in depth review of the game.

We just had so much to squeeze in. But if it helps, think of it this way.: The D6 Generation is not a 4 hour show released every two weeks. Itâs really just a two hour weekly show released bi-weekly. :-) In this episode we interview Curt Covert, the man behind Smirk and Dagger games and creator of Cutthroat caverns. Curt gives us a lot of great insight into what it takes to start a game company and some of the pitfalls one should try and avoid. Later in the show we dive into the details of Cutthroat Caverns and give an in depth review of the game. All that and our usual 'not too horrible' humor, with features such as: - Achievements In Gaming with Adepticon Report - Rapid Fire - The Hollywood Minute - When Wives Attack - The Score - & More If you'd like to discuss the show with us and others in our forum thread: click here.
D6G Alert: SNAFU in Episode 27

Howdy D6G Fans,

We had a bit of a SNAFU in Episode 27 and originally forgot to include the interview with Norbert in the show! Very sorry about that Norbert.

We've corrected this issue and uploaded a corrected version of Episode 27. The new version was published late on March 20th, 2009.

If you downloaded episode 27 on 3/21/2009 or later, you've got the corrected version of the epsiode.

If you downloaded the show on 3/20 or earlier, simply re-download the episode. The correct Episode 27 should be just over 87 meg in size, and have a running time of 3:07. The interview with Norbert starts just after the 54 minute mark.

One other note: In Episode 27 we state that Warmachine Prime Remix was published in early 2008. This is incorrect. Remix was actually published in early 2007.

Sorry about all that folks.

Thanks for listening,

In episode 27 we interview Dr. Norbert Brunhuber, Warmachine tourney veteran, and get his thoughts on charity gaming. Specifically the Foodmachine drives.

Craig is out of town, and we've got crazy holiday and vacation stuff going on all around us, so Episode 23 had to be delayed.

But, we didn't want you to start off the New Year with out at least SOME D6G to listen to, so here's a bonus episode.

This doesn't have all the usual segments of a regualar episode, but we did manage to slip in a little bit of content:

Raef & Russ 'a Ramblin:

- Gamer Tech

- Russ vs the Cable company

- Raef's vid game woes

- How NOT to teach a board game

When Wives Attack

- Nicole and Karen dive into the WWA mail bag and answer some of those tough questions listeners have been sending in.

Episode 23 will be posted in two weeks. Keep an eye for shout out auctions on Ebay the Monday after this posts. Thanks for listening!

D6G Episode 14: Gen Con 08 in Detail, In depth interview with Matt Wilson

In Episode 14 the D6G team gets into the details of Gen
Con Indy 2008. We delve into the nature of the con with questions like
"Which vendors had the strongest presence?" and "Were certain types of
games on the rise or decline?"

But the best part of this super long episode, we think, is the
extensive (over an hour) interview with Matt Wilson, the man behind
Privateer Press. We feel this is a must listen for all gamers,
regardless of game system, as Matt goes through his history in the game
industry, and how he went from game idea to game production, and all
the bumps in the middle.

All that and our usual 'not too horrible' humor, with features such as:
- Rapid Fire
- The Hollywood Minute

D6G Episode 9: WH40k 5th Edition detailed review & Yak'n with Yakface

The D6G Warhammer 40K 5th edition mega-episode!

Preview copies of Warhammer 40,000 5th edition rule books have hit friendly local gaming stores and the D6G team managed to not only read through the book a few times but also play a couple of 5th edition games.

To help us with our detailed review special guest Jon 'Yakface' Regul joins us from www.DakkaDakka.com to help give detailed insight into the changes from 4th to 5th edition. We also get to 'Yak with Yakface' about what it's like to write a massive FAQ such as the 40k Adepticon FAQ and what is on the horizon for Dakka Dakka.

All that plus our usual dose of 'not to horrible' humor makes this our longest episode yet. So break out your paints because you'll probably finish a squad before this episode is done.
