Hi,
sorry there are no cards today - I'm feeling rather poorly and just struggling to get through as many of my orders as I can, then hoping to get back to bed... I have a sore throat and an annoying cough, I'm aching all over and I am so tired...

I think my card for yesterday was very apt... "Candle can reveal that you may be about to burn out... This definitely shows that lessons need to be learned about energy management and how to improve it."

Hopefully I'll be back in a couple of days :/

Daily Divination Cards - Monday 6th February 2012

Good morning!

We've had snow this weekend... After a really mild winter, the temperature plummeted and the snow fell, on the weekend that my daughter Katie and her friends came over from France for their Roller Derby bootcamp.

However, they didnt let it spoil their visit - they packed in a lot during their short stay! A night out in Brighton on Thursday, a tour of the Eastbourne area, an Indian take-away with the family, followed by a roller disco then a couple of hours down the local pub on Friday. Next a day in London on Saturday, including a roller derby bootcamp, then watching 2 roller derby bouts. Sunday morning they had a 'full english' breakfast in Lewes at Lucy's, before heading for the ferry back to France. Phew! It was great having a houseful of crazy people - I love it! I just wish I had a bigger home... Everyone had a great time and hope to come back in a few months. I shall certainly look forward to it :)

After a hectic, long weekend, and several very late nights (I had a great night out on Saturday with my dog-walking beach buddies, dancing the night away to a great Ska band at the Beach Tavern) I am feeling absolutely shattered, but it is 'manic monday' so there's no rest for the wicked and I'd better get on with my orders which are piling up after a weekend away from the computer...

Good morning!

Another bright, sunny, but freezing cold morning - when Maisie and I went for our walk on the beach, there were icicles on the groynes, where the sea water had frozen!

All behind and very tired this morning - as the 'Derby Girls' arrived rather later than expected... about 1am!

When 'PsychoKat' (my daughter Katie), 'Nutty Skull' and 'Dirty Century' arrived - Maisie was very wary, growling and not very friendly - the roller derby girls can be a bit intimidating :P

However, I gave them some treats to give to Maisie and now they are all BFFs! She'll have another new friend this afternoon when 'Maudite Chessnut' arrives!

Katie wants me to go roller skating with them this evening, but as I have not worn a pair of skates for at least 20 years and was never very steady on my wheels anyway - and would prefer not to break a hip - I've decided that it's probably safer for me to just watch ;)

Good morning!

BRRR! It is absolutely freezing!

Another busy day ahead - emails to read, queries to answer, orders to make and then housework to do!

My daughter Katie is arriving from France with 3 of her Roller Derby team members this evening. It's a flying visit, they are only staying until Sunday morning and will have to sleep on the floor in the living room, as my bungalow is not very big and with Tom and Sophie living here, we have a full house already! Should be fun!

Katie is the founder/president and head coach of the Nantes Derby Girls and while they're over here they will be packing in as much skating time as they can, with visits to Roller Derby Teams in Brighton, London and Eastbourne. Roller Derby is really starting to take off in Europe now :)

On with the cards and affirmations for Thursday - then I must take Maisie out! (I've been online replying to messages and emails since I woke up.... I've been doing things all back-to-front today..)

Good morning!

It's February already! Did January seem to fly by? Or is it just me...

Amazingly, my 4 New Year resolutions are still going strong!

I went to my Slimming World group last night and I've lost another 2lbs, so was delighted with that :)

I vowed to go to the cinema as often as possible (I got myself an Unlimited card for Cineworld) and saw 4 films in January - Sherlock, Warhorse, Haywire and last night I saw Underworld Awakening in 3D... I would have preferred it in 2D...

I also resolved to 'get out more' which I have done, trying not to turn down any invitations, where possible...

And I have stayed away from online dating sites for a month! This is the tricky one - as I do despair of ever meeting my 'soul mate' - because I never seem to go anywhere where I am likely to meet the man of my dreams... and sometimes online dating seems to be the only option... but I am hanging in there and not succumbed to temptation yet - despite every other advert on TV trying to entice me to join one of these dating sites!

Good morning!

Brrrr - it's cold! And it tried to snow earlier, when I was walking Maisie on the beach. Funnily enough she didn't go in for a swim this morning...

It's weighing-in day at my Slimming World group today... hopefully I have lost a pound or so, despite the alcohol consumed this past week, as I attended 3 different 'social' occasions. However, I resisted eating lots of yummy stuff - including the peanuts, crisps and great slabs of chocolate cake that were on offer! (I did succumb to a small slice of Lucy's homemade chocolate cake on Sunday, but just the one...)

I need to go and make myself a hot drink, then get on with some work, so here are your cards and affirmations for Tuesday!

Good morning!

I hope you had a good weekend? Mine flew by, as usual!

On Friday I had to take Maisie to the vet, because she's been losing her fur on her sides. We have a lot of foxes around here and I often see them in our garden, so I was worried she had caught something from them. Luckily that is not the case.

She either has developed an allergy or reaction to her food, or she has 'seasonal flank alopecia' - which seems the most likely cause. Such a shame as she has always had lots of comments about her lovely glossy coat. There's not a lot we can do about it unfortunately, but apart from that (and a little excess weight) she appears to be in good health :)

Here are a couple of photos of her on the beach. Barking at me, telling me to stop taking photos and to throw her ball! Which she usually immediately picks up and then runs into the sea! I get through a lot of towels...

On Sunday I went over to my daughter Lucy's home, with my Mum and Dad, and we all had a lovely afternoon with my grandaughter, Gabriella. I know I am biased, but she is so adorable! A cheeky little monkey and an absolute tonic :)

They are are a bit blurry and you can't see the bubbles, but here is a slideshow of some photos we took while I was blowing bubbles for her - she found it hilarious and her giggles are so infectious... Bless her :)

Well, I am running a bit a late (seem to do that a lot lately) so I had better get on with the cards and messages for Monday and then get on with my work and making today's orders!

Good morning!

What a beautiful day it is here, in Pevensey Bay, on the sunny south coast of England! When the sun shines it makes such a difference to how you feel, doesn't it?

Using my new iphone, I took some photos of Maisie having a swim in the sea this morning, which I was hoping to share with you - however, after trying for over half an hour to figure out how to get the photos from my phone on to my computer, I've had to give up! I shall have to ask my son to show me how to do it tonight. I still need lessons in how to use my iphone...

Good morning!

I had a busy day yesterday, multi-tasking - making my Ebay and Amazon orders, while also making some of my 'infamous' Chocolate Couscous Cake and Couscous 'Quiche', to take to my Slimming World group. I was nervous that no one would like it, as it can be a bit of an acquired taste - like 'marmite' you either love it or hate it... Luckily it appears that most people quite liked it - especially the chocolate one - and took the recipe home with them :)

One of my New Year resolutions was to lose 50lbs before Christmas 2012. I lost another pound this week, so that's 4.5 lbs off since the new year. I'm back on track after the Christmas 'diet holiday' and feeling very determined and motivated. I'm going to do it slowly and steadily and this IS going to be the year I reach my target weight!

If you are also trying to lose weight, I can heartily recommend Slimming World. You can do it online - but the best way is to join a local group, the support and encouragement, and hearing about other peoples' struggles and more importantly, their perseverance and amazing successes is a great motivator! Good luck!

Good morning!

Why do the weekends pass by so quickly? I had a good one, hope you did too?

I went to see War Horse on Friday afternoon and it was a wonderful film - very moving, and I got very emotional. (Very difficult to watch in places - how they filmed some of it, I really don't know.) I can heartily recommend it, but don't forget to take some tissues...

On Saturday I saw Haywire with my daughter Lucy - she had a couple of hours 'off', while Gabriella was having fun at my house, being looked after by her Dad, Uncle, Auntie and Great Grandparents.

This was a very different film! Full on action and lots of well choreographed fight scenes. I'm a peace-loving vegetarian, but I really enjoy watching a good on-screen fight!

After the film we grabbed some pizzas in Asda then went home and had a lovely family evening. (Not good for my diet my diet though...)

It's Manic Monday - so I had better make a start on my orders, but first here are your cards and messages for Monday!

It's Friday again, already!

As sales have been a bit slow this week and I've been able to keep on top of my orders, I'm taking the afternoon off to go to the cinema. Now that I have my Cineworld Unlimited Card, I intend to go to the cinema as often as possible!

I'm going to see War Horse amd I'm going armed with a box of tissues! I am sure I'll be a blubbering wreck by the end of the movie, but I shall tuck myself away in a corner at the back if I can and try not to sob out loud.

Tomorrow afternoon I am going to the cinema again - with my daughter Lucy - we're going to watch Haywire (she chickened out of seeing War Horse). There are several other films on at the moment that I'd like to see, including The Artist and The Iron Lady I shall see if I can free up some time next week...

Good morning!

Another gorgeous sunny day - but very cold and windy! Didn't stop Maisie going in for a swim though... brrr!

I hope you had a good weekend? I had a proper 'chill out' day on Saturday - in other words, I was very lazy and didn't do a thing :)

However, I made up for it yesterday, ticking a lot of 'things to do in January' off my list - including putting loads of boxes up in the attic, which meant I was up and down a ladder most of the the day. I'm paying for it today, with aching muscles... I live in a bungalow so I'm not used to using stairs often, let alone climbing ladders!

I felt very pleased with myself and what I managed to get done, so it was worth it and I rewarded myself with an evening of great Sunday night TV! Got to Dance, Dancing on Ice, and Sherlock! All excellent! Can't believe there'll be no more Sherlock until 2013 though :(

Well, I have a proper Manic Monday ahead of me, so I'd better get on with the cards and messages for today!

Good morning!

We've been lucky so far this winter as it's been so mild, but it's a lot colder today and a cold snap is forecast for the next few days - typical, as my boiler as just broken and I have no central heating! Hopefully it will be fixed by tomorrow... everything crossed... In the meantime I'm wearing lots of extra layers and if it gets very cold I shall have to type with my fingerless gloves on :)

This robs you of peace and perpetuates the false notion that others victimize you. The Spirit, in contrast, understands that human beings are emotional and reactionary and do things without realizing their impact on others. Therefore, it takes offense at no one, knowing that nothing another does is truly personal. The question the Spirit asks instead is: Why is this occurring? Why am I attracting this experience? What can I learn from this?
Observe how your ego is victimizing you. Notice where you’re personally affronted by someone else's behaviour. In what way are you internalising the actions of another to be a reflection of you? Mostly, notice grudges you hold or any wounds you’re nursing from the past. Are they robbing you of peace in the moment?

Most of what your ego is offended by is small and meaningless anyway. Besides, no one can slight the Spirit in you. You’re a Divine and holy child of God, regardless of the behaviour of others. Good morning!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing. It's going to be a good day!

Maisie and I had a lovely walk on the beach this morning - we met several friends en route and Maisie had a run around with lots of her doggy pals, including her special 'boyfriend' Sam, who she hadn't seen for ages - and there was no convoy of noisy trucks and diggers to spoil it :)

Last night I went to my Slimming World group and I've lost 2 1/2lbs of the 5lbs put on over Christmas, so that's a good start. I'm feeling very positive, motivated and determined to lose the weight this year and if you're in a similar position, I can't recommend Slimming World highly enough!

Greetings!

Every morning I take Maisie for a walk along the beach. I am a little reluctant sometimes, especially if it's cold, wet and windy, but no matter what the weather, once I get out there I really enjoy it. Being Cancerian of course I love being near the water and I'm always mesmerised looking out to sea, watching the waves, breathing in the sea air... I love it!

Not today though :(

Where Maisie and I usually go there was a convoy of huge trucks, a digger and a 'plough'. The plough was going up and down, pushing the shingle up the beach and the digger was loading the shingle on to the trucks, to be taken further along the coast. Noisy, huge trucks, taking away our beach! Not to mention ruining the tranquility and what is usually a nice peaceful way to start my day! GRRR!

Tuesday is my weekly weigh-in at my local Slimming World group. I am hoping to have lost some of the 5lbs I put on over Christmas - I've been really good this week (I think) so finger's crossed...

Good morning!

I can't believe that the last time I wrote my blog was a month ago - on the 9th of December...

I do apologise for being away for so long. December was so busy for me, I was very lucky to have loads of orders coming in nonstop, but it meant very long, tiring days working, and very little rest or sleep - and then when the Christmas orders stopped - so did I. I was exhausted and found it difficult to get going again. As someone put it, my "get up and go got up and went!"

However, after a much-needed break (and the arrival of a new deck of Oracle cards!) I'm back!

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year? I certainly did. Good times spent with family and friends - with lots of eating, drinking and general merriment :)

Unfortunately I put on 5lbs over Christmas and New Year, but I'm back at Slimming World and very motivated to continue losing weight slowly and steadily, as I am determined to lose at least 3 stone this year! (Just one of my New Year resolutions... Have you made any?)

Well, as I mentioned, I have just got a new deck of Oracle cards - which I am going to use this week. They are called The Answer Is Simple Oracle Cards and I decided to treat myself as they were only £7.07 including postage and packaging, through Amazon.co.uk, which I thought was very good! (They are available through Amazon.com too!)

Not all Oracle card decks are suitable for doing this blog, but these look quite promising, so we'll see how they go. I think they are lovely cards, very positive and uplifting. Please feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think of them too.

Greetings!

After our morning walk in the wind and rain, I was very cold and 'bedraggled' and Maise was one soggy doggy! However, a rub down with warm towels from the airing cupboard for Maisie, followed by a delicious bowl of hot porridge for me, soon sorted us both out :)

I have 35 Ebay orders and 44 Amazon orders to make and dispatch as soon as possible... I wonder how many I can get done before I have to head off to the post office 4:45pm? Will I have more delays caused by the continuing Smartstamp fiasco and problems with online postage?

This Mercury Retro period has been very 'trying' for me and lots of small businesses - not to mention the Royal Mail...
