Last year, as a student at the University of Wisconsin, I was lucky enough to be chosen in a lottery that gave me the chance to purchase NCAA tournament basketball tickets.
My number wasn??t drawn for the chance to attend the first two rounds ?? which were played in Chicago ?? but several of my friends and I all were selected for the opportunity to purchase a pair of Sweet 16, Elite 8 and Final Four student tickets.
It was hard not to be excited about the plans ?? seven of my best friends and I were going to road-trip to St. Louis for the Midwest Regional, and if things went well in Missouri for the second-seeded Badgers, it was on to the Final Four in Atlanta. The only problem was, the tickets were only good if the Badgers advanced that far ?? and thanks to an upset win for UNLV, Wisconsin never made it out of the second round ?? and I never made it out of Madison, Wis.

The Dakota Wesleyan baseball team was one out away from a sweep of Doane College in a doubleheader Friday in Crete, Neb. But with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Doane rightfielder Dean Henson singled in two runs with a ball down the leftfield line and take a 6-5 win, spoiling the party for the Tigers.
??It puts a big downer on,?? DWU head coach Adam Neisius said. ??The second one is always the one you remember.??
Still, despite the ending for DWU, it wasn??t a total downer for the Tigers, who dominated the opener, a 19-4 win.
DWU erupted for five runs in the first two innings to take a commanding early lead. The Tigers scored three times in the first inning in a rally that started completely after there were two outs.

No. 2-seeded Duke actually trailed in the final 15 seconds before barely avoiding the monumental upset, using every last one of Gerald Henderson??s 21 points to edge No. 15 Belmont 71-70 in the first round of the West Regional on Thursday night.
