Dear September, Next Year Remember

2010-09-02T06:28:00.000-05:00

Dear September,

Next year, please remember to have something exciting going on!!! All you do in September is try out for exciting things (like the comp. team, and the school musical) at the beginning of the month. The bad part is you don't learn anything until the end of the month!!! So in the middle, I have absolutly nothing to do!!! = (

Peyton

My Nutcracker Role

2010-08-31T20:02:00.001-05:00

Hey, dancer!!! I didn't get the part of Clara, but I don't care!!! I GOT THE ROLE OF THE RAT KING!!!!! If ya'll don't know what the Rat King is, it's the person who battles the Nutcracker, and eventually dies from the epic battle (but I don't care!!! I'm the person everybody will remember, the villian!!!)

I'm pretty sure Amanda is Clara!!! I just hope it's not somebody younger than me!!! I really hope Amanda is Clara!!! She'll make an awesome Clara!!! I'm sorry that I have a ! after the end of every sentence, I just found out my role less than an hour ago!!! Oh, and Katie (my twin) is sharing the role of the Spanish Princess with some-body else!!

I would like to thank God, my Father, my daddy & mommy, Grandma & Grandpa, Nannie & Poppy, Solara, Katie, Amanda, Alli-Kate, Cat, and many unmentioned friends and relatives!!! (don't wanna leave anybody out!!!)

Umarmungen und Küsse,

The Rat King

The Auditions

2010-08-28T15:59:00.005-05:00

Today was the big dance auditions!!! Our judges were:

Mrs. York. She's a second grade teacher at Maplecrest (where my mom works as a volunteer). Former S.P.A. dancer.
Rebekka (I think that's her name . . .) Former S.P.A. Compitition dancer
Miss Sara. You'll know her by my blog posts.
Miss (almost Mrs.) Cory. Former dancer and coregrapher. Coregraped my first solo. Student teacher for Mrs. York.
Mrs. Roderick. S.P.A.'s director
Mrs. Denette. S.P..'s founder, co-directors with Mrs. Roderick, her mother

I was number 10! I danced with Katie (my twin), Kiana H., Alli Kate A., Cat K.and maybe some other girl started out with the lyrical. Then the tap. We learned a surprise jazz song on the spot, called Jail House Rock. I'm pretty sure I nailed my triple pirouettes!!!

For Dancer's Chioce, I did jet`es across the floor. That was where my stretching CD came to help me!!! I was so high in the air and I was doing the splits in the air, and (get this!) I pointed my toes!!! I am soo proud of me today!!!

Please pray that I get Clara!!! It's really between me, Katie, and Amanda, because this is our last year to be her. [Cat's not allowed to be Clara :(]

Auditions This Saturday

2010-08-26T20:37:00.000-05:00

Hello, fellow dancers! This Saturday (two more days!!!), is going to be auditons for my dance compitition team!!! We learned a beautiful lyrical, and a tap song! I'm not worried about the tap song because I learned it at tap camp!

I'm extremly nervous, because the auditions are not just for Clara, they're also for to see who gets the part of Clara!!! I have to improve my turns by a MILE for the lyrical song, or else I won't get Clara in the nutcracker!!! :(

Anyways, back to happiness!! My solo song this year will be Dimples! It's going to be a musical theatre-tap, my two best dancing types! It's sooo cute!!! I am doing a duet with my 9th grade friend, Amanda C. We are doing a musical theatre, to. . . . well, we don't know what song yet . . .

P-L-E-A-S-E WISH ME AND CAT LUCK!!!!

P.S. Remeber Cat? Me and her are the only ones in our grade who haven't been clara yet!! Last year, two girls played Clara, so I'm hoping me and Cat will both get to play Clara, since we are both equally good!!!

Küsse,

PeyPey

Dance Privates W/ Miss Sara

2010-08-18T19:08:00.000-05:00

Clara In The Nutcraker with the Nutcracker(, turned back into a man)

Hey, dancer! I just got back from my Dance Privates with Miss Sara! Dance Privates (aka, Privates) are what we call our solo and duo/trio dance practices with the choreographer! Anyways, Miss Sara told me she could tell I've been stretching, because my jet`es were MUCH, much higher, and almost the splits!! My piques were SUPER fast, and my base leg was straight! I feel that I might have a chance to get the role of Clara in the Nutcracker this year!!! (I promise to explain more later, but I gotta fly!)

I guess that streching CD is working!!! Sooo happy! Also, wish me luck for this Tuesday! It's my studio's auditions for the Compitition Team!!! Can't wait!

How's your dance week going so far? wish you the best of luck at whatever you're doing!

kisses,

Peyton <3

SEASON 3 WINNER OF SYTYCD: MMMEEEEEE!!!

2010-08-17T18:32:00.002-05:00

Today I've been dancing around the house, inventing lyrical moves and practicing my turns. I'm trying to choreograph a lyrical/open to the song Addicted by Kelly Clarkson. It's going pretty well, though I've only thought of 2 eights!

The reason why I'm so into lyrical now all started at my studio's Lock-In. My studio's Lock-In is like a slumber party at the studio, but only for people on the compitition team. Anyways, one of our activities was re-creating So You Think You Can Dance. (We loved doing sytycd sooo much, we had 3 seasons!) In SYTYCD, we would pretend to be one of the people on the show! (It's wierd, because I was Lauren Froderman, and the next night she won season 7 of SYTYCD!!!)

Anyways, for season 3, me and my friend Kenz (Mackenzie R.) did a lyrical duet to Glitter In The Air by Pink! (I've loved that song ever since!) And the performence of it was A-MAZE-ING!!!!!! Me and Mackenzie got picked to be the final 2, and had to perform a solo! Mine consisted of leaps and turns. It ended up a tie, but they drew a name and it was mine! So that's how I won season 3 of So You Think You Can Dance!

How's your season of SYTYCD? Hope you win!

kisses,

Peyton <3

MISS SARA'S STRETCHING CD

2010-08-17T13:44:00.004-05:00

The picture on my iPod Touch for the Album of Miss Sara's Stretching CD!
That's Miss Sara Holding the Trophy!

Last week I got a CD from my solo choreographer, Miss Sara. She told me it was my stretching CD, and I was supposed to stretch to the hour-long CD 3 days per week! I told her I promised I would. So far, I have been stretching 30 minutes per day, instead of an hour long for three days. That makes it much easier and I have one full day off! But I think I will do an hour long for only three days now, since school is starting tomorrow (My first day at Lebanon Jr. High)!

Anyways, back to the CD! The CD has 16 songs, all of which I love! Since Miss Sara made the CD herself, I had to name the songs after I listened to them on my iPod. Here's the names I came up with (some are accurate, but some may not be):

I Wanna Know Your Name
Who Made You King (Who Died and Made You King)
Runaway
Need Me
Love is Gone
Somethin' 'Bout Love
Rolling on the River
Covergirl
Love Again
Right Now
Up and Running
So Bad
Touched
Automatic

I'll have to say my favorite song on this CD is Touched by Natasha Bedingfield! I'm gonna add a widget on the site that has a picture of her with the lyrics of Touched!

What's your favorite song on the CD?

kisses,

Peyton <3

STARTING THINGS ANEW

2010-08-17T11:39:00.001-05:00

Hello. I've been taking dance since I was three. I've been on my studio's compitition team for five years. But I've never practiced my routines any year, so I would never get better! But this year, I'm planning on taking dance more seriously! I need to practice and do my stretching CD Miss Sara made me! So, every time I come from dance, or I feel like blogging about my dance life, I'll come here!

I'm already planning my future for dancing, I'm getting more serious! When I graduate out of a dance college, i'm going to try to be an intern for the KCB (the Kansas City Ballet). Then, maybe the next year they will except me!

Anyways, welcome to my dance journal as you expirence my good times and trials. As I start anew.

Hope you stick with me until the end!

kisses,

Peyton <3
