The Order:

There comes a time in your life when a soup and salad is just what you’re craving for lunch. However, this being a food blog, we can’t just order a soup and salad. Right?! We have to make this a special soup & salad combo. So I decided to spice it up with some Greek flavor. With some super high ratings, and a location super close to Seamless HQ, I decided to order from Dafni Greek Taverna. Their one soup – Avgolemono Soup – and a classic Greek Salad with Chicken was the perfect way to satisfy my soup & salad craving.

So how did it all taste?

The Meal:

The meal arrived fairly quickly, which was a nice treat. I was super hungry and ready to dig in to my awesome lunch. When you have a hot food item being delivered, sometimes you just don’t know how the temperature will fair during travel. Luckily the Avgolemono Soup handled itself well. It came not quite piping hot, but warm enough to please my insides. The soup was a classic egg lemon soup with chicken and rice. The lemon added an awesome tart flavor with which I was pleased.

First Course: Avgolemono Soup

I took a break to head to a meeting and came back to devour my Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken. The salad was made with the classics: lettuce, tomatoes, peppers, Feta, onions, cucumbers, and dolmades (stuffed grape leaves). I added the chicken for some extra protein and let me tell you, I was happy. That Grilled Chicken piece was HUGE! It was also very tasty and spiced really nicely. The salad was crunchy, fresh, and filling. All of the ingredients were plentiful as well – I ended up picking out some of the red onion because we all know what that’ll do to your breath.

Main Course: Greek Salad with Grilled Chicken

In the end I only ate half the salad and saved the rest for lunch the next day. A pretty good deal! Oh – there was also really yummy and warm pita bread. Nothing too special about the pita bread, but I was happy it was there.

So when you want to spice up your soup and salad lunch, go Greek (or go home?).
