The Vitamins are a Denver-based band heading to SXSW today. Denver's Stuart Confer designed these posters for them by drawing the image of the girl, scanning it in, then customizing the image and type. Crawford Philleo at T&R Graphics printed them in 6 super psychedelic colors, man.

'We Live In Public' Screening Extravaganza

In partnership with the Open Media Foundation, Futuristic Films brought a truly revolutionary digital+cultural event to Denver on March 1st at Denver Open Media.

Futuristic director Ondi Timoner (2x Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner) celebrated the DVD and VOD release of her 2009 Sundance winning film "WE LIVE IN PUBLIC" by coordinating screenings of the film across the nation at different venues. After the screening, those venues went live on the web for a multi-cast Q&A with Ondi and Josh Harris (the internet pioneer who is the subject of the film) that was broadcast to the entire world via weliveinpublicthemovie.com.

The film screened simultaneously in 6 cities (LA - NYC - CHICAGO - VANCOUVER - ATLANTA - DENVER). It was followed by an interactive Q&A with hosts Adrian Grenier (HBO’s Entourage) in NYC, Ondi Timoner and Josh Harris in Chicago and Eliza Dushku (FOX’s Dollhouse) in LA.

Every city lived in public for the remainder of the evening, including Red Carpet appearances, sleeping pods, fire dancers and other eclectic performances. Denver’s event, sponsored in part by PBR, hosted live painting (Kamla Presswalla and Audrey McNamara) and some of Denver’s finest DJs and VJs; DJ Ginger Perry and VJ duet DnD (Dizy Pixl + dBom).

Find The Bacon

Based on the "Six Degrees of Separation" game, Find The Bacon is an application that lets you test your movie chops. You can start with actor Kevin Bacon (or any other actor you can think of) then follow the chain of actors and movies for as long as you like. Or pick two actors beforehand and see if you can make the connection in less than six steps.

The site was developed and designed by DATA, Inc. based in Denver, CO, as a side project for the company.

Pistachios Matching Match Game

Pistachios have created their first iPhone game called Matching Match. It's an "urgent-time, face recognition, match-style, instant imitation game for iPhone." Meaning, Skippy (the main character) makes a face and you have to match the other character's face to his. The game comes in regular or 3D-mode – for viewing with red/cyan glasses – and features the cool promo below.

Opposite and mirroring the March 15 Denver Post’s sports coverage of the first round match-ups in the NCAA “March Madness” basketball playoffs will be the un-filled-in brackets for the lesser known elimination tournament, “Bank Merger Madness 2010.” The full page ad is the newest one-off in FirstBank’s long-term “corporate independence” campaign, created by TDA Advertising & Design, Boulder.

With no copy other than the tag, “Independently owned since 1963,” the ad is meant to remind Colorado banking customers that FirstBank is not seeking to buy, or be bought by, any other bank. It will appear once, today March 15, before any games, and again on Thursday, March 18, before any of the 32 first-round games. In both cases, placement will be adjacent and across from the newspaper’s editorial NCAA bracket chart. “Bank Merger Madness” will run once as a vertical full-page, once as a horizontal half-page.

Johnny Cupcakes is Coming to Town

The Johnny Cupcakes clothing brand began modestly, when its founder started slinging wrinkled, gas-scented t-shirts out of his suitcase while on tour with his band. This April, the brand is heading back to its roots with the Johnny Cupcakes Suitcase Tour. Johnny Cupcakes himself will be driving the CupcakeMobile around the USA to peddle t-shirts out of his crusty suitcase and hang out with customers.

There will be six suitcase exclusive t-shirts and a few other specials that can only be purchased on the tour. Each stop on the tour will be hosted by various businesses that Johnny respects – including art galleries, boutiques, bakeries, toy shops, and many others. He'll be here in Denver on Tuesday, April 27th, 8:00 pm @ The Shoppe, 3103 East Colfax Avenue, Denver, CO. Get ready for a good time.
