not that i really spend that much time in a laundromat. ever. when i still had more digits in my bank account i would just buy more clothes.. quite stupid. or i'd wait till break and fly home and have my family do it for me. hahaha..so much for living on your own and pretending to be independent. i am also not quite sure why i brought my mug with me to do laundry..but at least it was nice and warm in there.
but here's to being done with the first part of midterms = let the weekend games begin.

i guess it is a bit unfair that was 26 degrees today, when my best friend is freezing his ass off in hamburg. but then again, it is also quite unfair that i had to spend the whole day stuck inside a lecture hall. whateevvvs.
i have a shit ton of midterms next week, so this weekend is going to be a tame one :)

oh hey. this is where i currently reside. i woke up this morning and felt the sudden urge to clean my room. (the living room of our apartment is another story completely) i always tell myself before moving into a new space that i want my room's interior to be simple, minimal and clean, but somehow i can't live without plastering the wall with a bunch of random stuff; ticket stubs, poems, pictures and other shit. just look at it. look at it. sometimes i think that my room has an identity crisis.
right now, i'm wearing uggs, shorts, and a flannel and i don't feel like posting anything fashion related. it's weird, lately i find the whole concept of me posting outfit pictures of just myself, just, odd. i also don't have time, i think. i got another internship which i'm excited about and will probably post about someday, plus my new job is kinda fun too. now i just need to focus on my education.

also, happy chinese new year! im a bit bummed that i don't get to spend it with my family, but a ramen party with the roomies isn't too shabby either

truth is, it's the last day of my winter break and i really don't want to go back. i love living in san francisco and being surrounded and inspired by the often times weird, sketchy, smelly yet unique characters on the street. i saw some street kids hanging on haight the other day and there's something so attractive about the idea of living with such abandon (though really what do i know about their existence? for all i know they could go home every night to their parents house in st. francis and decide not to shower as a fuck you to their parents). but i'm not complaining, at all. i think it is normal for us to seek broader horizons and more open spaces, which is probably why i was immediately attracted to this place. i remember driving past here when i worked as a golf caddie back in the day and always being curious about what it looked like from the top.

big whoop whoop to the lovely people from MTV who blogged about me here. it was quite a surreal and wtf kidn of moment, sitting at the dinner table and receiving a tweet from MTV and reading what they wrote about me. thanks so much!

starting off 2012 with a more classic approach to an old favorite. if i could, i would wear black everyday, but since it is time for new beginnings, i decided to add something white to the ensemble in the hopes of making it more 2012 and less 2011. found this amazing spot while going for a stroll in the sunshine, and it reminded me of paris. of pere lachaise to be exact.
i don't really do new years resolutions but i think a lot of exciting things are going to happen this year. it's the year where i'm turning 21(!!!!!!!! vegas!!) i hope to buy a car (donations are welcome) hope to go back and visit my friends in europe or family in china during the summer, get to vote for the first time during the 2012 elections (with the hopes that my candidate wins) (fingers crossed) and will have to push myself to work on more projects related to my major (film) and take this blog to a new level (yiihaa) wait, was that a subconscious listing of a pseudo new years resolution...? ahhh whatever, welcoming you with open arms, helllooooo 2012! and hello 900+ followers. enjoy your day.

i re-watched Winter's Bone (easily one of my favorite films) with my sister the other day and i told her that i want to dress exactly like them. apparently the 'hobo hillbilly meth head' combination, a term coined by my sister, is something i find very appealing. not sure that it has anything to do with what i'm wearing above because the dress reminds me vaguely of this sass&bide dress from 2003 or 04 but i suppose the vintage levi's would be something i could imagine one of the film characters wearing. identity crisis. but then again, finding yourself is overrated. lose yourself instead.

on a more normal note, i gotz my inner bicep tatted. holy f*ck that shit hurt. i had to squeeze my side to redirect the pain and i literally have finger print bruises because i squeezed myself that hard. afterwards, we had delicious thai food at this really cool place where you had to take off your shoes and for once in my life i was wearing matching socks. i mean, what are the odds?
after that we watched the girl with the dragon tattoo. how appropriate. david fincher did the book justice. it was great. plus now want lisbeth's shirt that says: 'fuck you you fucking fuck'. it would make my life that much easier.

secretly channeling ennis del mar everytime i wear this jacket. minus the heartbreak, the betrayal, the tradedgy. done with the quarter so i’m basking in my native glory-- friends, food, film and fashion. though i don’t experience or acknowledge many of the turning points in my life, i would like to think that a couple of things happened these past months that really have changed the way i view things, seen possibilities in my future and perhaps the way i want to live my life. could be as simple as listening to james vincent mcmorrow, straightforward as an acting class i took to something way more complex that i'm still thinking about. but maybe i was just trying to convince myself that i needed something to feel something.
anyhow, i found this skirt that i lost somewhere in my closet and that made me quite happy.
also getting another tattoo next week, possibly :)

It's official. I'm a terrible blogger. But I swear, I've been swamped with work and school and interning and sorority stuff and being nice to my friends..? But happy belated thanksgiving! There's a lot to be thankful for. Just look around. And if you fail to find anything beautiful or worth cherishing, perhaps it is time to change yourself. Or go to costco and book an appointment with an optometrist.
Plus it's getting cold. Except it never really gets cold enough.

Anyways, here are one of the pieces the lovely people behind JewelMint have sent me; the Thunderbird earrings. Absolutely adore the oxidized metallic silver with the coral red glass beads. Such a great addition to any piece in your wardrobe, especially around the holidays. Thanks so much again! Adore them. They also sent me this lovely necklace that I'll show you guys soon. (It comes in the most awesome wrapping and box, which I will show you also!)

As for the next two weeks, I'm going to have to study my ass off, because finals are right around the corner. Hello library, books and coffee and counter productive study sessions. Hopefully I get to say hi to my bed as well. Probably not. This quarter went by fast, and I've learned a lot, about people, and myself. Yet I still feel as if I'm stuck in the same place as when I started this quarter. Perhaps life is circular, instead of linear... Hmm.

I've been in love with UNIF ever since i started following christine's blog and must admit that it's one of the comfiest pieces I own. Yea-- I kind of look like a dude, but honestly I don't really care, comfort over classiness.
Life's been good actually. I know my second to last post was a bit dramatic but we all get like that sometimes. Also I want a new piercing or tattoo. I'm just bored with everything. Not sure if getting something pierced or tatted is going to change anything, but the fact that I keep checking sites like Freshtrends and clicking on their quality gold belly button rings during lecture must be sign. Or not. Maybe I should just stick to getting a manicure.

Also, very excited to announce that that lovely people behind JewelMint asked me to be part of their Blog Partnership. So stoked, I've been eyeing Kate Bosworth's montly jewelry collection for so long now and this makes me so happy. Will talk/show you guys more about this very very soon!

as for life, i am in a good place right now. life's good. i took my first midterm yesterday, joined the greek system (i know... but it's been nothing but great so far!) made myself an actual sandwich, and am happy with the people who are in my life right now.

soo i'm finally all settled in and this week has already proven itself to be pretty fun and eventful. Basically welcome week is a week where you just get to have fun-- partying with your best friends, running into people you haven't seen all summer, meeting new people, moving into a new apartment with a kitchen (!) with great roommates and biking around campus. It felt great being back at work (I'm a barista haha) and attending classes in an overpacked lecture hall. Also, one of my best friend Karen (totally check out her tumblr, wise words from a wise girl) is probably gonna be my go-to photographer on campus (oh god this sounds so, lame) so I'll actually blog and not fall into that same rut that I fell in last year. Definitely going to do things differently this year. much loveee kiddos

this probably is one of the most mundane and uninspiring outfit posts ever, but i have been so busy with packing and preparing to go back to college that i couldn’t summon the powers to wear anything interesting or even shower. the post i did last year was definitely more interesting. the only thing that could possibly justify this post is this belt that i picked up at a thriftstore a month ago. plus i must confess that i love wearing sweats...
but no worries, once i am reunited with my wardrobe combined enjoying that californian sun, all will be well.

Wore this to run some errands today, which included checking out the final sale at Borders, I can't believe they are going out of business! I remember spending my summers there with my cousins, listening to music and reading books. The other day I picked up this Elie Tahari knit jumper and it's perfect. This probably is one of my favorite "no fuss" kind of looks. I like all black. Decided against going to FNO due to some work and the protests and station closing downtown. And yay for reaching 800+ followers!

I somewhat fell in love with this silk blouse after finding it at a local thrift store, due to the delicately faded colors that compliment each other so well. Sort of laughed when the label read 'Tony Bahama', but I figured that in the worst case scenario of a wardrobe fail, I could just try to channel sgt. Angel Batista's infamous floral/hawaiian print shirts. All I need is some jose cuervo,a nice pair of suspenders and a fedora. Anyone else completely obsessed with the show Dexter?
