Its been a while since we last posted to this blog. Aaron has been doing great and is growing so big. I think our record keeping habits changed and we tend to capture more of his life and publish it on Facebook so if you are connected to us there, you will have been seeing all the photos and videos of our little guy growing up.

Bubbling baby

We had a good laugh last night with Aaron. He has started blowing raspberries and has started putting sounds together in what sound a little like words. My brother was holding him last night when he went into a bubble blowing session. He had us in hysterics even though he was clearly very serious about this whole bubble/motorbike sound/spit thing:

Starting solids (well, kinda)

We decided to start Aaron on rice cereal earlier this week. The bottles just didn’t seem to be doing it for him (well, the natural method is difficult to measure and we could see how much he was drinking from the bottles). Gina started feeding him the rice cereal on Monday and he didn’t really know what to do with it.

This morning he suddenly started opening his mouth to the spoon and, hey presto, food was going in. We gave him some cereal this evening with one of his feeds too and I got this video of Gina feeding him.

He is getting better at taking it in although he still has a way to go before he can keep it in his mouth (as opposed to his chin).

Things you learn when you have boys

I got this from Gina in an email and had to share!

A king size waterbed holds enough water to fill a 200 m2 house to a depth of 10 cm.
If you spray hair spray on dust balls and run over them with roller blades, they can ignite.
A 3-year old Boy’s voice is louder than 200 adults in a crowded restaurant.
If you hook a dog leash over a ceiling fan, the motor is not strong enough to rotate a 20 Kg boy wearing Batman underwear and a Superman cape. It is strong enough, however, if tied to a paint can, to spread paint on all four walls of a 6m x 6m room.
You should not throw cricket balls up when the ceiling fan is on. When using a ceiling fan as a bat, you have to throw the ball up a few times before you get a hit. A ceiling fan can hit a cricket ball a long way.
The glass in windows (even double-glazed) doesn’t stop a cricket ball hit by a ceiling fan.
When you hear the toilet flush and the words ‘uh oh’, it’s already too late.
Brake fluid mixed with bleach makes smoke, and lots of it.
A six-year old Boy can start a fire with a flint rock even though a 36-year old Man says they can only do it in the movies,

Marbles in petrol tanks make lots of noise when driving.
You probably DO NOT want to know what that smell is.
Always look in the oven before you turn it on; plastic toys do not like ovens.
The fire department in Brisbane, Qld, has a 5-minute response time.
The spin cycle on the washing machine does not make earthworms dizzy.
It will, however, make cats dizzy.
Cats throw up twice their body weight when dizzy.

80% of Women will pass this on to almost all of their friends, with or without kids.

80% of Men who read this will try mixing the bleach and brake fluid.

Our little charmer

We went off to a picnic today for Jared’s birthday and I shot a short video of Aaron on his quilt while Gina went for a walk. He was a little preoccupied with the phone but gave me a few smiles towards the end. I also shot a short video of Gina playing with him and he had a couple things to say to her too.
