Just because I haven’t been blogging doesn’t mean we haven’t been doing some fun things: Trike-A-Thon, Baby C coming and going, Choices Spring for Life, playgrounds, birthday parties, a trip to Nashville and a new kitten named Thatcher. Whew.

We got our first foster placement this past Friday. He is 8 weeks old and so tiny and precious. He has been eating, sleeping and pooping like a champ. He is very laid back and so far has put up with our crazy schedule – since we started T-ball season Friday night!

It’s still the honeymoon phase but so far Will and Thomas are in love with him. They play around him, try to be quieter when he is asleep and give him lots of kisses.

Another thing I love about Megan is how much she loves the Lord. Will has been working all week on his Bible verse for Cubbies and I want him to get more comfortable telling other people the verses he is learning so I asked him to tell Megan. He hesitated and she responded, “If you tell me your Bible verse, I will tell you the one I am working on right now.” Then they both said their verses. Love it.

We spent a couple of hours on Valentine’s Day at MDO for the boys to play with their friends and have a special party lunch. They both had a good time and it was fun to see them interact with their friends. Thomas’ party was earlier than Will’s so I took Thomas down to Will’s room to play. When it was time to go, Thomas was over in the corner playing trains with 3 or 4 of Will’s classmates! It reminded me of when I would get mad because Dana was playing “my friends!”

I think they both thoroughly enjoyed their parties and Valentine’s!

Will hasn’t taken a daily nap on any kind of consistent basis since he was a little over 3 years old. Some days his behavior is out of control or he was up late the night before and he will sleep but most days he doesn’t. It has been a challenge to figure out what do with him for those couple of hours that Thomas is resting and I either need to get things done around the house or rest myself.

Lately, our routine has been to put Thomas down for nap and then “do school” if we haven’t already for the day. “School” usually takes about 30 minutes (sometimes longer if we do a craft) and then Will plays in his room or watches a movie until quiet time is over.

This particular day he wanted to bring down all of his animal friends, watch Transformers and eat popcorn!

It’s fun that he gets “big kid” time while Thomas sleeps and he feels lucky to get a little extra TV!

Do your preschoolers still nap? If not, do you still have a daily rest or quiet time?

As soon as we saw the idea for a “Little Man” baby shower on Pinterest we knew that is what we wanted to do! Everything came together so perfectly. Ashlee should seriously be a party planner – she is full of great idea. The food was delicious too! We had brunch with breakfast pinwheels, quiche, yogurt parfaits, cinnamon rolls, chicken salad sandwiches (in the shape of mustaches!), fruit, veggies and cupcakes!

At the beginning of February, we had a little snow one Saturday morning. The boys were SO excited to get “bundled” up and play as the snow was falling.

This was the first snow that Thomas actually got to play in. He loved it!

Of course, Will couldn’t wait to throw snow balls.

PepperAnn loves snow too. The boys chased her all over the yard and then threw little snow balls for her to catch. It was a fun morning playing out in the snow but by the afternoon it was all gone.

Thomas is such a cute little fellow! He is full of personality these days, talks all the time, loves Cars, Bubba and “PeppaAnn.” And he is still a cuddly guy who likes to be held and love on his Mommy and Daddy. We had his 2nd birthday party at Playside, an indoor playground, and he had a blast!

Thank you everybody {I couldn’t fit everyone’s picture in this post!} for coming out and celebrating Thomas’ 2nd birthday with us!

So, what are we doing about it? And I’m not talking about just being against abortion. Or just speaking out about abortion. If we claim to value human life – that it is sacred, valuable and precious – do our actions confirm it?

I feel like it can’t be just about the unborn child – it has to span the whole life continuum. Are we willing to partner with woman who choose to parent – supporting them emotionally, physically and financially? Are we willing to adopt children whose parents choose to make an adoption plan? Are we willing to join with families who are struggling to maintain a safe home environment for their children? Are we willing to come along side those who are struggling with addiction? Those who are homeless? Those who feel like there’s not a reason to live? Are we willing to provide care for the elderly and treat them with dignity?

If we value the life of the unborn child we have to value their life outside the womb. What actions are we willing to take?
