A topic that is constantly debated between the two of us – does user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) really matter in India? Anytime this topic comes up, one website is mentioned by default – Cleartrip.com. The travel portal hands down is the best designed travel portal in India and arguably worldwide. We also talk about Tenmiles which runs HelpDesk Pilot, DoAttend and several other sites.

Skype was used for this episode and the audio levels were off. It sounds like Sahil was screaming and Manish was whispering…which oddly is the reverse of what happens in person.

In this episode we take a look at the highs and lows of hiring people in India. India maybe full of engineering talent but, it’s not that easy finding the gems. We provide several tips that can make the hiring process much more smoother and efficient. Such as, conducting pre-interviews and using an HR agency.

We would really like to hear your comments on how you find quality talent and retain them. Also, if you have any funny incidents you would like to share with us…we are all ears.

We are finally live with our first episode out the door. The first several shows will have both of us talking about business and technology from our perspective of being on the ground in India. Future shows will have guests for additional viewpoints. The best way to get the content delivered is to subscribe via iTunes.

In this episode, we discuss if people like Loren Brichter exist in India. Loren created the Tweetie app which was eventually bought by Twitter to be their official Twitter client. A great story of a guy who left Apple, had no programming experience and then went on to create a slick Twitter client.
