Over the May long weekend I was invited to take part in The Toronto International Circus Festival for Harbourkids at the Toronto Harbourfront.  It was an intense but fun and rewarding long weekend of doing fire shows on the Redpath stage along side of some of Toronto’s finest street performers entertaining the largest crowds the Circus Festival has ever seen.  The weather couldn’t have been better, it was sunny, warm and beautiful all day every day the whole festival.

I have to admit however, between the 35C heat and the fireballs I was slinging on stage, I was very appreciative of all the ice cream vendors stationed nearby!  Whew it got hot on that stage!  The photos attached here were taken by Lightmonkey Photography who did an absolutely incredible job of capturing the experience of the whole weekend, not just my shows.

I had an incredible time performing and meeting so many new people.  It was the perfect way to kick off the summer performance season in Toronto!

]]> My friend and colleague has made it all the way to the finals on Canada’s Got Talent.  I have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Aygul a handful of times in my career, most recently just this past New Years Eve in Oshawa Ontario.  She’s an absolutely fantastic performer as the world already knows but she’s also a wonderful person to share a long car ride with or to hangout with backstage.  I really hope she wins so please vote for Aygul! ]]> On March 30th I was performing at the Ontario Science Centre as part of their Earth Hour program. It was a fantastic time being there and it was a special performance I put together where I made a fire sculpture on the Ontario Science Centre logo which burned in the appropriate red, green and blue colours. I have video of the performance I did which I may post later, but for now here’s a snapshot from the video.

I had a great time performing there, the stage was fantastic, the staff and volunteers of the Science Centre were super friendly and it was great to hang around for a bit after the show and meeting people from the audience.  It was an absolutely fantastic way to end the winter performance season, now on to Spring!
