Duchess For A Day

2013-05-23T08:16:00.001-07:00

Once upon a time.....
there was a beautiful Manor....
and a rich long lost uncle.

source

What would you do if you discovered you had a long, lost Aristocratic uncle,

who just happened to leave you his Title and fortune in his will.

You are now a Duchess. A Duchess for a Day.

Your first order of the day is to meet with all the stuffy Lawyers. Must look the part.

Now with all the business set aside, we will have to do a wee bit of renovations and decorating to the old place.

We will start with the bedrooms.

So glad our new digs is by the sea. This room will fit right in.

A nice cozy sitting area to enjoy your afternoon tea.

One of my new responsibility is hiring new staff. Will hold interviews today.

Do you like my new Sheriff?

Little rough around the edges, but I can live with that!

How about the new Butler?

He did say his name was Butler, so I hired him as well......in seconds flat actually.

Okay, little distracted....now where was I.....oh yes,

I have just been requested an audience with HM The Queen.

I suppose she wants to meet the new Duchess.

Exhausting work, but must carry on the family name.

Let us head back home.

Blue flows with the colour of the sea.....good colour choice.

Duchess......a girl could get use it!

And of course, live happily ever after!

Winter Wind

Nothing burns like the cold winter wind.

Sweeping in from the North Sea.

Frozen tundra.

A quiet storm.

A warm welcome home.

A winter chateau.

A pretty place to hibernate.

Dressed in winter white.

Winter winds.

Webster Dictionary definition of elegance

"refined grace or dignified propriety,

tasteful richness of design or ornamentation,

dignified gracefulness or restrained beauty of style."

My definition of elegance

What can be more elegant then a beautiful bridal gown.

An elegant place to live.

Elegance - an elegant word.

A Cozy Weekend

2012-02-17T13:24:00.000-08:00

Hard to believe that February is speeding by so quickly, next week we are already in the latter part of the month. Before we know if, spring will be upon us and then the sweet summer.

Hope you all had a lovely Valentine's and maybe some lucky girls out there got a sweet little rock - big or small, still an exciting experience!

But with all the commotion of last week, we need to rejuvenate and head up to the farm for the weekend.

Can't wait to leave behind those heels.

Of course we love them, but we only love them Monday-Friday.

And we exchange them for more comfy, sensible country wear.

We'll try the new bubble bath products that we bought on sale last week.

Guaranteed to make us a new you!

House to Home

Maybe we will take a stroll into town to pick up some sweets.

Remember to dress warmly, there is a slight chill in the air.

Head into the kitchen and make yourself a cup of tea,

settle in with a good movie.

You've Got Mail

Those new sheets you bought are so heavenly, you could sleep all day.

Kaboodle

Puttering around the house is such a relaxing thing.
Find yourself a good book to read or catch up on your blogs.

home and country

Have a great weekend my friends!

Simple Weekend

2012-02-10T12:04:00.000-08:00

The best part of the week is the end of the week.

When the word week, ends with end!

Retire the suit and heels for jeans and sneakers.

And head up to your sweet little home away from home.

Find the remote control, rent a movie or catch up on some blogging.

House to Home

Chill with the comfiest sofa or chair invented by man.

Don't let anyone talk you out of life's sweet blessings.

Talk a long walk or a stroll into town.

While your out and about, might as well drop in and visit Granny.

Find your way to the kitchen to put the kettle on.

Soak in the tub until all the bubbles are gone and the water starts to get cold.

And since it is cold and snowy outside,

you might as well curl up in a comfy bed with tons of warm blankets and a good book.

Shabby White

2012-02-06T06:18:00.000-08:00

I love the look of white shabby, white French, white country.

The more vintage, the better.

Throw in some vintage.

Little bit of neutral colours here and there.

Pretty linens and fluffy pillows.

Winter Weekend

2012-02-03T07:29:00.000-08:00

We finally made it into February and left snowy January behind.

It can snow all it wants now....it's the weekend!

And we're heading out to the cottage in the country.

We'll put our feet up and enjoy the fireplace.

Sleep until....whenever it's time to wake up.

Have a cup of tea....or two.

Find a good book.

Putter around the house.....

or maybe walk down to the local shops.....

Don't forget your warmest scraf.....

It is sweetheart month, so might want to think about picking up a small gift....

brrr... it is so very cold...best hurry back home...

Pour the whole bottle of bubbles into the warm bath,

....it was, after all, a rough week right!

Settle in with a good movie.....

Since it is a leap year this February,
and sweetheart month,
maybe should give some thought to proposing to that special someone.....

Chances are he is crazy in love with you,
and has a ring waiting as well....

....with a cupcake to boot!!

Sounds like one fine weekend to me!

Have yourself a great weekend!

A Pampered Colour

2012-02-01T06:08:00.000-08:00

Pink is a very pampered colour.

You can wear it......

Bathe in it.....

Sleep in it.....

Every room should have a splash of it.....

Grow it in the yard....

It's enchanting.....

Every girl should have a pink bike.

It's pretty, pastel and simply pampered.

Peaceful Weekend

2012-01-27T12:45:00.000-08:00

Through the week we work hard.

The whole world bustles and hustle.

But weekends......are made for slowing down.

Weekends have bubble baths and books written all over it!

Warm sweaters and comfy jeans.

Drive into town and pick up some flowers and ice cream.

Don't forget your wellington's and your camera for that nature walk.

Sleep in....

Don't you just love whoever invented weekends!
