This is the 442nd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). Leading up to putting this show together, I’ve had another busy time with my day job, but I’ve resisted the temptation to go with another long track special, so this is another “normal” show, with more of an even balance of shorter and longer tracks. We have a couple of features on this show, first a feature album, ‘Living In Shadows’, the 2020 debut album by the band Living In Shadows, so you’ll hear three tracks from that throughout the playlist, as we look ahead to their live performance at EppyFest 13 on the 26th July. We also have a feature artist, the late, great trumpeter and bandleader Miles Davis, who was born just over 100 years ago, so we’ll also have several tracks either by or connected to him. Otherwise you can expect a typically eclectic playlist, covering the usual mixture of styles and genres, including some 2026 music, from old friends and new. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

After a very busy period for me, during which I put together a couple of long track specials, in part to save time, I am now finally returning with more of a “normal” show, with more of an even balance of shorter and longer tracks. There’s no feature album on this show, just a typically eclectic playlist, covering the usual mixture of styles and genres, including some 2026 music, from old friends and new, a return to our semi-regular 80s feature, and we celebrate some birthdays and reflect on some people we’ve sadly lost. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

This is the 440th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This time around, we’re having yet another of our occasional long track specials, in part because I’m putting this show together during a weekend when also I’m hosting an academic conference and, generally speaking, long track specials require a little less input from me, so I have more time to focus on the conference, but you still get to hear lots of great music. We do have a feature album on this show, ‘Ice Cream Genius’, the 1997 album by Steve Hogarth, and you’ll hear a couple of long tracks from that scattered across the playlist. We also have a long track from one of the band’s appearing at this year’s EppyFest 13. And generally, this is a show that contains lots of epic tracks, and, with one very important exception, nothing under seven minutes in length, for your listening pleasure. You can expect a typically eclectic playlist, covering the usual mixture of styles and genres, including some 2026 music, from old friends and new. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

This is the 439th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This time around, we’re having another of our occasional long track specials, in part because I’m putting this show together during my birthday weekend celebrations and, generally speaking, long track specials require a little less input from me, so I have more time to enjoy my celebrations, but you still get to hear lots of great music. There’s no feature album this time, though there will be a couple of tracks featuring musicians appearing at this year’s EppyFest 13. And generally, this is a show that contains lots of epic tracks, and, with one very important exception, nothing under seven minutes in length, for your listening pleasure. You can expect a typically eclectic playlist, covering the usual mixture of styles and genres, including some 2026 music, from old friends and new, and we’ll return to our ‘The 80s Weren’t All Rubbish You Know!’ feature. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

This is the 438th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). Last time, I was largely focused on previewing EppyFest 13, and this time we’ll be focusing on another forthcoming live music event. At the Cheese & Grain in Frome on Sunday May 10th will be the Party at the End of the World – A Celebration of Phil Moakes. For this event a fantastic musical line-up will be coming together to celebrate the life and legacy of Phil, and on this show, I’ll be playing music from many of the acts who you’ll be able to see perform, including headliners The Utopia Strong, plus Arch Garrison, and Richard Wileman, Chantelle Smith and Amy Fry. And this leads us nicely to this show’s feature album, ‘Hodmadod Meets Gogmagog’, the 2016 album by Hodmadoddery, who will also be playing at the event on Sunday May 10th, so you’ll hear three tracks from this album throughout the playlist. Otherwise, we’ll be celebrating the recent Easter weekend musically, there will be a chance to win a download copy of the new album by Emily Bezar, and we’ll cover the usual diverse selection of styles and genres across the playlist. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

This is the 437th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This show is largely focused on previewing EppyFest 13, the latest of the live music events connected with this show, which will be happening on the weekend of July 25th and 26th, 2026. At Smokey Joe’s in Cheltenham you’ll be able to see six acts perform and on this show, you’ll hear tracks from nearly all of the acts playing at EppyFest this year, and in the one case where we don’t have any music from an EppyFest act, I’ll be playing you music from musicians involved in that act instead. Which leads us nicely to this show’s feature artist, Bill Bruford, the legendary English drummer and percussionist, who will be one third of our headlining act on the Sunday of the festival (26th of July) as part of the Pete Roth Trio, consisting of Pete himself on guitar, Mike Pratt on bass, and the aforementioned Bill Bruford, on drums. And you’ll hear a number of terrific tracks featuring, or in one case, referencing Mr Bruford throughout the show. You’ll also be hearing some spoken word contributions from all but one of the EppyFest 13 acts, so you’ll get insights into what you can expect from them and what they’re looking forward to about the festival, and we’ll cover the usual diverse selection of styles and genres across the playlist. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Thanks to all the musicians who contributed, particularly all the EppyFest acts who took out time to record spoken word parts exclusively for this show, and of course to all of you listeners. Send us comments if you like what you hear (or even if you don’t… feedback is so important!). If you want to keep up to date with news about the show, EppyFest, or just chat with other listeners, don’t forget that there’s a Facebook group – just search for the Eppy Gibbon Podcast Show on Facebook and request to join, plus don’t forget that we’re now part of the Progzilla Radio Network. Next time, in a couple of weeks, I should be back, hopefully with a preview of another upcoming live music event, and of course you can expect another playlist filled with great and eclectic music. I really hope you’ll join me then.

This is the 436th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This latest show continues to focus mainly on new 2026 music, whilst also dipping into the past from time-to-time, including some references to films I’ve watched so far in 2026 that have musical connections. In fact, although we don’t quite have a feature album this time, I am drawing inspiration from the soundtrack to the brilliant film 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, and there will be four tracks throughout this show that appear on that soundtrack. Otherwise you can expect the usual diverse selection of styles and genres, covering multiple different decades, and we’ll be celebrating both the most recent Bandcamp Friday and International Women’s Day, so, just kick back and enjoy the delights on offer. Next up, in a couple of weeks’ time, I should be back with another show, which will hopefully mainly be acting as a preview of this year’s EppyFest live music event in July, so I really hope you will join me for that.

This is the 435th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). After three shows in a row where I was focusing on and counting down my favourite 36 albums of 2025, it’s about time that I started to focus mainly on new 2026 music, so that’s what I’ll be doing this show. That said, around the 2026 releases, we’ll also be dipping into the past. And we’ll also have a feature album for the first time in a while, which is both a 2026 release and also a blast from the past, Karda Estra’s 2001 album ‘Eve’, because it’s recently been remastered and re-released, so you’ll hear three tracks from that scattered throughout the playlist. And you can expect the usual eclectic mixture of music, so, just kick back and enjoy the delights on offer. Next up, in a couple of weeks’ time, I should be back with another show focusing mainly on new 2026 music – I’ve still got a lot to catch-up on! I really hope you will join me for that.

This is the 434th edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This is the third of three shows focusing on some of my favourite music and albums from 2025. On this show, I’m completing my countdown of my favourite 36 albums of 2025 with my big, beautiful top 10. Join me as I count down from the album I’ve chosen at number 10 to the album I’ve chosen at number 1. You can expect the usual eclectic mixture of music, but there’s no feature album or artist this time around, as I’m just trying to feature as much music as I can from my favourite 10 albums from last year. And as well as two tracks from each album, you’ll also hear some spoken word contributions from artists involved in nearly all of the albums, providing that extra bit of insight. So, just kick back and enjoy the eclectic musical mix, and see how many of these albums you already own and which ones might be on your wishlist. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.

Next up, in a couple of weeks’ time, I should be back with a show focusing mainly on new 2026 music – I’ve a lot to catch-up on! I really hope you will join me for that.

This is the 433rd edition of the Epileptic Gibbon podcast music show and the playlist to accompany it. You can CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD but note that the shows are large files. The show is also available to stream via Mixcloud and the Progzilla Radio Network (the show appears on Progzilla in alternate weeks). This is the second of three shows focusing on some of my favourite music and albums from 2025. On this show, I’m continuing my countdown of my favourite 36 albums of 2025, and I’ll be counting down from the album I’ve chosen at number 21 to the album I’ve chosen at number 11. You can expect the usual eclectic mixture of music, but there’s no feature album or artist this time around, as I’m just trying to feature as many bands and artists, and tracks from their albums, as possible. On the next show, I’ll be finishing the countdown, moving onto my 10 favourite albums of 2025. So, just kick back and enjoy the eclectic musical mix, and see how many of these albums you already own and which ones might be on your wishlist. Below you’ll find the track list, plus weblinks from where you can find more information about each artist.
