The Best Place Called Home

I have made a post of this last year, transferred from my honeydhynnes.wordpress account. Just copied and pasted including the picture where it was saved in that domain. It was already closed or should I say suspended, so the picture does not appear in my post, only the narrative.

I saved a picture of our old home, our loving home who sheltered and took care of us for more 27 years. Almost wrecked, stood still under the stikes of typhoons and earthquake, of rainy and sunny days. Made of wood and the floor was just the land where it was built. It made me dreamed of something for my family, when I was born here, at a very young age, I promised myself that I will give my parents a better home. But that was not easy. So I still aim that my dream house will be built soon (actually, me and Arlene Bonquin - now in Taiwan, dream and aim to have our dream house).

That was our home, loving home. We will never ever forget that. See, daming tukod to support our almost pagiba nang bahay. It was memorable, I borught many of my friends there, slept and did some get together, from elementary, high school college until my working days. Almost a year and half that this was gone, but remains in our hearts. It was a place where true happiness resides :-) .

How to Survive College Life

I’d been through difficult times when I was in college. Finances were really apart from me and not in my vocabulary. I am not blessed with a wealthy life, should you have one, a good education from famous schools can be chosen and you may be feeling so choosy where to go to because you have lots of pennies in front of you. Lucky you are then!

Contrary to that, well, I can say I am still fortunate for having a life that is financial struggling; it was through it that I became very eager to finish my college education, so very aggressive to find ways to uplift my family’s condition. It is who I am – I am a dreamer who kept and keeps on believing that there is nothing impossible if you thrive harder and aim higher.

After I graduated in high school, I had a problem of whether or not to pursue my college education, I was aware that my parents were unable to finance me well, my father had a temporary job and wasn’t sure if he will bring home excessive money for my education , my mother was a housekeeper. But I was really eager to go to college. Some advises me to stop for a year, find a job and save for my own education – she had point though, but that did not prevent me dreaming to have my college. Fortunately, there was this school who offers scholarship to less fortunate individual like me, CANOSSA COLLEGE – the only school I’d taken entrance examination. God was really good for then, I was able to pass the entrance examination and the interview of the College Dean Ms. Susan Escolano. Two HR staffs visited our home to check if I really need the scholarship – Ms. Aileen Juaneza, and they saw that I really need one. So after all those processes, examination, interviews and home visit, I got an A in their scholarship program under St. Bakhita.

I am thankful for the scholarship grant I had, but that wasn’t enough, I still need my allowance for food and fare, how will I survive now? And this is it! On my first few days – I only ate Creams biscuits during lunch that was my food until the very last subject (it was perhaps the reason why I was so thin hehe) but I still need sort of allowance. What did I do then?

I was selling palitaw, butse and yema in our school, my classmates were my customers. And haist….I had my allowance already, thanks my classmates for providing me my daily allowance because of you, I survived! Aside from that, I offered my tutorial services to four elementary students of Canossa – after my classes, I went to their home every day. I had excessive allowance by then and I was able to hand some to my parents, so very thankful Lord for providing me! That way – selling kakanin and tutoring, I survived my college life!

I am not alone for this experience, I know there are thousands students everywhere who are looking for many ways to survive their education – especially those who are less fortunate. There are many ways folks, you can do what I did, or if you do not know how to make such kakanin, you can make some accessories like earrings, beaded bracelets, necklaces and ID holder – not only you are having fun with your craft but you are also earning from it for your education. Use your idle time doing some lucrative things and stuffs. You may want to blog too – you can earn from it, little by little, the wee earning you see will grow bigger as time goes by. Some schools do offer assistance to less fortunate students like being a student librarian, cleaning rooms during the students’ spare time, being a varsity player and so on. You may inquire your schools and check what they have.

If you are really eager to finish your education, there are many options and ways to do so, in good ways though, do not try filthy things just to finish it – that will not bring any good to you.

Strive hard and you’ll reap what you sow someday.

Real Success Comes From Real People..

Nice one.. :-)

These were the words uttered by one of the male singing groups who recently arrived here in the country to do concert, the Lettermen. The group had guested in PDA and taught a bit about singing, and likewise gave sort of advice. Admittedly, they are great, they have a great singing voice and rendition of the song, (sorry i forgot the title). Bugoy had also a chance to sing a song before them.

As they were about to go and their wee performance inside the house had ended, they vociferated these words..."Real success comes from real people", and this had caught my sleepy mind during that night. I told my housemate Renee, "Ganda!!" (beautiful!) it's true.

No matter what you dwell in your life, how you venture into anything you just wanted to vent, if you are not sincere and true to these endeavors, surely, success will not be in your hands. Success comes to those who are indeed honest, toilsome and real, no dupes involved in performing the tasks, no pejorative and sporadic acts along and no chicanery cohorts. Success is all about our clean and pure intention of executing all our deeds.

Seeing our idols and those who are successful ones, we definitely know that they reached the stage where they are now because of being toilsome, plus discipline plus the mettle to take the risk plus dreaming their dreams and turning these dreams into reality plus the clean and pure intention of fulfilling these dreams and executing the tasks accordingly. Step by step, these are the very fundamentals of becoming a real successful person.

By the way, success is not only measured by the achievements we have had and how lucrative we are, but it is also measured by the fulfillment in our very ownselves, the happiness we feel each and every time and the way we deal and rise up with our flaws and blunders. Additionally, success will absolutely be in our hands if we always pray, so pray a lot.

Hope i somehow eke some wee inspiration to you guys.

Baler

Lucky me, I married David. Why? Because my husband's family enjoys visiting different places together. And because we are part of his family now, I was able to join them too. Last year's adventure was at the north part of the country , Ilocos region. We spent 3 days of vacation, my husband was also here during that time. It was month of April then. And this year, we were dragged to Baler. My husband wasn't here to help me look after JD. He missed this adventure, happened on April too. I thought I can't join them as I also had a work then, but they asked me first when I could possibly take a leave, and they'd schedule according to my availablity, very touching. I wasn't expecting that :) They were thinking of me so I could join them, albeit my husband wasn't here, thank you! And the adventure began. It took us more than 5 hours of drive to reach Baler, it was that long because we took a different route, we had it at mountains, scary as it was beginning to get dark, and we heard that there's lot of NPA around. But thank God He guided us and kept us safely. We reached Baler at night and started to look for a place to stay. Glad we found one, but transferred again the next day. On our 2nd day, that was the time that we enjoyed Baler. We enjoyed the beach, as well as JD. If I were big that time, I would probably not be wearing a swimwear, I would perhaps be saying, "these plus size bathing suits" love me :D but the opposite, thanks my braces, I was thinner to wear the not for plus size bathing suit. Besides the beach, one of the most wonderful yet tiring experience was the trecking to Ditumabo Mother Falls. It took us more than 30 minutes of hike, the way was rocky and rough. Imagine I was carrying Jhaydii, that was too adamant of me to carry my 11kgs daughter. But thankfully, my legs and arams were strong to endure the hike. See below pictures too... I should have posted this one before the Baler. I have been to this place many times, my first time was during our college recollection, the next important visit was during our 2013 team building, I know prior to this, I also went there however I couldn’t remember when it was, what I am sure is, we were there with colleagues. And then during David’s adventure, and recently, on August 22, with Jay and JD.

Tagaytay is one of the countries most visited places, due to a cool breeze as it’s located on a higher area (mountainous). It’s like a little Baguio. When I heard the first time that we’re going to Tagaytay, I was like, WOW! I felt like a tourist on my own country. This town is also where our country’s artists build their home due to the nice weather.

Enough of that. This place is now developed compare to what it was before. There’s now themed park to visit, the Sky Ranch. We David’s clan visited and stayed at the house of Tita Glo’s niece on April, hmmm….can’t remember the exact date. After some recuperation due to long drive, we went to Sky Ranch and took the chance of enjoying the rides. But because I have a little one with me, we only had the Mary Go Round. And then nothing after that. Unfortunately, I was puzzled why JD was throwing up the fact she is already used to traveling far. The vomiting continued the following day. I was also throwing up. That was exactly after our People’s Park in the Sky visit. I was thinking that it was due to the espasol that me and JD ate. It was hard when both of us felt bad, I was fainting, and JD cried a lot. I recovered, unfortunately, JD continued to feel bad even where going back home in Pampanga.

Positivity of a Palitaw Vendor and Tutor

It's been almost 11 years when I started blogging. And I must say that the passion in me when I was just starting to blog has diminished. I don't have the same urge now to write as before. Maybe because my niche is hard and I now find it hard to post something interesting. Even the many places I've been with were difficult to transcribe.. hmmmm and now I can tell you that it's not about the time because I have lots of it, just like now that I'm in a bus going home in Pampanga. The reason behind for sure is my laziness for not blogging, although I thought of many topics to post. Why can't I bring back the 4 posts in a day here? Please passion be with me again. Anyway, all I need is positivity. I have a positive outlook in life - for all the many blessings we've received, who wouldn't be? I've been through a lot of sacrifices during my childhood days in fact, but what kept my faith was my positivity and my family as my inspiration. I wouldn't be here if I was not hungry and thirsty for my ambition and dream. I've read an officemate's post about him as why he'd be a proud STI alumna.. And I was moved by his story, his dream and ambition helped him position to where he is now. It's because of his positivity. And I can somehow relate mine to him. Like him, I didn't care if I came not from a famous university but from a provincial college in Laguna. But I am proud I am one Canossiana, it helped me be me - sharer of God's love. And I was one lucky person because that beloved school was the only one I took exam with - and scholarship. And I was lucky to be granted full scholarship - because I was so sure that I will not be able to finish my college education - my father and mother were kakanin peddlers. Si inay ang nagluluto ng butse, pilipit and palitaw and si tatay ang nagtitinda. The income they were getting was just enough and sometimes not enough for our daily needs. Going through college was hard, being financially unstable - but at the same time an advantage for me as it served as my inspiration to finish my college ed and help my parents uplift our family's condition. To help me with my daily allowance, wherein I had with me 20 pesos, enough as my fare going to school. But how about toing home? Don't worry, I also had palitaw and sometimes yema to sell to my classmates. They knew my situation and they were kind enough to buy from me, so I have money na to go home!!!! I also tutored elementary students when I was in my 2nd year, that was the time I stopped selling palitaw na. I earned about 1500 per month - I think boarding house was 500 and the rest was my allowance. I sometimes gave some to inay pa. Ang saya ng life di ba? Kung tamad lang ako nun and hindi positive wala sanang nangyaring maganda ngayon, hindi sana ako si Dhynnes ngayon. Hay.... I will keep on reiterating this wonderf story of mine. Dati umiiyak pa ko kapag nagkekwento ako pero because I know how I am so much blessed, wala na ang madalas na pagluha. Mataba na sina inay at tatay, hindi na giri or tabingi ang aming bahay. May asawa na ako at may isang Jd at susundan ng isa pa. Walang marangyang buhay pero marangya sa pagmamahal ng kapamilya at kaibigan. My 2 brothers are in Saudi - salamat kay Jay at Kuya Andy. Now I'm at Xerox and proud to be here, turning 7 years on May 25. I also went through a lot here but positivity remains and will always be. I hope everyone does have positive outlook in life para naman peace on Earth is there....

Utah - July 2009, Dallas Texas - February 2014 and for the third time, California on October 2014. These were the states I'd been through for a business training, one of the perks or benefits (I consider) bestowed on me when I join ACS (now Xerox). So on October 2014, I together with the two co-employees flew to CA for a 3-week training. We flew by the China Airlines - yes China but the service was okay. Ehem, and this post will require a lot of reminiscing as it already has 2 years passed. Good thing I posted a lot of pictures in my IG account - will help me remember things then :) Oh, and I'd rather grab a shot of 'em and post them here, they have caption though, sort of telling what happened then ;) Enjoy the photos!

So that's our long flight :) Been used to going through the US Immigration na din. And I had a funny story pa nga here because the Immigration Officer asked me if Ralph (my guy companion) is my boyfriend daw, although I told him that we're on a business trip. Okay okay.... And besides traveling to US, I would also want to travel within Asia now with my family. First on our list is at Hongkong, but doesn't know yet when it will happen. I want my kids to experience HK Disneyland as much as I did when I went there with my officemates :) I enjoyed a lot, and it surely means that my kids will do enjoy as well. Besides wishing to visit Hongkong, I also am looking forward to visit Singapore. I have a lot of friends working there, and honestly, I was also dreaming to work there. Singapore is known to have a disciplined people, and stable jobs. But of course, along with this is the high cost of living. And so now, I would want to visit this country for pleasure, with my family and of course we would need to find for a place to stay in while we are there. So many hotels to consider, and would want to try the cari hotel di singapura. I will just ask my friends where best to stay at during the wished Singapore stay with family.

Barneys Burger in Pampanga

Last Sunday after the 9:30 AM mass, my husband drove us to I thought going to SM 'coz we're going to have our groceries. But he just passed by the SM Pampanga and I was puzzled where were going. I told him "San tayo, S&R?" - he then replied, "Bat tayo mag S&R wala naman tayo bibilhin dun?" I again asked him "Dalaw tayo kay Ninang Zeny?" he replied "Lalabas na nga, dadalaw ka pa" Hmmm, so I had no idea where we were heading. Then after few minutes, we stopped at a familiar place, at Barneys Burgers! Haha. It was our 2nd time there.

Barneys Burgers is located at Dolores San Fernando Pampanga. Menus are yum and at very affordable prices. I Applied in Qatar Airways

I was looking for a better opportunity, a greener pasture and wishing to work abroad. I felt I was stuck in a position for so long. I felt impatient that is why I tried applying online in Qatar Airways as a Senior Financial Analyst. Months had passed, I forgot already that I had a pending application there. Until one day, I received an international call, it was a phone interview by the Qatar Airways recruitment staff. Sounded a Chinese staff because of her accent. I was at home in Tiaong Quezon and the signal wasn't clear so the line was cut. I thought she wouldn't call me anymore, but she contacted me again after few minutes. Thank God! And then again I waited for more weeks. No feedback. Then the awaited prayer came in, I was promoted yey! I forgot everything about Qatar Airways because I was happy that my prayer was granted. I was sent to Dallas on February 2014, then at California on October 2014. Who wouldn't be happier right? When we were in California with my two staffs and was drafting the DTP of the processes we captured from Disney peeps, I received an email from Qatar Airways. I was shocked and happy :D I didn't realize that I will still be considered because it already was long time ago. They invited me for an interview in Doha Qatar. Yes, you read it right, in Qatar itself. My husband was an OFW in Qatar too so I was so excited to inform him about it that i will be able to visit him if in case. Hindi matanggal sa isip ko if it's really true, that I would need to go to Qatar just for an interview. And then I replied that I am open. So the recruiter gave me instructions to process my visa and other related documents at JS Contractor - and I did, that was late 2014. All was set. I had my visa which lasted for a month, I had my airfare sponsored by Qatar Airways of course and my hotel which was at Plaza Inn.

I flew to Qatar on January 23rd, 2015. Pano ba idetalye... it was 2 years ago and I can vividly remember everything pa, when I arrived at Hammad Airport it was already night. Hindi ako dumaan sa regular na daanan ng mga passengers, I went through a different custom and had my visa stamped. I was escorted na din to the waiting area, meron kasing susundo sa amin. I saw a girl also waiting like me. And wow she's a Filipina- was an applicant also but for an HR position. We talked while we're walking nung dumating na service from the airport to the hotel. And she's Analene Ocampo - from Arayat Pampanga. She flew all the way from Maldives, she works there kasi. There's wifi connection as you know in the airport so I kept my husband updated of where I was. We will meet kasi :) :) :) . And when we departed from airport ayun the connection was lost. And my husband was waiting for me in front of the hotel ng matagal na (ang lamig pa naman that time), it's okay hopefully if there's burswood acoustic guitar. And finally we reached the hotel, the first thing I asked was the wifi password because I need to contact my husband to know where he was. Sigh! And yes, I contacted him, he's just few steps away from the hotel. He was allowed to stay naman with me \m/ The following day was my interview- January 24th. We were three na sinundo in the hotel. Analene, me and the Chinese girl who's applying for a pricing position.

And at the Qatar Airways, I saw a lot of Filipinos, and I liked it there na. Analene was called, the Chinese girl was called at ang tagal na hindi pa ko natatawag :( It was already 12nn or I think 1pm when a girl approached and informed me that the one interviewer had a family emergency and won't be able to push through the interview without him. So she sent me to the hotel. Before I leave the Qatar Airways office, the receptionist handed me an envelope, it contained my allowance hihi QAR150/day. I went to the hotel and told my husband that I wasn't interviewed yet kaya ipinasyal na lang nya ako sa City Center... Here are the photos ;) Scroll down to see them...

And the next day, my interview. Shocks I literally felt the difficulty in answering. They were three to interview me. Hirap na hirap ako pagsagot. I even told them " I am sorry, I wasn't able to answer your question correctly ". And because of that, alam ko na ang result. But I was still praying baka kasi maghimala haha. They told me they'd inform me via email about the result. So I went back at the hotel and prepared my things because I will be going home at night.

Days, weeks, months and now it's exactly two years, I never received any feedback haha. Hello asa pa ba ako? But it was a nice experience. Parang pasyal na lang na libre di ba? San ka pa. Bihira kaya yun! I was able to meet and be wih my husband pa di ba? With free allowance, free hotel accommodation and airfare! Kaya okay na din kahit hindi pumasa. The experience itself is a prize na. Ayun... I've been to Doga Qatar. Tamang tama ang tapos ng post ko, Balintawak na ako and bababa na. Till next time readers! Apply din kayo sa Qatar Airways ha :)

Hi Universal Studios Hollywood!

Thank you again FB for reminding me of my memories three years back. And because it showed up on my “On this Day” I grabbed the opp to take pictures saved in my FB album. It was I think our firsr weekend at LA, we had a chance to visit Universal Studios Hollywood. And oh before that our time was spent transferring to another hotel - from Mikado (if I memory serves me right) to Holiday Inn. It was because of.... see below

And let these pictures tell you the whole story. It was Halloween season so I enjoyed the theme park, pretending I was one of the zombies. There was also a tour wherein venue where the Walking Dead was shot, and other amazing sights where shooting of a movie or tv shows took place. 2014 rates was also photographed:-)

And so the day was over and our feet were tired, but nevertheless, it was a fun day experience!

OGCT, Urine Test and Albumin with Our 2nd Baby

I am one lucky mama for being pregnant without any difficulty going through it. Even when I was carrying JD, I also did not go through morning sickness and other unlikely conditions other pregnant women experience. I must be thankful to my babies for not giving me so much sacrifices :)

Seems everything is normal, my tummy is not that huge, I can travel from and to Pampanga for work, not so much cravings and not gaining much weight. And when I gave birth to JD, I also did not have much pain, I didn't feel how I delivered her NSD. I always tell na ewan ko, I didn't feel it, kasi honestly, hindi talaga. I was sleeping, and when I woke up, I was groggy, my OB and her assistants were around helping me push JD out. I just noticed her voice, and medyo blurry pa sight ko - it was perhaps because of the meds that I took and injected on me. Sabi ni Doc Valdez - my first OB, I didn't know how to make iri daw kaya nahirapan sila, although di ko na feel hehe.... When I regained my memory after being discharged from operating room on March 21, 2012, dun ko na feel na masakit ang tyan ko, dahil sa pagdagan sa akin to help me push JD out :D .

And with our second baby, I hope Dra. Jeanette Samonte will be that good as Dra. Valdez, that she'll not make it hard for me to deliver our baby ?.

On the other note..... so I had a post here that I took my OGCT with JD having a HIGH 160+! result, made me take the OGTT - wherein four blood extractions were done in the interval of an hour. That was so memorable, and tiring.

Thankfully I now have a normal sugar level of 110 (sigh). The lab test was done when I was on my 22nd week, taken last February 20. My husband accompanied me at SFUC, we were there at about 11am. I actually forgot the process, the lab assistant asked me the time I had my breakfast, yay good thing it was already an hour lapsed kasi the test needs to be done after an hour of breakfast. The assistant gave me a 50ml solution - which is very sweet. My bad that I didn't take a photo of it. After I took it, the assistant told me to wait for an hour then the blood will be extracted. Okay - so after an hour, the blood was extracted. JD was with me the whole process while my husband was waiting outside. You know namen men - they usually are impatient ( ? ) JD was curious the entire test at syempre ready ako sa mga answers hehe. And then after extraction, I have to wait for another hour again for the result - so long process talaga. What more with OG?T right? Buti na lang talaga normal ang sugar level ko.

So ito na mga mama ang result, syempre my husband fell asleep while waiting, almost 1PM na when the result was given. I was wondering pa if this 110mg ba na result is normal because there's no range or basis as to whether just right or high. I just knew it when I had my check up with Dra. Samonte. Thank God for a normal result. I also am an O+ blood type na I always forget. Iblog ko na para I will always be reminded no. So same pala kami ni Jay ng blood type, he is also O+ ?

And likewise - I also had problem with my urinalysis JD's time. I had UTI, albumin and pus cells trace. And because I make sure now that I drink a lot of water, yey and clap for the result ? I don't have any trace of albumin and pus cells and a rare bacteria. Good job ma dhy! For baby's benefit eat right and healthy and drink plenty!

This lab test costed my Php1,250 - urine test was Php50 and the rest was for blood. Just right.

My last check up was February 27. Dra. Samonte advised me that I can have my ultrasound na daw to know the gender of our baby. Hopefully it's a boy na ?

Flashback: JD's Wonderful Baptism

***Happened last March 23, 2013***

After almost 2 months, I am now have the zest to share you the wonderful baptism of our baby. I did not expect it that way. It was my first time though, the normal is just a simple pouring of holy water, pagpapahid ng oil and lightning candles. May ganun din sa baptism ni JD but in an amazing way.

The baptism is much expensive that what I know, it costs P1,000 wherein P350 is the amount I know. And besides to that, P100 each for every godparents.

Why :?: JD's baptism was wonderful? Let me share ;) But before that, here's JD preparing for the day where she will become truly Christian.

The ceremony was held on March 23, 2013 at Sto. Domingo de Guzman parish church, officiated by Father Homer Policarpio - the singing priest, she started by singing "When JD was born." I was cuddling JD and father asked me to give her to daddy J as it is the normal.

And after some talks Fr, asked daddy J to go in front and bring JD for some blessing/holy water pouring.

Then the eldest godmother was told also to go in front to wipe the oil, followed by the godfather to put the white cap. Ninang Kamile and Ninong Gerald did them respectively.

Then came my turn, I went in front to light the big blue candle for use later. Then after the homily (there was of course nice advise and lessons given to us) daddy J went in front to light the candle (from the big blue candle I lighted) and light the candles of the godparents.

**Flashback from September 2015**

We were about to leave to have lunch at one of our relatives - 40 days death of their father. Just when I was preparing something at the kitchen, I heard JD crying loudly. I looked at her and saw she was in the stairs, holding her chin. I thought it was just a simple accident. But when I approached and help her, I saw lots of blood on her hands and checked where it was coming. I was nervous when I saw her chin. There's a laceration - a bit of epidermis protrudes. I panicked. My husband and I decided to bring her to the hospital to get her wound stitched. Here she is, bravely facing Dr. Clemente while she was getting stitched. She got 3. I can't endure looking at her while she's like this (but I still manage to take her pictures haha). She got our very good - behaving while she was being asked by the nurse, while being injected with anesthesia and while being stitched. Before her turn, we always told her not to cry and be brave, her laceration will be okay - this helped a lot :)

We'll get back to the hospital to remove the stitches, and hopefully her wound is okay na okay by then.

Yeah It's Time - Welcome Baby Ezekiehl

I already started my off from work on the 10th of June - it was also the time of ITO team building, the one that I did not join in. The next day June 11th was our 5th wedding anniversary, it was my pre-natal check up as well. During my check up, Dra. Samonte checked how dilated I was and told me that I was 1 to 2cm dilated. She gave me an admission slip so anytime that I feel the sign I can go to the hospital. She also gave me things to bring, although I prepared some na. I was 126.4 lbs. My next check up would be June 18. But, noontime of that day, my tummy contracts several times. My in-laws invited us to go to Ventura Memorial Park but I refused because of the frequent contraction of my tummy. And then at 11pm, the contraction with tolerable pain started - 5 to 7 minute intervals. I timed the contraction (shown below) - and I didn't manage to continue when the pain was intensed. I was able to blog pa Is It Time? while I was in my labor stage. During those contraction, I tried to breath properly, making my husband so nervous, ano daw nangyayari napapano daw ako. His first time though he wasn't here when I gave birth to JD. I can still bear the pain, but it got intense at around 2am. 230AM, I told my husband, daddy it's time, I will take a bath. He boiled me water, while I'm feeling the pain :( It was like baby Kiehl is pushing himself out. After we prepared ourselves, (and oh mabanggit ko lang na I did not forget na maglagay ng kilay kasi sobrang nipis ng kilay ko hehehe....i still did it even I was in pain) we went our way to the hospital, we were with Jay's sister. I can't stop yelling and bursting myself because baby was really pushing himself out. Nakapag withdraw pa kami nun ha, so we can have money na ready. We were there at the hospital siguro 3am. And the contraction interval was only 2minutes down to 1 minute. At the emergency room of Mother Theresa of Calcutta Medical Center, we gave them Dra. Samonte's admission slip. Ako - I bursted in pain while I was being put in a wheelchair. The nurse told me in Kapampangan, wag daw ako umiri. And so mali pala ang ginagawa ko - I was umiiri na since the beginning. Oh em - good thing baby tummy did not come out yet. While they were telling me Kapampangan dialect, I asked them "ano yun?" in loud voice because of the pain. Hehe I'm so sorry, I can't understand most of Kapampangan words pa. Then I was brought in to the delivery room, the nurse hastily checked how dilated I was, and they panicked - "Ma'am bakit ngayon lang kayo?" "Ma'am wag po kayo umiri, hinga po sa bibig", sabi ko "Pano?" The 2 nurses in the delivery room panicked because I was fully dilated na, I heard the word crowning. Then I heard them say "Awsan mo na Dra. Samonte (Tawagan mo na Dra. Samonte) crowning na" - "Ma'am sagli mu po ha, panulo ko pa, bakit kasi ngayon lang po kayo dumating" After they've put me IV and some medicine, they started to try to push me while Dra. wasn't there yet. I tried to push, but it was hard. Then Dra. came, "Dhina si Doc to, iri ka na" I tried to push so mga 3 times ata, but to no avail, mali daw pag iri ko, and I was yelling din. They told me, "Ma'am wala pong sound, wag pong maingay, hinga lang po sa tyan yung parang tumatae" And I tried, but why it was wrong pa din. I can feel they were lashing my down there ? pero di ko na din inintindi, all I want is makalabas and ma ipush si baby. Then I breathed deeply, then pushed without sound na parang mapuputol litid ko. Ang hirap grabe. Unlike kay JD, I really did not feel the pain, but this time, yeah with pain but not so much pa din compared to others. Yun finally, I did it! I heard them double cord coil si baby, and thank God I still managed to deliver him normally. After that, I was feeling some pain pa din - napapa ahhh and sigaw ako sa pain, Dra. was stitching my laceration pala. I was so groggy that I even asked doc "Doc yung mais po", Doc was wondering what I was asking then I apologized na lang when I realized I was just dreaming. Baby Ezekiehl came out on June 12, 2016 at 3:41 am, he weighed 2.84kilos or 6.2lbs. I was on my 37th week and 5 days of pregnancy (JD was 39 weeks when I gave birth to her). Thank God that he's healthy and we're both safe.

That was my funny story again. Inay told me dapat sa 3rd baby marunong na daw ako umiri, sabi ko no 3rd na po tama.na ang 2. We're now both home. And as of this writing I can't sleep yet because baby Kiehl wants to be carried always. Whenever I put him down to bed, he wakes up. buong araw sya kaninang sleep without me carrying him now that I should sleep ayaw nya magpababa, the sacrifice of sleepless night now begins.

Precious Moments Electric Breastpump

The moment I've decided to breastfeed, I already thought on what breastpump to use. One colleague who breastpump uses spectra M1 which I often see in facebook - spectra by babymama and made me want to have it too. It's very pricey at Php7k. I told my husband I want it and will buy it when needed. Came the time that I need the pump, and because spectra can be purchased in Ortigas and we're in Pampanga, having it is now impossible. Furthermore the wiser and miser mama me thinks that it's too expensive. So we decided to check at Baby Company in SM.

The sales assistant showed us the Chicco first, then the Avent and Pigeon but none of them sufficed our budget. Luckily, one lady advised and showed us the Precious Moments electric breastpump. She demonstrated how to use it and I liked it. It's very affordable at Php1,600! So we bought it. I now have something to use to harvest milk ?

At first use, I had a difficulty expressing milk, I only had 1oz, because I am not use to it yet. And then eventually, it went up to 2oz, 3oz then 4oz. I was so happy using it. Although it pained me a bit and it's so noisy. Expressing 4oz using this pump took me 30 minutes - both breast. But sadly, when I was about to express milk last Monday August 22, the pump wasn't functioning anymore. It had sound but did not suck my nippy. I was so worried, I needed to get milk for Kiehl and my breasts were getting heavier. I bid bye to my precious and bought a new one on the same day. It's a Looney Tunes! I'll blog about how happier I am buying it ?? meantime let me end this post here and thank you Precious Moments for two months of servicing me. Ah by the way, maybe you want to know why it gave up. My thinking was because I was putting the motor along with the expressed milk inside the igloo cooler bag with one ice pack. My bad that I didn't take care of it carefully. The motor needs to stay dry at all times.

Simple Tips to Increase Pumping Breastmilk

Yeah, it's really my tips :-) Because I personally experience and am doing it and here I am to share with you breastfeeding mama who pump at work my hacks or tips to increase the breastmilk you pump. I am an average milk producer, just enough for our baby kiehl. I express 3 to 4 ounces per session every 3 hours. I bring home 3 bottled breastmilk of say average of 4oz each na lang. Sometimes I have 5 but it's very rare. And because I wanted to increase it, I am doing the following:

Reposition the pump you're using. After some minutes of pumping and you notice that it's no longer flowing, try repositioning your breastpump in a way that some part of your breast would be expressed. Effective yan mga mama. Minsan pa nga mas malakas pa magflow yung milk after repositioning.
Gently massage your breast while pumping. Really effective for me. When the milk flow is very konti na lang, I massage and pressed my breast while pumping and sirit uli yung milk. Nakakahappy yan mama.
Don't time your pump. I mean you don't need to time each breast, they say 15 minutes each breast. Not for me. What I'm doing is, upon noticing that the flow is slow or wala na after ko din nyan ng massage and repositioning, turn of the other breast naman and do the same, reposition, massage then if wala na I pump again the first breast and wow, again - it flows ng madami pa din. Then after that, change breast again. Sometimes I have 4 to 5 times of switching until wala na talaga mapiga and my breasts are empty na.
Drink lots of water. Actually I've tried foods to boost my milk but I have proven that no one is effective but water - lots of water. Yeah I tried M2 malunggay tea and it increased my pumped milk a bit - by one or two ounces sometimes - pwede na ;).
And lastly, be happy and stress-free while pumping. Grabe this is super super effective, yesterday I had 6oz and 5oz in my second and last session. I just had lots of water and was enjoying my pumping session. Kasi sino ba namang hindi matutuwa when you see the overflowing milk di ba? Stress affects the milk supply. When I'm like that, I can only have 3oz. I remember one of my colleagues shared that during month end close, no milk was flowing out no matter how hard she tried to pump, grabe ang effect ng stress of month end sa kanya hehehe.

and ?? prayer... Pray that you may have overflowing milk for your baby...

And I'm very happy to share these bottles I pumped yesterday. Why not today pala? Because I was a bit stressed and had 4oz each lang per session. So let me share the yesterday's output...pumped within 30 minutes with 3 hours of not pumping. Super duper happy si mama dhy because of that output. It's gold kasi so every single drop counts. I want our baby Kiehl to be purely breastfed - kaya I pray that my milk sustains Kiehl's need. By the way, I am using a Looney Tunes electric breast pump (hover over the link to read my review). The Furby Story

Hindi pwedeng hindi ko to iblog kahiya hiya man sya pero okay lang... Here's why.... An hour after lunch, I and She went to Toy Kingdom in Mall of Asia to buy some toys. Hers are gift to her staff and mine is a present for Jhaydii as a reward for being an achiever this third quarter. It's my surprise to her, she didn't know that I'm going to buy her a toy. Gusto ko sana yung grocery pets na sinasabi nya kasi she always says she wants it. And I also promised to buy her Shopkins kapag kasama sya sa top 5 and if she gets a star on her card. She did have a star on her card pero she wasn't able to be on top 5, rank 6 sya but it's okay kasi ang laki ng itinaas ng mga grades nya. And additionally, her daddy went up to the stage with her to receive an award, a certificate of recognition, with honors. Ang saya di ba! Proud parent here She was so innocent of her achievement. Bakit daw sya naka uniform and bakit daw kami pupunta sa school, papasok daw kami haha. As we were seating in front of the stage before the recognition started, I explained to het that she's going to get up to get an award. She asked me how will she and daddy get it. San daw dadaan. And I showed her where.... Sorry, her first time haha... During the first grading, she was ranked 6, with an average of 89.6 - muntik na, kulang na lang ng 4 points so she'd be included to be with honors. Second quarter, she didn't make it again. She was ranked 9, bumaba because she was a week absent and missed her classes due to flu... Kaya it was her and our first time. Okay... going back to the toy... I wanted to surprise Jhaydii so I went to Toy Kingdom to buy. I already had two items on hand, the barbie and the peanuts toy for kiehl. And I passed by to this cute Furby toy na 20% off... I asked the staff's assistance to see what's inside.

Ang cute nya and ang ganda! Ang sarap hawakan.... and for sure matutuwa si jhaydii dun and even Kiehl. Since I liked it, I told the staff "give me light pink" and she escorted me to the cashier. While I was there and the cashier is punching the items I bought, the staff who assisted me told me na it needs 4 double A batteries and also cover the eyes by the eye shield to turn the Furby off, it has no on off daw kasi. And I handed my atm card to pay and wow I was shocked when I saw the total bill swiped! Php4,099.75! I was like, "4000???? Wait miss pwede ba icancel kasi akala ko 400 lang eh, sorry" and they say, "cancel daw po akala daw po 400"

Yes it was bashful! And I was so ashamed of what had happened. "Yes mam pwede po icancel, ay mam kaso po pala atm to, 2 to 3 weeks pa po mababalik sa account nyo" "Okay lang" sabi ko... Pinagpawisan ako ng bongga. Nakakahiya sa mga kasunod ko sa pila. But it was the right thing for me to do. I wouldn't spend Php4k for a toy which has no real benefit for my kids. Not even educational ??. Sorry talaga sa abala TK staff. Nagtaka ako while I was heading the cashier kasi I was escorted by he sales staff, kaya pala ganun kasi I am about to buy a high value item. Naabala ko din She, I think it took us thirty minutes to settle the documents... Grabe talaga.... Lesson learned... Look closer at the price before paying for it and syempre pay attention to the cash register kasi if I am not looking at it kanina and was just handing my atm and getting it back without paying attention to my total bill, baka hindi ko na mapacancel yung item.... so there you go mamas... my unforgettable experience for today.... And I know Jhaydii will be very happy I have a present for her, no matter what it is and no matter how much it cost... Lalo na pag surprise... So till next quarter again. Expected na namin that mas mababa sya because her grade will be an average pf the four quarters wherein mababa yung 2nd quarter. But still, it's okay... We are still and always proud of her... Kayo mommies, do you also have an experience like this?

JML 4 in 1 Rechargeable Lady Epilator

Let me share you an electronic thing that I bought not only for me (dahil sabi ng box it’s a lady epilator) but also for my husband. We were actually looking for a callous remover. Nakita kasi ni Jay from a Facebook ad that there is a seemed to be an effective electric callous remover. I visited the page, read through and sent then inquiry. The product is buy one take one for only Php1,490. As I was waiting for the reply, I got inquisitive with the reviews. Buti na lanh nagbasa ako. Most of the people who ordered were complaining. They were telling that the item was fake, it’s not properly working, it cannot even be used. Money wasted. So when they replied, I told them this.

Sinabi ko lang ang totoo based sa nabasa ko. And so I checked with Lazada and found some item that cost for about Php1,500+. But I was dubious because some seller of Lazada sells fake. Kaya.... I went to Watsons to buy biogesic then I thought of inquiring if meron silang electronic callous remover and ayun! Sakto. The customer assistant demonstrated how it works. Pasado naman. And it’s also a brand that I already trusted kasi i used to have a hair straightener/curler bought from them, JML brand. So this lady epilator costs Phop2,000. Tumatawad pa ako kasi pricey din di ba. Kaso it’s at the mall not palengke hehe. So no avail. Went home. Excited to open the box. And here’s what it has.

I was in loved with what are inside! Ay it’s no surprise na pala since the CA showed to me na haha. I was just happy to show it to my husband. A shaver, a hair trimmer, a callous remover and clipper. Not bad for 2k. We used the callous remover the following day and was happy with how it functioned.

How to Pass the Civil Service Exam

Dahil last passenger na naman si Mama Dhy and dahil I am sitting again here beside the driver (sa aisle ha hehe) and have no comfortable seat and will not be able to take a nap, mag blog na lang ako.

How to pass civil service exam? May mga centers here in the Philippines who offer review. But of course not all of us afford it. Many resort to self review, like me. Uulitin ko., kasi I posted it here already. I took CSE twice. I didn’t make it on my first take. Wala sabi ko kasi madali lang yun eh. Easy peesy (tama ba spelling ko). It was at Sta. Cruz Laguna. Sobrang sakit mga mommy na hindi ako pumasa. I was super depressed. Pero buti na lang hindi ako nagpadaig but instead it became my inspiration, it challenged me to do better. Kaya.... I bought a book, a reviewer a nakalimutan ko na who the author was. And I reviewed seriously. So October exam date of 2002 ata, in Lucena City, my second take, yesssss! I made it! I passed finally. Thank God! Really reviewing helps. Don’t take CSE for granted na porket CSE lang yan eh sisiw yan. It also entails your effort to review and pray. Minsan kahit matalino hindi din pinapalad. So relative to this, I am recommending a book that my blogger friend has authored - my friend Ellen Joy Cayaba. Grabe lang ang galing talaga nya! She now authors a review book! And take note ha, people who bought her books passed! Not 100% maybe but most of them passed! Here is her book!

How to Grow Your Money Through Stock Investment

I honestly was ignorant of stock investment. Thank you to my colleague/friend who made me understand it a bit and made me decide to open an account via COL. And I am learning little by little. It was January 2015 when I opened my COL account with Php5,000 initial deposit. And it's now my 4th anniversary of investing :) Read through here on how you can open an account at COL Financial Philippines. I downloaded forms from their website, filled them out and emailed/faxed including the requirements and I was able to get in. No personal appearance happened. They will respond through email if you missed any of their requirements. They also required me to send the original documents via courier. After that, they emailed me my account number and temporary password. Fast forward to today. I can say that it was a right decision to invest our money in stocks rather than in a bank. Our investment has grown to 63% now. Of course we added funds irregularly (yeah not regularly), in fact the last time we funded was last March 2017. I do trading whenever I have material gain - and never withdraw those gains, hence, growing our money to 63% now. Your savings in bank in the amount of Php30,000 will not give you Php450 quarterly - but in stocks it will. When I bought GLOBE, I received quarterly dividends of P450 (dividends depend on how much number of shares you have - the more, the merrier), and I had it for a year. I sold it when I had a feeling that the price will drop due to the 3rd Telco. And I gained Php6xxx from it :) Going back to my first drooling gain (drooling na sa akin kasi happy na ako sa na gain with just some click of the mouse). The JFC or Jollibee which I bought for 211.xx in January 2015, I bought another shares for different prices. If you would notice in the picture below, hindi pa ako marunong to buy that time, basta buy and buy lang ako. Then I sold it at a lower price on April 23, 2015 so my loss ako. Then shunga lang to buy again at almost the same price the following day. Then on December 23, 2016 - the price dropped at P186.xx, I had a chance to buy more shares - na nagpababa ng average price ko. My average market price then for JFC was P206. Then sold it last January 25, 2018 at Php290 - and I gained Php10,xxx! So happy happy na ko dyan. Sharing with you my monitoring sheet - I maintain an excel file of all the stocks I have.

I bought again JFC last July 2018 for Php247 - and sold it at Php324 with gain of Php7K..... Those gains are invested again. Kaya yan, my investment has grown to that percentage. Investing in stocks is not always a sure win. I am not an expert though, but I am okay with trading with little gain. Sometimes the market is low - making your portfolio bloody red.... And I am more than happy seeing my port all in green - market high tayo ngayon mga ateng.... Look at that 87.86% gain, ang saya di ba (naglalaro pa yan minsan at 94.xx%)? I don't have plan of selling that stock though. Because I bought it at almost an IPO and the price is really increasing. Baka maging milyon na yan someday hehe so long-term sya for now. So if you want to grow your money, invest in stocks and learn how to trade :) ask me how! (chos) But of course, savings will stay for emergency purposes naman. A Peek of Our Baby Boy in My Womb

Sadly - the outcome of Pampanga Women's Ultrasound Center is not as wonderful as In My Womb :( I was expecting to be somehow like that but it turned out not. Here's why...

Last April 15 2016, I decided to have my 4D ultrasound done at Pampanga Women's Ultrasound Center, since also I was also taking a leave that day. We were at Robinsons Starmills (Pampanga) at around 10:55. I registered and was queue 13. When we arrived, the ultrasound has just started according to the assistant, so we just prowled around first while waiting for my turn. Came 11:30, we went back to the clinic and still number 1. Tired of walking, we went to the foodcourt and wait there. While waiting, I thought of processing my passport renewal - so we processed it first (so fast) - read my post I'm Priority.

Passport renewal was done by 1:30PM. We went back to the clinic and check what number was - and yay, number 7! Tic tac tic tac, hours passed by - patients were taking too long before getting accommodated. My husband almost lost his temper - we waited for almost 3 hours before our turn! Too long. I had no choice but to wait - yun lang kasi ang nag iisang ultrasound clinic with 3D/4D :( I can't go back to In My Womb because I want Jay and Jhaydii see baby tummy.

And my turn now - the assistant called me and have me lied on the bed to prepare my session. I waited for about 5 minutes before the scanning began.The OB started the scanning and fast forward to the 3D/4D. She told me that the position of our baby isn't good for a profile shot and that I have less fluid on head part. But she said she'd try. She saved scans of I think 9, but I only was satisfied to the 2 shots. Here it is - he's smiling :D

And here's Jhaydii's shot at In My Womb Mall of Asia compared to Kiehl.

My session took for about 30 minutes. I only had 3D, because baby's position is not good for a 4D. Their 3D costed Php850 and will add Php100 for every picture printed. So I paid a total of Php1,050.00

Now - why I'm not happy and satiated with the result? I compared it to In My Womb. In In My Womb (Mall of Asia), the picture is clearer and the print has a design on it. You'll also not need to wait that long. Also - they accommodate 24 to 32 weeks unlike in Pampanga, you need to be 28th to 30th week pregnant before having the 3D/4D ultrasound. And I also think that in In My womb, the OBs are more than expert to give patients a better and satisfactory still and moving pictures and video. Read my post A Glimpse of What's In My Womb. Yun nga lang it's pricey than in Pampanga - but it's okay if you'd have a very satisfactory result right?

Nevertheless - still was happy because my husband and JD were able to see our baby boy.... So thank you PWUC ;) 10 more weeks!

Last May 19, 2019 - last hurray before summer ends, we went to one of the resorts in Bataan. Besides exposing ourselves to the sun, it also turned to be my maternity shoot! Celebrating InayDear’s 60th Birthday

Last June 2, we celebrated InayDear’s 60th birthday in advance. This is to make sure that I can attend to it, my tummy was 37 weeks already during that day. I filed my leave a month earlier than my EDD para nga di agad ako makaanak and to be present in this celebration. Nakisama naman si baby tummy. I didn’t give birth agad, just felt so heavy lang that time kasi ang laki na ng tyan ko. Okay.... Celebration. Inay didn’t want to have any party at all, but we insisted and we already had a plan. We gave Tatay a party so it’s her turn naman. Inay was thinking of the expenses because sabay sabay nga, and I also will be giving birth. Nagshare share naman kami ng mga brothers ko to make it happen. So came June 2 and we held the party emotionally. We had a surprise! Our brother who is in Saudi came home to surprise Inay. He arrived on May 27, stayed in our brother’s home in Sariaya, away from our home in Tiaong. He only appeared talaga nung birthday ni Inay. The party had 20 dances and it was the time when our brother came. Nakakaiyak din naman. We felt how Inay was so happy kissing and hugging our brother as she was crying. Everyone was also crying. Ang saya talaga kapag hindi na i spoil ang sorpresa, very effective and nakaka touch. It also had 20 candles and 20 balloons.

So finally we have a family picture na complete kami. Gonna blow this one up kahit na kung saan saan kami nakatingin hahaha.

So thankful ako to my two brothers who helped me made this celebration a success. Also thank you to Tiya Neneng and Tiya Nympha for the lechon, Ate Ria for the coffee jelly, Ate Neth for the cake and Joice for being the emcee and turned the celebration even more memorable and fun. Also thank you to all the visitors who came to witness as Inay turns 60 years young. We most especially thank God for giving her another healthy life. Thank you God for all your wonderful blessings to my family. Please keep us all safe from harm and sickness. Inay, thank you for everything that you had and have done for us. For doing your best just to provide for our family. I witnessed all your hardships, all your sacrifices that is why at a young age, I dreamed of doing my best to uplift our family's financial condition. Thank you for always backing us up, for supporting our dreams. Thank you for always being there especially now that we have our own families. These words are not enough to express how much we love you. We also would like to apologize for the wrong doings we may had, dala ng kabataan :) Enjoy your life Inay now that you are a senior citizen. Enjoy serving the Lord in all your time. Just be safe all the time, you and tatay.

Baby Thirdy’s Baby Shower

A month before my EDD or expected delivery date, I decided to take my maternity leave. I was on my 35th week of pregnancy then. This was to avoid being stressed by everyday commute from and to Pampanga for 2 to 3 hours. Yes, again, I was travelling or commuting when I report for work in Pasay that made me more tagtag sa byahe. Besides to that, I need not to deliver early so I avoided more tagtag, because we're going to celebrate Inay's 60th birthday in Tiaong Quezon. And on May 15th, I was given a baby shower by my new team :) Was so surprised and happy to see the bonggang decorations and the effort of the team. Honestly, it was the best baby shower I had in my entire life in ACS/Xerox/Conduent - with my three pregnancies. Imagine 3 na babies ko. Thank you so much to General Accounting team who organized this baby shower, galing galing!
