The Ernat Family

Disney 2015

2015-08-09T19:26:00.000-07:00

We are back from Disney! It was a lot of fun! We left on a great note, which is always good. The kids were not ready to leave, but it's always nice to come home. We are exhausted, but slowly coming back to life ;-)

A little glimpse of our vacation! (but I have a lot of pictures to go through!)

This was breakfast with Cinderella!

Seven Dwarfs Mine train...Grey LOVED everything he went on! He loves rides and we were very surprised with Sailor too!

Tales with Belle....Sailie got the part of 'Chip'....it was too cute!

And a little Splash mountain for Nate and Grey!

Just another pool day...

2015-07-31T18:57:00.002-07:00

We've been taking advantage of the sunny weather and filling up our afternoons at the pool!

Sailor has made major progress with swimming this summer.....she's come a long way. She loves her goggles!

Grey was a little mad at me here.....he said he was blamed for something that Sailie did - haha! Oh sibling love;-)

Grey has been doing a lot of skateboarding lately. Nate and him have been making their way to the skate park a lot. Always hydrate!

And some exciting news:
We are going to DISNEY WORLD!!!! We surprised the kids this week. They are sooooo excited and so are we! I ran to school the morning we decided to tell them, grabbed some construction paper and made this mickey countdown for them.

It was like Christmas morning at our house! So much fun!

Happy Friday!

Weekending...

2015-07-13T09:11:00.002-07:00

My brother and his family came up for the weekend. We enjoyed the carnival, grilling out, and the girls had a little eyebrow party.

Let me fill you in a bit about the eyebrows ;-) In highschool I used to pluck my eyebrows - that was the thing to do...NOW - looking back - why in the hell did I do that?!? I NEVER pluck my eyebrows....My favorite hair dresser and good friend - Abbie - 'shapes' them for me from time to time but that's about it....Anyway, I'm always up to try new things in the make-up department....and my sister-in-law was telling us about this stuff she uses from sephora. By the way, I LOVE sephora! It's called Anastasia. It's just like eyeshadow but it's filler for your brows and you also need the brush. I also use 'gimme brow' from sephora which works really good too! All of us girls sat around my mom's kitchen table and Georgia went around and did all of our eyebrows -ha! It was fun! I wish I had pics of it but I don't...

Ok, back to this post....here are some pics from our weekend at the 'carnie'...

a little face painting for Jayne girl...

It's hilarious how much Giuliana loves roller coasters...She has NO FEAR!!!

Grammy Ann was a trooper....she didn't feel very good after this.... ;-)

Papa Mike won the kids a few stuffed animals...l

And of course, ya can't go to a carnival without eating a funnel cake! YUM!

The summer fun continues!

Grey is doing a fun and fitness camp this week with his friends. Sailor was already crying this morning when he left because she misses him. It might be a long week for sister ;-)

Happy Monday...

Enjoying....

2015-07-12T05:26:00.001-07:00

footie pajamas in July...(ok not sure if 'enjoying' is the right word but I do find it amusing ;-)

finding a big beetle bug on the patio....Sailor wouldn't get close to take a look......

this really cute art book that Sailor got for her birthday from a friend....it's Melissa and Doug and it's adorable!

Yoga on the patio and in our swimsuit is even better ;-)

snuggling with daddy before he has to go to work....

my flowers...they make me smile....

vanilla wafers dipped in cool whip....Grey came up with this concoction and they were yummy...

and I always enjoy seeing this girl's outfit picks....haha! And this would be Sister putting on a jacket in July as well!

What have you been enjoying?!

Slip~N~Slide Fun...

2015-07-09T08:20:00.001-07:00

This was a few weeks back, but since I'm on a role right now, I thought I would post it...

Just some fun with our neighbor on a bright, sunny, summer day!

Happy Thursday!

Our 4th of July Weekend...

2015-07-08T10:27:00.002-07:00

We enjoyed a family reunion, fireworks, a couple parties, and of course good friends! We may or may not have had a visit from a police man at the party telling our group we couldn't light any more fireworks off. ;-) (what the heck - it was the 4th of July)

We ended the weekend on Sunday with the drive in! Sailor maybe lasted the first 15 minutes of the movie and then was ~~drooling~~ out like a light.

Our weekend in pictures:

Wanna glo stick?

These would be Grey's cousins- Nate on the left and Porter on the right....they were home from California for the reunion. I was so proud of Grey because he was so good to these little boys and they loved him.

Papa Davey tied a swing to the tree and the kids had a blast with it....

Dee Dee bought this antique rocking horse at a sale over the weekend...We were makin' deals;-)

Saturday morning....my parents brought these two with them to a 4th of July mass at church....they both needed it -haha!

And...that's a wrap...

(Hopefully this coming weekend won't involve any police for us - haha!)
It's the middle of the week - only 2 more days to go! Happy Wednesday Folks!

Happy 4th Of July from the Ernat Kids!

2015-07-03T04:17:00.000-07:00

I'm just popping in to post some pictures of my 6 year old and my 4 year old! Time is flying!

Summer is flying by like it usually does. We are filling our days with visits to the library, bike rides, parks, the pool (when it's not raining), and lots of time outside. Sailor just turned 4 on June 29th, so we bought her and Grey a trampoline. They have been on it constantly with the neighbor kids. I hope it lasts!

I also started a house project a couple weeks ago and the family room and hallway are done. We ripped out carpeting and had wood flooring installed. I LOVE how it turned out! I have so many projects in mind for this house, so I will tackle one at a time.

Other than that, we are looking forward to the holiday weekend. I love the 4th of July. We even got an early start on fireworks at Sailie's birthday party! Nate and his dad are like kids in a candy shop with fireworks.

Also, have you seen those water balloons that you attach to the hose and they fill up and 'break' off when they are ready? We did them for Sailor's birthday party and let me tell you - THEY ARE AWESOME! Well worth the money! So, if you are looking for some fun for the kids - go get them! They are the cheapest at Walmart.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!! Get out and light some sparklers!

Easy Baking...

2015-07-02T08:47:00.002-07:00

My kids love to help me in the kitchen and here is one they can totally do.

What you need:
1 bag of mini pretzels
1 bag of rolos
1 bag of pecans
1 cookie sheet

1. Preheat your oven to 350.
2. Then the 'hardest' part - unwrap your rolos or my grandma buys the ones that are already unwrapped.

3. Place pretzels all over your cookie sheet and place a rolo on top of each pretzel.

4. Put cookie sheet into oven and bake for 3 minutes. When done, take them out.
5. While they are still warm, push a pecan down on top of rolo.

6. I just transfer mine to wax paper and let them cool.

They are so good! They just pop in your mouth. They can be addicting.

Then I just put them in a Tupperware container once they are cool or put them on a plate and serve!

We just did them this morning! They are all done and my kitchen is cleaned up! I'm a busy mom so I'm all about EASY!

Give them a try!

Sailor is 4!

2015-07-02T07:29:00.003-07:00

My little girl turned 4! We had a princess party for her complete with pizza, cake, water balloons, fireworks, and all her friends. It was a success!

Sailor will start her 2nd year of pre-school this year! She is a TOTAL GIRLY GIRL. Loves any type of jewelry, loves to have her nails painted, and loves to wear dresses and sunglasses. Her favorite princess right now is Belle, but she loves ALL of them.

Her favorite person in the whole wide world is her big brother, Grey! And, people, I canNOT even begin to tell you how good he is to her. He puts up with a lot - haha! And always shares with her, hugs on her, and plays with her. Seriously, not typical, but that's how it is around here and has been since day 1. Sure, they have their occasional sibling spats, but it's usually because of her!

She loves school and her teachers. I laughed at her 'report' card because they said that Sailor is always the 'helper' at school. She's shy, but always helpful. We refer to her as the 'mudder' (mother) to her cousin Giuliana, because she's always helping her and showing her the ropes. I guess she told someone in her class she could tie his shoes for him and yet the girl can't tie her own - haha!

She is still NOT a fan of the pool or swimming. This is actually starting to bother me because Grey has been jumping off the board since he was 2! The only way she's ok is if she can 'reach'. I have tried floaties, rings, and recently just pulled her in with me (yes she had a mind snap)....she continues to sit on the steps wherever we go. So, I will continue to work on this, because I do think that every kid needs to know how to swim. Very important!

She loves riding her bike. We still have training wheels on there, but she thinks she's a big wig with those things.

She has to do everything on her own! I LOVE to do her hair in the morning, but she complains if it takes too long ;-)

She's a complete riot, but still very cautious. She has to know what's going on before she 'jumps' into it. I wonder where she gets that from? (of course, NOT from me;-)

She changes outfits probably 3 or 4 times a day....and her shoes - well that's a whole other story.

This child of mine is a complete joy. We love you to the moon Tootie! How can you be 4?

Happy Birthday Baby!

Family Pictures...

2014-05-14T14:21:00.003-07:00

Nate asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day and the only thing I truly wanted were pictures done with my family. We were supposed to get them done in the Fall but things just got away from me. I thought I would share them with you.

I absolutely love them. I wanted us in creams and just a really soft look. I'm so happy with them, but now I have to put my order in and I can't decide...

Phil McConville and his wife Andrea McConville with McConville Studio did our pictures. They are fabulous.

Just a "few" of my favorites......

Easter Egg coloring...

2014-04-15T14:53:00.001-07:00

Sunday we decided to color some Easter eggs. My kids were so excited about it. I bought some easter egg coloring kits, boiled some eggs and then we headed over to Dee Dee's house. I'm pretty sure we'll do this about 5 more times ;-) so i thought we better get a good start on it. Both of my kids are already asking when we are going to do it again.

Nate was gettin' all fancy ;-)

Nate's 'fancy' egg was a flop - haha!

Dee Dee always puts oil on them when they are done - to give them a nice glazed glow...

Grey and his egg and on mine Nate wrote "bunny poop"....so creative aren't we?!

Enjoying...

2014-04-12T05:53:00.003-07:00

this beautiful weather the past couple days...

Sassy sails...

You can't really tell from this picture but this was a major melt down moment....Sailor wanted a rock Grey had...

And this is still the rock pile by our house from our patio....(yeah it's still there) Who knew a rock pile could be so much fun;)

We have finally made it to Spring Break! Cheers and kisses to that!

My motorcycle dude...

2014-04-06T08:15:00.001-07:00

We Nate got Grey a motorcycle for Christmas. Nate grew up with a dirt bike so he could't wait for Grey to start with one as well. I'm not completely sold yet. My mama heart is worried, but I'm keeping my mouth closed ;-) Anyway, Grey LOVES it and we are amazed with how good he is doing on it.

Giving him some instructions...

In other news, we took down Sailor's crib yesterday. My mom picked up this adorable white wicker set for Sailor at a St. Louis garage sale last year. I've been meaning to set this up for her. I was planning to do it over our spring break but yesterday seemed to be a better time ;-) I had no idea it was a QUEEN size bed frame though. Thank goodness we have big bedrooms.

Sailie was super excited about it...

It's def. not done yet and i will take some more pics. I need to find her bedding. I'm waiting for some to pop out at me and then I'll splurge.

Last night Grey slept with her. They had a little slumber party in her BIG bed.

Happy Sunday!

Life...

2014-04-03T16:24:00.001-07:00

has been a little hard for me lately...I've never really felt like this before and I haven't felt comfortable until now talking about it. And unfortunately, that's just life sometimes. I've been overwhelmed and very anxious. Anxiety is the worst feeling and for me it started in the fall, shortly after Greyson's birthday in November.

At first, I thought what the hell is going on? What's wrong with me? I saw a lot of doctors, had numerous blood tests done and everything came back 'normal'...and so now I sit here and visit this blog where I haven't been in a really long time. I haven't pulled out my camera in months and that makes me sad. I've been taking pictures with my phone but it's not the same. Photography is something I truly enjoy and capturing those little moments in our lives that go so fast are important to me. I need to get back on track and I think I'm doing that but it's been a VERY SLOW process. I have good days and bad days just like we all do and hopefully the good days start outweighing the bad.

I cannot say enough about my family. They have been here for me like no other. They've been very worried and just like always when someone in our clan is down or something is wrong we ALL rally together man and it's something fierce.

It was probably two months ago now, but my mom layed in bed with me for a whole weekend and held me because that's what I needed. As for Nate, he carried on like the wonderful person that he is. Took care of the kids and kept the house going. He was quiet though and I knew he was worried. It's just so Nate...it's hard to explain. I just needed my mom, but he was right there to listen, to watch, to feel what I was feeling and he never said a word he just stepped right in and did whatever he needed to do. Basically to sum it up, my husband is truly an AMAZING person. He just is! And so is MY MOM!

So, basically I'm having some anxiety right now and trying my best to push through it.

Oooooooh, but these two.....talk about a breath of fresh air! Honestly my night just got better when I uploaded these and looked at them.

And of course just because I might be a little anxious right now.....life is still busier than ever...Grey just finished basketball at the Y....and now he's all signed up for Tball this summer and some soccer in the Fall.

As for Sailor, we still need to do potty training. It's def. not her fault. I'm to blame. She's more than ready but I'm not worried about it. She will start pre-school in the Fall and is SOOOO excited! She will also start dance class in August. She's such a girly girl.

That's the thing about life, you never know what's coming. But there's SOOO much good and my two kids help me see that every day.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy Friday!

I'm still ALIVE...

2013-12-11T19:53:00.001-08:00

even though I haven't blogged in forever...here's a start...a few pictures from our breakfast with Santa the other morning...

We're def. in full swing around here and our elf Woody is keeping us all on our toes;-)

But yeah just so you know we're still alive and life has never been busier...

Now if you'll excuse me I have to go pack because Nate and I are off for a little getaway for the next few days in Vail. I'm excited!

A little getaway - Sure, why not?!

Hope all of you have a great rest of the week and a fun weekend!

Greyson's 5th Birthday Party

2013-11-05T04:57:00.001-08:00

Grey is very much into the superheroes right now. However, the ninja turtles are his ultimate favorite. We had our families over and invited the neighborhood kids. Grey told them to come as a superhero. They got creative and looked super cute.

And now picture overload for you...

This was the littlest super hero and she went all out...

MOST of the crew...we have such a wonderful neighborhood...Grey loves all these kids....

We had a couple relay races for the kids, played, made s'mores, and even bobbed for apples!

So, we bobbed for apples and YES Nate was freaking out about germs...so then we put paper clips in the apples and had the kids 'fish' for them....but then a couple of the older kids wanted to put their heads in and then all of them wanted to try it ;-) They LOVED it...and now I can say that my kids have bobbed for apples ;-) (and I haven't heard that any of them got sick...ha!)

It's the little things - right?!

My brother Adam's birthday is the 29th of October and we were so happy they were home....I put both their names on the cake!

We had big pots of soup on the menu - Homeade chicken noodle soup, Homeade Potato soup, and Homeade chili - and all the toppings to go with it, turkey dogs for the kids, and I ordered the cake from Walmart. Not to mention all the appetizers we started with...

Greyson's big gift was a basketball hoop from ALL his grandparents. Not just any basketball hoop - this one -(a goalrilla -Nate found a pretty sweet deal on it though)-so his uncles got him a basketball...We are in the process right now of putting up the hoop. It takes a little bit of time because it has to set in cement and so on... He's a lucky little boy.

Happy 5th Birthday Greyson Lee! We Love you to the Moon!

10K Run today...

2013-11-03T15:50:00.000-08:00

Today was the Canal Connection 10K run. I did good last year, but this year I felt even better and stronger. I remember crashing all day last year and feeling wiped, but not this year. SO, I'm gonna tell myself I'm making progress with my running :-)

I was able to get 6.2 miles under my belt in about 53 minutes today. I'll take that...I started getting a minor sideache but it went away - thank goodness...it was a beautiful morning for a run and the fall colors were awesome...

My good luck charms 'pre' race...

This was right at the beginning of the race...

and this was right at the end of the race...I was just about to cross the finish line when I spotted my family:-)

This is my friend, neighbor, and running buddy Jenny -I LOVE HER!!! We are training together for our 1/2 marathon in March.

and this would be her hubby Mike...he's pretty great as well...

and my family that was there to cheer me on! So thankful! I told them that knowing they are at the finish line waiting for me is what gets me through the race. My parents were both there as well - they had to sneak out a little early...

Carving Pumpkins...

2013-11-03T05:14:00.001-08:00

Sailor LOVED it...Grey joined in here and there, but he was more interested in his basketball. I think the pictures say it all.

Her face says it all...she loved digging out the pulp and seeds...

Nate pulled out his drill this year...it worked pretty good...

We didn't get fancy by any means. In fact, I believe Nate's exact words were - "Leesh, take a picture of our pumpkin throwing up."

I know, aren't we artistic ?-ha!

Just some goofin' around and posin' for the camera...love my kids:-)

And now I'm off to run a 10K today! It's my second year doing the Canal Connection. It's about 6.2 miles. Wish me luck...I'll be sure to let you know how I do!

Happy Sunday Folks!

Last weekend...

2013-11-02T14:14:00.001-07:00

We took the kids and enjoyed some Halloween fun last weekend, we had a bridal shower for Gina, and we also celebrated Grey's birthday. We had a lot going on. I would be lying if I told you I didn't feel overwhelmed, stressed, and just that over all feeling of "I can't do ALL of this." I've been telling Nate that a lot lately. I know I need to just suck it up because most moms feel this way. Of this, I'm sure. It's just hard sometimes and all I want to be is a good mom as we all do. I think about having another baby ALL the time, but I can't imagine throwing another human being into the mix right now. And believe me I know we just 'do' it and it will happen when the time is right. I think I've been thinking about it more lately because my 'baby' just turned 5. I can't believe I have a 5 year old. I don't know where the past 5 years have gone, but I do know I'm blessed beyond measure and that my special little 5 year old has taught me so much about life.

Last weekend looked a little like this...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gina's bridal shower was lovely. It was a very fun/girly kind of day (MY favorite kind ;-) Oh and a lot of wine was there;-)
At first, we told Sailor to smile by saying - "show us your teeth" - that's why she's doing this...

This is our big New Year's Eve wedding we are getting ready for - I.CAN'T.WAIT!

And once again - we try ;-)

Happy Saturday!

Happy Birthday Greyson!

2013-11-02T05:16:00.000-07:00

I'm stopping in today to wish my son a Happy Birthday! This little guy started motherhood for me and I am so thankful.

Greyson, I wish you the happiest of birthdays today! Today you turn 5! I am so blessed to have you as my son.

Happy Birthday sweet angel of mine...

Love you Forever buddy!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Halloween...

2013-10-26T06:57:00.001-07:00

This year I have a Ninja Turtle and a pretty Flower Fairy up in da' house!!! We are off to enjoy some halloween fun today and then later we are celebrating Greyson turning 5!(gasp-when did that happen?)

Have a great Saturday!

Fall and ALL things random...

2013-10-14T14:24:00.005-07:00

Along with Fall comes Homecoming and along with that comes the parade and let's face it...parades make kids happy (for the most part)....so we grabbed our halloween bags and off we went...

I hurried home after school...and picked up my crew...

The loud noises scared sister a little...so she stayed close to daddy.

Who gets a stuffed animal thrown to them at a parade??? Well, Sailor does I guess ;-) It's not what ya know it's who ya know...

they waved and they waved and they waved...hoping for some good candy...and let me tell you those little smiles worked wonders...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

My dear friend and cousin was in town a few weeks back...she lives in Arizona.....so we got to visit with them and her little guy Gio.....we ordered food and the kids ran around....it was so nice to catch up...

Gio is sooooo adorable...he's not quite 2 yet...Sailor loved having someone 'littler' than her around...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These were some moments I caught over our weekend...we took the kids to a fall festival on Sunday....

My sweet boy or should I say my sweet ninja? Either one works right now.

she's already dancin' around poles (totally kidding)

Nate made me take Sailor's ring off last night. We have not taken it off since I put it on her which who knows how long ago that was...it was looking a little tight around those chubby fingers....a little soap and it came right off....now I must find her another one that fits ;-)

they went on a muscle 'kick' for some reason...

Sailor said - "Mama yook...I showin' you my muscles!"

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And we had some fun in the kitchen today....we made some hallween jello jigglers...the kids enjoyed it...

it's their 'after' dinner treat tonight...

Happy Monday Friends!

Lots of Fall talk...

2013-09-24T17:04:00.000-07:00

So, Fall is here...we have birthdays to plan, Halloween costumes to think about, decorations to put up, and maybe some new Fall pieces to add to my wardrobe ;-) Oh and more boots;-) You can never have enough boots - right?!

Grey reminds me everyday that Halloween is coming. My kid likes Halloween. We are trying to decide what he should be. Every store we go into he asks -"Mommy can we look at the costumes?" Sure, why not!

We are also well aware that Fall school fundraising has started. Everyday I've had some little kid knocking at my door trying to sell me something. So, because of this we have some bread braids/rolls coming, Grey is getting a sports illustrated for kids subscription, and I have a year worth of People (style watch) on its way. ha! We must support our local schools.

I'm looking forward to the fall and holiday season. I'm usually up for an adventure....and by adventure I mean we will be taking in some area football games, one BIG college game we are excited about, make a trip to the pumpkin patch or two, and lots of other big things coming our way for our family.

My brother is getting married on New Year's Eve so we are ALL very excited about this and planning has been long underway for quite some time and now it all seems to be coming together. All 4 of us are in it and we've been prepping Grey and Sailie.

But, for now I'll leave you with what the past week or so has looked like up in here:

This little pout face has been a stinker - let me tell you - Tantrums and Fits galore but we're managing.

Enjoying our patio...

Loving some night time football...

Greyson is obsessed with sports. He has started soccer thru the Y. It's just practices to get him started.

This was his first practice two weeks ago...Sailie, Dee Dee, and I were front and center. And last week, Sailor even brought her harmonica and played for Grey when he kicked the ball. That was a sight.

And while we have a sports fanatic around I also have a Princess. It's the perfect balance for me:-)

And so in closing here we are kickin' off Fall.....we started with a visit to the pumpkin patch. Naturally my daughter has a mouthful of food - haha!

Warm cinnamon doughnuts were calling our names and so were some really BIG pumpkins...

Horse swingin' boy...

Sister running thru the tunnel to get her brother...

Looking for "gold" according to Grey...

I'm not gonna burst his bubble - but they're just rocks ;-) But, I'm pretty sure he knows that now...

Annnnnddddd that's a wrap...

I think it's only appropriate to wish you and yours a Happy Fall!

Wednesday...Where we're at...

2013-09-11T06:03:00.000-07:00

The heat is still going strong, but it's supposed to let up here after today. Maybe Fall will be on its way soon. The early outs at school have been nice, but I think I'm ready for jeans, boots, and sweaters :-)

So, until then, we skateboard...

Mama might skateboard too - NOT! (the other day after school)

And since it was so hot and Grey wanted to be outside, we pulled out the water guns...

But then they came after me....

I think Sailor is feeling better, but I don't wanna say it out loud...(I think her eyes still look sick...)

Corduroy is always a good read at our house...

The tickle monster gets her every time...

Grey was still playing outside with all the kids, so Sailie enjoyed a nice bubble bath all to herself.

My boys got haircuts...Grey didn't like his at first but he's getting used to it...

and Sister just being her spunky little self...

Happy Wednesday!

2013-09-09T17:23:00.001-07:00

I have to be honest...I've seen better days. I believe the exact words that came out of my mouth were "this is a sucky day." But, I didn't want it to be a pity party so I excepted it and 'trucked' along. What else was I gonna do, right?

Greyson and Sailor are both sick right now. Sailor had a fever on Saturday, so I was thinking that Sunday was gonna be the same thing. So, Sunday morning came and I headed to the Y bright and early. My mom and dad popped in and brought me balloons and presents. My mom was the first to say I should take her to quick care. We heard a little rattle in her throat/chest and she was acting pretty lethargic by this point. I quickly showered, my parents took Grey, and Sailor and I headed to quick care. Dr. told me there that he thought it might be bronchitis and that I needed to go to the Emergency room where she could have a nebulizer treatment.

I was kind of worked up by this point just because of ALL of it...so I head to the hospital where they CANNOT find the order from the Dr. for Sailor to have this treatment done. Well about a half hour later I realized I was at the WRONG hospital. So, instead of continuing to give the nurse and receptionist dirty looks and thinking - what the hell is wrong with these people - I stood up - told them I was at the wrong place and left. - DUHH! The whole way to the RIGHT hospital I kept saying "sailie mommy is so sorry - I know you just wanna go home baby"....because all she kept saying as she was crying was -"mommy home...mommy home" (it might have been at this point when the pity party started - i was having a sucky day and it was my birthday)

So, I get to the hospital, check-in and Sailor sits like an angel and lets them do whatever to her. Her not moving and letting them take her temp (under the tongue), look in her throat with a stick, listen to her chest, and then let them give her a breathing treatment - well all of that alone tells you I had a pretty sick babe. Once the treatment was over, it did seem to help break all that yucky stuff up. We came straight home after that and Sailor went to sleep. She was wiped. She woke up all sweaty and her fever did break.

I was supposed to go to the grocery store yesterday but I just didn't have it in me. So, we went today after school. Both kids seem to be feeling better. I just want these coughs to go away.

We ordered dinner last night and my parents and Nate's parents came over. My mom baked me an angel food cake (one of my favorites) and we all sang Happy Birthday! I guess I can say now that even though my day didn't start out the way I had envisoned...it ended on a much better note.

When I uploaded these pictures tonight all I could feel was blessed and thankful. Thankful for my family today and always.

(neither one of my kids look too sick here, but believe me hours before this it was a different story...)

thinking how lucky I am to have this little girl...and praying she is feeling better...

Here's to another year and (healthy kids) - Yes.Cheers to that!

Happy Monday!
