Well it's been a really long time since we've gotten around to updating this thing. Here's what you missed! (or what you didn't miss, but what we forgot to blog about..):

Downtown For Japan Benefit

The benefit had a great turn out! I remember talking to Johnny Q at some point about a headcount of over 200. The t-shirts they were selling looked pretty sick too, so we made sure to get on that shit.

It was our first time playing Fulton 55, and it's a beautiful venue! At the time, none of us were 21 yet, so we were only able to stay for our set. Either way, it was pretty tight yo.

Our EP Release House Show

In early may, we had our EP Release house show in Sanger. Everyone who came out received a copy of the new EP, "Cosas". We kept count of everyone who came in, and we managed to squeeze over 100 heads in my living room at some point! If you missed out on the show, you can check out the CD on our bandcamp page. If you like it, you can download it for just $3. There's also a free track up there, called "Hummingbird".

Blake Jones and The Trike Shop Bon Voyage/Birthday Show

The day after our EP Release house show (Mother's Day), we played at Fulton 55 again. This time, with a few bands we hadn't shared the stage with for nearly 2 years. Blake Jones and The Trike Shop have always been supportive of what we do, and it was great to finally meet them. They have definitely helped us out with a few gigs here and there in the past.

Now, for more recent news.. Coming up this Friday, we'll be playing our first Los Angeles gig. I haven't seen any official flyer, but here's what you'll see on the website of the folks who booked us.

We'll be playing a showcase at the CIA in Burbank. This place looks creepy as shit, but it'll probably be a fun show! Check out their website, for real.. Along with getting to play in one of California's most unique venues, we'll walk away with a legit video of our set, as well as an interview of the band. A little setback for us is that Tyler has already begun his tour with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets. Once again, he'll be touring the U.S. the next couple months until mid-August. No worries! We'll still be giggin'. Our buddy, Julian, is filling in on bass while Tyler's away. You may remember him from when he subbed for our Starline show back in March.

Last week's show at the Bel-Tower went pretty good. Nothing too too crazy, but it was a good time. I was really diggin' the Boats set! Great band. The Milford Higgins guys also played a great set. I'm sure the other bands played well, but I was only able to catch these two bands.

This Thursday, we'll be playing at Fulton 55 for the first time. Johnny Q hit us up about playing a Japan Benefit, and we were immediately down. Last year's Rock 4 Haiti Benefit went so well, we're glad to help out again this year. 100% of the door goes to The Red Cross, so you will not want to miss this. If you can't make it to the show, please donate either way-- if you haven't already. This is gonna be a sick show. All you have to do is look at the line-up of bands playing.. Can't wait! March 24th @ The Bel-Tower

Our last show on Friday night went pretty sweet! We've played The Starline a few times in the past, but this was one of my favorites there. The crowd was alright-- as far as numbers go, the bands were all great, but what surprised me the most was how attentive the crowd was. Most of the time, when we've played The Starline, we weren't headlining or anything, and sometimes people didn't really care to listen for whatever reason. This time was different. It was nice to see everyone in there listening, watching, and bobbing their heads to our stuff. It felt good knowing the crowd respected us and we had a great time!

On another note, our friend, Julian, has been subbing in on bass for us! As mentioned a few blogs ago, Alex had originally intended to sub for us, but he recently got a job. So the whole work schedule thing was clashing. Julian did a great job, and we're glad to have him on board. You'll likely see him subbing for another show of ours in the future.

Back to the Starline show.. Although we were kicked out for being under 21, we were able to watch the first act, I Do Not Exist. These cats were sick! We were definitely diggin' their tunes. We actually plan on having them play at our upcoming EP Release! (BTW, we'll be announcing details on that stuff soon!) If you haven't already heard them, I highly suggest you check them out.

OK. Now that I got that out of the way, I can tell you about our upcoming show on March 24th. Boats is touring all the way from Canada, and will be headlining. They're signed with Kill Rockstars, and I can see why. These guys sound great! Definitely check it out. The other bands playing are Skyway Mags, We Scream Jackson, & The Milford Higgins. The Milford Higgins are tighttt. We've played a show or two with them in the past, and I can tell ya they're nice guys. The other two bands, I haven't had the chance to see. It should be a very promising show, either way!

If you're free Thursday night, there's no reason you shouldn't come out. It's only $5, and it's ALL AGES. Show starts at 6! Tell all of your friends about it!

March 18th @ The Starline

We haven't played any shows since the end of January, and we definitely got that itch to get up and do shit! Well, we have one coming up real soon. Our good friends from The Dirty Sanchez invited us to play the show with them a few weeks ago, just like old times. Many of you may not know this, but back in 2009, we played some of our first shows with them. They have always been supportive of our music, and always sing along to "Primavera" on the rare instances that we play it...

On another note, our friend, Cristobal Carrillo, drums for The Dirty Sanchez. He and Israel Flores are both co-founders of the Spanspek Music and Arts Festival. You've probably heard about it. It's been going down every year, since 2006, in Orosi, CA. We've had the privilege of playing there in 2009, as well as the year before (but with a different lineup and under a different name). In fact, we were mentioned in their "Most Memorable Performances" blog, recently! Check out the blog, as well as their Facebook page. It's a great way to support local music in our community.

Back to the show info. The gig will take place at The Starline, in Fresno. The Dirty Sanchez will be headlining, and other bands include I Do Not Exist, and Pawn. We haven't had the chance to watch or perform with either of the two groups, so we're excited and looking forward to it. We have a Facebook Event page up for it, so be sure to invite your friends!

We hope you folks (who are 21+) can come out and watch us next week. It's been a while, and we want your lovin' all night long.

Sub Bassist

We recently got word that Tyler, our bassist, is going to be doing Winter Percussion for Santa Clara Vanguard this winter and spring. He's also going to be doing drum corps, touring with the Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets this summer as well. Which means we wouldn't be able to play with him much for a good 6 months until August! Well, we came up with a solution! Our good friend, Alex Hinojosa, is going to be subbing on bass for Tyler while he's away! If he looks a little familiar, he should. Yeah, he's that guy who's at all of our shows. The guy that usually ends up with his pants pulled down by the end of our set..

Leave some love for Tyler, and wish him luck! Also, welcome Alex into the band! He'll be playing at our next show on March 18th, at the Starline in Fresno. More details on that show coming up soon!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend. We had a good Friday. Does that count as the weekend? We played at Club Retro, Friday night, and I must say it was a good show. For not practicing as often as we'd like to, everything sounded great. Nice place they got there. Even though the Christian vibe is very obvious, they're very accommodating and respectful toward everyone!

ALSO our dear friend, Kevin Figueroa, took some nice pictures of us a few weeks ago. We met up with him at Hotel Burgess in Reedley, CA, climbed onto the roof, and did our thang. They came out great! This guy is truly an artist, and an all around nice person. Check out some of his other work! He takes pictures and video for a blog called Arroz y Frijoles! Good stuff. He also has a badass tumblr page called Espumoso Figueroa!

Club Retro Show

It's been a while since we've last played a gig at Fresno's Club Retro. We hopped on the venue's bill with some friends for a show about a year ago, and that place was pretty legit! Recently, we were asked to play there again on Friday, January 28th. Only this time, we were approached by these kool cats at Afton.com. It's like a group of booking reps from all around the country, which is pretty sweet, since it's free and there are absolutely no strings attached. (BTW, if you or anyone you know might want some help getting some shows going, you can sign up here!)

Anywho, the bill is hella packed with 8 bands, including "Driven Cure," "Seven Ate Nine," "Kinship," "Rise Before the Fall," and more! All of us have been selling presale tickets and it's looking to be a super good turnout! I know we haven't been playing very many venue shows lately, but we want to make it count when we do! We'll party just as hard as any house show! If you and your friends want to come dance, party, and chill with us, we're selling presales for just $9!
