This week we have the privilege of being visited by Giles Moon, the head of music curation at Julien’s Auctions, who gives us the inside scoop of the upcoming Music Icons auction, which takes place May 29-30 at the Hard Rock Cafe Times Square in New York City. The sale features nearly 700 items from icons such as Johnny Cash (the guitar he played at his Grand Ole Opry debut in 1956), Ace Frehley (many items including his main Les Paul), Elvis Presley (a stage-used microphone), many Beatles items (including a table and chair set owned by Ringo Starr), a large collection of original paintings by Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood, and many more rare and iconic items.

The series for the MCU’s newest title character, Wonder Man dropped earlier this year. It tells the story of Simon Williams as he navigates the Hollywood scene in an attempt to land his dream roll. His secret: that he has super powers in a world that mistrusts them. In this episode we discuss the first season of this new series. We talk about the portrayals of Simon and his friend, Trevor Slattery. We examine the plot and and get into our feelings of how the series is paced, its themes are developed, and whether it serves the characters. Along the way we also debate the merits of how the series depicted actors, daily life in the MCU, and the role of a super-powered individual in society. We also question the role of the Department of Damage Control and what its exact mandate is supposed to be.

Our five-minute controversy this time asks if selling the MST3K franchise to Shout Studios was the right move for the franchise.

A trip to a mining planet to gather information goes predictably awry when Trip and Archer are captured and have to escape with the help of the only live Xindi they’ve ever met. Meanwhile, Trip is having trouble sleeping and Phlox decides to trick him into getting T’Pol to help him.
