We are making 14 blocks and mailing them to one another. Each person will receive all their blocks during that time frame. This is going to be a great project for all of us, beginners & advanced seamstresses.

HERE IS WEEK 1-

Start with an 8x8 square of parchment paper. This will just be used as a guid of how big your square is.

Cute your fabric into 1-2 inch strips.

Sew your strips together. Right sides together.

Iron it open

Continue sewing all the strips together. Then you may cut your block into quarters, then sew them together ones again.

This is the finished block and pkg being mailed.

I liked it the first few days of using it, but after that I was not impressed anymore. I did tell myself to keep trying it. So I did. I have days that I like it, but most the time my hands still feel oily and so does my dish cloth. I some times have too change dish cloths almost every time I did a load of dishes. I like my dish cloths to last at least the full day, before i toss it with the towels to be washed. Yes it is eco friendly! But no worth 5.00$, in my eyes.

I saw it at the Knitting Shop here in town, and i loved it. So when I saw it as a free patter on Ravelry I snatched it up. So I sat down to start knitting it, thinking this is going to be way advanced for me. But you know something? I wasn't not at all. It did take me about an hour to understand the patter, but after that I was ready to go. So I caste on and started working. When I got the the turn part I was a little lost, but when you turn it you start a NEW ROW. AHHA I figured out the pattern. Every time you turn your work you start a new row. After that it was really easy to do. I just have to remember to count my rows!

Prepare cake mix. Pour half the cake mix in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Then bake in the oven for 15 min. In the mean time measure the evaporated milk, pour it into a sauce pan. Add your Carmel pieces the sauce pan. Allow time to melt. Take cake out of oven and pour Carmel pieces over that cake, then pour the remainder batter over that. Cover with nuts and chocolate pieces. Bake another 15-35 min. The cake may seem a little soft in the center. And that’s ok.

I got this recipes from a Fundraiser Book, you cant buy it any were that I know of. Anyhow this cake is really good! It is easy to make. As long as you have the carmel pieces with out the wrappers, other wise it takes forever to take all the wrappers off. That's when you get the kids help! I would only have them help you with mixing the cake, and taking the wrappers off the carmel pieces. This is a fun cake to make and to eat. I have yet to try it with peanut butter pieces yet.

The link below has a different verity of making this same cake

You can allow your kids to help. You can melt the butter before hand int he microwave, and allow it to cool so that your kids can help. I used 2 cans of filling 1 apple and 1 cherry. I put one on one side and the other on the other side, so it was like having 2 different deserts. This would be a great cake with you desert. You could take it ready to bake when you get to your friends or family's dinner party. Or you can take it already baked off.

I did find a few patter mess ups. It was pretty easy for me to do and finish. I did find a few mistakes in the pattern. it says to work row 1- 11st of the Rib pattern then 12 st in the Horse Shoe Cable twice, then 11st of the Rib again. But that will leave you will left over stitches. So you should work it like this, row 1- 11st in the Rib pattern 12st in the Horse Shoe Cable 11st in the Rib 12st in the Horse Shoe then 11 in the Rib. I also found this mistake. Row 2 the Cable pattern, also leaves off two stitches, so the last two should be p2 since the first 2 were p2 you should end with p2. Plus all even rows were started and ended with purl. I also only needed 3 hanks of Berroco Peruvia Quick (100g) the pattern asks for 4.

This movie is a great movie to teach your kids what happens if you don't recycle or take care of our earth. My 3 year old son sat threw the whole movie at the theater even after he told me he had to use the rest room. He still sat and watched the movie. He still talks about Wall-E and EVA. He tells me "Mama we can buy it." he doesn't he has to wait until Nov. 18th for it to come out on DVD or Blue Ray.

Now my mother on the other hand thinks that this movie is way to violent and that little kids should not be watching this movie. With her first book written and published, people already can not wait for her 2nd book in the series 'Sisters of the Heart'. If you are a PaperBackSwap member there are already 50+ wishers for the book 'Wanted' By Shelly Sheapard.

About the book 'Hidden' it was a very fast read for me. It did take me a few pages to get into the book. But I am a mom of 2 little boys. Every time I would sit down to read it at night after my kids were put to bed I would read a page and fall right to sleep. But once I started reading the book at my boys nap time I was able to read most the book in a few hours. The book flowed for the most part. It did have some sadness in it, was a little predictable, but still a great fast read. I can not wait to see what is going to happen to Anna and Katie in the next books to come.
