I was contacted by the admin asking for permission to use one of my photographs in their newsletter 'The Storque'. Of course I said yes! And now it runs across the front page of Etsy.com and is the header of an article! :D

Things are changing in a major way, some of it very bad but a lot of it very good. I have a lot of close, old friends who have come back into my life and it's like we never stopped talking for all those years.
Not so good, I almost can't afford my home and have no where to go if I lose it. But I will find a way to make things work. Hopefully I will get some artwork done and up for sale soon. Though I may have to get another job part-time to support myself and keep my house and if that has to happen then I won't have time for art. I do have a new roommate though that is a very near & dear friend.
Although he does not have a job he is making things easier. It's nice to come home to the dishes washed and coffee made. Sweet. He even takes out the garbage when it's nearly full. I have not asked him to do one thing and he has done many. Now just to get him a job and things will be near perfect.
I can't even express how my friends have helped me out in the past few months. I am so very grateful. As hard as things are right now I am able to say, overall, life is good. And fun.
That's what it should be.
Everyone should have friends like mine.

So I don't think I got into the Boston Ahts Festival and that sucks. I am supposed to get an email today if I am in and it's already almost 6.
I haven't been very productive at all because of a recent and MAOR change in my life. I may be moving but I'm not sure yet. Time will tell.
If I move, it's going to be out of state and to either Portland, Oregon or Boston, Massachusetts. Probably more like Boston be again, time will tell.
I hope everyones life if more stable and happier than mine,

Heh, I sold 3 things today! One being my favorite painting right now. I'm sad to see it go but I'm happy someone loved it enough to purchase it. The girl is such a sweetie too. She has a thing for all things Hedwig just like me. :)
I also sold the last metallic print of my photograph A-Z. And a set of my geeky postcards.

Damn, I've been SO busy with work and home improvements that I have not have had time to breathe. I repainted our bedroom and got some new furniture. Next month we are redoing the hardwood floors. I also got a sexy new TV. It's the 46 inch Samsung Touch of Color LCD that had the red bezel. It's so sweet. My living room is now officially a home theater with full surround sound.
I also cleaned out my art studio again and have been working on some stuff. I figure I better get back into the swing of things since I applied for a spot in the Boston ahts Festival come this fall. And if I don't get in then I have a ton of new stuff to list in my Etsy shop. :)
My house is almost under control. All that is left to do is the floors, paint the living room & kitchen and eventually get the bathroom remodeled but I probably won't do that until early next year.
In my little free time I've been perusing Etsy with plans to buy myself one thing with my Economy Stimulus check (or what ever they are calling it now)... I think I want a dress or something from one of these awesome clothiers :D
I can't decide what from whom though! Go look and help me decide.

I should have an update that includes some new art soon,

I was doing some home improvement and it ran longer than expected. I didn't get to send out my April newsletter so I am going to combine April and May and send it out in the middle of the month. Have you heard of RME? It's Revolution Money Exchange. It's just like Paypal but 100% free and prettier. :) I think the interface is a little friendlier too. If you sign up via someones referal you get $25 and I get $10. I did it and got my $25 right away. If you want to sign up AND get the free $25, click my RME referal button to the right and you will get it! And you would make me happy by getting me $10. :D It's a win-win situation. You win more though so why not?

I've always loved Graffiti and urban/street art. This artist mixes fine art AND street art in one, plus they have vinyl toys that are decorated with graffiti art. You've got to check them out.

I'm still having a supply sale in my Etsy shop and will probably run another promotion soon to clear them out. I really need to clear some space in my studio. Please have a look. Right now shipping is $1 in the US, $2 everywhere else, and prices were slashed. There are beads galore right now as well as some other trinkets & findings. The paper goods and ephemera are coming soon.

Ooooooh, I saw Sweeney Todd last night. What a glorious movie! I adore Helena Bonham Carter. She is SO adorable. :swoon:

Anywho, yeah I said I enrolled in school! I am working on getting my associates degree in Graphic Design. I noticed how many GD jobs are available and I do graphic design for fun so why not get a dregree in it and eventually try to make a living out of it? Speaking of which, I have to go dig up my HS diploma... and some Hostas. Hostas are taking over my front walkway. Want to come and take some from me? There are tons and I'll just throw them over the fence in back and let them compost... or take over the little patch of woods. Those things grow like whoa. One day there are teeny sprouts in my front yard and (VERY literally) the next day they are bloomed a foot wide. Spring is here!

I just applied to be an exhibitor at the 2008 Boston ahts Festival in September. Cross your fingers and wish me luck! I have always wanted to show there! I go and see all the artists every year. I don't think I will hear until June though. :/
In the mean time I am going to be creating a lot more artwork so I probably won't be online much.

So I just found BlogRush and I think it's kinda awesome! It gives you a fun little widget with blog headlines that you can filter and customize, it also drives traffic to your blog and tracks your traffic statistics. It's really cool and it comes in different flavors! :D You'll have to sign up to figure out what the hell that actually means. Sign up at BlogRush here!

And I thought it was about time to feature an artist in my blog again but I couldn't decide between these two.
REFINERII has awesome jewelry featuring gears, computer pieces and metal bits while Ms. Betsy has a bunch of little metal creature assmeblages and a lot of great mixed media art!
At the time of this post neither have had a sale so help them get their first and support a real, live artist! :D

A friend of mine at work gave me a flier for the New Haven Mineral Club's 35th annual Gem & Mineral show. It looks like it's going to be kind of awesome. The flier says that they will have fossils, jewelry, lectures & demonstrations, metaphysical stones, dealers and tons of other stuff. It's basically free, they just ask for a donation of $4 which is totally reasonable. Parking is free too.
It's at the Amity Regional Jr. High School in Orange, CT; locationed off Route 34, on Sheffield road. 9:30am to 5:00pm on Saturday April 12th and 10:00am - 4:30pm on Sunday April; 13th. I'll be going Saturday afternoon.

I was browsing through old favorites and I came across one of my all time favorites. It's crazy how many talented artists there are on Etsy. Please go check out Kendra Binney's shop and buy something.

I don't have much else to say today. I'm kind of depressed and very disappointed in life. I really need a new job. Anyone want to hire me?
I do have some artwork to post in my Etsy shop but I haven't had enough good daylight to photograph it.

Whilst browsing Etsy I stumbled across this awesome artist that makes ceramic tiles. She is incredibly detailed with such unique style I had to share. Please go visit and buy!
I think when I redo my kitchen I may buy a few to tile into the backsplash.

Today I listed a few supplies in my Etsy shop and started a new sale. I reduced the prices of all the supplies in my shop and am shipping them for just $1 in the US, $2 everywhere else. I will be listing more supplies in my shop in the coming weeks including lots of paper goods and ephemera items. Keep an eye on my blog for updates if you are interested.

I am back from animeBoston and have some new submissions for my March newsletter and a little more time to get everything photographed, posted and updated. Saturday evening (the 29th) I will be starting a new sale in my Etsy shop as well as completing and mailing out my March email newsletter.

I found a new art community. ArtsCollab. So far it's interesting and look promising. I haven't had much time to poke around though. From the site:

I haven't had a lot of time or daylight to photograph the new art and supplies I have to add to my shop. Also I need a good photo editing program for Mac. iPhoto is nice and all but now powerful enough for me. It's for mom editing the family photos to reduce red eye and brighten that smile... which may be fine for most users but not me. I tried the Aperture trial but the program was confusing and felt limiting... that may be because I didn't know how to use it but the interface didn't make me want to learn how. I miss Photoshop and think I am going to have to invest in CS3. Maybe. I don't want to put myself in the hole before the move.

Nothing is coming along as planned. Nothing ever does for me and I'm not sure why I thought this would. I'm totally uninspired and extremely depressed.
I went to Boston for a couple of days again. After spending a good part of Friday afternoon in the North End (Little Italy) with the twins that own Karma (vintage high fashion boutique on Prince St.) I want to move to Boston more than ever. I feel so alive, energetic and happy when I am there. Boston inspires me to no end. I also met the art gallery owner that is the neighbor to Karma and she may sell my art there; opportunities abound and I'm stuck here.
What do you do when the love of your life doesn't see things the way you do or share your dreams?

I have not been around for the past few months due to an illness in the family and working holiday hours. In January I will be back with (hopefully) a new laptop, tons of new artwork and the TIME to spend on promoting myself and others.
