Our special guest today is George Hubbard, Executive Director of the Lights of the Delta. The largest drive through Christmas lighting display in the Mid-South region in the USA.

The town of Blytheville, Arkansas lights up each November with millions of tiny twinkling Christmas lights, 36 major motion displays and numerous complimentary pieces, Sitting on a 40 acre drive-through site, the former Ecker Air Force Base has a lake, trees, and paved roads to handle the approximately 1 1/2 mile family oriented, holiday experience. Whether it is a visit with Santa, a stop at the souvenir stand, the various types of entertainment, the live nativity on selected nights, or just to see the mesmerizing lights of the Delta in a car or on a hayride, it’s a magical and memorable experience!

There are a number of special events planned for 2009 including the famous Lights of the Delta Pageant, a Christmas Parade and Breakfast with Santa to name a few.

The American Bus Association has named the event one of the Top 100 Attractions in North America. Known as ‘The Christmas City of Lights’ it’s a destination and experience of the holiday spirit that you don’t want to miss. Squaw Butte has been a source of countless legends to the early settlers, and to all who came later. The legends about Squaw Butte were told and re-told by the old-timers, but only a few of them were ever recorded.

One of the many stories explains why the Butte is called “the sorrowing mother.” This is the one I grew up hearing. So today’s podcast is the story of the “Sorrowing Mother.

Our special guest today is Pam Cavender, Image Consultant & graduate of the internationally renowned London Image Institute. Pam’s career has been image! She appeared with Academy Award winner Kathy Bates in Fried Green Tomatoes. She was selected by her peers as “Most Congenial” in the Mrs. Geo pageant. And when Dr. Joyce Brothers needed some assistance in looking polished for a television commercial, Pam Cavender was there! Her knowledge in image consulting has led many of her customers to the top! Pageant contestants, models and today’s business leaders have turned to Pam for help in creating a more professional image.

Pam believes that in all of us there lies a more professional image just waiting to emerge. “Image” is so much more than a make-over or wardrobe change. Rather, it is polishing ones visual, verbal and non verbal skills to develop a sense of confidence and style. Pam will be the image consultant workshop presenter for Santa Claus at the Celebrate Santa convention in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 2010 where hundreds of Santa Clauses, Mrs Clauses and other Christmas folk will be in attendance. Pam and her husband Tim Cavander, an inspirational speaker, often run workshops together.
