In advance, I sincerely apologize for the hiatus! Work deadlines, photography projects, planning for my sister's wedding, and planning for my own wedding have pretty much consumed my entire life the past few weeks. Sometimes it is just a matter of juggling priorities and taking in consideration that any kind of moderation of busyness is healthy. Needless to say, I am back and happy to share with you all a look I have been keen on wearing quite a bit lately. The sun has become much stronger with her rays during these past couple of weeks. I have felt that getting dolled up in vibrant, fiery orange is just the way to complement the steady rise in temperatures. As the sun's heat tampers off towards evening, I throw on this lightweight denim jacket. And how cool is this bag? I have always been drawn to the rolled up, "sack lunch" look designed bags, and when I saw this cognac hued one in Zara, I knew it would have a nice spot in my wardrobe. I will be taking a nice little vacation off from work later this week, so many more outfit posts to share with you all during that time! Love you all.

Spring is here! The colorful arrangements that bloom on every street, the blue skies that make earth's canvas go on for miles, the birds exuberant with a new tune, and the eternal burst of sunshine all make me so giddy. A lot has occurred the past few weeks--as most of you who follow me on other social media mediums (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) already know...I'm engaged! We have known we wanted to get married for quite some time, but we weren't in any rush and wanted to save up money for the big day anyways. But the timing just felt right, and we will be getting married in December. We couldn't be more excited. Thank you to all of you who gave us your sweet and heartfelt wishes.

The tee I am wearing couldn't be more fitting on speaking how I feel, and that is love is definitely in the air! I think springtime just evokes that kind of blissful feeling. Hope you all doing well and basking in the great outdoors. Love you all.

When the skort was trending back in the day, I don't think a pair of those ever ended up in my wardrobe. The concept of skirt in the front and shorts in the back just never settled with me. Then this origami skort showed up in Zara's spring '13 collection, and I folded. Pairing white with neutral tones generates the same feeling when making that perfect crease in the paper. I am sure many of you have seen this skort fluttering its wings through out the fashion blogsphere, but can you blame it? Such a beauty and a versatile piece, I don't mind it as a companion to the raven hued origami skirt I already have nestled in my closet. After all, sometimes two is better than one.

Sometimes linear detail does the trick. On days when I'm on the go, I opt for comfortable apparel with a little character. When something ventures in a straight line, I pair it with something else heading in a different direction, like this origami skirt. And you can never go wrong when it comes to black and white. The absolutes do make the largest statements.

"b" is for basics.

There are days when wearing the "basics" just make sense. For me, especially on the days that still echo of colder days, those items consist of a go-to jacket, a comfortable cotton dress, some boots, and a splash of animal print. A mixture of simplicity and rocker chic go a long, long way for me. This past weekend, I got dolled up in my quintessential outfit while out and about with my boyfriend during the evening. Who says you can't be fashionable and low maintenance at the same time? I live by those two ideas, that's for sure.

Closet staples that are both chic and comfortable have a special place in my heart. With simplicity pretty much being my middle name, I gravitate towards little black dresses all the time. What tugged at my heart strings about this dress though, was its flowing silhouette and unexpected quilted detail on the back. Oh, and shoulder pads. Yes, you heard me. Nothing like a little addition of structure to a free spirited dress. I will be wearing the heck out of this dress for quite some time, believe me. Getting dolled up in these metallic heels also seemed the perfect way to add some jazz to the basic look and also capitalize on the silvery trend.

Growing up I've always been enamored with Audrey Hepburn and her films. Her grace, beautiful essence, and philanthropy made her quite a lady to remember. One of my favorite classics of hers was definitely Roman Holiday. I think most girls dream of taking a day off from modern day work and chores and just living life to the fullest on a whim--with a dashing companion, of course. While out grabbing some tea and pastries with the boyf this past weekend, I opted for my favorite sweater of all time. I styled it with a basic long sleeve to give it a retro twist and fittingly some "Audrey" titled sunglasses.

It was one of those bright and early mornings when the boyf and I decided to go have brunch. Winter has her way of providing the purest light in comparison to her harsh counterpart, summer. Luminous, yet soft. Since we've been experiencing mild temperatures lately, I couldn't help resisting flouncing around in a skirt to our breakfast + lunch. As you all well know, I am a skirt/dress kind of girl. I have been really magnetized to tiger print lately, so I went all in and decided to double up on it.

Right on the outskirts of the neighborhood where I grew up for most of my life is this idyllic countryside that still remains undeveloped. The lush greenery, charming cows and sheep that dot the hills, mountain ranges that interweave as a natural backdrop, and the knowledge that such a pristine place exists in the midst of the metropolitan Los Angeles area, is all together so picturesque and unfathomable at times. Wearing soft, white attire and frosted accessories (like this beautiful bracelet) only seem compatible when venturing out amongst this unblemished scenery.

One wintry morning, my twin sister and I decided to take a light stroll out in the park nearby and we could not help capturing the grand beauty of the place that our childhood had unfolded in. Speaking of my twin sister, she is now engaged, and I am going to be her maid of honor (of course)! Beyond excited for her and her fiance! The boyf and I have been a bit wrapped up in helping her out with all the wedding details. In the meantime, have a lovely week y'all and enjoy the winter weather wherever you may be. Love you all.

Within close proximity of the city of Oceanside are a congregation of lagoons. One lagoon in particular is hedged by a wilderness painted in an array of amber and majestic purple hues and then topped by a bright blue expanse patterned with clouds. We couldn't help stopping by there to survey its grandeur. Despite the vegetation being affected by the winter season, the region still resounds with stark beauty.

Right now I am still basking in a blissful hiatus and enjoying quality time with my family before it is back at the grind with work next week. I always love winters in southern California because although a white Christmas may be a wondrous childhood dream, mild weather always takes the cake. While coasting down the PCH we came upon this secluded gem called Crystal Cove. Private beach, canyons lined with trails and dotted with sunny vegetation, and cliffs washed anew by the Pacific Ocean--all the picturesque aspects of nature that really tug at my heart strings. Hope you all have an absolutely wonderful reminder of the holiday season, and that this coming new year will truly be your best yet. Love you all.

For as long as I can remember, I've been a huge proponent of organic, plant based facial cleansing products. As we are surrounded by makeup products that are not necessarily composed with the most healthiest of ingredients, it is always a good antidote to free our skin of harsh elements and chemicals after a long day's work. My all time favorites happen to come from the Acure Organics line, which I normally buy physically at my local Whole Foods. I basically wash my makeup off with the facial cleanser, apply the brightening scrub every 2-3 days, and hydrate my face daily with the eye cream and radical wrinkle complex cream. Good stuff, I tell ya.

As for makeup, I do use drugstore brand foundation, powder, and lipstick just because the colors match my skin tone the best. To create a barrier between the makeup and my actual skin, I use Tarte's clay based Smooth Operator powder to create a matte look that lasts all day. I'm quite a sucker for eye makeup, so I prep by applying Urban Decay's eyelash primer and Naked 2 eyeshadow palette, NARS' smudgeproof eyeshadow primer, and Clinique's bottom lash mascara. I also like a good glow on my cheeks, so using cult favorites such as blush sets by NARS and Benefit's High Beam luminizer always does the trick. And on the weekends when I like to have a bare face, spritzing on some of Caudalie's beauty elixir always makes me feel brand new.

As the autumn season adjourns and winter slowly waltzes in with her beautiful, wintry confetti, I cannot help but look back at these captures of a time filled with warm colors and crisp air. A few weeks ago during the holidays, the boyf and I went to visit his parents down in the deep south. Having grown up in Los Angeles for most of my life, seeing the transition of tree flames is always an enchantment for me. The changing of seasons is a spectacle not to take for granted. Being able to travel to such distant and quaint places is always a rare treat, and a provider of refreshing perspective on culture, nature, and life in general.

With the buzz of Black Friday and Cyber Monday wearing off (to my relief, since I usually never participate in such chaotic endeavors), I figured focusing on the classic items that would be on sale for awhile rather than just momentarily would be the better choice. I always go into driving hypnosis in the fashion lane when it comes to neutral hues, as those seem to be the most practical. So within the collage above are items that I have already acquired or either find as promising purchases since they will be in sale mode throughout the holiday season. A girl can never go wrong with colors that make perfect pairs with the least compatible, (yet still unique) ones.

Still on a much needed R&R/Thanksgiving vacation, but I have lots of captures and photo shoots in store for you from our road trip when we get back. Even though Thanksgiving has passed, it's always a good time to be appreciative of what we have. One of the favorable things about the autumn season are the rich and bold hues. Nothing heralds festivity as much as evergreen and wine colors crafted around neutral tones such as ebony and charcoal. And of course, a little animal print goes a long, long way. So here are the items that I am pining for this season, and a couple of them I have already saved up for and purchased. Even though we all love the warm summer sun, sometimes a crisp breeze and a few fall leaves dancing around us are all we need to cheer us up.

It has been quite a whirlwind at work for me these past weeks, but once I get past my deadlines at the end of this week, I have an orchard full of outfit posts all ready for y'all. In the meantime, go outside and enjoy the beautiful autumn weather! It is the most beautiful time of the year. Love you all.
