Tonner has listed a few leftover convention dolls for sale, and their prices are pretty good! I was able to pick up both Daphne sculpts, which is great.

To find them, check out the Age of Innocence line for the carousel collection, candy-themed dolls, mod era dolls, and Patsy. There are limited amounts of the dolls for sale.

Also, limited numbers of the Wilde Imagination collection can be found here. It looks like Evangeline may be sold out, but you can still find Parnilla here.

New Momoko: CCS 13SM Home

There is a new fabulous PetWORKs Momoko coming out in mid June 2013 and she is another honey face. This great Momoko appears to come in two different options of a gray or white top outfit. Both outfits will come with a similar shirt in different colors as well as different shoes and pants. The shirt has a print that reads, "DON'T COUNT YOUR DOLLS." Fabulous. I feel like I need a matching shirt to wear as well.

Tonner introduced a new resin doll line, Sad Sally, at this luncheon. She's 7" tall, and is wigged with interchangeable eyes. A dressed doll and four outfits were previewed, with a release scheduled for later this year.

At the Great Scott and All That Jazz event, several great historically inspired centerpiece dolls and a souvenir were presented. The centerpiece base features a chair, called Have a Seat, and is limited to 100.

Daisy - features a blonde Cami head sculpt on an Antoinette body. She was the souvenir and is limited to 250.

At the 1960s era Tonner-A-Go-Go luncheon, Sydney makes an appearance as Sydney A Go Go, the LE125 souvenir doll.

Lady Grace, is the souvenir doll from the Round and Round at the Carousel Ball event. Cami head sculpt and Antoinette body, LE300. 1900s inspired lace gown and hat in blush. I think she's a redhead with blue/grey eyes.

Lady Agnes - Duchess head and Antoinette body, LE100 (centerpiece #1). Burgundy gown with gold accents, lace shirt. Auburn hair with green eyes (I think).

Lady Catherine - Antoinette head and body, LE100 (centerpiece #2). Lavender gown and hat, blonde up-do with brown eyes.

Lady Ann - Precarious head on Antoinette body (LE100) (centerpiece #3). Peach gown with blue and black accents. I believe she's a raven-haired doll with green eyes.

Lady Emily (my favorite!) - Daphne head on Antoinette body (LE100) (centerpiece #4). Red, white and navy gown and hat. She's got brunette hair and blue eyes.

The dolls were displayed on Kronemann Carousel horses, which are resin and hand-painted--there are six different horses in this collection.

Sunday morning featured a Dr. Seuss themed event, with three small dolls as centerpieces and Seussian Basic (Monica Merril head sculpt) as a the souvenir doll.

My morphing collection

It's happened again! Not only have I been shuffling around my fashion dolls, but my BJD collection is going through a change as well.

In addition to adding more realistic sculpts to the line up, I've found that my fascination with Alice-themed and historical/Rococo era outfits have fallen by the wayside in favor of more contemporary styles. These can be a little difficult to find. However, I like several things about them:

First, they take up a lot less room to display and store.
Second, they are fun to mix and match. It's fun putting together pieces from several fashions and creating a new look. The versatility reminds me of playing with fashion dolls.
Third, you have the option of formal wear in additional casual looks, so you aren't stuck with a single style.

Here, Peak's Woods Briana and Lottie are modeling two new outfits from Angell-Studio. Briana is in Modern Forest Suit, and Lottie is wearing Blooming Rose. Briana is in a DollHeart wig, and Lottie is in a Leeke wig and DollHeart shoes. I think the outfits are really cute--well made, and simply adorable.

When a grail isn't all you'd hoped...

Celebration in Paris Tyler Wentworth

Every once in a while, I think I just wait too long to obtain a grail doll. My anticipation builds too much, and then when she arrives, she just can't meet my expectations. This has happened to me recently with the arrival of Celebration in Paris, a Paris Fashion Doll Festival Tyler Wentworth from 2009.

I have to say, she is a lovely Tyler 2.0 sculpt. She's got beautiful platinum blonde hair, styled in short curls. She has amazing red lips and blue eyes. Her black dress is dramatic satin and tulle, with a ribbon belt and a rhinestone buckle. Her jewelry is fantastic, too: two bracelets, a necklace and earrings--all dripping rhinestones. Even her peep-toe shoes are cute and trimmed with sparkles.

I wish she had more dramatic facial screening. I may have waited too long to add her to my collection. She's just not for me. I find she's taking up too much space in my cabinet, and I have to let her go.

I have her listed in on the DollPage Show & Sell for what I paid. I'm hoping someone else will be able to give her a good home and appreciate her, and her limited edition (only 100 were made!), for what she is.

Rufus' Travel Tips

This past fall, my husband, Chris & I flew back to his home state of Maine to attend his high school buddy's wedding. After being inspired by fellow FDR writer Carolyn and her adventures with Collette, I decided I would bring Dynamite Girl Rufus along on our trip. She was pretty quiet and subdued the whole week; in fact, it didn't seem like she was enjoying herself much. However, when we returned home, she had apparently had gathered many opinions about traveling that she felt compelled to share with all of the other dolls out there who read this blog.

1. Be sure to pack a few comforting things, just in case you get homesick while you're on your away. I always bring my pink teddy bear with me to cuddle up with. And shoes. Shoes always make me feel better in any situation; the more pairs, the better. If you can't fit all of your shoes in one suitcase, make sure you fly Southwest Airlines: they allow two free checked bags.

2. If your suitcase is so full that it won't close, don't worry. Just sit on it until it fits. And if you're hollow plastic and don't have enough weight to hold it closed, find a larger, heavier, non-hollow friend to help.

3. Don't pack loaded guns in your carry-on. The TSA doesn't like it very much.

4. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes on your journey, especially if you'll be making a transfer. Even airports with moving sidewalks require a lot of walking, especially when you're only 12" tall. Also, if you've worn heels your whole life, like me, and your feet are permanently on tip-toe, borrow these comfy casual shoes from your friend Twilight Bella - they'll fit heeled feet.

5. Stretch your legs out as much as possible while you're waiting at your gate. Once you're on that cramped plane, you'll be glad you did.

6. This is not a tip, but a question: what's with all of these giant arm chairs in airports these days? Seriously, you could fit like 10 of me on this chair!

7. I suggest bringing lots of reading material in your carry-on - it's going to be a long flight!

8. Get a window seat whenever possible - the views from up above the clouds are spectacular!

9. If you order a snack on the plane, always order the small fruit cup. The large is simply too much food for one person!

10. When you reach your destination city and pick up your rental car, make sure to immediately call "shot gun!" to claim the front passenger seat. Otherwise, you'll end up camped out on the dashboard, like I did.

11. If you get carsick, like I do, find a better spot in the car where you can see directly out the front windshield. I recommend the driver's shoulder. He might make a face, but don't worry, he doesn't really mind.

12. If you get bored on the driving portion of your trip, just make fun of the local town names. I found Maine to be a great state for this.

13. Once you finally reach your destination, take a look around and get your bearings.

14. If you're lucky enough to be in a beautiful place like Auburn, Maine, get a friend to take a few photos of you. You'll be glad you did.

15. Enjoy your vacation!

Summer Launch Party from Tonner Doll

Tonner Doll has announced a special Summer Launch Party, taking place on August 16 and 17, 2013, at the Tonner Company Store in Kingston, NY.

There will be a Meet & Greet Reception on Friday night from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, including special sales for attendees only, and including Robert Tonner--a special chance for you to get your dolls signed.

Saturday, at the Hudson Valley's Wiltwyck Country Club, from 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM, there will be a special Launch Party and luncheon. Not only will you get to see the latest Tonner releases and sneak peeks, you'll get to preview two brand new doll lines--they have both new sculpts and brand new body types.

You'll be leaving with one of the brand new debut dolls as your souvenir, as well.

It's limited to just 200 attendees, and you can sign up to attend now. Information on where to stay for this event is upcoming. Registration is $199 per person, and includes admission to Friday night's Meet & Greet, Saturday's Launch Party and luncheon, and the souvenir doll.

FR:Nippon has returned: Promenade collection 2013

After a two-year break, I'm thrilled to see the return of Integrity's gorgeous line of FR:Nippon girls, exclusively sold in Japan.

These dolls will be available for preorder shortly, and you can see a list of dealers on their website. Dealers should be updating their websites soon, as the dolls have a scheduled delivery date of mid to late May 2013.

Both dolls retail for 13,000 Yen (a little over $132 US) and are limited to 300 each. They have beautiful long hair, golden eyeshadow, pink lips, and applied lashes. Both dolls are simply sweet!

First up, it's Promenade Misaki with lovely warm chestnut hair and emerald eyes. She's dressed in a graphic print tee shirt, black slim fit leggings, and bronze high heeled sandals. She's carrying a wonderful FR:Nippon logo canvas tote with zipper closure.

Our blue-eyed blonde is Promenade Amelie. She's also wearing a screen-print tee with coordinating eggplant leggings and gunmetal heeled sandals. The sandals are wonderfully detailed with buckle closures. She is carrying the same tote as Misaki.

According to the update from Integrity Toys, the packaging has been updated to "new collector friendly window packaging," which is now shoebox-style with circular window cutouts for doll storage that is both convenient and classy. Dolls still include wrist tags and stands.

She charges retail prices, offers both EMS and non-insured first class (deboxed) shipping services as well, and does not charge credit card or additional Paypal fees. Spring Kissed Chloe

One of the cool things that can happen--but almost never does, in my case--in eclectic collections is cross-over: when outfits from one doll company happen to fit another doll.

I discovered that Fairyland's slim Chicline BJD Chloe can wear Cami & Jon and Antoinette clothing by Tonner--down to the shoes. Additionally, I discovered yesterday that FR:16 clothing by Integrity Toys also fits well.

Because Chloe's feet are magnetic, I don't even have to worry about the annoying ankle straps on these shoes. I can keep the buckles connected, remove her foot at the ankle, and slip the foot into the shoe. Then, I slip the connected straps around her ankle and reconnected her magnetic feet. Easy as pie, for some amazing shoes!

Plus, it's a fantastic outfit. It's from a limited edition W Club doll, the first FR:16 doll called Spring Kissed from last year.

This is Rogita, on Peak's Woods Absolute Beauty body, who happens to be just about the same dimensions as Tonner Doll's American Model. She's modeling Charming Lady, the fabulous new outfit by Tonner Doll.

It's actually a pale blue, not gray, and it's a separate skirt and jacket. Simply a gorgeous outfit.

Rogita is wearing her default glass eyes and a LeekeWorld wig in Khaki (really, it's a dark green!).

Steffie of the Day: Ultra Hair Whitney

A grail of mine has finally arrived: It's Ultra Hair Whitney from 1992. She's a European exclusive.

In the Ultra Hair series, there was a brunette doll issued in the US. However, she uses the Superstar sculpt, like the blonde version. In Europe, the Steffie sculpt was used, and her edition size is pretty limited.

When she comes up for sale in NRFB condition, she can sell for $400. Deboxed, and in less than mint condition (mine, for example, is missing her ring and shoes), she can go for much less.

My lovely girl is still in wonderful condition, I think, and has her amazing long and crimped 1990s era hair intact.

New Momoko: ae FLC 2013

Coming up soon is another Petworks Momoko with boots and a great short two-toned haircut. It appears she is a honey face sculpt, but she seems to have a newer lip paint style where her lips are slightly less full. Don't forget that fabulous jacket and simple white dress to complete this Momoko. She will be released in late April to early May 2013 and will be available for 24,000 yen.
