Some current inspiration for styling and outfitting. Incorporating striking bold colors, like the cobalt above, into a fall wardrobe of neutrals to give a pop as it gets colder. Delicate, dainty rings to be worn on multiple fingers for a special touch. Ankle strap high heels to give extra length and sex appeal to legs of all shapes and sizes.

I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the new glasses available for the Warby Parker winter collection and needless to say they are fantastic! I was introduced to the brand a while back from my friend Josh and really love that not only do they offer great glasses and sunglasses at unbeatable prices, they also give a pair to someone in need for every pair purchased. Doing good, while looking good is always very fashionable!

I was out shopping around for Halloween costume accessories on Saturday and popped into Forever 21 for some blue tights. I don't typically shop around in Forever 21 these days as it's often completely over run and just chaotic, however we spent a little time poking around and noticed the abundance of sweatshirts and tops with silly little quotes and words on them all around the store. This has really become a trend down the fashion line after Céline created their signature tee and everyone started making knock offs. This one stood out to me for some reason among the sea of everything and still considering going back to make it mine.

I've been pretty disappointed with my skin and skincare lately and wanted to update some of my products. After quite a bit of research and shopping around I decided to give Kiehl's products a try to see if they live up to everything I've heard about them. I'm starting with mainly products to use at night as that is the time the skin does the most repair work. What are you currently using? Are there any products you love? Dreaming of Palm Springs

The weather just turned a bit cold and rainy in LA yesterday giving off the first signs of fall and while I couldn't be more excited to pull my boots and coats from the closet, I'm secretly dreaming of a desert get-away to Palm Springs. My friend is coming to visit for New Year's and when thinking about what to do during his trip my mind immediately thought of my previous trip to Palm Springs and how much I loved taking a mini-vacation from real life.

There is something so very retro and chilled out about Palm Springs and I'm really excited about the prospect of taking a few days away to revisit the town and my favorite little hotel, the Ace.

Hair Do's

A questions I get asked a lot is what do I use on my hair to keep it smooth and straight. To answer I thought I would give a peek into my favorite hair must haves:

1. Redken All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner - I've been using these for years and nothing has ever come close to making my hair as soft.

2. Moroccan Oil - I use this treatment about once a week to help condition my hair, it always leaves it looking healthy and shiny.

3. Bobby Pins - Even though I don't do a ton of styling with my hair, anytime I want to pull it back, add a top knot, or just get it out of my face nothing beats a bobby pin.

4. Sonia Kashuk Hair Brush - This brush is essentially a knock off of the much more expensive Mason Pearson brush but still gives a lot of the same benefits. Leaves hair sleek and smooth with no flyaways after styling.

5. Twistband Hair Ties - I've been using these for a few years for every ponytail and I love that not only do they come in fun colors and patterns, they don't crease or break hair.

6. Unite Boosta Spray - The only thing my hair ever really does is lay completely flat. While often this is a blessing, when I want to add the occasional volume a few sprays of this helps to keep it from looking limp.

7. Unite Blonda Shampoo - I've used a lot of purple shampoos in my time to keep my blonde at it's best but this is my favorite I've used by far. Works great and has a nice scent too!

8. Tigi Bed Head Rockaholic Dirty Secret Dry Shampoo - Another much tried and much loved product, this is great on days in between washes or even if you just need a little hair pick-me-up.

On Trend: The Trench

A great trench coat is definitely a must have in any wardrobe but especially for the fall season when the weather likes to spike up and down and you never know when a rainy day may arise. There's always a great selection of trenches available at a wide variety of price points but one trend I like this year is having a trench with a little more detail, a special pattern or trim to make it stand out. My absolute favorite is the trench pictured below from Burberry but lacking an extra $9,000 hanging around here are a few more reasonably priced options:

Friday Night Out: First Date

Picking out an outfit for a first date is never easy. It must be fancy enough to impress, but not too over the top to look like you're trying to hard. It has to be flirty and sexy without giving away too much and all the while you need to feel comfortable through the nerves of the first date. This outfit seemed to cover all those bases and more to be the perfect first impression in my mind.

Marc Jacobs' Farewell to Louis Vuitton

After 16 years as the head of Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs took his final runway bow on Wednesday in Paris. The show was everything a fashion insider could have asked for as a grand finale to an astounding and transformative time for the world renowned fashion house. Revisiting some of the greatest theatrical sets from seasons past, the setting in the Cour Carrée du Louvre tent was perfect place to say goodbye.

While the clothes were, as always, stunning, it was the atmosphere that really set this one over the top for me. It was nostalgic without feeling sad, inspired without feeling repetitive, and dark without feeling depressed. From the carousel from Spring 2012 to the backward running oversized train station clock from Fall 2012, the escalators from Spring 2013, to the hotel hallway from Fall 2013, it was like a walk down memory lane that instantly reminded of just what a remarkable influence Marc has had on this brand.

I included some of my favorite shots from the show below and definitely encourage everyone to watch the full show here, it really is a work of art. Marc's final word in the personal letter he left on each seat said "To the showgirl in all of us!", well here's to you Marc, thank you for the years of unforgettable fashion and cheers to the next chapter!

Wishlist: Saint Laurent

I knew from the first look down the runway that I was going to love the Saint Laurent Spring 2014 collection. Hedi Slimane, the creative director of the fashion house, put together a show that incorporated all of my current favorite trends and must have pieces. I would happily wear all of these outfits and I'll be starting the hunt now to work some of these perfect items and trends into my wardrobe as soon as possible.

On the Street in Paris

Just a few trends I'm really loving off the street style in Paris for fashion week:

Monochromatic: Wearing all one color can at times be too much but when done right it can look great. {Tip} Make sure to wear different textures and fabrics similar to the photo above (Leather, Cotton, Denim) to break up the look a bit and add dimension.

Long + Short: This trend seems to be popping up more and more with long coats, short skirts and dresses and can help take a simple skirt and tank look to the next level with the added piece. {Tip} Don't go to the extreme. You don't want the skirt too short or the coat too long. Make sure it still feels balanced and try to stick to a simple color scheme like the photo below to keep the look from being too busy.

Wide Leg: While skinny jeans and leggings have been the go to pant in the days of late, we are seeing more and more wide leg options popping up signifying this style is on the comeback train. {Tip} Make sure to find the right width for your body. If you have wider hips don't do a full wide leg, try just a flare at the bottom. Try a wider leg all over for a thinner frame but make sure you're wearing the pants and that the pants aren't wearing you!

I Love Paris

Paris Fashion Week kicked off yesterday to wrap up the month long gauntlet of Fashion across the world showcasing the best of Spring/Summer 2014 collections. It's no hidden secret that Paris is my favorite city in the world and so to celebrate I wanted to share my favorite reasons that I love the city of light so incredibly much:

1. Paris at Night - If New York is the city that never sleeps then Paris is the city where the magic happens after dark. When the Eiffel Tower is all lit up and the town is heading out for dinner, drinks, and dancing, this city is a sight to be seen and offers up a certain je ne sais quoi.

2. The Champs-Élysées - This avenue holds special memories from my very first hour of my very first trip to the city. I've told the story a million times, but racing up toward the Arc de Triomphe in a cab blaring techno music on a warm late spring night was a vision forever stamped on my memory. Not to mention the amazing shopping with massive flagship stores, this is a spot not to be missed.

3. The Cafés - There are hundreds of cafés and restaurants on every corner in Paris but they are much different then the average restaurants in the states. Almost all offer outdoor sidewalk seating which is the perfect spot to take a break in the city, people watch the afternoon away while having a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. The feeling of just spending time enjoying the day with friends, family, or even by yourself is something that Paris does better then just about anywhere else.

4. The Love - Paris is a city made for lovers. With cozy little corners in restaurants perfect for romantic dates, sidewalks along the seine for strolling hand in hand, and of course the Pont de l'Archeveche also known as the "love lock" bridge, Paris is an ideal place to spend time with the one you love.

5. The Architecture - Notre Dame is just one example of many amazing and awe striking buildings and historic locations in the city. Around every corner it seems like the most beautiful buildings in the world are all located here. While there are many cities with interesting architecture, Paris has some of the most famous landmarks in the world that definitely live up to their hype.

London Photo Diary

I spent a really amazing 9 days in London last month and while it's hard to believe I'm just now getting around to posting pictures, it's fun to relive such an amazing trip. I've been fortunate enough to travel to many amazing cities all over the world but after this trip London has definitely sealed a spot in my heart.

It's got old world charm, with new world style, the best little pubs with pints of the best beer, great shopping, great friends, and an energy that I could definitely get used to. Already planning my next trip back!
