And when we look at rhymes like “heaven,” we find lots of fun phrases like match made in heaven, stairway to heaven, just like heaven, and so on. Substitute Evans in these common phrases to get:

I’ll remember April

Moving right along, weddings in April can also have hashtags specific to the month. Sayings, poems, and songs that include “April” provide hashtag ideas like:

April Fools Day which gives us #AprilJulesDay.

Pieces of April inspires hashtags like #ReesesOfApril.

April showers bring May flowers could work for #AprilBauers. (Remember, you don’t need to use the whole phrase. Hashtags are easier to remember and use when they’re short and sweet!)

May it be

Did you know that 11% of couples get married in May? If you’re among them, you could include the month in your hashtag with ideas inspired by poems or common phrases like:

Darling buds of May which can give you #DarlingBoydsOfMay.

May as well will work in something like #MayAsSchell.

Maybe Next May is perfect for a rhyming name like #TaibbiNextMay.

And First of May inspires hashtags like #HearstOfMay, which of course will work with other rhyming names like Durst, Berst, and Furst.

Spring is here

So many of the holiday phrases that we’re familiar with are from Christmas carols. We started with the titles of some of our favorite holiday songs and carols to get phrases (and hashtags) like:

Some of our common holiday sayings just belong on a greeting card. They’re greetings or wishes for the season, such as:

They’re descriptions of the season, like:

Maybe it’s obvious, but we think fall hashtag ideas should start with…fall. There are so many phrases with the word “fall” that make great hashtags.

Phrases like:

Fall in love…how about #CollinsFallInLove.

And fall back on ___  will give us #FallBackOnMacke.

Fall in line, with a name that rhymes with “line” could be #FallInStein.

Or fall into place, when you substitute a rhyming name, becomes #FallIntoChase.

Leaf your mark

Colorful foliage is another gorgeous sign that fall is here. Phrases that include “leaf” or “leaves” provide more fall hashtag ideas like:

Turning leaves, with a rhyme again, becomes #TurningReeves.

Turn over a new leaf becomes #TurnOverANewKeefe.

Leave it to Beaver could be #LeafItToWeaver

Spooktacular Halloween

As the shadows lengthen and the nights get longer, the spooks and goblins come out to play. If you’re celebrating in October, scary movies can provide ideas for fall hashtags and a Halloween theme. Try:

Something Wicked This Way Comes, for #SomethingPickettThisWayComes.

The Blair Witch Project becomes #TheBaerHitchProject.

Wicked Witch of the West could be something like #WickedHitchOfLopreste.

Oh my gourd

For all you apple-picking, pumpkin-carving, gourd-buying-and-decorating folks out there, we have phrases with your favorite autumn flavors and décor. For example:

Appley ever after (one of my favorites) can be used for #AppleyEverAstor.

Picked an (apple) can be #PickedAnApted.

Bachelorette Fall Hashtag Ideas

The rest of our ideas work especially well for bachelorette parties and girls nights. Working with song titles for inspiration, we find:

Kiss the Girl  #KissTheGhoul

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun  #GhoulsJustWannaHaveFun

Ooh, “girls” becoming “ghouls” is fun for October. How about:

Hashtag ideas for Palmitesso

Jenna says, “Hello was wondering if you would be able to make a hashtag for my fiancé and I? His name is so hard I’m having a difficult time but reading here you do a fantastic job! My name is Jenna Mead, his name is Anthony Palmitesso.”

Longer names can definitely be challenging, Jenna! My first thought was that it would be easier to break up this name into syllables and try to find hashtags for each part. Using the “Palm” part of the name gives us:
#KeepPalmAndCarryOn

Then I focused on the “ess” sound and paired it with some sweet sentiments that share the same sound, and got:
#TimelessPalmitesso
#EndlessPalmitesso
#YesToThePalmitesso

Pairing with a near rhyming sound in “latest” we get:
#TheLatestPalmitesso

Then we can use a word that rhymes with “tess” (like press) and substitute Palmitesso to get:
#HotOffThePalmitesso

If you wanted to use both names in the hashtag, you could start with “Mead” and find words that rhyme (like “read”) to find a common phrase. Then substitute “Mead” to get:
#MeadMyLipsPalmitesso

Or how about an eye rhyme (or visual/sight rhyme) like “head,” which will give us:
#MeadOverHeelsForPalmitesso

Hashtag ideas for Dilu and Annie

Jasmin says, “Hi, I need help to form a hashtag for my brothers wedding. The groom’s name is Dilu and the bride is Annie.”

Right away we’re looking for rhymes…let’s start with Dilu and rhyme with the word “blue.” Find some common phrases and then substitute “Dilu” (and add in Annie if at all possible!) to get:
#OnceInADiluMoon
#AnniesTrueDilu
or maybe even #SomethingAnnieSomethingDilu (a bit long, but based on “something borrowed, something blue”).

Let’s use some alliteration for #AbsolutelyAnnie, and replace the “lu” sound with Dilu’s name to get:
#AbsoDilutelyAnnie
Start with #LookingAtAnnie and replace the “loo” with “Dilu” to become:
#DilukingAtAnnie

And see if you can find a phrase with rhymes for both names to get something like:
#AFewDiluAnnie (few too many)

Ideas for Jennifer and Robin

Jennifer says, “Heyyyy, My boyfriend and I of 12 years are getting married finally after this pandemic. My name is Jennifer & his name is Robin. Could you’ll please help us?

First names can sometimes be even harder to use in hashtags, but let’s give it a shot!

For Jennifer, let’s shorten to Jen and use the rhyming word “then” to find a common phrase. Substitute Jen (and add in Robin’s name) to get:
#RobinNowAndJen

Does “Robin” sound  like “rolling”? Not really, but they start with the same letter, so let’s try:
#RobinInTheDeep

And see how Robin can become Rob In for this next idea:

For Arnholt, we’re breaking down the name and choosing near-rhyming words for the “holt” syllable, namely old, gold, and hold. Then we’re finding phrases or titles that include those words, and substituting “Arnholt” to get hashtags.

So “tale as old as time” becomes #TaleArnholtAsTime

Same old story…#SameArnholtStory

To have and to hold…#ToHaveAndArnholt
The good old days…#TheGoodArnholtDays

For this name we’re breaking it up and looking at near rhymes. You can imagine the “avi” sound being like the word “ever,” which gives us #AvilastingLove.

Or just the “av” sound is similar to “have,” giving us #ToAvilaAndToHold, #AvilaNiceDay, and #AvilaToldYouLatelyThatILoveYou.

And Avila could sound a little like Delilah, giving us #HeyThereAvila.

Sometimes it’s fun to use alliteration…like #AvidlyAvila.

Or choose words that share some of the same vowel sounds…like #GladlyAvila. Or another word that ends with “la” …like #AvilaGala

For names with multiple syllables, we usually start by choosing just one of them. So for example, let’s start with “bell” Some common phrases with “bell” include saved by the bell, clear as a bell, ringing the bell, and jingle bells. Substitute Bellamy and you’ll get:

Choose a word that rhymes with “bell” for additional phrases. For example, “hell” gives us highway to hell, hell on earth, hell bent for love, hell of a day, catching hell, and hell yes. Fill in Bellamy (or shorten to Bell) for:

Once again we’re going to break this name apart. The “Coop” part sounds like “scoop,” which gives us the phrases scoop it up and what’s the scoop. Substitute Cooper or Coop and we get:

The end of the name is the beginning of “perfect,” so we can substitute (or add) and get:

Looking at other “c” words (that happen to end with “per”) and we get “camper” and the phrase happy camper; substitute Cooper and we get my favorite:

For this name we’re going to start by dropping the “ck” sound and finding phrases for “when.” Then we’ll substitute Wenck to get:

Checking voter ID before voting

Love will find a way—even during COVID-19. If you and your love found a way down the aisle in 2020, you probably also changed your name. (About 80% of women do.) And then came the fun part: you updated your driver’s license, passport, bank accounts, credit cards, insurance, car registration, and on and on. But you may have forgotten one update that will be critical in a few short months: to update voter registration.

While ID requirements vary from state to state, most polling places will expect that your registered name matches the name on your identification.

What happens if your registration doesn’t match your ID?

In some places, you may be asked to sign an affidavit of identity before voting. In other states, you may have to cast a provisional ballot and follow up with appropriate identification later in order for that vote to be counted. None of this is difficult, but don’t you want to get in and out of the polls as quickly as possible? Updating your voter registration is one way to make sure voting is fast and easy.

How to update voter registration

For more information about how to update voter registration, visit Vote.gov.  Answer a few quick questions to get routed to your state or territory’s voter registration page. If you are not yet registered to vote, you may also be able to do that online. Start at vote.gov and follow the prompts.

What ID will you need in order to vote?

Did you know that 36 states require some form of voter ID? Check out this site to find out what identification you’ll need in order to vote.

Now that your registration is updated, do you have to vote in person?

If COVID-19 makes you nervous about voting in person—or you have a health condition, work commitment, or other situation that makes it difficult to go to the polls on election day—you may want to look into absentee ballots. You can mail your ballot, or in some places drop off when completed. Many states also allow early voting; you can fill out and submit a ballot early at a local polling location. A couple of weeks ago we shared a post with some hashtag ideas for several readers who had asked for help in the comments. As we noted then, we get lots of comments here at the blog, mostly from couples in search of hashtag inspiration. And while it might be easiest to comment back, the original posters don’t always return to the comments to read the suggestions.

If you’re looking for help, I always recommend our Facebook group first, where you can get creative ideas from almost three thousand members. (Yes, nearly 3,000!)

But I’m also going to continue these posts, responding to some of the comments and sharing how I came up with the ideas. Today I’m sharing 22 more hashtag ideas, this time  for the names Lorenzo, Guzman, and Ajwani. All of these requests were posted in April. Thank you for sharing your challenges with us!

Hashtag ideas for Lorenzo

For names with multiple syllables, try choosing just one of them. So for example, “zo” sounds like “so” and some common phrases with the word “so” include so far so good, so be it, and so it goes, so this is love, and so it begins. Substitute Lorenzo and you’ll get:

#AndSoItLorenzos
#LorenzoItGoes
#LorenzoThisIsLove

Push it a bit more and “zo” sounds like “soul” gives us the hashtag:

Hashtag ideas for Guzman

Hmm, I can see where that might be a…um…hard hashtag to use at a wedding. How about ideas from phrases using just the word “man” and substituting Guzman? Something like:

#GuzmanOfTheHouse
#YesGuzman

Or using near rhymes, with “man” sounding (sorta) similar to “one,” you would get:

#GuzmanAndOnly

Or instead of “man” maybe it sounds like “mine” and you get:

Or just choose another “g” word (going) and substitute Guzman for:

#GuzmanToTheChapel

And if you want some (not so naughty) ideas with Wood in them, as well, maybe try:

For this name I would look again at near rhymes. You can imagine the “wani” sound being like the word “want” and the whole name sounding similar to “I want” or “I wanna” or “I want it.” Then find phrases and idioms that include want or wanna, and substitute Ajwani to get:
