It's time for a review on the 2011 Film, Contagion.

Contagion is a natural disaster movie about the bird-flu. The headperson Mitch Emhoff (Matt Damon) is one of the first people to lose a close friend to the sickness. His wife, Beth Emhoff (Gwyneth Paltrow), dies and to protect his daughter who is the only one he has left he is also tested, to see if he is infected. He finds out that his bloodtype is immune to the flu, but his daughter can still get infected. Through the movie you follow Mitch, but also the doctors working to solve the mystery behind it, but also finding a cure.

All the people working on the solution, does not want the public to know, but of course they find out and fear spreads even faster than a flu, and the people reacts like insane.

I rate this movie 6-7/10 stars because of the great actors, the topic and the fact that you can actualy learn from it.

This is a review of Source Code, written by Ben Ripley.

The whole story is about pilot Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllanhaal) who wakes up on a train traveling to chicago. Next to him is his traveling partner Christina Warren (Michelle Monaghan), but since waking up he can't remember who he is. A few minutes later the train explodes and when Stevens regains his consciousness he is inside an unfamiliar cockpit.

Through a screen, Air Force Captain Colleen Goodwin (Vera Farmiga) contacts him, and explains the situation to him. He is inside The Source Code, an experiment created by Dr. Rutledge (Jeffrey Wright). The train exploding is a terrorist attack and he has to go inside the happening, to try find out who the creator of the explosion is, to prevent a possible next attack. Through the whole film he enters this other universe several times, to find the "terrorist" behind the attack. He falls in love with Christina, even though the person which body he possesses is not even himself.

The effects in this movie are really good, you have to think about some things to understand it and it can be watched by pretty much everyone because it fits in so many genres.

I give the film a rating of 8/10 stars because i really like the story and it has a great moral.

The Expendables

As my first review i would like to talk about The Expendables, a movie from 2010 by Sylvester Stallone.

Starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li, you could already hear this was going to be a tense action movie. The team of mercenaries is given the assignment to take out a milliary leader and a rogue CIA operative on a Latin America Island. While they are not really up for accepting the mission, they all have their individual problems, and they hope the money will solve those. Stallone (As Barney Ross) also falls in love with the generals daughter, which makes things even more difficult.

I think the history is well written and the movie ended up as tense as i thought it would. But the effects are very very very bad, so if it is important to you that effects are somewhat realistic, then this is really not the best film to watch.

If you really love action movies though, i suggest you to watch it, and with all these action heroes it is even better.

All in all, i give this movie 5-6/10 stars. If it should score higher, the effects had to be better, and the moral should be more visible. (If there even is one, cause i haven't found it yet).
