This blog was formerly a place where I talked about adoption, foster care, and parenting. It is now taking a different direction due to the fairly recent series of events that led my wife and I to finally disrupt our adoption.

When we first adopted J, at age 10, about six years ago, we had never heard of reactive attachment disorder. As time went on, and we realized that's what we were dealing with, we sought help.

What we got instead was a series of incompetent therapists, social workers, teachers, and other parents that did not see what we did, or refused to see what was wrong with our child.

What ended up happening is that J went into a therapeutic foster home, I went to jail for six months, and my wife and I are now recovering from the experience separately. This is our story.
